It's a very convenient branch for the Royal Courts of Justice at which I had a conference with a senior police officer and six other barristers at 1pm prior to a court hearing at 2pm. Although it advertises itself as a sandwich shop, the definition of "sandwich" includes baps, rolls, toasted foccaccias and fillings from a carvery roast. The most enormous salads can be made up judging by the young lady whom had only scratched the surface of her vast bowl as I left. Fridges also contain yoghurts, other frozen desserts and drinks. The walls are decorated with, variously, posters for plays at the National Theatre, London, a film by Otto Premium called "Der Mann mit den Goldenen Arm" (some sort of metallic transplant friek) starring Frank Sinatra and assorted mafiosi, plus an advertisement for "Esso". Not sure what the latter was trying to suggest, whether the selling of high octane products in general or flambees in particular. I was fully satisfied by my beef and cheese foccacia nicely served on a tray, two substantial pieces of bread crisply baked with the cheesy filling fairly falling off in long strips. A yoghurt with honey at the bottom and an espresso were both refreshing in their different ways.
