Highly Recommended, great value for money, great quality food and a great way to start off our holiday,

Stopped for lunch when passing through Bellingham with my elderly mother. The pub is neat and tidy and unpretentious. The food was a revelation, absolutely beautifully cooked, decent portion sizes, nicely presented and very reasonably priced. Best pub food in a long time. The staff were really friendly and helpful in making our lunch enjoyable. Highly recommended if you’re in the area.

Didn’t stay in hotel but stopped by for dinner and drinks after a lovely walk in Kielder. Beautifully located in an idyllic village. Great food and drinks and incredible service from an amazing server.

Friendly staff, real fire, Good beer (Brew Dog, Hazy Jane) Knocking one star off because there was no cask ale on.

Great food but waited a while for it

A decent little pub with a more old style pub style. A very homely feel with darts and TV's and dogs are allowed. Lots of hill walkers and hikers come here as well as locals.

After a walk at Hareshaw Linn we went for Sunday lunch at the Black Bull Hotel. Dogs welcome and they had lovely warm stove. Dinner was perfect, proper yorkshire puddings. 👍

We visited the Black Bull Hotel twice during our stay in Bellingham. We had Sunday lunch and that was nice. They were able to offer gluten free option for one of our party. We also had a table booked for NYE for 8 of us. The food was beautiful again and everyone enjoyed it. Had a great night in there and the staff were spot on!! Thank you for accommodating us.

Lovely atmosphere. Went there for a drink and the local people told us about all the places we should visit. Went back the following night for dinner. 7 of us. The mushrooms were fabulous as well as the fish and chips. My friend, who is vegan, had the aubergine dish and loved it.Our son, who is very fussy, had the burger and said it was the best he ever had. The Halloumi chips were great too. A fantastic meal and atmosphere!!

Stumbled across this lovely pub while out for a drive yesterday afternoon looking for somewhere for a Sunday dinner and so glad we stopped here as the food was delicious and will be back again very soon for more didn’t get a before picture as couldn’t wait to dive in but the after picture shows there was no food wasted as it was too tasty 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Nice atmosphere and very friendly staff recently had Sunday lunch , have to say lunch has a potential to be good but not on this occasion , kitchen very disorganized waited over 50 mins for meal and a lot of it was luke warm but like I say with a bit more organisation it would have been good

Belting bit of food after a walk. The garlic mushroom starter was huge! But one of the best I've had.

Had a lovely dinner here. Food was excellent, service was prompt and friendly - an overall lovely experience!

Not the best pub in the village. No atmosphere. Menu wasn't appealing

The publican Marcus is a great guy who runs the pub on his own and does a great job of it despite his young age. The barman David who served us was friendly and kept the drinks coming. During a long and pleasant conversation with a local we met at the bar (hi Neil 😄), both Marcus and David joined in which made it a fun evening. Overall, we are glad we stopped in and will return again. Maybe dinner tonight 😋

I loved staying at this place, a very nice British pub accommodation w decent food and lovely service. The room was quiet and cozy with a nice view. We came here bc it was close to Hadrian's Wall and on the way to the coast. Would recommend.

Just called in for a meal today, lovely young lady behind the bar took order. Meal was adequate but as just opened will give them a break. While waiting and then eating our meal subject to a foul mouthed woman at the bar, my wife or I shouldn't hear this type of thing when eating and no staff attempted to ask her to curb it. Then out front trying to enjoy the last of our drinks the chef and his mates were worse than the woman at the bar with the foul Language .. Could be a nice place but management NEED to tell the regulars to stop using foul language when people are eating and drinking. WON'T BE BACK.

Nice friendly pub and prices reasonably, well worth a visit

Stayed two nights,lovely clean room, nice refurbished bathroom,comfortable bed. Manager Marcus was very helpful and he makes the most amazing breakfast 5/5. We had 2 dogs and they were very welcome. Obviously if you like a really quite room maybe above a pub wouldn't be a good idea, we didn't mind, but I've read some reviews where customers have given poor reviews because of this . We would return if only for the breakfast. P.S.They serve wonderful Guinness Lorna & Tony

Just called in for a drink received a warm welcome and dog friendly and a great pint of Guinness. If your in the location give it a try you will not be disappointed.

I stayed at the Black Bull for 3 nights recently and it was lovely. Will definitely be back in Summer!

Booked in for two nights in March 2024. Only stayed one. Concur with Gillian W about level of service. No food. Superficially the room looked OK but Tea and coffee stale (coffee grounds in a jar with no means to make coffee). Bellingham looked a nice place and there were better places to stay so save yourself some grief and investigate further.

Called in for a drink whilst in Bellingham, looks recently renovated. Made really welcome and as they weren't serving food gave us some local recommendations. Dog friendly would definitely call in again 👍🐕

Stayed for 2 nights. The room was lovely, modern and absolutely spotless! Staff couldn’t have been more helpful, lovely bar and the food was great. Can’t recommend enough. I will be back!
