Had a great afternoon, live music from a decent band. Everyone was friendly. Didn't eat anything so can't comment on the food but the roasts I saw looked banging!

Didn't eat went to see a friends band 1st time playing at this venue.,excellent atmosphere .

A good local boozer, with decent beer, and excellent entertainment.

We moved from Southampton central to the local area, we saw the pub as we moved to our new home, it's always a hit and miss with new pubs and fitting in, within seconds of buying a pint, we were part of their family, the landlord and landlady came up and greeted us, my wife has mental health and omg, she has never been more supported, it was amazing, they saw she was struggling and offered her to sit with their friends and they really protected her and made her their main focus. I had heard things about the pub before going and people saying it was a rough pub, seriously do not listen to the past stories, they are amazing, compassionate and the feel of the community is overwhelming, they are family and dog friendly, down to earth and so welcoming. The locals are so so welcoming and friendly, I've been to a lot of pubs but this is deffo right up there!

went to see a solo artist and it was really busy, very friendly and welcoming. the staff were very busy but still pleasent and polite

Fantastic staff,it's a comfortable pub not to have more than one,as all costomers make you feel welcome,and the added bonus of a spacious beer garden with stage..... what's not to like... nothing,I'll definitely be popping in for a another beer , good work,no animosity felt, just one bloody good pub ,

Went in during the day, as the website said that its kitchen is open to serve food. It was not. I got a cold "No, closed" from the person behind the bar. She then walked off. Clearly, she didn't care about customers. It is one of them pubs that will be closed within a year or two, due to it being so dark and dingie.

Our first visit to the Bittern tonight after recently moving to the area ...what a fabulous place! We've never felt so welcomed into a pub! What an atmosphere!!!! We only went to support a friends band but we will defo be returning!!! Thank you 😊

Loads of Halloween 🎃 decorations everywhere. Nice and quiet Tuesday evening 😊 about 20.00hrs. Lounge to myself tried 2 different beers and 2 whisky and 2 snacks

Jaki and Steve are just the best hosts you could ask for. This is a chilled, friendly and vibrant pub full of people who just want to enjoy themselves. The entertainment is always top notch. Will definitely be back 🤘🍺

Good fun great entertainment friendly management

Hands down one of if not the best pub in Southampton. The landlady and landlord are such lovely people who make sure they give everyone a warm welcome. The staff are always happy and jovial with great speedy service. They have all the sports channels for those of us who love football and a fantastic entertainment schedule there with live bands that cover so many genres, they have karaoke regularly ( Thursday and Sunday nights ) the locals make everyone feel welcome. It really is the sort of pub you’ll enter as a stranger and leave with lots of new friends. Well done Jaki & Steve and the team. Brilliant pub please keep doing what you’re doing.

Waited over an hour for lunch for 3 people only one other table of 4 people there food was disgusting the salad in the burger was a dry twig the bun had collapsed due to it being microwaved meal cost almost £40 worst meal we've ever been served

Went for Sunday lunch. Kitchen was closed. Third time.

My favorite pitstop. Friendly bar staff. Awesome music and great beer. Lots of festivities. Karoke, DJ, band or just great 70s 80s music. My safe space 😍🤗😁

Kinda nice estate pub. I'm not sure about food, (if any). Prices were fine, limited but accessible parking. Was a warm atmosphere, and the locals and staff were friendly. They have all the satellite channels. Also there's an active entertainment program. Simple nice pub.

A good local pub at the top of Thornhill Pk Road, it has a small free car park at the front. There is outside seating & plenty inside, where there is a pool table & darts. On a Friday evening there was a DJ playing all sorts, busy but not packed. Prices are the usual for nowadays.

Disgusting amount of loud music noise both Saturdays and Sundays. Just antisocial. WE LIVE NEAR and have to suffer thumping noise every time there is live music .

Brilliant pub! This landlord and landlady are fantastic. They have brought this pub back to life! Wonderful entertainment, staff, food and beer. What a wonderful local. Look after them brewery, they are precious and so down to earth. They understand their customers and make it work Never judge a book by its cover

Wow... what a great little pub. I have passed this pub almost everyday since I arrived in Southampton but I never stopped. What a mistake that was. It's great! I was killing some time waiting for my washing to dry so I thought I'd pop in. Friendly, clean and large selection of drinks. What else could I want. Go on give it a try. I'm looking forward to my next trip to the launderette.

Very loud and very terrible live music. Can be heard from multiple roads away. Rude staff members who don’t care about the local residents who you would have thought would be one of their main customer targets as it’s not exactly a picturesque location to have a pint and some food.

What a lovely pub. Had the chicken and bacon salad. Did take quite a while for the food to arrive. The salad was lovely just a shame the chicken was overcooked

A spacious pub and beer garden with a very welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff. Good food served here. Regular meat draws held, family events too and a great night out to be had here - always fantastic local bands and entertainment at the ready.

Went for lunch with my brother his girlfriend and my boyfriend and the food was lovely but one very rude staff all cos my sister inlaw wanted a fresh drink and got called fat and the woman’s was really rude to use all won’t be coming agian

Arrived 5 mins early for the table we had booked. A handful of drinkers at the bar but other than that the pub was empty! Our drinks were served quickly which was great. Took 47 minutes for our food order to be taken, the staff were extremely friendly just unbearably slow. Which was a shame as the pub was clean and the menu was reasonable for pub grub. After ordering, the bar man said he would check with the chef how long we’d expect to wait, he then went to speak to the chef who was sat a few tables away. We then watched the chef finish his own meal before returning to the kitchen to start cooking ours! Another 40 mins later 2 of the 4 burgers arrived. After another wait for cutlery and the rest of the meals and children's meals we finally ate! The food was nice but really not worth the time we sat waiting!

The pub is frendly, welcoming.The live music is nice ( but a little loude), the caraokee was fun. The staff are friendly & helpful.

If you like Rock n Roll, Rockabilly, Psycho billy then need to pay a visit; Landlord is a great guy. Fantastic music and atmosphere.

Great little pub. Variety of beers but the music was a bit too loud. Love the half picnic tables in the back garden.

Went there for a gig which was put on by Tangerine Tantrum. A great covers band. I also had 2 pints of Thatchers Gold cider.

We had a couple of house to kill while our new bikes where prepared in the shop next door, and found a very friendly welcome with good food in lovely garden at the Bittern pub. Great value, will hopefully be back, (in 2 months when the bikes are due their first service). Cheers, NK

Really friendly and a nice pub meal.

I gave this pub one star but if I could I would give them nothing. Me and friend went in there to enjoy a Sunday roast but literally the atmosphere was so unbearable. There was loud shouting and continuous swearing across amongst groups sat at different tables from across the room. There was no consideration at all for other people

Had to wait 40mins for 3 sandwiches which arrived in a wrong bread. It wasn't even busy, nearly empty pub. Also sandwiches were dry as a shoe lace.

Great atmosphere with lots of fun, chatty people and good drinks. I had a great time being there tonight, was a karaoke party so very much entertained by their music and live DJ. Recommended if you like a nice Saturday night out

Just dropped in for a pint after work. Some really great people in there, really friendly and the staff... excellent.....its what I would expect now that my pal Bodly has ownership. Keep it up mate your doing a fine job.

You may think at first glance given the area it's in that this would be a rough pub but once you're inside it gives the complete opposite impression. However I don't know whether this was because I went on a Friday but the music was a little too loud to be able to have a conversation hence the 4/5.

Nice food but never get a clean table had to clean ourselves so hope the kitchen is better
