Very lovely server here helped me on a Monday to get my £2 student drink as UNiDAYS wasn’t working properly! He was so friendly and made my day. Great atmosphere in the cafe too :)

I was pleasantly surprised by this coffee shop having those order screens. It's often pretty busy and loud in cafés, so I enjoyed being able to take my time browsing the menu and ordering without having to shout over the till at some poor soul. The order arrived quickly, and I enjoyed my bagel and smoothie, while my friend had a good waffle and sandwich. The murals were fun.

The coffee here is the best in the area. Plenty of room to use my laptop. Service is friendly, but the wait can take over 10 minutes if you come during a rush. Still it's worth the wait.

The coffee was good yes, croissant was OK. Didn't like the screen based ordering that made you feel like you were in Macdonalds and the seating was just too cramped making you feel like you could only stay for 5 minutes.

This coffee store is situated in a handy spot for shoppers and offers a spacious toilet facility, which I found to be clean. However, based on the size of the ceramic cup provided for a medium flat white coffee and the price of my chai latte, I thought that the hot drinks were fiendishly expensive (both over four pounds). The impersonal approach from the person who prepared the drinks was disappointing. I had to ask for instructions on their responsibilities, whereas a pleasant welcome, while pointing me to the screens, etc. would have been much better. The shouting out of customer names while they are seated is problematic. One name was wrongly pronounced and even before this, it was difficult to hear what was being shouted, probably partly due to the noise from the background music, which was too loud. The drinks were pleasant to taste, but not outstanding, despite the costs. I noticed that the store was not attracting a lot of customers, which provided some privacy on my visit but did not seem to be a healthy sign, given the day, time of day and location. The range of eats is quite limited and on my visit, seemed to be mainly sweet treats.

No customer service, no interaction with any customers, just staff flirting with each other. When your coffee is ready they just shout out your name once, you order at a point on the wall a touch screen. So no staff have to talk to customers at all, really bad!

Was recommended here as I am celiac and they have a gf menu. As we were unsure what time we would be going (prior commitment before hand) I did not book. We arrived at 2.45pm and there was a sign outside saying 'bookings only, no walk ins' This was NOT on their website. We went in and spoke to a female member of staff who advised exactly what the sign had said. I then spoke to a male member of staff and asked where on their website it stated what the sign said, he said it didn't. Advised that due to rugby being on, they were unusually busy. The restaurant is large and they were not full to capacity. Asked if there was anyway we could have a table for 2 for an hour, point blank told no. We won't be returning.

Booked in the restaurant for our 20th Wedding Anniversary. We weren’t staying at the hotel but did add that we were celebrating upon booking. We arrived early expecting to have a drink at the bar but the table was ready for us. We received a complimentary glass of champagne each on arrival. The staff were fantastic and couldn’t have done more. They even sorted us out with a special dessert to help celebrate the occasion. The food was to a high standard and the portion size was perfect. Altogether a fantastic meal and exemplary service.

We approached the café at 9am with laundry and were greeted by four Scottish Terriers who were apparently running the place, until Graham arrived up the stairs to ask what the heck we wanted...and we knew immediately we were in the right place! I've read some of the reviews, and if you don't understand Graham in the first 5 seconds of him opening his mouth, you don't deserve to be there...and I am pretty sure Graham will know/sense it himself. I think he relishes poor reviews. But we felt immediately at home, and once we passed the "test", Graham was the perfect host. I had to put up with insults on my lack of fashion sense and some uncomfortable history lessons regarding the villainy of George Washington, but my wife and I would not trade our experience for anything! Graham practically did our laundry for us, made us coffee, and even gave me a lovely (empty) can of haggis. Thank you for the experience Graham! I hope you enjoy the US Dollar Bill (with Washington on it)...and I won't forget that American history is really Scottish history!
