Excellent range of British and European beers . Landlord has an extensive knowledge of what he sells . Some locals need keeping an eye on . Head barman can be grumpy .

Award winning pub serving both in-house and other craft ales and ciders. Along with a huge selection of imported and locally bottled beers and ciders. The ideal place to meet up with friends in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Why not call in, pick up a few bottles for your Xmas drink and try one or two of the potent drinks while you are there? The pub is pet friendly, if you are supposed to be walking the dog... And the pooch needs a break.

Cracking bar that I stumbled across - there was a room through the back with an older guy playing the guitar and singing. Loads of beers to choose from as well! Just watch the stairs as they are pretty steep going to the toilets

My first visit, great atmosphere, bar staff and other drinkers very friendly. The rhubarb and raspberry ciders are excellent. I will be going back once I've recovered.

Great selection of new and old style IPA's, proper ciders and rum from around the world. Not a carling or strongbow pump in sight and all the better for it! Ended up finishing on a 10%er before wobbling up the big hill. Awesome.

What a selection of beers. Popped in with the wife once and went in last Saturday with pops for one of my favourite Belgian beers. Awesome if you fancy something different for a change and also now has outdoor seating and a rear enclosed beer garden area for basking in the sunshine, or nipping out for a smoke :)

Just sitting outside seen no form of social distancing nor mask wearing, the owner does seem relatively nice though so could be more customer criticism than owner related (he does have a sign on the door) it is impressive to see how well this business is doing given that it is relatively new, the painting of the man and crow are also really nice and painted by local people so that's a plus!! As per your reply, google asks you a few days later what this business was like not at the exact point you are there!

This is a really friendly local bar. Lots of lagers, beers and wines to choose from. It's guaranteed someone will strike up a conversation if you want to chat.

A great addition to Darwen's bar scene with a great selection of amazing Belgium ales and local ales on draught, Its been converted from The Wine Shop it was previously but it dates back to the mid 1800's as an old beer house. We always make a visit for at least one drink on a weekend. They also offer some nice gift sets too, the staff are very friendly and helpful. I can't recommend enough.
