I ordered a 1/4 chicken 2 sides and drink when the order came i could not believe the size of the portion of chicken it was so small i said to the girl are you not embarrassed serving that you could see she didnt know what to say i should have gave it back if i hadn't paid for it id have walked out

Seating area full of feral weans chucking food and making a nuisance of themselves. Only one member of staff even attempted to deal with them. Chicken was tough. The hot lemon sauce was a bit meh! Fries were decent

Took a taxi here got bus home. The food Was delicious i was keeping it for home but could not resist. The piri piri chicken 🐔 chips and drink got well demolished before bus came. Was worth the travel 🙌🫶⭐💖🌈

Phoned ahead for collection I ordered Two whole chickens as meals Terrible Taste, chicken like cooked overnight and it’s been just reheated up when I ordered it, chicken is smelly as well as not juicy I’m mean too dry! Definitely I will take this restaurant out of my list of choices and would not back … I will look for another option

Always a great meal and with huge portion sizes of chicken you can never complain. Also love the extra sides with the fully loaded black rooster nachos, or the peri peri fully loaded fries. Over all great recommendation going here, I’m sure anyone won’t be disappointed with the taste and value for money, with either quick dine in meal, a takeaway or getting a home delivery.

I got a meal delivered to my house today from black rooster and there was a long brown hair in my sweet potato fries which put me off the whole meal and made me feel sick.

Waited a bit to get food but worth the wait food was great 👍

Unassuming shop on the outside but when I got home with my takeway (I ordered direct through the website and collected) and tasted it - really good, better than Nandos! Good portion size, neither too much or too little and the price was in line with what you get. Everything was great, the chicken was excellent - great flame grilled taste and homemade tasting peri peri sauce. The takeway was well packaged, staying hot until I got home. Just a couple wee things to note! The "Hot" sauce isn't what I'd call "hot" (I'd score it 🌶️🌶️ when I expected 🌶️🌶️🌶️) - the peri fries were 'hotter' than the chicken. So next time I'd go for extra hot. The peri fries were tasty but a little too salty. Also you can only pay in cash, which is a minor thing but I rarely use cash nowadays so would be good to be able to pay with card 💳

Hands down best chicken place for variety and taste, beats out nandos and pepe's easy. love the crispy strips with the chilli jam also the 10 boneless strips are amazing even with the more mild spices! keep it up!

Phoned for collection 5 piece chicken with extra mild sauce Well just as qell i ordered extra sauce, no sauce in bag chicken all dried up tasted like reheated,if i hadn't been back home id have taken it back, think they know this and hope people will just accept it, absolutely disgusting i only gave a star caui had to,don't go unless you check your meal before leaving

Not the first time a delivery was missing items.Delivery was 2 drinks short so emailed to ask for reimbursement , guess what no reply.Will not use this eaterie again , shame as the food is great

Ordered 3 meals..handed bagged with 2 drinks. Specified 3 meals they said just the drink that is missing will be 3 meals the bag. Get to the car low and behold no 3rd meal. How they can make these mistakes CONSTANTLY is beyond me.

The food was just yumm, the atmosphere in the restaurant was great too. We ordered over £100 pounds worth of food and it was definatly worth it. will make this our regular restaurant now.

Checked online at 10pm to see if I could or a delivery was able to so because I had a awkward order I thought I would phone to save the hassle when I called they said it was closed then I foned back to explain that it says it closes at 11pm they passed me onto what I think was a manager & WOW I would be nothing but embarrassed if I had an employee like that sounded like a 15year old steaming teenager disgrace the way she spoke on the phone & clearly false advertisement!!

Only dodgy businesses still operate on CASH ONLY during a pandemic. Told them to cancel my order. I am not going on an expedition to find a cash machine which is likely to charge. Especially when there isn't any cash machine in the immediate vicinity. Obviously some tax dodging going on. But strangely though your other branch in Pollokshields accepts card.

Waited an hour and 20 minutes, they didnt contact me so I went to the shop, girl says she called me (no missed call) The worst food iv ever tasted chicken was like rubber, kids pop corn chicken meal wasnt there, total waste if money I will never use them again. Staff couldn't care less

Food was fantastic didn't even have to pay as she dropped it on the floor again that's about 7 times that's happened free scran all round thanks.

Honestly, I was rather disappointed. Firstly, I ordered online on their own website and there was no way to pay via card. So I tried to pay when picking up my food to be told it was only cash and to use the Atm charging 99p. Inside, I was told I can phone to order to avoid the 50p service charge... (Again, it's their own website...) so £1.49 added for no good reason. Chicken was OK, a bit dry, onion rings tasted like the cheap frozen ones. Mozzarella Sticks and fries were decent.

I don't know what it is but unless you're wearing the latest top branded clobber, you get looked down in this "restaurant". Rude staff make for an unsatisfying experience as they ask you what you want as if you're on a 20 question shoot out. Take a second to think about what drink you want or how spicy you want your food and they'll huff and stare at you dead. I ordered a burger meal and waited 15 minutes for it, I decided to take away as I couldn't see a spot for me to sit due to all the young ones sitting around. 10 minutes pass and a blonde in a range rover velar rocks up with a baby. Straight into the kitchen they go and the staff is all over them, "you want chips hen? aw wit you sayn wee yin?" etc etc. She walks out with a plate full of chips, MASSIVE WAD OF CASH, whilst I'm sitting here like a mug still waiting on my £4 burger and chips 15 minutes later.. Not once did I see any of them wash their hands after getting in contact with the new arrivals. Lastly, the thing that really got me was when I asked the woman behind the counter if she could kindly bin my receipt as I didn't need it once I went to collect the food, she gave me a growler. As I walked out the shop, I heard her repeat the word receipt at least three times and one guy laughed. This was single handedly the worst experience I've ever had in a shop of this type and I won't be back. Remember your customers pay your wages. It doesn't cost to be friendly with customers..

Watching them clean the trays was enough for me, they would spray them with cleaning spray, pile them up then use blue roll to clean the top of them only. They would put paper on top of the tray then pop it on top of another tray with the bottom covered in spray...Not good..

Very poor standers have dropped, ordered my usual (chicken and rice box meal) witch comes to £7 barely any rice , barely any chicken and was swimming in sauce. 100% not worth the money.

Guys I don’t know about coming back here because I asked for hot and I think it was extra hot you guys gave me and I was so sweaty eating it lol so I might get mild next time incase I get hot so then I will get what I ordered because extra hot is too hot for me too nippy had to drink water to get rid of the hotness cos it was too hot

They are so rude they hanged up on us when we tried to make an order for delivery and when we were just about to ask them a question if they deliver. Bad stuff bad service never go or order from them.

Black Rooster is superb. I probably get a takeaway at the very least once a fortnight. Never had a bad meal and will always look forward to my next visit. An absolute gem.

Food is great! The overall quality is great and the taste is great! Food is prepared within a reasonable time and is reasonably priced! Can't ask for anything more!

Small portion sizes and only cash payment?????? Want some sauce for your fries? You better be prepared to pay😂 If this place could charge for napkins, it would. Pepes, chunky chicken, figos, peri-peri dot, Pedro's.... all are miles ahead of this place. 1 star is a compliment.

First time I have came to Black Rooster Govan and I wasn't impressed by the service as the woman who served me was very rude. Will definitely not be coming back.

Food was excellent; server at the till was not so excellent. She seemed in a bad mood and didnt seem approachable, as of trying to hurry customers to make decisions despite the shop being quiet.

I rarely leave any reviews but I was very disappointed with this place! Had heard mixed reviews from people but we were in the area and decided to give it a go. The member of staff who served us was unfriendly - 2 menus were thrown on the table and before we had sat down he had walked away without any explanation of how to order, etc. Food was okay, nothing special. I got a 'hot' double chicken burger and BBQ wings. I normally like hot food, but this burger was almost inedible as it tasted of raw spice. As a matter of principle I am very against restaurants that charge you for sauces but low and behold this place charges you for sauce, even ketchup. In my opinion that is scaffy and poor customer service, you want me to eat my burger and chips without any sauce? Probably a way to generate extra money and perhaps much needed as there were only 2 other tables apart from us on a weekend. Went to the toilet which had urine all over the floor and no soap. Didn't want to ask for extra soap incase I was charged for this aswell! Do not recommend!

This place is great, the chicken is so much better than other restaurants service similar foods in the area. My only thing they don't do deliveries but I understand they are busy enough without them.

Chicken done right. So you youve got spicy chicken in a range of sauces cooked beautifully to melt in the mouth perfection. I've been to the Pollokshaws Road branch before but had to check out my local East End spot. Ordered my usual wings platter to take away for lazy weekend. And sat in with a Quesidilia for myself and strips for the wean. Everything spot on. Service perfect. Just the Quesidilia was soft and I prefer crispy. Lovely otherwise. Buzzin..

Generous portions and moist spicy chicken at a good price.

Chicken was made to excellent standard and the service was great.

The food here is very yummy and very cheap. There are lots of spice options so if spicy stuff isn't your thing, you can still eat here. The fries are delicious. The booths for sitting in are nice and makes the place feel so much more cosy, and makes your meal feel much more private. I would have rated it 5 stars but the music is loud to the point that it can be difficult to hear other people speak and you have to raise your voice a fair bit. And you can't pay by card here, it has to be cash. There is a cash machine in the place, but it charges you to take out money. But if you have cash already and you are eating on your own, then I would rate this 5 stars.

My husband and I went to the Duke Street restaurant and was plesently surprised at the quality of food for the price, fresh hot chicken with plenty sauce (I like spicy and their hot version for almost too hot for me but I enjoyed that) it's a bust restaurant with not many seats, and difficult to park. But very nice inside, clean and lovely toilets.... We enjoyed it so much we decided to go to the paisley branch as this is a little closer to us, again lovely inside, polite staff and nice and clean, paisley branch is much larger than Duke St and has more seating... We were very excited for the meal again but was sadly disappointed, the chicken was very chewy as though it had been reheated, the food came within 5mins of ordering, the chips were cold and there was not much sauce... I would have complained but I seemed to have annoyed the staff already for changing one of the sides after initially ordering so felt uncomfortable to complain. We won't be going back to paisley anyway.

Food is great and so is staff but waiting time took me today an hour we ordered a kids meal chicken wrap and mozzerila sticks and it took an hour

For the first time visiting this place I can’t fault it. Lovely food, friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. Me an my friends all enjoyed what we got to eat and would all come back again keep up the good work guys!

don’t get the mango sauce , repeat don’t get the mango sauce it smells like cheap perfume in duty free. poor service. poor choice of food. poor everything pretty much. best thing about it was that it was edible. wouldn’t return. it’s hard for a sauce to be so appalling bad that it completely ruins the entire experience- horrific.

Too small couldn't get a seat and far too busy too wait so unable to rate fairly as never got to experience it, lack of parking and on a very busy street, easy to miss it

Great scran, on par with Nandos. As a bonus this is the best public bathroom I've used in my puff, this cannot be understated enough!

Very good chicken at very reasonable prices. The portions are quite large too. The flavour of the sauces is great but be aware they are quite spicy. I really like spicy food and the 'hot' sauce is almost too spicy for me, would recommend the mild. Not much seating inside and isn't the nicest places to sit in but great as a takeaway.

Food good but feel like in a nightclub with the music loudness. Also young boy with school uniform walking about kitchen helping himself out of fryer and drinks!

So first the good: Excellent food, better than Nandos. Friendly staff. The bad: sticky dirty tables and walls. No handdryer in the gents (mains cables sticking out the wall though), No bin to dispose of toiletroll you have to use instead. No vegetables or side salad with anything you order (but you can pay £2 for some coleslaw!) 30p for a tiny tub of the cheapest mayonnaise that Costco can provide. Decor is ok but alot of empty space. Also it still smells of plaster and paint from the recent renovations. Alot of work to be done. The place could easily be 5 stars if they had got a more competent contractor to do the renovations and electrical work. And clean the tables you tinks.

Come here a lot.. food is good but staff attitude isn't at all. Provide some more training on customer service would be a good idea. Not all staff but it is a hit or miss.
