Dropped in for 2 coffees and a toastie to share. Coffees came about 5 mins after ordering then a 15min wait for the toastie. I asked for our coffees to be warmed up due to the wait, which the waitress said was no problem. On going to pay the bill came to £21 plus. On querying the cost I asked for a breakdown and saw we had been charged twice for the coffees! The waitress stated that due to "health and safety" they couldn't reheat the coffees and had to make them fresh therefore need to charge twice. When I asked why this wasn't explained when requested she shrugged and stated that was their policy and that I should have asked to hold the coffees till the food was served. I said if I had been informed when ordering that their was a wait I would have, again if this had been explained. I asked for a refund, which she refused. I asked to speak to the manager to which she stated that she was the manager! Her only offer was that I could ask for free drinks on my next visit. Since the cafe is about an hours drive from home a next visit could be some months away, so how was that going to work? Shocking customer service. Wont be back. At least Dick Turpin wore a mask!!!!!!

We popped into the coffee bothy for a takeaway order a few weeks ago. We were served quickly and the waitress was lovely. We ordered 2 portions of soup & 2 toasties all to takeaway. We were charged £19.80 - which at the time I did feel was expensive but had heard good things and was staying positive. After around a 20 min wait we were given our bag of food and we headed out to the car to eat our lunch. All I can describe this as is daylight robbery. I opened up the bag to see two toasted sandwiches wrapped up in tinfoil - for the price we paid I was expecting a takeaway box with a nicely presented toastie and side salad. The soup was a takeaway cup size which I appreciate is probably standard and it was tasty. To make matters worse the chicken inside the toasties was of terrible quality, very rubbery and chewy and the cheap mayo wasn’t much better. Shame as this place looked really nice, however the prices they are charging definitely don’t match the portion or quality of food they are producing.

We went for Sunday morning brunch and had a wonderful meal and an equally great wander around the shop.It was very busy when we went in and, although we got a table quickly, a large group had just ordered and it took a while for our meals to come - perfectly understandable. Two of us went to look in the store meantime while the staff served our third party member their coffee and cake. Great service. When our meals did come, the scrambled eggs with avocado and sundried tomatoes were simply delicious. The tomatoes - oven-dried actually, were so wonderfully intense and tomatoey and made a real point of different on the eggs, which were delicious in their own right.Another had the French toast which was also lovely though ever so slightly dry. The fruit slice and the fudge cheesecake were both excellent and all meals were of a generous size. The coffee was judged to be great.Service could not be faulted. It was friendly and helpful despite the busyness of the cafe. There are plenty of tables and a separate ‘express’ area if you’re just looking for coffee and cake or similar items not on the menu. The areas are spacious with many tables and some separate closed off areas that appear to be able to be booked. The accompanying shop has a simply excellent range of goods and I couldn’t begin to document it all from furniture to frozen meals, to souvenirs, wines, dry goods, fresh foods etc. A great place to go.

Surroundings and views lovely, staff welcoming but nothing vegan or healthy on the menu, except salad, when I asked the girl she didn’t know what to offer apart from some soup, not her fault but the owners, overpriced for what was on the plate with frozen chips being the only thing I could have with a tiny bit of salad covered in a horrible sauce which should never happen, always in a separate dish, don’t even know what what the ingredients were, asked to be without cucumber, came with plenty, staff asked if I wanted it taken out but at that point after waiting for a while for nothing special just said don’t bother, overpriced for all the dishes and small portions also, shame as great staff, but poor quality food, surprisingly we never had coffee and cake, couldn’t wait to leave.

Came with locally-based friends who visit here fairly regularly. On arrival the business of the car park suggested a wait might be in order. Enquiry suggested that the wait would be about 20 minutes. I personally would have found an alternative at that point, but we elected to wait and were able to put in the time (in fact 25+ minutes), looking at kitchenware in the farm shop as my friends had a gift to hunt for. This meant the time hung a little less heavy on our hands. Once seated we all opted for the soup and sandwich combo, which was good honest fare, and hit the spot.

We visited twice during our holiday. Arriving early as it gets very busy. Both car park and cafe. First time had sandwiches and the second venison casserole off the specials board. Both were very tasty and enjoyable. Large array of cakes which we resisted, although did buy some empire biscuits to take away. Waitresses helpful and friendly. Given how busy the cafe was on both our midweek visits, it must have a good reputation. The farm shop has an interesting range of products.

Visited blairmains for an impromptu lunch with my 10 year old son. I have been here many times before. My son wanted a cheese toastie (he’s not the most adventurous) and I went for the chicken satay with flatbread. The food arrived and the toastie looked nice, as my son picked it up runny cheese started dripping out. The cheese looked as if it had curdled - not appetising at all. Chicken satay did not resemble any satay I’ve ever eaten. Satay sauce should be thick, sticky, rich in peanut flavour. My chicken was swimming in a pale watery sauce that had a hint of nut flavour. We sent the toastie back straight away, the waitress was lovely and offered us something else. My son opted for the lasagna, you can’t get that wrong. Well apparently you can...swimming in sauce, with a small amount of mince. Totally unappetising. As I left to pay the waitress asked how the lasagna was and I told her it wasn’t great either, was still charged for it. Overall, It’s a great place for cake and coffee - the cakes are usually outstanding but I won’t eat a lunch in there again.

When we did eventually order, my mother asked for her bacon really crispy, 'almost burnt' - our waitress seemed to understand but we had to send it back three times, each time it looked no more cooked, so she just ate it. Had to take a ticket and queue to get in, wish I hadn't bothered. After 20 min wait shown to table and given menu. The menu was uninspiring to say the least. Waitress came over to take order and informed us that Steak pie was the special. I ordered the Steak pie while my wife ordered Mac n cheese. When they arrived the Steak pie was 6 small pieces of meat hidden beneath a separate square of pastry and lots of gravy. The chips were the same as Macdonalds, and the whole meal not very warm. The Mac n cheese was in a bowl with the same MacDonald's chips and a small salad on the plate. Along with two soft drinks the bill came to £19.95 . In all expensive for what we had. Certainly not worth the wait.

We had just attended a family affair and decided to go for lunch to the Toby Restaurant in Stirling only to find it was no longer there. As a result my sister suggested Blairmains, It must have been devine intervention because it was excellent. Braised Steak for me and a bacon and cheese toastie with salad, lettuce and crisps oh aye and a very nice cup of tea. I will definitely return.

This jewel is a lovely surprise, such variation in lovely surroundings. We had a hearty chicken broth, followed by salmon & prawn fish cakes both to the highest quality.

Visited together with good friends for breakfast. Loved maple syrup with bacon and waffles. Friendly staff even put up with my awful jokes (sure they have heard it all before).

We visited here for lunch on a day that turned out to be their festival day, so it was very busy. We ordered 2 sandwiches, one was tuna and the other cheese and pickle. The bread was homemade, both fillings were overflowing and absolutely delicious.

Went to the farm shop to find local cheeses but none available, lots of other local food, and beautiful furniture at reasonable prices. As well there was lots of gift items, coffee shop and restaurant which were both busy, always a good sign. Loved the slate figures out the front near the parking area. Also looking for spurtles for gift but there was none available. Would definitely recommend this farm shop for a visit .

You could easily miss this place as it is well set back from the main road but it is well worth visiting, especially as The Hillfoots area is not well served for good quality food an snacks. The coffee bothy was perfect as a stop-off on our journey. The service was fast and friendly, the menu varied enough to have something for everyone. And the farm shop was a revelation - what an enormous range of foods and gifts they have. Again, totally unexpected when you realise it's so hidden from the road. Best of all for us was that it was open on a Sunday when many other places are not. We'll definitely be back.

This busy little bothy serves wonderful wholesome food at a reasonable price with a great big smile. The attached farm shop is a great place to pick up some lovely local produce.

I have been here several times and have never been disappointed. It can be very busy over lunchtime, so be prepared to wait for a table. It is worth the wait. Service is always great.

Visited several times and always enjoyed the food; there is a varied menu to choose from; this visit we had a crispy bacon roll, service tended to be a bit slow but worth waiting for [you know it is being cooked to your specification and not simply taken from pre-cooked] it was crammed with bacon and cooked to perfection. Well stocked farm food shop. When in the area we always make a point of stopping here.

We have eaten at this Bothy on a number of occasions and have found the food to be excellent. There is plenty of parking, the staff are really friendly, the shop is packed with high quality food (and furniture but if you are a visitor this doesn't apply) and fresh home grown vegetables. There are also ready-made meals of good quality. Well worth a visit.

Although the restaurant was very busy we didn't have long to wait on a table. The food was delicious - I had the curry which was outstanding! Would highly recommend it. Visit there quite often and the home baking is yummy and the breakfast rolls and coffee are great. The farm shop is worth a wander round with a great range of food plus gifts and cards and some beautiful furniture too. Friendly staff! Well worth a visit!

Coming along the main road towards Tillicoultry we noticed a sign pointing to the Coffee Bothy. Intrigued, we paid it a visit. There's a well stocked farm shop, an unexpected local furniture outlet and coffee shop as well as a restaurant. The coffee was pleasant and the coffee cake was first class. My slice was huge. Good value for money and excellent service. This establishment also sells gifts for ladies; handbags, scarves, jewellery and wraps. It also has the nicest toilets I've seen in a long time. I believe there is a B&B; around behind the shop if you wish to use this place as a base for visiting the stunning countryside.

Gracias

We popped in here for lunch while passing for the first time and were glad we did. The service was good, very quick and efficient, staff were very friendly. There is a good selection on the menu and even a dog menu, which our dogs loved! The soup was delicious and toasties were tasty but a little burnt around the sides so we couldn't even bite into some of them. They have no disabled parking which is disappointing. We will definitely pop in again if passing!
