Booked a table for a couple of people for a volunteer event. Felt pressured into ordering a drink before the rest of the group arrived. I was then told they could make it for when the rest arrived but it was brought out early anyway. Staff member "told off" one of the volunteers (not even myself who booked the table) since we didn't order food even though some of us had! She told us that we should have told them the table was just for drinks and not food. When I booked I wasn't asked to specify on the phone and presumed it would be okay to just order coffee and teas at a cafe! There was no clear indication on their website that tables can only be booked for a meal. Not impressed by the customer service.

I had the special doner lamb and pork in pitta bread with sky chip in their chilli sauce. Just WOW. The staff were pleasant and very informative of how they source locally. Will definitely be on our itinerary when next in Bangor.

What a cracking wee place! First time I’ve been to this Bangor before and I think this must be the best place in town! Fantastic keg selection and a fully stacked fridge and dog friendly… the food was also really good. I enjoyed the burger which was delicious! This place was super busy so I would recommend booking. We were lucky to get in without a booking! I had a good chat with who I think was the owner who had good beer knowledge. A must visit if you go to Bangor!

Can't believe how good this place is, they are turning people away on a tuesday afternoon its so popular. great staff, the food is fantastic (I've had a lot of taproom burgers, and this was the best yet) and the beer is perfectly kept. it seems not many come here for the beer, which is a shame - they come mainly for the food.

Bangor's premier (possibly only) craft beer bar, with ten taps of beers from local and national independent breweries to choose from, alongside two fridges full of craft beer cans. The food is fantastic too, serving breakfast and lunch focused on quality local ingredients. Freshly ground coffee, a short menu of cocktails, a decent top shelf of spirits and a laid back atmosphere make it a great place to visit. Upstairs hosts occasional gigs, events and craft lessons.

Good quality WiFi for working there for a few hours. Yet to go to an event here in the evening but planning to do so soon! The food here is absolutely amazing, delicious and full of flavour, I've had the chicken in a basket from here and recently had the swiss burger (after the burger I asked for was out of stock and the server recommended the swiss burger), and both dishes cooked to perfection so much so I asked them to pass on my compliments to the chef. I'd also highly recommend the homemade ice tea if you're an ice tea fan or a tea drinker otherwise they have a great drinks selection all from local and nearby businesses, they also have a large range of coffee for the coffee lovers too. You'd be crazy not to visit here for food and it's always a pleasant place to visit.

Service awful need to train your workers. Been here a few times and customer service going down hill fast. The young blonde girl behind the bar clearly stressed didn't greet us just asked us to wait outside for 10 minutes despite downstairs not being busy and had three empty tables. Then after 15 minutes we were sat at one of those tables but it hadn't been cleaned. We then sat there for 30 more minutes while she ran around taking single drinks orders with no service or communication whatsoever. There was a family 2 parents with three kids occupying the two large middle tables with the youngest being allowed to freely walk on the table surfaces. As we walked out the young girl behind the bar didn't even apologise or acknowledge us. Awful experience with poor trained staff

I was looking online for Portmeirion Village tickets and noticed that they were included if you took lunch in the Castell's Brasserie - what a fab idea. I hadn't told my wife and daughter, and made up an excuse about us having to stop at the Castell to collect our village entry tickets. It was a gorgeous sunny day and the views from the Brasserie were amazing. The waiting staff were courteous and professional and the menu included a couple of fab veggie options. Our starters did seem to take a while to arrive, but there were a lot of people on our sitting, and when they arrived they were just gorgeous. You could see the skill and pride that had gone into making and presenting the food, it was phenomenal. Highly recommended.

You just cannot walk past this lovely pub, which is situated in the corner of Porthmadog Harbour, not far from the Yacht club. For many years, we've visited Porthmadog walking from Black Rock Sands along the coast line through Borth-y-Gest and arriving in the harbour where you need a little break, so we popped into Tafarn Pencei. Outside the pub, there are benches, but to the side of the pub, there's a rooftop terrace with a lovely view of the harbour just a note that this pub is very dog friendly, Tess loves it anyway. Inside it has a dining area to the left and the centre of the pub is the bar which has seating beyond and to the right a further 4 large tables. The landlord and all the staff are very friendly and attentive, which includes the chef and kitchen staff as your food is absolutely amazing (5✨️) The bar has 3 to 4 real ales on Bass, a favourite, is always on, good selection of largers and a nice wine list which are all reasonably priced. The Pencei is a go-to pub and restaurant it has its regulars, who I must say are also lovely but what we love about it is the atmosphere the way that the landlord is checking that your ok "have you had a good day" I hear him say, you don't get this very often and this is why we come back every year. The food served here is outstanding from the fish & chips, mussels, steaks, and smashed burgers all home cooked. So don't just walk around the harbour pop in and try for yourselves. I must say, you won't be disappointed at all. So thank you to you all at Tafarn Pencei for making our little break away so special we'll see you again. The H's
