Bloomers & Danish in Norwich

A lovely friendly cafe and bakery, If only they offered a brown toast option and a choice of butter instead of margarine (for which I would happily pay a little extra) it would be absolutely perfect and I'd easily give 5 stars for food, Nice food and great value.

El desayuno de los campeones, Bloomers & Danish está escondido pero vale la pena buscarlo. El amable personal, siempre dispuesto a ayudar, junto con las carnes de calidad del carnicero local, hacen de este un firme favorito. Excelente relación calidad-precio un gran comienzo para el día.

Muy buen servicio y comida, en esta cafetería. Les hicimos saber que no podía comer trigo y me dieron salchichas especiales para que pudiera desayunar igual que mis amigos. Recomendando este lugar

Had some extraordinary toasts (come with the full English) and the staff are super friendly and nice!

They go behond the call of duty for their customers and quality of food, this is shown EVERY time I visit without fail; they bake all their pastries and bread from scratch. Not to mention the heart-warming, welcoming era they portray, and their amazing prices, it's obvious that this is Bloomers absolute passion in life and they smash it with flying colours every time.

Great bakers the size of cakes and choice is fantastic. Freshly baked bread and rolls each day. Great choice of food, Breakfast worth every penny and you won't leave hungry. Great choice of meals and can take away also good choice of sandwiches and filled rolls. Staff very welcoming and helpful feel part of the family.

This cafe is quite amazing! The food is incredibly nice and the staff are nicer! Only costs £3.80 for a full English. They did take longer than expected to get my food but they were quick to apologise. They gave me a little extra on my breakfast and gave me a free cake. Food was great, service was great, staff were friendly!

Butchers bacon, sausage and black pudding make this one of the best cafe breakfasts in Norwich. With great coffee and prices this is a must for lovers of the good old fashioned full English

This is a cafe not a café. From the outside and the location, you don't expect anything much but it is great. You go here to eat not to swipe your phone with yummymummies. The welcome is friendly. Really friendly. And the food is fabulous. I had the small breakfast: two sausages, two rashers of bacon, hash brown, fried egg, tomatoes or beans and freshly baked bread or toast for £3.90. The bacon and sausages are very high quality from the butcher across the square. My friend had a bacon pastry which he said was delicious. Two mugs of strong tea and two cups of fresh bean coffee later, which my friend said were much better than most of the pretentious and expensive local cafés with the é, and we left full and with change from £10 for the two of us. Outstanding.

As always a lovely hot cooked breakfast and they will cook to your personal requirements. Sausages, bacon and eggs all fresh from a local butchers. Fresh mushrooms. Toast lovely and thick with melting butter. Excellent value.

Fantastic bakery all baked on premises Cakes, Bread, Rolls and savouries. Great breakfasts, filled rolls, Burgers all tasty. Marcus is a great baker & friendly and Janine friendly and caring. Love going to see them as always welcomed like family.

Really great freindly service and very good quality. Filled me with a massive breakfast then wash it down with nice cup of tea. Prices are very good. I have had bacon rolls from here since they opend as a takeaway and always enjoyed them I cant find anything bad to say about my experances here. Very nice family ran bakery

I've just starting coming here more regularly, each and every time the food is great, made to order, everyone seems really friendly and there is such a warm atmosphere. In a world of mass produced, copy and paste franchises bloomers is an absolute gem.

Again I popped in to bloomers and Danish for a break fast with my son..and since my last review the breakfast if possible tasted better really tasty..fantastic friendly service and awesome value thanks again

The fact that the bread is freshly made on the premises is a great bonus. Also, the choice of breakfasts is very good and my husband appreciated the ‘build your own’ opportunity! The sausages are sourced from the butcher, PB George, opposite the café (no food miles there!) and the eggs and mushrooms accompanying them were beautifully cooked. I had a cheese, ham and tomato bap which was a real treat. Proper, tasty cheddar and plenty of it. Certainly didn’t need any lunch after that! It is a very good value café with extremely caring and friendly owners who told us very proudly that they’d been there for twenty years. That’s quite a claim to fame these days and I sincerely hope they’ll continue for the next 20!

Bloomers and danish is such a lovely little cafe/bakery! Their breakfasts are incredible and very reasonably priced, especially the vegetarian option which has so much of everything on the plate it brings a smile to my face always. Not to mention the staff are so friendly and welcoming they never fail to brighten up your day!! :) 5 stars guys

It was some time ago that I first found this little gem of a place. So I thought it might be a good idea to see if anything has changed for better or worse. I am happy to say that it was every bit as good as the first time I went. This brilliant little place is both a thriving Bakery and a superb little Cafe. The owners are Marcus who is a Master Baker and his wife Janine a super Cook . The range of breads, cakes and pastries that are baked fresh each day is extensive and I can vouch for their being delicious. Marcus is genuinely an awesome Baker!.Another interesting point is that all meat products used are sourced from George the Butchers which is opposite the cafe. They are regarded as one of the best butchers in Norwich and supply only the very highest quality meats.The thing that really sets this little place apart from others is that it is quite simply the friendliest cafe I have ever been in!. Janine is so nice and helpful ( and I assure you it is totally genuine) as well as being a very good cook.If you are in the area give this " little gem " a try you won't be disappointed. If you are really hungry try the "Full English Breakfast " it is legendary locally.

Great place tucked away in the square. Run by a lovely couple who are very welcoming and accommodating. I have been coming here with some friends for over a year now. Their breakfasts are amazing, and such great value. Bacon and sausages are supplied but the local butchers and are very good quality. Provides instant and fresh bean coffee, and a huge selection of cakes and other delicious treats. :)

As a recent regular the Full English breakfast for only 3.80 keeps bringing me back. For that price you would expect plastic sausages but they are proper butchers ones, and the bread is good thick cut too. Once finished it is hard to leave without buying a treat or two from the counter! The owners and staff are all extremely welcoming and forthcoming with chat, but never imposing. So happy I found this place!

Found this by accident. Extremely good value for money especially the full English although the array of toasties, pastries bread rolls and savouries is impressive. Not the Ritz but the food coupled with the very friendly efficient bubbly staff made my mid morning meal a pleasure.

I visited a friend in Norwich and she raved about this place and so we all went for breakfast, kids in tow. The woman who runs it is the most welcoming café owner I've ever had the pleasure to meet. Not only did she provide a bang tidy fry up and entertain the kids, she also packed my son and I up a lunch for our long coach trip back home. Workmen must love this place! An eclectic local customer base, all just as welcoming to us "outsiders". I snapped up some baked goods as I couldn't resist them, even though I was so full from the enormous fry up. I will most definitely be making trips here every time I visit Norwich. Warm, homely, welcoming, great food and amazing prices.

I went back after being so surprised by this place. I placed and order for a huge cinnamon bun for a celebration (pictures to follow) I stopped for lunch again and it was brilliant. Cant fault this place. We will be here daily for our breads and the odd treat but with the variety here, its hard to choose! Pasties etc are fantastic also, you get your moneys worth. Ive notice they also do home cooked food which you can take home for the freezer.

I use this cafe regularly, it becomes more of a home from home than just a place to eat and drink. Janine who runs the cafe is an utter delight, kind generous and a dammed fine cook. Her husband Marcus is a highly skiled baker and cake maker. The prices are very resonable, the food and drinks excellent and the banter is great fun. Not to be missed.

At first, like most probably, i was unsure of this place as it seemed dark and the locals probably dominated it. WRONG. It is brilliant. Im a fussy eater but the lady who runs the place (i think her husband is the baker?) was ridiculously accommodating and just lovely altogether. She said she had been there 17 years which i was surprised by as the cafe across from it changes hands yearly. The rapour between staff and locals was lovely as some people where clearly vulnerable and probably wouldn't get such a welcoming service elsewhere. This is a proper cafe and my fry up was £3.40!! I go there weekly now with my young children, they love the place. The cakes and breads are freshly baked there and are brilliant although it can be deadly! I noticed work men where very impressed with the baps done there, they are the size of your head and can be packed. The woman running this place deserves acknowledgment for this please, its the best. Unless you want over priced in a fancy sterile environment, come here.

Stopped in here for some breakfast and was greeted by the friendliest lady I had ever met in a cafe. She took our order and brought over a delicious banquet of two proper sausages, two bacon, two eggs, 2 slices SUPER thick white toast and beautifully cooked mushrooms along with a mug of proper mum-made tea!! An absolute diamond in the rough!!

With an hour to spare while waiting for a repair on car (Wilco just around the corner) I found this great "greasy spoon" for a full english. Only a small place (a few tables inside and out) with fresh sandwiches, bread, and cakes with a home made touch (looked fab).Friendly service and proper coffee too.The full english was great, and good value for money. Egg, 2x sausage, 2xbacon, mushrooms, beans/tomato, hash brown and thick sliced fresh bloomer.Would definitely eat here again :)
