Excellent food and a good choice of drinks including great wines and cocktails, they even sell delicious mocktails. Comfortable surroundings and wonderful staff who are knowledgeable, friendly and professional. Sitting on the patio in the middle of the countryside in the warmer weather is bliss.

If you want to eat somewhere with the ambience of a grave yard being tended to by a barman with the demeanor of a grave digger then this is the place for you.

Delightful food and good service in a lovely setting. Due to Covid the menu is slightly reduced but still a good choice.

Booked a late Stay at the Ilsington Hotel (again) & dined at the Blue Tiger!! WoW. A great variety of choice on the menu, food presented superbly, tasted delicious, lovely staff and great ambiance. 5 stars from us 🌟 and as always can’t wait to visit again!

We enjoyed a lovely meal in the blue tiger after our spa session. We both had the burger, was one of the best I've ever eaten, so good. Dessert was lovely too. Perfect meal. Only thing letting the evening down was price of drinks. Large glass of wine £8.50! 2 for 1 cocktails but no details/menu anywhere. I think if the drinks were more reasonable, or more offers - as locals, we would be back like a shot and recommending to friends and family.

We were staying at the Hotel and used the Blue Tiger several times. Every meal was excellent, at first we thought it would be a rip off Cheffie type of food, but how wrong we were. The staff were superb, nothing was too much trouble and the service was spot on. My particular favourite was the Pork Belly and the cod, both were tremendous, my only regret is that the Blue Tiger is 200 miles from where I live, otherwise it would be our local.

we went here on Saturday the 8th of June 2019. (sorry for the delay) I booked ahead for a table for that date. We were met very nicely by the bar person and told which table was ours. So we ordered drinks and as it was a nice evening decided to sit on the patio and look at the fantastic view out over S Devon WOW. They think of everything for the customer here, my partner was offered a blanket for her legs as it a bit of a chilly evening. We were advised our food was ready so we went in to eat. I had a steak done to perfection as I had asked for medium well, my partners was the same but both to our own taste. She finished with a Dessert wine which she said was the best she had ever had. We were treated like royalty, nothing was to much trouble. We had a very good experience here at The Blue Tiger. The staff were VERY attentive. It was a memorable experience and we will be back on our next special occasion. Well done to you all especially the young waitress that served us at the table, she was brilliant. Sorry I cannot remember her name.

I can’t quite rate it as very good. It is certainly good though. We stopped in here for some supper. I was impressed that they cured and preserved their own fish and meats. I had a duck dish with plumb sauce which was fine and at circa £14 reasonable value for money. I also had some homemade ice cream which was very tasty but could have come in a larger portion, overpriced at £1.50 a ball as they were tiny. Cheese plate grossly overpriced for what was provided. The drinks were also over the top. They offer “flights” of gin with 3 gins and two tonics but again OTT prices. There was a cocktail menu offering 2 for the price of 1 which might be more reasonable or perhaps merely indicates the OTT price for one. Bottles of wine also steep. So to summarise better than average pub / bistro food but expensive hotel drink prices. I wouldn’t go out of my way to go here but probably worth a visit if you were nearby.

Stopped at the hote and ate here! WOW! Relaxed atmosphere, great service, reasonable prices. I started with the ham hock, great! Followed up with the fish platter, they smoke their own fish here and the taste is sensational! Parfait to finish, which was OK! I live in Devon and was really pleased to note that they also offer discounts in packages if you live in the local area. I will be back!

The Blue Tiger Inn is part of the Ilsington Country House Hotel. The dress code is relaxed and dogs are allowed in the lounge and eating area. We found the menu limited but good. The staff were friendly and the service very good. Excellent for visitors with dogs.

Very disappointing menu for Mothers day: only one option for vegetarian main course. Ended up with soup, since the usual bar menu wasn't available. My in-laws are regular customers here, but no attempt to find us an alternative. Mother-in-law also ended up with a starter due to paucity of main course choice. Won't be rushing back sadly.

The hotel is in a lovely location and the staff are fantastic. However, the food needs to priced more competitively to the local pubs and restaurants.

Dropped in for lunch - admittedly it was a Monday but we were the only people there. Even so it took 40 minutes for our food to arrive. Both our choices were from the daily specials board. The hake was very good apparently but I chose Goat's Cheese Spring Roll with celery, beetroot, walnuts and grapes. Sounded yummy. However all I was served was the spring roll - okay but swimming in olive oil - with some warmed new potatoes, tomatoes and red onion. No sign of the beetroot, walnuts, celery or grapes! Surely if a meal is on the Specials it is fair to presume that the chef would have the appropriate ingredients and if not then inform us. But it seems not. Needless to say we won't be returning.

We ate in the bar, which wasnt very busy, but the service was slow, although possibly the seperate restaurant was busier. Although the main elements of both meals were perfectly good, the chips in both case were very underdone, even though they looked cooked.

Had a quick visit to dartmoor and popped into the Blue Tiger bar adjacent to the Ilsington Country Hotel for lunch. Fab friendly and efficient.Super tasty and plentiful food and good drinks menu. Both mum and I had mulled wine, delicious and hubby had a shandy.Mum had a wonderful fish pie, crammed full of tasty salmon, prawns and white fish in a light creamy sauce topped with fluffy parsley mash. I had the wonderful fish platter which is smoked on site and fresh bread baked here too and hubby had a pork loin with ham hock terrine etc which was totally yummy and disappeared very quickly. Too full for pud but had excellent coffee and biscuits to end our very good lunch. Was shown around the beautifully appointed rooms, the light and airy dining room with the best views ever of the moors and Haytor Rock and had a peek at the well equpped gym, swim pool, jaccuzzi etc. Looking forward to our stay late May at this hidden jem on Dartmoor.Thank you

Stopped for lunch after walking from Lustleigh with a friend on Tuesday 26/3. She had a tasty baguette and I had the most delicious cheesy chips. The service was great, the atmosphere was warm and cosy and the waitress was so welcoming. The cakes looked amazing too. We're planning a return visit soon
