I’ve been a customer of Black Sheep Coffee for around two years now as they make the best matcha latte i’ve ever tried and are open from 6.30am. Great discount for students, and the staff are so lovely. I’m usually there pretty early and am either served by Hannah or a lovely guy that works there (i’m awful at names🤦🏻‍♀️) and they always remember my order, chat with me and are just great in general. Wouldn’t go anywhere else! Excellent drink selection and customer service.

A very efficient black sheep, the staff are always spot on and reliable, especially for pick up orders! The tall lad with dark hair, I don’t know his name, but his customer service is always great!

Beautiful place food amazing great products & prices.

Coffee actually quite nice , choose the arabica bean option. Matcha drink also quite good - staff know what they're doing when making drinks , and know how to steam milk nicely which is always good. With student discount as well, black sheep proves to be the most appealing of the coffee chains.

Milk overs spilt and the barista didn't even bother to clean it. He also couldn't do latte art. Shame!

Coffee ok, ordering via screen was a pain as it wasn't quick or responsive. Shop was a bit grubby and dirty.

They have been out of cold drinks for a month and i haven't had their matcha in so long. Black sheep coffee is not the same without their iced matcha. Please bring it back. And don't run out ever again! Thank you.

My partner had a lionsmain coffee and hasn't shut up about it! Felt like I needed to leave a review as he's a massive coffee snob but loved it so much he had to go back the next day, and asked if there are any around where we live. Well done

Matcha is really good but they pretend that they never have ice at the Newcastle location because they don’t want to make as many drinks, especially when it’s the £2 deal on a monday

Bought a coffee to take away for £3.59 walked to get my train and it started leaking everywhere, lost half of it, what a waste of money. If you are going to charge that much then you need better cups

The waffles were great and the matcha was good. Wish there was more seating though. Staff were friendly.

I love this coffee shop and how customisable all the drinks are, i’ve been coming here every week for the past two years. Unfortunately there is one member of staff who is incredibly rude and I know people who have said the same as well, the rest of the staff are absolutely brilliant though and cope well with the rush of people on Mondays.

I nipped in for a coffee, and the store manager and staff were quick to welcome me. I was unsure what I wanted, but they explained the new drinks range to me and their benefits. They also let me have a sample as I was unsure of some flavours. I really appreciated their help and attentiveness. The coffee was lovely, and the place was clean and tidy throughout.

Got served by Hannah this morning in Newcastle/ lovely coffee and she was very friendly when I had questions :) (even though it was very early!) would deffo recommend! Bit pricey but worth it for a nice proper coffee.

i came in for food and the staff don’t even look twice at you. what happened to hi? hello? how are you? or even a “you’re welcome” or “enjoy” to my thank you so much and a smile? are you in pain? are you being tortured back there or something. i just don’t get it i’ve worked in customer service for years and it’s just natural to be welcoming is it not? anyway. the food itself was just not nice. i paid £8.50 or something for a latte that got cold straight away and was only warm to begin with. and a toastie that just didn’t taste good- cheap white bread that was raw on one entire side of the toastie. and the tomato chunks just did not go with it. it was the only thing that looked remotely okay to eat- the savoury selection on the menu needs to be much bigger. it’s a shame as this place is so cute inside and a nice vibe.

Very nice coffee. Self-service ordering is fairly easy to use. Coffee isn't under hot drinks on the menu. It's under coffee.🙄 Thanks to the member of staff who saw a middle-aged man struggling with technology and came to help.

Came into the store, during what seemed like peak hours. Very busy shop, was served by a girl called Liv, who was nothing but friendly courteous and amazing with her service even with what seemed like and endless cycle of coffee orders has made want to go back there again.

Went for coffee with my nan, decided to get some iced coffee because of the warm weather and was pleasantly refreshed

I had a really disappointing experience at Black Sheep Coffee in Newcastle upon Tyne. The customer service is shockingly bad, especially in the evenings. Although the store officially closes at 9 PM, the employee working the evening shift starts flipping chairs over as early as 7 or 7:30 PM, which makes it feel like they are rushing you out. The outside seating is even worse – it seems to be closed at 6 PM, despite the store being open until 9. There is no consistency either. On some days, they let us sit outside until 7:30 PM, and other days the seating is removed much earlier. It seems to depend entirely on the mood of the employee on duty. To make matters worse, the staff member was incredibly rude when speaking to us. There’s no excuse for treating customers poorly like this. It feels like they just can’t be bothered, which makes the whole experience quite frustrating. Would not recommend visiting in the evening!

I had a nice cup of tea here, while my three friends opted for coffees. We sat outside and listened to the street buskers around the corner while nursing hangovers. All this while being looked down upon by Earl Gray of tea fame upon his lofty pillar. I enjoyed the reasonably peaceful interlude we spent here, it was a fairly pleasant way of delaying the inevitable and lengthy daytime drinking session that followed.

I've been ordering breakfast from Black Sheep via deliveroo/ubereats for ages and have left a positive review previously, as I never had any issues before this. In fact, I'd have said it's one of the best cafeterias to get breakfast from, especially if you like Norwegian waffles. However today I must have had the absolute lowest quality breakfast delivered ever. I'm not sure what was going on, but my Hjertevafler arrived rock solid, cold and burnt to crisp (we're talking no bend whatsoever). I had it with strawberries and nutella, and the strawberries I received with this (also the first time this has ever happened) were legitimately a singular strawberry cut into 5 pieces, which is pretty laughable for 7 quid. For a drink, I ordered your standard iced matcha latte with oat milk. Unfortunately though, this tasted nothing like matcha and more like just bland oat milk. Not sure if preparation issue (too much milk or different matcha blend that wasn't astringent enough), but again, no issues with their matcha previously. I do hope it's just a one time thing, but your consistency has been the most appealing thing about the cafeteria, I'd much more appreciate getting my order declined if you're busy :( 20/09/2024

ordered and recieved my blueberry matcha latte not full having paid extra for large and it was also miss labled as a pumpkin spice matcha latte. the food was nice tho

Got a roll and a coffee, roll was alright not too different to a costa one. The coffee tho was scorching and the milk tasted soapy, haven't been able to drink it 15 minutes it's that hot, absolutely diabolical. Leave the heard behind? Nah you've left me behind with this molten bean water

Quality and quirky coffee shop located in Newcastle. There’s LOADS of customisable drinks, all of which can be ordered via the app or on their interactive screens. Service can be slow at times, but it’s worth it for how good the coffee is! You can even choose between a few options of beans depending on your taste preference!

Definitely my go to coffee shop in Newcastle- consistently delicious coffee and friendly staff. Relaxed atmosphere even when busy which is hard to find in a coffee shop! I appreciate the latte art too :)

For the price the food and the drinks are really worth it, really nice atmosphere to sit and eat and the staff are lovely

Black sheep is iconic, I love a weekly/daily yap here. The staff SERVE coffee and looks. 10/10 recommend. Also my boyfriends dog loves a pupchino, he gives 10/10 woofs xo

I love this place, me and my friends come here at least 3 times a week for our debriefs, yapping is abundant and the servers are all fantastic at their jobs! Nothin but immaculate vibes at this coffee shop and I kinda of want to live here

I had been to newcastle for a business meeting and had some of my clients with me as black sheep in london is the best place for meetings and to have a drink. But unfortunately this was the worst experience i could ever have as the staffs were rude especially the lady in the counter . Absolutely not customer friendly , not even greeting the customers while taking orders. I had to pay for something which dint actually come out the way i wanted . I ordered for something and got something else in return , all together it was the worst experience any customer could get. I hope the team gets notified about this as black sheep as a brand is the best in London but moving outer the service is really poor. I would rate zero out five for the service infact.

I use this branch about three days a week and almost exclusively use the app to pre-order my coffee so I can collect it between bus trips. The staff are always welcoming and have my order ready on time every time and the waffles are absolutely amazing. Would definitely recommend stopping by!

Staff were rude, no oat milk in 2 different occasions, very small seating area, no airflow in the place it’s suffocating, lots of homeless around be careful, pastry is freezing cold and they don’t have a microwave or anything to heat them so what’s the point of buying them? I might as well buy them from Tesco then.

Always love coming to black sheep coffee! Love all of the different types of coffee and variations you can have. Love that you can get a chocolate syrup!! How can I forget an iced chocolate! (Not many places do this). Best decaf caramel frappe I’ve ever had too. Great atmosphere and the staff are incredible and very friendly too, and very hardworking to add. Wish we had more scattered around rather than Starbucks and costa everywhere. Black sheep coffee is super tasty!

The atmosphere in here is fab, contrary to some of the one star reviews. The baristas are all lovely and friendly, especially the tall Charlie lad, made a lovely coconut latte - second to none in Newcastle!

This shop is so lovely! The staff are very friendly and the coffee is brilliant. I always go for a carrot cake and a latte. The carrot cake is my favourite!
