Blind Spot in City of London, Westminster

We’re regulars here as it’s convenient for a pre-theatre drink. Unfortunately, the service on this occasion (Saturday 12 Oct 2024, 5pm) was unfriendly and quite rude. For a premium price, we would expect better.

Receptionist is horrible. I still don’t understand why she is giving us side table while we booked 2 weeks ahead for birthday drinks , whilst so many empty table there for hours . Also she just lie to say those are for group of 6 . Apparently not as she arranged table for 4 and table for 3 later on. She also ingored us when we ask for drinks menu for 2nd round. Manager is providing good service although we waited him to gave us bill for about 20mins ( he is too busy maybe forgot). I made complaint about the host . Manager accept my comments, bring us free birthday cakes and drinks. Also remove the service charge therefore I gave 3 stars instead of 1 star. I don’t think we will go back again as the receptionist let us feel sick.

Visited on a Saturday night and I was impressed by the interior decor, ambience and vibe. It's very spacious, the selection of cocktails is impressive and the music was really pleasant. It seems to be a hot spot for dates also. There were a few people dancing occasionally in front of the DJ and the atmosphere was friendly. I'll visit again

Service was nothing like what it should be for a luxury hotel bar. We didn’t have a reservation and were told we needed to sit at a high table (which was uncomfortable) because they were fully booked however we were really asking to be at a low table. We had a drink and were there for about an hour and there were lower tables which were clearly available but not offered to us. We would’ve liked to stay but will not be returning because of this, we wouldn’t have minded sitting down and then moving if any reservations might have arrived however this wasn’t an option to them. we were there and saw tables become free and it was also late at night so it just didn’t add up to be perfectly honest. Felt that we weren’t treated as others were.

The food was just so so and very over priced. The Nicoise sald is a side dish at best but in the main dish section. Very underwhelming.

We were lucky to find this wonderful spot in town. A friend joined us there and we had tremendous fun. Cleverson did a great job serving us. We'll return, for sure!

Great hidden bar in the middle of the humdrum of London. Quirky entrance in the hotel lobby, going through to a dark seductive cocktail bar. Cocktails and service were great

Nice "speakeasy" (you won't find it if you don't know, but you can make reservations and there is a reception counter) with a nice vibe (heavy leather interior, jazzy music, dim lighting). Unfortunately, the service was a bit on the slower side despite having to wait on only six patrons or so. The theme on the drinks (Harbours of the world) is a clever idea, but the drinks were not too exciting after all. The food, priced at GBP24 for three sorts of bites, was mediocre, although nicely presented. The fried calamari rings were a bit tough and the Bruschetta was, well, plain old Bruschetta despite the fancy name on the menu. The Salmon bites were quite nice. Overall, would recommend for the vibe but not for the food and drinks.

I ordered an old fashioned first which wasn’t on the menu but was still catred for by the amazing staff and another drink which ive forgotten what it was called, i enjoyed both drinks but my partner didn’t enjoy hers and the staff was great helping recommend a drink which she loved (the sydney) and i then ordered the copenhagen which i very much enjoyed. at around 9pm the dj arrived and excelled the atmosphere overall a great bar, great concept with great staff and drinks and atmosphere

Stayed in the hotel for the third time and this was the first time in the Blind Spot. Fantastic gem. Lovely atmosphere with great attentative staff who were very helpful. Especially Cleverson who looked after us very well. We had cocktails and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Highly recommendable.

Unfriendly staffs, unintime services

The first I came here I loved it, the second time wasn’t as good - my reservation was cancelled by the bar for no apparent reason just an hour before (I then rebooked for a slightly later time and it was ok), it was also disappointing to see that some drinks that they used to serve have been taken off the menu. The staff were very friendly though confused at times. Cocktails were tasty but too much ice too little drink. Overall a nice place though, it’s not too loud and the interior looks pretty

If I could give zero stars, I would…another party of four used our reservation of two under my partner’s name. When we arrived for our reservation, the host tells us that we were already there and that the reservation had not only been changed by the supervisor to accommodate four people, but they took ours! We spoke to the manager afterwards, who literally had no regard, care or interest in the complaint. So, we left…didn’t want to give €1 to this establishment.

This is a quiet bar I’d like to keep a secret. Low lighting, delicious cocktails, comfortable seating. They even brought us a delicious anniversary dessert. Top marks.

We were looking for a restaurant near St. Martin’s Theatre with great reviews. We tried the thyme and lemon chicken … delicious …chocolate stuffed morel was an amazing surprise. Juliana was very professional, attentive, and helpful. We enjoyed our dinner! Thank you!

Gutted to have to update my review but returned to this place and it really disappointed after a great first experience! The staff were great. One drink was lovely but the other came in a short glass overflowing with so much crushed ice you couldn’t drink it through the straw, and the ice rapidly melted into the drink which was tiny to begin with so just turned to watery blandness in minutes. When I asked they did put it on regular ice for me so that was great, but I do think at this price point (£16) I would not expect crushed ice especially in a short drink. The worst thing though was the food. There’s a deal for 3 plates for £24, be warned the menu on the website is different and cheaper! The calamari dish was THREE pieces, which were breaded and soggy and did not seem fresh at all, for £8! The “tacos” were actually 4 tiny tostadas with a blob of creamy filling that again didn’t taste fresh. Bruschetta was on 4 stale mini toasts. I was honestly shocked by how bad it was, but too hungry to send it back and didn’t want to complain again after the issue with the drink. Such a shame as the bar is beautiful and the service is good but I really can’t recommend.

Extremely mid cocktail bar. Feels like an airport lounge. Service is bizarre as well, all the staff somehow managed to be incredibly attentive and incompetent at the same time? Loads of better spots in the area.

A really enjoyable little speakeasy that reminded of Montreal. Wonderful ambiance and a great place for a couple drinks. Big shout out to Cleverson - he really went above and beyond and was a pleasure to meet. Will be back as soon as I can!

Some great cocktails with really good atmosphere and music

What an incredible night we had! Our hostess "Manon" was incredibly friendly,helpful and knowledgeable regarding cocktails! Thanks to her I had 2 of the best drinks I've had in a while. The dj was incredible and the ambiance was on another level. Honestly we had the night of our lives! Can't wait to go back

I'm not sure I liked this place very much. I had a reservation before arriving, and I was NOT notified at the time of making the reservation that it was limited to an hour and a half. At the 45-minute mark, the hostess informed us that we have 45 minutes left on our booking, which absolutely ruined the rest of the 45 minutes we even had left because now we had to think about where to go on a Saturday night. The cocktails were decent. I liked the interiors a lot (I've been to a lot of places designed by Phillipe Starck so it was nice to go to another one). The service was patchy and I think one of the waiters was having a pretty bad day. People were sufficiently dressed up to come here, so that was nice to see. I personally wouldn't come back. It's strange to have an 1.5 hours per table policy, even with a reservation, outside of Covid. I'm sure the staff tried their best but meh.

Very very good experience. Definitely a hole in the wall with nice music and dimmed lighting. Recommend family and friend gatherings after a tough day of work. Furthermore recommend this as a first date hot spot. Truly special cocktails! Namely Kyoto was fantastic and creative.

The manager was extremely rude and completely disrespectful. I had a reservation that he cancelled in front of us because he didn’t want to serve so many people. I booked days in advance and had multiple confirmations. He was forcing us to buy bottles of champagne at a cocktail bar because he didn’t want to make cocktails. Completely refused to hear reason and outright rude

It's hidden away in a hotel, which makes you wonder if you're in the right place but once you're in it has a great atmosphere. Expect the drinks to cost a lot and the snack dishes not to be huge but they are great. The only let down was being told our booking was over and we would have to leave. We wouldn't have minded if the bar was full but it was at best only half full and we were wanting to buy more drinks.

I am so mad at this. The server bumped into our table and knocked over my friend's drink, spilling the drink all over the table and his trousers. He had more than half a glass left and we asked for a replacement. Today when I was reviewing the receipt and to my absolute suprise they had the audacity to still charge us for the replacement drink, was assuming the replacement drink would be for free. Horrible service, never again

We had an incredible evening at The Blind Spot, Iuliana looked after us extremely well, professional and super friendly. The small plates were outstanding and the cocktails went down very easily. We will certainly be back to dance the night away!

Great cocktail bar with some very different cocktails. We really enjoyed our experience and the vibe of the venue overall. Even though we didn't have a reservation we were lucky they were so accommodating since we were staying in the hotel. The staff was very nice and attentive and the music was a great variety that was very enjoyable to listen to while chatting.

Great vibe and lovely staff! Cocktails are all around 15/16 which is standard for London and all food was very reasonably priced around £8 each for such great portions. Went on NYE, it was my friends birthday and they even bought a cake and sang happy birthday for her! Such a lovely place and super relaxed, will def return.

This is a very good cocktail bar with amazing cocktails. Great service, everyone was very attentive. From the management (cleverson) to the waiter (Esteban) all very professional and friendly. Good place to go with friends or for a date. Cocktails taste very good. Definitely will come back again.

Kissing and Telling again! Blind Spot is a hidden gem. Yes, going back to the Blind Spot nestled inside The St Martin’s Lane Hotel was a must do on our trip back to London. We hoped we'd see James again but were happy to meet Max and Joao. It is just a perfect place for cocktails and appetizers before the theatre. This hidden gem is gorgeous and comfortable. And, the food yummy yes but the real reason is that the staff make you feel so welcome and pampered. Thank you Max and Joao! We really appreciate your great service and wonderful hospitality.

Secret bar in the lobby of a hotel (I think?). Charming entrace with a small, easily missed golden hand ushering you in. Welcoming staff, nice vibe. Not sure it's fair to mark it down because of price when the majority of London cocktails are ~£15 but this was my main/only gripe.

Very average cocktail bar. Drinks OK. Price fine. Service indifferent and food poor (a little cold). I think they need more staff but I'm still not sure I'd recommend this one.

A sophisticated, stylish lounge with solid cocktails some of the best bar snacks I've ever had. Yes, it's another one of those "secret" bars. (It's not a secret, really. The doorman asks you straight up if you're looking for Blind Spot.) If you're not sure, just go into the hotel and straight ahead in the alcove with all the bottles on the wall, there will be a really nice doorman. He's super nice, which is so refreshing in a city stuffed full of pretentious, control-freak security guards. The bar itself is dimly lit. The vibe is very refined and classy yet still casual and relaxed enough that it stays firmly in the unpretentious side of cocktail lounges. There's a mix of clientele from artists, to theatre goers, to finance bros and lawyers, to well-off young millennials. It's not a place for sportswear, raucous hen parties, or a filthy lad's night out. It has standards, especially as it is inside a 5-star luxury hotel. Music is from a live DJ, and when we visited, he was spinning some serious Tulum vibes, which I love. The vibe is A+. Prices are reasonable, considering the venue and location -- and the proper quality of the drinks. Very well-balanced, and enough punch that you can actually feel the booze after 1 or 2 (rare in London). The bar snacks were... a revelation? Not sure how else to put it. Maybe we were just starving but they were hands down the most delicious snacks we've ever had at any bar. There were a few weaker ones (the duck confit croquettes come to mind). But the okra is to die for! Chicken bites, frites, sprats... all good. Service was good, but a little spotty at times. But when they were attentive, they were super helpful finding us the best cocktail for our tastes and providing custom ones as well! It's definitely a bar to check out if you like legit good drinks and awesome snacks to go along with them. It was such a delightful experience that we strongly considered returning again the next night. We will be back when in town again.

Booked for a group on a Friday night. They were clearly stretched for staff because it was difficult to make an order for cocktails: no one approached us to ask if we wanted to order drinks or food. We had to vie to get attention and even when we asked about food the waiting staff were fairly dismissive. We also asked for tap water, which was offered when we ordered booze, but it never arrived. Eventually one person who was very thirsty went to the bar to get water and our waiter told her to go back to her seat and wait; thankfully, the bartender did offer her some water from a jug. The cocktail menu is positively creative, featuring spirits from cities around the world. However, the end results did not really seem to do the concept justice. I ordered an off-piste Bloody Mary and can confidently say it was the worst example I'd experienced, including airline efforts. Our group had a restaurant reservation, meaning we had just under one and a half hours there in total. We struggled to get two rounds in because the service was so sloppy. Two stars? At least the reception staff were helpful and I want to be kind.

It is said that ...."We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.”....this holds true for the staff at The Blind Spot. You can't find better people that make you feel welcome than this fine group of professionals. They are all amazing. Stand outs include the fantastic and beautiful Annalise, the attentive and personable Daniel, the helpful and enthusiastic Esteban, the terrific and wonderful Roxanna & Clavision. The entire staff is a well oiled machine that truly cares about their clients as well as the experience they are responsible for delivering. One of the best groups that I have ever experienced. By the way the food, drinks and atmosphere are awesome as well. The next time I'm in town, I will definitely return!

One of my go to bars in London. Just generally all around decent. I can't say anything is extra ordinary, but I'm giving it 5 stars because it's consistently good. Great atmosphere, perfect for a date or chilling in a small group with friends.

I don’t know why this is on google maps if you have to be a guest of the hotel to go here. Staff was incredibly rude and after telling us which direction to go for the bar, acted like we were trying to break into the hotel and offered zero hospitality and assistance in attending the bar attached to their hotel.
