Update 2025 April 24 ! Ordered 3 biriyani and they gave my driver containers plastic !! not the usual with logo n full of just rice at melton Road branch My poor driver had to go back to elaborate How dare you treat people who look a certain way with such disgrace !!

Gave plain rice when we ordered 3 tubs Of zafrani a few days ago absolutely disgusted since we are regular customers Also they use msg CANCER causing chemicals monosodium glutamate That’s why people feel addicted ro go back Just saying after research !! Test it in ur labs Don’t bother contacting that head of marketing all she sees is £££ not health!

Taste tooo good ,customer service very very bad 👎

Me and my family were so excited so try the Biriyani here as we have heard good things but we will never return or ever recommend this to anyone else. We ordered a lamb Biriyani and paneer Biriyani (with a falooda and karak chai) and they were both disappointing. We waited in line and were continuously ignored by the 3 women at the front eventhough we were first in line. We waited 30 minutes for both biriyanis to be made. The food: - the lamb biriyani was extremely flavourless and dry, you can see it in the pictures it was just such a waste of money. The lamb was so dry and there was little to no flavour in the rice or meat. Had to mix some of the paneer rice to add ANYTHING to it whether that was flavour or colour. - the paneer Biriyani had some good flavours but it was just full of oil and spice mostly. It is the next day and my stomach is still in pain, it was not good quality. - the falooda was so extremely concentrated and sweet it was undrinkable until we got home and had to dilute it with 2 cups of milk. - the Karak chai was fine but did taste as though it was sitting out all day. Overall not a good experience and will not return, not worth it at all.

I don't recommend anyone and felt very bad disappointed when we see bare bone as if eaten. No word to express how we felt bad God only knows what is going on internally how hygiene they are preparing food and how old those chickens. Very bad experience, called and reported ready to give one more free briyani but decided never go again that shop.

I usually drive past this restaurant on a regular basis, but today I was feeling biryani for lunch, I must say I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered one portion of lamb biryani and one portion of chicken biryani, the masala in both was spot on, very nice and tasty, the portions were much more than what I thought I would get. Very good value for money. The lady that served me was very polite and courteous. I'm afraid this shop will be a regular food spot for me going forward 🤣

There is no lamb in our lamb keema and it’s sweet I would not recommend it also there is so many potatoes

An order placed around 20:30 and delivered at 22:35, I can understand its a weekend but 2 hours ?? Its not justified

The worst place in leicester service wise, I’d eat concrete off the floor before ever coming here again!! I order for collection, they tell me to be there in 40 mins, I get there and they tell me they sold it to someone else because they wanted it and I wasn’t there yet when I got there on time and actually pre-ordered it ?????? honestly so stupid and so jarring.

Ordered Lamb Dum Biryani take away for 15 people. Food was delicious, generous portion of rice and meat. Tasted similar to Biryani I used to have in Hyderabad. Everyone enjoyed the food and loved the authentic Hyderbadi taste. Exceeded my expectation. I definitely recommend if someone is looking for authentic Hyderabadi Biryani.

Ordered a takeaway chicken biriani for the first time. Very generous portion at a very reasonable price point. The biriani was beautifully spiced with a generous amount of meat. Very tasty with a lovely warmth to the taste. Definitely the best I have tasted in a while. Will sure be trying their other range. Highly recommend 👌

The biryani taste is very good when we get it via take away. Especially their mutton biryani. However, the quality is compromised when you order it in large quantities for parties which is a pity.

We absolutely loved this place to bits, we were recommended this to try it out by friends and we came from Birmingham. We bought a variety of different items to try and we're impressed with the quality of the food and taste. This will now be one of my favourite places to go to.

I am not a local to Leicester but visit the city at least once a month to shop for Indian and Pakistani groceries. Every time I am there, I make sure to visit Biryaniwala to enjoy their delicious food, especially their Biryani. They consistently serve fresh and authentic Hyderabadi Biryani, which is truly a delight. While Biryani is their specialty, they also offer a variety of other dishes, at least a dozen options, including Chicken and Lamb Korma, Chicken Manchurian, Samosas, and Chicken and Lamb Sheekh Kebabs, all freshly prepared and full of flavor. We have always found their food to be of excellent quality, with a taste that stands out. In fact, we have never come across such authentic Hyderabadi Biryani at any other restaurant in the UK. Their Hyderabadi Biryani, served with two generous pieces of chicken on a large plate, is priced at just £4.00, making it both delicious and incredibly affordable. The service is exceptional; the staff treat customers with great politeness and professionalism. I will definitely continue visiting Biryaniwala whenever I travel to Leicester. Their authentic Hyderabadi Biryani and Kebabs are a must-try for anyone looking for high-quality, flavorful food at an unbeatable price!

Yoghurt sauce accompanying the biriany is just awful. White water with no flavour or substance. They really should improve the quality of the sauce and not give white water.

Recently I ordered Chicken Biryani from Biryaniwala for a family get-together, and I couldn’t be more impressed! I requested that they pack the Biryani together instead of individually, as we’re trying to be more sustainable, and they happily accommodated my request. The Biryani was ready on time, freshly made, and absolutely delicious. I had asked for it to be less spicy since kids were eating too, and they nailed the instructions perfectly. The Biryani was full of flavor without being overpowering, and both the chicken and rice were cooked to perfection. The aroma and taste were heavenly, and my guests couldn’t stop praising the food. A big thank you to the staff and the owner for their attention to detail and for making such a flavorful Biryani. It truly made my event memorable! Highly recommend Biryaniwala to anyone looking for authentic, tasty food with excellent service.

There was food left. It smelled bad and was inedible. We will definitely report it to the Health Department and Leicester City Council.

This Bryani 🍚 place on Melton Road 🛣️ is now changed & it’s probably the best place to eat there or takeaway! Absolutely superb quality Bryani! Most of them are now ladies who serve, cook look after! Very hygienic! I saw two ladies with headscarves 🧕🏼🧕🏽were wearing gloves 🧤which indicates, it’s now going to be my favourite place to get takeaways! I tried the Chicken Bryani & two pieces of chicken, I cannot wait to try other food 🍲 on their menu. The ladies are taking hygiene quite seriously.

If I had a choice I would give this place ZERO. Ordered 2 Chicken Biryani's due to the poor packaging the bag split and the food dropped onto the floor with in the shop. I kindly asked the lady to replace it for me. She clearly identified it's not her problem as I dropped it, clearly the bag handles split. But it was still my fault for no apparent reason. She wanted me to pick the food from the floor which was scattered everywhere and eat it as it's OK to do so. I asked for a refund or the product to be replaced. Which was a NO. The lady called other people who started to gang up on me. Swearing and shouting infront of other customers, very unprofessional behaviour. Disappointed with this service. Mannerisms do not exist with in the people at this place. For one moment I felt the lady was ready to attack as she was so aggressive, stepped to me from behind the counter with a man. Invading my personal space. As I walked away she pushed me infront of customers. How professional.

Service is getting worse each visit, one staff from last week was behaving without any respect to the customers. She was rolling eyes to one of the customers, throwing balance on the counter. Health and safety issue: wearing the same gloves, serving food, packing food and receiving money from customers and giving balance back touching everywhere including her hair. Hygienic rating should be a zero and service should be a minus 3 if there was an option.

Food was really very spicy, waiters don’t ask your spice level . Literally there are thick pieces of green chillies in every thing like biryanis n butter chicken. Waiters are very inconsiderate, if u request them to lower the music as it is loud they will not care.

Always order biryani from this place , used to love it .... till 4 days ago.... had a food poison with that lamb biryani.... being sick in bed for 3 days.... i will recomend thiS place to double check health and safety procedures on their food... as ive been struggling alot... WONT COME BACK AGAIN.

my parents were very excited to try a biryani place in the town and they asked for recommendations but the girl on the till was rude and vague and did not acknowledge or talk at all. this left us with a negative impression initially but we brushed it off. they ended up choosing whatever looked good on menu and said to leave a good review as the biriyani, the chicken lollipop and tandoori chicken was not bad. however, my brother and i disagree. the taste was no comment but the tandoori chicken was so tiny. 😂 i wish i got a picture. i get that it is up on the menu good value but it honestly looked like a pigeon leg and barely any meat to the bone. i’d rather pay more for some good meat. the biryani was bombarded with mustard seeds and cardamom which overpowered the actual taste of “hyderabadi” biryani. after every bite, there would be a crunch. they should rename it garam masala pulao…🤣 anyways, for someone who is a foodie, loves indian food and not a picky eater, this was honestly a disappointment. unfortunately, we won’t be coming back. my dad expressed how awkward and unwelcomed they felt and maybe it’s just not our taste but the customer service really put us off from trying again. edit: i noticed another review mentioned the same thing about the lady on the till… :/ please give your staff the training required or how to treat customers because this is such a let down. wishing the owner and the chef the very best.

I ordered Vegetable dum biryani and Chicken dum Biryani (for almost 30+ people)for a house party and I was extremely disappointed. The food was terrible. The food smells/tasted very bad, as it was made with poor quality ingredients. I opened it within 2hrs after reaching home. Please taste before you collect food, and if you are going to order large quantity for parties I don't recommend to order food with Biryaniwala. These people only accept cash and they don't accept bank transfer(to easily escape if they deliver poor quality food). And when I called and complained about the food there behaviour is very rude.

I recently ordered chicken biryani. Chicken was undercooked and too juicy, which made it unsafe to eat.

I would recommend this place for trying chicken and lamb biriyani. it is not the top notch one, but quality and quantity is guaranteed. The service is not good at all I was in the q and they was serving the people behind me and when I told them i was in the q they was like it will only be 2 mins and started serving the person behind me which did not make me happy at all had to leave the store I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone the staff are too rudeeeee. The food is absolutely amazing, and for £3.99 a portion of chicken biriyani is incredibly cheap and so filling. When I'm in Leicester again, I will definitely be going back.

Visited the shop today as it was our first time here ..decided to eat in ordered tandoori chicken and Nan bread .. the assistant put the chicken in the microwave and then the Nan bread Gave us the food .. chicken was Luke warm and dry And the Nan bread was like a”crispy popadom.”. could not chew the bread at all complained about the food and got £1 back for the bread .. will not visit here again

This is my second visit, and the experience was even worse this time. The food tasted terrible. While dining in Leicester, I noticed a British family at the next table. They were visibly struggling with the spiciness of their meal and seemed very unhappy. It’s clear that you don’t consider the spice tolerance of your customers. I doubt they’ll ever come back to this restaurant. It’s important to prioritize your customers’ preferences over profit. Please consider hiring more attentive and understanding staff for the dining floor to better meet customer needs.
