Biryaniwala in Leicester

An order placed around 20:30 and delivered at 22:35, I can understand its a weekend but 2 hours ?? Its not justified

The biryani taste is very good when we get it via take away. Especially their mutton biryani. However, the quality is compromised when you order it in large quantities for parties which is a pity.

We absolutely loved this place to bits, we were recommended this to try it out by friends and we came from Birmingham. We bought a variety of different items to try and we're impressed with the quality of the food and taste. This will now be one of my favourite places to go to.

I bought 10 biriyani.saba and komal serive is good.

I am not a local to Leicester but visit the city at least once a month to shop for Indian and Pakistani groceries. Every time I am there, I make sure to visit Biryaniwala to enjoy their delicious food, especially their Biryani. They consistently serve fresh and authentic Hyderabadi Biryani, which is truly a delight. While Biryani is their specialty, they also offer a variety of other dishes, at least a dozen options, including Chicken and Lamb Korma, Chicken Manchurian, Samosas, and Chicken and Lamb Sheekh Kebabs, all freshly prepared and full of flavor. We have always found their food to be of excellent quality, with a taste that stands out. In fact, we have never come across such authentic Hyderabadi Biryani at any other restaurant in the UK. Their Hyderabadi Biryani, served with two generous pieces of chicken on a large plate, is priced at just £4.00, making it both delicious and incredibly affordable. The service is exceptional; the staff treat customers with great politeness and professionalism. I will definitely continue visiting Biryaniwala whenever I travel to Leicester. Their authentic Hyderabadi Biryani and Kebabs are a must-try for anyone looking for high-quality, flavorful food at an unbeatable price!

Yoghurt sauce accompanying the biriany is just awful. White water with no flavour or substance. They really should improve the quality of the sauce and not give white water.

Recently I ordered Chicken Biryani from Biryaniwala for a family get-together, and I couldn’t be more impressed! I requested that they pack the Biryani together instead of individually, as we’re trying to be more sustainable, and they happily accommodated my request. The Biryani was ready on time, freshly made, and absolutely delicious. I had asked for it to be less spicy since kids were eating too, and they nailed the instructions perfectly. The Biryani was full of flavor without being overpowering, and both the chicken and rice were cooked to perfection. The aroma and taste were heavenly, and my guests couldn’t stop praising the food. A big thank you to the staff and the owner for their attention to detail and for making such a flavorful Biryani. It truly made my event memorable! Highly recommend Biryaniwala to anyone looking for authentic, tasty food with excellent service.

There was food left. It smelled bad and was inedible. We will definitely report it to the Health Department and Leicester City Council.

This Bryani 🍚 place on Melton Road 🛣️ is now changed & it’s probably the best place to eat there or takeaway! Absolutely superb quality Bryani! Most of them are now ladies who serve, cook look after! Very hygienic! I saw two ladies with headscarves 🧕🏼🧕🏽were wearing gloves 🧤which indicates, it’s now going to be my favourite place to get takeaways! I tried the Chicken Bryani & two pieces of chicken, I cannot wait to try other food 🍲 on their menu. The ladies are taking hygiene quite seriously.

If I had a choice I would give this place ZERO. Ordered 2 Chicken Biryani's due to the poor packaging the bag split and the food dropped onto the floor with in the shop. I kindly asked the lady to replace it for me. She clearly identified it's not her problem as I dropped it, clearly the bag handles split. But it was still my fault for no apparent reason. She wanted me to pick the food from the floor which was scattered everywhere and eat it as it's OK to do so. I asked for a refund or the product to be replaced. Which was a NO. The lady called other people who started to gang up on me. Swearing and shouting infront of other customers, very unprofessional behaviour. Disappointed with this service. Mannerisms do not exist with in the people at this place. For one moment I felt the lady was ready to attack as she was so aggressive, stepped to me from behind the counter with a man. Invading my personal space. As I walked away she pushed me infront of customers. How professional.

Service is getting worse each visit, one staff from last week was behaving without any respect to the customers. She was rolling eyes to one of the customers, throwing balance on the counter. Health and safety issue: wearing the same gloves, serving food, packing food and receiving money from customers and giving balance back touching everywhere including her hair. Hygienic rating should be a zero and service should be a minus 3 if there was an option.

ridiculous breakfast for £5.00! what a complete utter rip off!!! charging people five pounds for a omlette or should I say half a scrambled omlette!!!in 1 measly paratha !!! complete rip off!!!!do not order the omlette breakfast NOT WORTH IT!!! YOU COULD ADD CHANNA HALWA CHARGE a little extra and that's how u do a proper breakfast 🤭 plus the Tandoori chicken was half raw and chicken biryani rather sloppy and watery and also quite literally lacking completely in that authentic biryani taste !Dont waste your money here visit elsewhere!!!! Food was really very spicy, waiters don’t ask your spice level . Literally there are thick pieces of green chillies in every thing like biryanis n butter chicken. Waiters are very inconsiderate, if u request them to lower the music as it is loud they will not care.

Always order biryani from this place , used to love it .... till 4 days ago.... had a food poison with that lamb biryani.... being sick in bed for 3 days.... i will recomend thiS place to double check health and safety procedures on their food... as ive been struggling alot... WONT COME BACK AGAIN.

Hey I bought food Saturday afternoon date 12/10/24 Food was worst Service was worst No taste feels like I eat 2days leftover I bought leg piece and it was like worst and worst thing is I didn’t even finish the food and had throw in bin ( no staff discipline ) Note to owner - please teach your staff discipline and teach about food safety as well) WORST PLACE TO EAT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I ordered Vegetable dum biryani and Chicken dum Biryani (for almost 30+ people)for a house party and I was extremely disappointed. The food was terrible. The food smells/tasted very bad, as it was made with poor quality ingredients. I opened it within 2hrs after reaching home. Please taste before you collect food, and if you are going to order large quantity for parties I don't recommend to order food with Biryaniwala. These people only accept cash and they don't accept bank transfer(to easily escape if they deliver poor quality food). And when I called and complained about the food there behaviour is very rude.

my parents were very excited to try a biryani place in the town and they asked for recommendations but the girl on the till was rude and vague and did not acknowledge or talk at all. this left us with a negative impression initially but we brushed it off. they ended up choosing whatever looked good on menu and said to leave a good review as the biriyani, the chicken lollipop and tandoori chicken was not bad. however, my brother and i disagree. the taste was no comment but the tandoori chicken was so tiny. 😂 i wish i got a picture. i get that it is up on the menu good value but it honestly looked like a pigeon leg and barely any meat to the bone. i’d rather pay more for some good meat. the biryani was bombarded with mustard seeds and cardamom which overpowered the actual taste of “hyderabadi” biryani. after every bite, there would be a crunch. they should rename it garam masala pulao…🤣 anyways, for someone who is a foodie, loves indian food and not a picky eater, this was honestly a disappointment. unfortunately, we won’t be coming back. my dad expressed how awkward and unwelcomed they felt and maybe it’s just not our taste but the customer service really put us off from trying again. edit: i noticed another review mentioned the same thing about the lady on the till… :/ please give your staff the training required or how to treat customers because this is such a let down. wishing the owner and the chef the very best.

I recently ordered chicken biryani. Chicken was undercooked and too juicy, which made it unsafe to eat.

Sometimes hit and miss but mostly amazing and tasty on Friday the lamb biriyani was absolutely beautiful and tasty melting meat. Perfect excellent prices though I’m assuming msg is used cos it’s soo addictive and yummy

We ordered it for a birthday eve from Coventry, 10 non veg and 3 veg for 52 pounds ,it’s absolutely delicious .

I would recommend this place for trying chicken and lamb biriyani. it is not the top notch one, but quality and quantity is guaranteed. The service is not good at all I was in the q and they was serving the people behind me and when I told them i was in the q they was like it will only be 2 mins and started serving the person behind me which did not make me happy at all had to leave the store I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone the staff are too rudeeeee. And the food will give you stomach next morning

The food is absolutely amazing, and for £3.99 a portion of chicken biriyani is incredibly cheap and so filling. When I'm in Leicester again, I will definitely be going back.

Visited the shop today as it was our first time here ..decided to eat in ordered tandoori chicken and Nan bread .. the assistant put the chicken in the microwave and then the Nan bread Gave us the food .. chicken was Luke warm and dry And the Nan bread was like a”crispy popadom.”. could not chew the bread at all complained about the food and got £1 back for the bread .. will not visit here again

This is my second visit, and the experience was even worse this time. The food tasted terrible. While dining in Leicester, I noticed a British family at the next table. They were visibly struggling with the spiciness of their meal and seemed very unhappy. It’s clear that you don’t consider the spice tolerance of your customers. I doubt they’ll ever come back to this restaurant. It’s important to prioritize your customers’ preferences over profit. Please consider hiring more attentive and understanding staff for the dining floor to better meet customer needs.

Generaly, If you manage to tie it write when there's a fresh pot of Biryani, it's the best. But today was the bottom bits of the pot which was overly greasy and the chicken was shredded. The chicken curry wasn't much better as it seem to have a taste of vinegar, whihc didn't work for me. Must have been my tenth visit so previously really great biryani.

Been ordering chicken biryani from this places for so long due to there consistency of taste, quantity and quality but this time it was too dry and too sticky also have ordered orange Fanta and they decided to send some random drink (guess no one checked the order, and put what ever drink)

Like the best biryani I have had in a long time. Always served hot and fresh. The prices are extremely reasonable. A must go to place in Leicester for biryani. They even do a selection of curries etc which are good as well but the biryani is the go to dish.

We came for the first time to have food in biryani wala. ordered 2 chicken biryani, chicken 65 starter and Haleem Worst biryani and starter I had in my life worst taste and pungent smell in entire Leicester City. We didn’t have the food and left the food and came outside. We have said on the face the biryani was very bad and they are asking to pay total 20 pounds. Don’t have card payment to pay. Guys if you have opened the shop just you make money then there are several other ways,, dont rob people of their hard earned money give fooling them by serving worst and spoiled food. This is a disgusting place. They serve old biryani mostly and make customers wait on the name of new biryani. The lady serving biryani here is very rude and pathetic. They are literally fooling people by mixing old food in almost all online orders and also people waiting in queue for takeaway are served by mixing most old biryani rice with new masala. Even if we ask them to serve freshly made one, they seriously don’t serve that for customers who are waiting from long time. Their service is completely deteriorated from previous years. Staff doesn’t have minimum common sense despite of customers telling to serve fresh food when we are paying our hard earned money. Buy from this place only if it is fresh. It’s always stale food mostly. I am writing this review after seeing their bad service for many times. Most of the times I just ignored writing a review inspite of me having bad experience almost every time . It doesn’t matter even if they don’t care reviews but their service is worst.

Place order over the phone at 07:25pm they give me collection time 08:00pm, went to collect they make me wait another 45mints very unprofessional customer service, inexperienced staff.
