The Tearoom staff are extremely rude they need to go on a customer service training course. On our visit the two elderly women kitchen staff were not very nice at all, apparently one of them is the manager she was very abrupt, irrate, loud and rude towards a young man with a learning disability and had no compassion or understanding causing customer unnecessary upset. The young man who served us was very rude and ignorant towards him. The lady in the windmill where you make the bread was very nice, kind and understanding. Will not return.

we cycled to the windmill and were very pleased to find some gf&df soup. The tea room has a lovely buzz to it and some fabulous cakes although we couldn't have any as there wasn't any gf&df. The soup which was delicious.

Had the most loveliest cakes at the tea room! Considering they are all home made they are all scrumptious. They were that good we had to go back and get some more cakes the day we left!!! 100% visit.

Popped by with my elderly mum for a coffee, ended up having lunch and planning a later visit going back with the kids. Good home cooked food, lovely cakes, reasonable prices, nice staff.

Went in for tea and cakes after exploring the windmill. Very polite, friendly and helpful staff. Good selection of homemade cakes we had the chocolate cake and a jam filled donut. Saw other customers getting breakfasts and baked potatoes and like the cakes, the portions were very generous. There are tables inside and out and a variety of gifts and souvenirs are sold in the shop which forms part of the tearoom.

Having previously held season tickets we decided to revisit Bircham windmill and we were very disappointed, they have decided to close the museum due to covid I assume, (that’s why you pay the fee to view it) and they don’t tell You upon payment. Dog poo by the eating area which our 1 year old fell in, filthy unclean high chair which my wet wipe was filthy, extremely rude manager who when my wife complained he told her to go get her husband. The food was lovely though but very poor attitude from the manegment and very little to do to warrant the entry fee.

The tea rooms are not very big but they are a lovely, homely place to have a drink or a snack when visiting the windmill. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The food is very tasty, especially the bread as, obviously, it's home milled. Unfortunately, from our point of view, they are not dog friendly. There is an outside eating area but it is not very large and it is in the open, no shelter. The day we visited it was raining but, luckily, there was an area next to the entrance to the windmill which, although being in the open, had a bit of shelter above it. I was able to move a table and two chairs into the space and there we sat, with our dog, having our meal sheltered from the rain. It was unusual, to say the least.

No food on offer here until after 2pm so if you are in a meeting here please or course, you can't get anything to eat without driving out or bringing a pack up in. Also if you do bring your own food they won't let you eat it on their tables as they have a hang up about this for some strange reason. I would understand if they had anything on offer but they don't so why cry about it? Pathetic way to do business

Ordered using the app went to collect and was cuing outside. My order was being called inside but how would I know? I went in after 20 minutes and my food was sat on the counter going cold! I got a mouthful of abuse from someone who worked there whilst waving her arms telling me to wait outside. There was nobody on the door outside to deal with orders etc. It seemed however if you have a deliveroo, just eat or similar you could meet inside whilst not socially distancing and get first pick of the orders! Very poor customer service on this occasion and very rude staff. Despite my poor experience the food was great albeit a little cold. Perhaps a few parking bays for click and collect mobile orders etc would work better even for deliveroo etc. See McDonald's and how they do it! Went in again 14/10/23 Shocking service waited 10 minutes then the screen suggested order ready for collection! It wasn't and neither were the other 8 orders that had moved over to the ready to collect screen. After 15 more minutes and the heater on full blast the orders started dropping off the system one by one, people starting to get stressed 😥 4 people behind the counter idle with very little output, 1 order had been offered 2031, 2031 that was all that continued to be called for the next 5 minutes. I can only imagine the customer of 2031 had either perished in the heat or from starvation! Why was I shocked ? This was normal at KFC Hardwick. It's a shame the system does not work as the food is good and usually hot. Bring back the older style restaurants where the food was in the chip shop style units ready to serve as the order came in. Wisbech KFC is an example of this. Update as of today 22/03/25 shocking . Seems delivered, just eat etc get their orders as a priority over 40 minutes to wait half of it missing half of it cold. No napkins wasn't even busy, I don't know why I keep returning 😒
