Bird & Bean in Tendring

To start, We were seated to a table that had not been cleaned very well, we asked a staff member to clean it as there was a lump of beans in the middle of the table, the member of staff grumpily removed it, and was aggressive moving chairs and tables. We then ordered drinks and food, where our drinks took forever, I could see staff members on their phones taking videos, possibly for the media, but rather mucking around and being incredibly loud.. our drinks came, only to what was awful, stone cold with one drink with a lipstick mark on my cup!!! so had to get others.. we then received our meal, on a dirty plate, with cheap food, that lacked flavour. incredibly poor quality.. and the prices, wow!!! Cold Chips are so expensive, along with cold meals.. again the member of staff just apologised about it, and just smiled. Not good enough. We are so disappointed.

This was the best breakfast myself and my partner have ever had! It was amazing! The toast was just right, not too cooked, the fried eggs were cooked just right and were divine! The mushroom was so delicious, the best I have ever had and the sausage was lovely. I could go on... we will definitely be back again. It was a bit pricey but excellent quality and generous size portions so it made up for it. The staff were courteous and professional. Service was prompt. We really enjoyed our visit and enjoyed sitting on the tables at the front, in the sun!

Beautiful exterior and interior and absolutely spotless hygiene levels. Food was cooked to perfection by friendly and welcoming staff, can’t recommend big bird and bean enough it goes so hard.

Honestly fantastic - the best burger around for miles! Bird and Bean has always been one of my favourite breakfast/coffee spots, so I knew we just had to try them for dinner one night. We ordered a takeout and the packaging was fantastic, keeping the food hot until we arrived home. We had a huge order and everything was to such a high standard (ordering 6 meals and extras). We may also have indulged in some special Euros donuts which went down a treat. Can’t wait to go back, highly recommend!!!!

We stopped by for lunch on a busy Saturday afternoon & we were happy to get a table. The restaurant is the far end of the high street from the beach, but don’t let that put you off as it’s a nice spot to try out. There was a bit of a wait for food, though it tasted great and the service was good throughout our visit.

Always a pleasant visit. Lovely, polite staff, great food and drinks, great location in the middle of the high street within walking distance of the beach and local parking. Well worth a visit.
