It’s a nice place but they should clean the tables as they are extremely sticky. We have been there several times but the cleanliness of the tables is putting us a bit off

Having lived in Sydenham for nearly seven years it’s been with great anticipation that The Greyhound would open. They have done as good a job as possible with what is a small space, decor is very nice, beer is good and staff very friendly. To give a bit of constructive criticism I would say that the drinking area is very tiny, the rest is for diners and you feel shoehorned in with no space. It’s very noisy which is down to thd tiled floors creating an echo and the windows are full of condensation so some work need to be done still. It’s good but needs to resolve these issues, st the mind goes compared to thd relaxed vibe you get at The Dolphin it feels a bit forced.

Recently I stopped for coffee and cake here between meetings, and they were fine although a little expensive for the type of outlet. However, I was concerned over staff attitudes to hygiene. On visiting the loo I found there was no loo paper. There were paper towels but the loo user was advised on a notice only to put these in the waste bin and under no circumstances to flush them. Big dilemma for anyone "caught short". Do I use and flush to get them out of the place and risk a blockage, or do I stick them in the waste bin and risk putting something absolutely foul in the public domain, a matter of feet from where food was being prepared and served? Sorry to raise such disgusting images but this is what one was faced with. Now I realize that this sort of thing can and does happen from time to time, so mentioned this to the staff on leaving the loo. The answer I got was that they'd completely run out of paper and someone was going to have to go to the shops as and when they had time.

By happy coincidence my housemate and I both found ourselves with a day off, so we thought we'd pop down the road to Sydenham for a bit of lunch.Sydenham has a mix of no-nonsense greasy spoons and pubs, as well as various trendier options. I guess this place is on the trendier end of the spectrum. We both had the mezze platter, which was very good. A generous portion with pitta, hummus, vegetables, aubergine dip, salad and halloumi. Very nice. The place prides itself on it's coffee but I opted for a cup of tea, so I can't comment on that. All said, a pleasant place for lunch, or coffee and cake.

I've been a regular to visitor blue mountain cafe and would have highly recommend to friends and family , however my last few visits have been very disappointing. The staff do not listen to your orders properly or write them down, and you get the food cooked completely the opposite to what you ask for it the wrong order or not at all! For example I ask for eggs well done... They come runny. A few weeks ago I ordered a side of pancakes which never came & I Had to ask for them to be removed from the bill. On that occasion the manager was sat next to us and did nothing to appease the situation. Today the pancakes were raw in the middle &They had run out of condiments and instead of going next door to the shop to get more they just said there's none left. It's really gone down hill which is a shame as it was a lovely, however I'll be going somewhere else from now on.

The service is a bit slow and our coffees were forgotten about and there had been a mix up in the kitchen so out breakfast took a bit longer than it should have done but being a Sunday we were in no rush! The atmosphere and decor were really nice , quite industrial and unfinished which I like! The food when it came was nice though I was a bit suprised to get eggs benedict on a piece of toast and not a muffin ( not a criticism just an observation) although I myself prefer a bagel. Given the lack of alternatives, I find myself in here quite often (the only non-greasy spoon alternative if you want food is Sugahill round the corner, and their food offering is more limited).Positives: the coffee is good, and actually tastes like coffee unlike most chain offerings. The staff are generally helpful and friendly.Negatives: the food can be good, but is sometimes distinctly average, especially given the quite steep prices for what you get. The service can sometimes be incredibly slow, and ironically this seems to be more the case when there are hardly any customers. The clientele vary, but there is sometimes a 'too cool for Sydenham, don't know how I ended up here instead of Shoreditch, must have taken the train in the wrong direction' element who have loud and boring conversations about house prices. There are apparently some more cafés opening in Sydenham soon, which should make this place up its game a bit.

Seems like a lovely community place for the neighbourhood and good atmosphere, however the service was the worst I've experienced anywhere in London so far. I tried to get an order in with an egg roll and one cappuccino with oat milk. Pretty basic you'd think. The guy at the till was either distracted or forgetful, but had to repeat it like three times to finally get it in. Straight after saying 'cappuccino with oat milk', proceeds to make a cappuccino with normal milk and hands it over. Eventually I get the correct drink in. After that, I end up waiting 40 minutes for the food, which is nowhere in sight. I go to ask inside, and all the staff members look at me equally blanked, with the kitchen lady saying she's never got that order from the guy at the till. Marvellous. At this point I've given up. Eventually, I got my food and the only plus to the whole experience was that they offered cake as a 'sorry'. However, really disappointing in overall.
