Blabar - Nordic Living in Wandsworth

Small and always busy at lunchtime, when we come for their excellent coffee. There's always someone (or more) enjoying their light meals although we haven't tried those yet. Not sure we understand their claim to "nordic living", which we (probably mistakenly) take to refer to "hygge", meaning a cozy, contented mood evoked by comfort and conviviality. Staff are pleasant but downstairs is crowded with goods no one seems to buy and with rather uncomfortable (cheap) seating options. 5/5 is only for the coffee.

Blabar Putney has been a favourite of ours for years! Terrific place. Lovely service and food. Small inside but has outdoor seating and it’s definitely delightful.

An old favourite and so good to be back here, after 2.5 years, menu has changed but still perfect for delicious fresh lunches, avocado & lingonberries on rye bread, or smoked salmon. prawns & egg on sour dough, all yummy. Sitting upstairs is the best, either comfortable sofa or the perfect spot by the window. Great coffee & cinnamon buns or other cakes. Beautiful Nordic Living merchandise surround you and all very tempting but not cheap!

It used to be much better. Served their lovely food in a chipped dishes? And it's not the first time. Come on, guys, you can do better than this. The service is very slow, too slow for such a small place. Another thing is that they never tell you in advance what's missing/not available in the menu. You always find out once you decide to order. Shame as it's got potential.

A fantastic, tasteful interior with a great selection of nordic articles. Unfortunately, my cortado was tasteless, but i will be back to try other coffees and their famous buns.

Blabar is one of my local coffee shops, cosy interior, friendly staff, cinnamon buns to die for, and very importantly their black filter coffee is strong and delicious.

If you're looking for a cup of coffee or a full experience, food and all, I recommend both! Very cultured and unique offering which lives up to expectations! Great vegan options too.

It's a small and really sweet cafe, go for my breaks. Prices are also quite good, especially for the food.

I don’t know why there are so many positive reviews about how nice the staff are; - on the day we went there, the customer in front of me had a legitimate complaint about something and the staff were very unhelpful to her. After she’d left (frustrated), the staff mocked her and laughed at her. I’m not having that so we left too. And we won’t be coming back.

I decided to take hubby for a good Swedish fika, and we went to Putney. A small place, but packed with the Scandinavian style. His sandwich with meatballs and slices beetroot was good, my salmond sandwich was also good. The cinnamon bun was excellent, so we’re more than happy.

Loved he cozy Nordic atmosphere, staff was friendly and very nice. Loved the food, the sandwich with meatballs was a bit small but good. We tried the sweets and coffee and they were amazing, I would recommend to stop here for a Coffee break should you pass nearby

As suggested in the review title, this cafe does brilliant cinnamon buns as well as fast cappuccinos! Really nice hygge atmosphere, a little bit quirky and different, nice place

Brilliant café, great service, friendly staff, delicious food and simple menu. Scandinavian feel as soon as you walk in. Highly recommend it. Once you visit once guaranteed you will visit very often.
