Bluebox. in Barnet

Wow! This is such a totally amazing place! Their predecessor on this spot, Daily Bread, was the best place to eat in Whetstone and BlueBox has now taken that mantle on, even though each of them have / had a completely different brilliant fusion cuisine. There is so much for vegetarians and vegans at Blue! The food comes in very generous portions. There is an imaginative mixture of various different Oriental cuisines and English and North American cooking too. Even if you go for the most everyday thing, like porridge (called "Oatmeal" here) or egg mayonnaise sandwiches, she somehow manages to make it taste like the most scrumptious delicacy you've ever tried - I don't know how she does it! The owner always shows great warmth, enthusiasm and empathy. She even has a special deal not just with a loyalty card but with an offer to give your place a tidy-up free of charge (you usually have to spend a lot on that) if you spend a certain amount there.

I love this place, not just for the food but for the friendly welcome we always get from the owner. There are so many places in whetstone but I don’t go to any others. Why would I want to be treated like a nuisance elsewhere when I’m welcomed here like a friend? It’s small inside but has a cute play area for kids and outside tables. The menu is regular things but don’t miss out in the Chinese specials including congee and dim sum

Yesterday we enjoyed a great lunch. The kimchi pancake was fluffy with a kick of chili and the beef satay salad was delicious. The blue butterfly-pea flower tea was the highlight for me! Delicately favoured and an amazing blue colour!

If you ever find yourself in Whetstone this is a must. Really nice and friendly staff. A quaint indoor cafe with children's play area and outdoor seating. We had a coffee and a milkshake whilst sitting in the sunshine. There's lots of larger coffee shops along the high road but in my opinion, bigger is almost not better.

What a find & what a lovely reception from Bernie, the owner.! She made me a superb toasted bacon and sausage sandwich & i shall definitely return.

Today is my second visit to this lovely little cafe. Free parking is available along the Great North Road. The cafe is small. It's clean. The staff, friendly and helpful. The coffee, good coffee. The owner, Bernie, is passionate about her cooking. She delivers appetising quality food at a reasonable price. And that's not all, Bernie is amongst many other things, the author of a very interesting book called Beyond Best. Very interesting.

The cafe is a hidden gem, it has a play house under the stairs, and is brilliant for children. We had lunch and the food was delicious, a whole range of options available.

This tiny but extremely friendly cafe punches well above its (modest) weight. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, excellent coffee and finally we have some Keto options to replace the diabetes-inducing carbs. Let's wish it every success

The service is warm & friendly. We ordered Hong Kong style satay beef with rice & Taiwan style toast. Food was presented well & tasty. The prices were so good for the quality of food. It was amazing and well worth the visit.

A truly wonderful unique cafe. The owner is warm and the food delicious, we went with our children and there is a very clever children's play area that captured my imagination too. I loved my breakfast and coffee. The vegan french toast was sublime.

Imaginative menu with some vegan and veggie options. Such good value and friendly service. We had huge plate of Japanese noodles with chicken and all the vegetables were fresh and it was cheap and delicious 😋

A lovely and cute cafe tucked away in Whetstone. They serve a wide array of tasty and unique food. Plenty of vegan options available. Would come again!

I met business colleagues for lunch today and had a really good experience. The food was enjoyable and the team were helpful and very friendly. I would definitely go back.

When I first visited the BlueBox I felt welcome, and I kind of felt "at home". Bernie, the owner, was very friendly and welcoming. She showed us the menu and unlike other restaurants and cafés, we did not feel the rush to order as soon as we sat down. That's very important to me and I really appreciated it. The extensive menu had a choice of delicious healthy food which I understand is made in the premises. There was also an asian section with appealing options. We opted for a generously portioned breakfast, served with juice and some fantastic blue tea. The place has also a children play are, which makes it ideal for families to visit too. We have been back to the BlueBox twice already and we can't wait to visit again once lockdown is over.

Excellent home made food, lovely presentation and very friendly attentive service. There is a good choice to suit all dietary needs， especially Asian food. Home made smoothies - highly recommended. Will definitely be back.

This is the dim sum I've ever had in Europe the owner is lovely and the food is hot and fresh and the place is spotless great staff and I wish I'd found this place sooner.
