What a fantastic place to dine in, great staff polite and respectful, superb hospitality and customer service topped up with absolutely amazing food, very tasty and generous portions. We were 2 families - 10 of us, 4 adults, 2 teenagers and 4 children 5-11 dining at Biplob, every single one of us loved the food and experience. It was heaving on the 1st night we visited. Following our excellent experience, we dined at Biplob a further 2 nights and the experience was outstanding. The owner was so attentive, humble, kind and approachable, what a great guy no wonder he’s been successfully running this amazing restaurant for over 30 years. May you continue to prosper for many more decades to come. Biplob is a restaurant one can visit and dine from far a field and we for sure will happily do another 120miles to dine at Bibplob, thank you so much for our lovely experience.

We come here less often now due to logistical issues but after our latest meal we will make a point of coming more often. Baltic’s were amazing as were the chicken paneer and the naan breads are the best anywhere. The staff, as usually were exceptional and remembered me and always make you feel welcome. The best curry house of its kind in the whole of the south west.

My first time visiting and wow what an amazing place. My husband and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary and we couldn’t have chosen a better venue. All the staff were so lovely, and the food was out of this world. We ordered Lamb Korai and Chicken Chatnai plus lots of sides and everything was extremely delicious. We totally over ordered, and the portion sizes were very generous. The waiter very kindly packed up all our leftover food for us to take home. I just wanted to say thank you as we had such a lovely evening, and I’m so pleased you also do home delivery. We will definitely be ordering by from you again very soon.

This restaurant is just absolutely amazing. The food is delicious, the staff are friendly and attentive and the service is outstanding. This is one of my favourite places to head for dinner in Swindon. A lovely atmosphere and excellent value for money. I always look forward to eating out here.

Worst experience ever. 1. The manager kept nagging us to order even when we were eating. 2. Asked for cutlery, they didn't have enough 3. £25 for biryani, which came as a side dish in a plate with a big bowl of raita (should have been opposite) Tasteless food, not worth the money.

Ordered a takeaway for first time in a while, what can I say. Ready on time, food was hot and delicious. Each curry was different and flavoursome, felt like they went above and beyond. Such a great meal. Will have to try sitting in next time. Fantastic food

On this occasion I ordered food for home delivery to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Online ordering was easy, delivery was prompt and the food was hot, delicious and portions very generous. I would definitely recommend Biplob and will certainly order from them again.

My friends and I ate here December 1st (last night) and it was such a lovely meal. We shared several different dishes, and all were as lovely as the next. Particular favourites were, Chicken Biriyani and the Butter Chicken - would absolutely recommend. Service was excellent and food was brought out very quickly. The restaurant was very pretty, and very clean! As we were leaving it was getting very busy, but the restaurant is very big so you don’t notice the hustle and bustle. Will definitely be eating here again soon!

Lamb Rogan Josh is one of my favourite Indian dishes and this one was truly awful. It had too much chilli which overwhelmed any other flavours that might have been in it and the lamb was very tough. Some of the pieces I gave up chewing and had to leave on the side of my plate. The poppadoms and associated sauces were okay but not great - slightly soft rather than crispy. The service was okay except that when they asked how are meal was, and I told the poor chap about the poor mine was, he clearly didn't know how to respond. There was no apology or attempt at service recovery. The reason I haven't given the restaurant the lowest score is that my friend said his veggie Bhoona was very nice and the ambience of the restaurant was good.

I was in Swindon for a couple of nights, and visited Biplob on my first evening….stunning! My second night I had a choice of 1001 restaurants, but decided to return to Biplob. Surely that says a lot. Certainly worth a visit.

I love this place, I love the food it’s the best Indian restaurant EVER! Beautiful food, the staff are super, 10 out of 10.

The staff as absolutely outstanding and the food is top notch. Always polite & friendly and all will go out of their ways to help you and do anything to suit your needs. What you pay for is what you get.. I would recommend anyone who is wanting an Indian to go here because you definitely will not get the experience anywhere else like you do here!

Best Indian Restaurant in Wiltshire not just Swindon! Would go again, coming back next week and for a co-operate Christmas party.

Haven’t been to this restaurant before and was slightly underwhelmed by the experience Quite slow service and very serious waiters who never cracked a smile. The Tikka masala was crimson red which was a bit worrying. The mushroom rice was slightly dry but other than that an enjoyable experience. Not as good as the Zaika Valley .

We have been visiting Biplob for over ten years and we have only ever had a great experience and I thought after tonight it was about time I wrote a review. The food has always been excellent as has the service. We have also regularly enjoyed their take always which offer the same fantastic quality of food. Tonight they surpassed themselves. We ate there with the children this evening and the staff were so friendly and good with our young children, making jokes and making them laugh too. Someone came to see how we were enjoying our meal. They went over and above to make it an enjoyable experience. When we left I counted 5 members of staff who said thank you and good night and they were very busy but made the time. I had started to forget what superb customer service looks like having dined at many places with disappointingly poor customer service which most often seems the norm these days. We have never needed to go to any other Indian restaurant in town as we have always been more than satisfied with the consistently highly quality of food and service which is beautiful and I highly recommend it to anyone.

Had a meal, with friends, on 14 January 2023. Very courteous staff, very attentive, Maitre D was very good and polite. Food was fantastic, I opted for the Rogan Josh, excellent. Friends were similarly impressed. Will definitely go again.

Ordered for delivery for the first and last time. The sauce of the Lamb Rogan Josh was split, it was also grainy and had a foul taste. The meat seemed to be cooked well but was far from edible. The Onion Bhaji was nice! Popadoms...

We were staying overnight in Swindon when we chanced upon the Biplob. There was plenty of choice on the menu. Staff were friendly and attentive. Service was quick even though it was a busy Friday evening. Would definitely recommend.

Not a good Indian restaurant. I ordered saag baji, spicy tikka chicken masala and lemon rice. Lemon rice was pilau rice with raw l3mon chopped in to it before serving, the saag baji had been fried in oil previously used to fry fish, it had an overwhelming taste of fish to it and was left almost untouched. Chicken tikka masala was reasonable only. There have to be better Indian restaurants in Swindon, if there are steer clear of the Biplob.

Arrived after booking in advance and we were immediately greeted with a grumpy waiter who did not bother to ask how we were or create a welcoming environment. As a party of 4 on a Saturday evening we expected it to be busy, but getting the attention of a waiter was irritatingly difficult and when we did, the staff would barely stop to listen to your request before shooting off. We had the prawn korma and tikka masala (which we asked to be spicy but came extremely mild). Both dishes were very average. The naan breads were OK, a little dry. I would always expect after a short while after being served food to be revisited by a waiter to check the food is OK, but no one bothered to check. We were overcharged for popadoms that we did not order. When we did pay the bill, you would expect the waiter to ask how the evening was or at the least wish you a good evening, however the waiter said nothing as we paid, not even a thank you. In all honesty, we regretted booking this restaurant over our usual Indian. We would definitely not come back. 0/5 for service2.5/5 for food

Rokib and his team catered our wedding in Christ Church community centre and it was fabulous. They also ran a bar. The food, service and organisation was incredible. Every one LOVED the food. Thank you Rokib from the bottom of our hearts

Booked in advance for first Saturday afterlock down ,seems a lot of people had same idea as very busy , 4 x Chicken Masala and rice taste was the same as i remember from my last visit , Great service too.

As we're in lockdown, we were confined to a takeaway meal for my son't birthday. I'm always concerned about the quality of cuisine anywhere I eat and I couldn't fault this meal. We had a seafood platter starter, vindaloo, pilau rice, green side salad and Peshwari naan. Complimentary poppadoms with chutney were added. The food was well cooked, without excessive oiliness, the salad as fresh as you could wish it to be and it was all ready for collection on time. As it was a takeaway, I'm not able to comment on some of things asked abut the restaurant, itself, although from experience, I know the decor to be comfortable and more modern in than in many, locally, so would have loved to eat there.I'll be getting my next takeaway from The Biplop without a doubt!

All the tables have been arranged & screens erected to meet (or even exceed) current Covid guidelines The menu is a mix of dishes & his chefs will adapt to your preference or dietary needs. We thoroughly recommend Biplobs for quality service & safety.

Had a takeaway tonight, we’ve had a lot of curry’s over lockdown... but first time here and last ...so disappointed had about four mouth fulls and then it went in the bin ... no taste what so ever, it was like having a curry from a jar ... well I’ve had better from a jar .... I’m not sure how you can get a takeaway so wrong , especially with no customers eating in ... we came on recommendation ,but sadly disappointed and still hungry...

I’d give them no stars if I could , terrible service , made to wait over an hour to pick up a takeaway only to find it had spent 15 mins on the side so was given to me cold .

We have been visiting the restaurant for about 30 years since it was in the basement and is our normal choice for Indian in Old Town.

Haven’t been to the Biplob in years. However, after friends telling me how good it is, we decided to give it a go. We booked for 6pm on a Monday during the eat out to help scheme. Good job we booked, it was packed. The food, was as good if not better than our normal go to Indian restaurant. Everything was well presented, beautifully spiced and flavoursome. The kids gave there chicken tikka masala, and the buttered chicken 10 out of 10!. My jalfrezie was very good, a solid 9. My wife’s tiger prawn dish was excellent, just lacked enough prawns. Only 3 . However, larger than normal tiger prawns. My only criticism, is being charged for the dips that come with the poppadoms. I’m sure this isn’t necessary. Will definitely be returning, to sample more delights from the menu.

I dined with a friend Monday night during the eat out scheme and it was great to see the restaurant with a buzzy atmosphere you’d normally see at the end of the week and it was good to be back. The food was amazing as always and the service at the table was good, especially considering it was busy. However, it was a real shame our evening didn’t start with the same quality service and welcome from your front of house, perhaps it was someone new? The “banter” if you can even call it that was actually very offensive and insulting to my friend and that has made us not want to rush back. The food and service from other staff members can’t be faulted though, hence the rating.

First time dining out during the Covid period, booked online and got a quick message of acceptance. Turned up to a very busy restaurant midweek, greeted by a man in full PPE, he insisted we used the santizer before going to the table.Food as ever was brilliant, great service in the circumstances.Highly recommend and will use again

My family ate in the restaurant for my sons birthday and had an excellent meal. We felt very safe with tables spaced apart with screens in between tables. All staff wore masks and gloves and kept back from our table when taking our order. We chose the banquet menu which was really good value. We all enjoyed our meal very much. Will definitely go back.

Myself and 2 sons were looking for a quick Curry sit down after lockdown , This was my first time here but wont be my last , Service was excellent and restaurant adhered to new rules admirably ,3 Chicken Tikka Masalla with pilau rice were fantastic , really enjoyable , i did book ahead as and glad i did even for a 7.15pm sit down on a Saturday night as other people had same idea !

We're really missing our regular visits to the Biplob and were delighted to discover they are delivering during the current virus crisis.We ordered over the phone, paid by card and it was delivered an hour later.The food as always was first class, thank-you.This restaurant and its owner supports local charities all year round and I do hope lots of other regulars are supporting Rokib and his team during this crisis.

Visited a couple of weeks ago. Flexible over booking. Some of us unable to make it due to heavy rain. Food and service excellent. Hope it is as good when you are able to open. Well worth a visit in an area with lots of places to eat.

I phoned ahead and enquired if they had an accessible entrance (flush to the floor) yes was the reply, I further asked if they had an accessible bathroom- complete with pull down rails around the toilet- yes was also the reply- I book a table for four.On arrival there was no flush floor entrance, I asked if they had a ramp as I was in an electric wheelchair, after waiting for 5 embarrassing minutes, they came out with some makeshift piece of wood, which was a danger.Needless to say I didn't get to taste any food and now neither would I entertain the idea, due to their sheer rudeness and ignorance

Went here on a recommendation from a friend that lives in Swindon, it was a cracking place to eat the service was fab the food, was delicious and the bill was surprisingly reasonable, what was also a nice touch was the orange segments at the end of the meal, it cleansed and refreshed you pallet, the chocolate was also nice

Lived in Swindon for years and Biplob always been reliable, decent food. Service is exceptional. The food has always had a heavy garlic bias.......certainly the Zaika & jewel are my preferred options but not at Xmas when Zaika do sittings, i.e 630pm/830pm.......behave.

Really poor rogan josh main, onion bhargi not bad but the service was very slow and worst of all the beer was flat.

The service was generally pretty good at Biplobs, I asked the waiter if I could have a table for 2 and he said yes so immediately I was pleased.When we sat down we were handed 2 menus (1 each) which was good. On the menu was some food which we ordered. The food tasted nice but I must say it was incredibly spicy. So spicy in fact that I had to go to hospital. My trip to A&E was relatively nice but I must say it did taint the evening slightly. When I returned to the restaurant after having my guts replaced the waiter apologised and gave me a full refund. He also mentioned that he would never fart by my table (unlike Bengal Square), I still don't know how he knew that they farted on me but I wasn't there to ask questions.All in all it was good experience that I would repeat at a moments notice.

We had an amazing meal here. We did not book just turned up. It was the busiest restaurant I have ever seen. So busy, noisy! Excellent food. Best methi ever. A brilliant veggie curry with all sorts of veg for a change. Excellent speedy service and not too expensive. Large portions- I couldn’t finish mine and was offered a doggy bag! Thank you

I’ve organised many team meals but never once has everyone said how much they enjoyed it. The service was impeccable, friendly and attentive. The food (5 course set menu) was delicious with a great variety enabling people to try things they wouldn’t normally. The fact the place was rammed on a Wednesday says everything to me. If you’re in Swindon definitely pay them a visit, you won’t regret it.

We went for the set menu. A wide range of beutifully cook tasty dishes arrive and were eaten with gusto. The staff were friendly attentive efficient and had a lovely sence of humour.

Caters for all, groups, families, couples etc. Spacious and well decorated, but the food is the best part of it, really enjoyable.

I have worked in Swindon for the last 10 months. A number of colleagues had told me how good the food was at Biplob.

Early arrival from work, immediately welcomed and looked after throughout our stay.

Visited midweek as a friend had recommended Biplob. The food was delicious and plentiful. The service was a little hit and miss but not too bad. However, the ambience was spoilt for us as the place was so hot it was uncomfortable. It was also very loud so not the place for a romantic meal. Would definitely visit again though as the food was very tasty.

Having enjoyed meals at The Biplob before I chose to go there for my birthday meal. A disappointing experience. The restaurant was fairly quiet but we were given a table within touching distance of a table of four people, we could hear all their conversation and we felt no privacy at all. We ordered poppadoms with pickle tray and found the spoons in the pickles to be sticky, dirty and obviously used by previous diners. I asked for clean spoons which arrived but with no apology or concern. The food was nice but the evening spoiled as I couldn’t forget the dirty spoons or enjoy the surroundings. Shame and I don’t think we’ll be going back.

With members of the family looking to meet in Swindon we decided to try an Indian buffet and opted for the biplob.

Decided to go to the Sunday buffet with a big table of 6. Excellent service and value for money. Choices are very limited but cant really complain when less than £8 per head so its good value. Would be nice if the dishes were filled a little more often and varied during the sitting which would make this a perfect score.

A Great night out wonderful food and a nice atmosphere would highly recommend this restaurant as well best to book ahead if you’re in a big party .

I wanted to write a review as there are no reviews that mention the Biplob’s ability to cater for gluten free diners.

We had a lovely meal here, a very large family birthday celebration. They looked after us all extremely well and the final bill was very reasonable. Was it the best Indian food I’ve ever had? No. However we all enjoyed what we ordered and have a great time. I’d recommend for it’s nice social environment alone.

There are several great Indian restaurants in the Swindon area and the Biplob, in Wood Street in Old Town, is certainly up there with the best. On our visit the staff were very helpful, knowledgeable and attentive and the menu offered a wide range of great value options. We had a great evening and will be returning soon.

Love it here - good service and lovely food. I went for lamb tikka, tandoori chicken and salad and chopsticks this time. Poppadoms to start with....always ❤️.

Just had a great meal here. Food was amazing! I had a Balti which had a good spice to it. Vegan and vegetarian friendly menu and huge huge portions. One of the waiters saw the birthday cards on my table and gave me a free bottle of wine as we left! Really friendly and lovely gesture. Can’t wait to go back for another meal.

A group of 6 friends who visited Swindon for the football were looking for an Indian meal and found this on the net. It was Xmas Saturday and when we walked in at 8pm it was packed. Luckily within minutes they had found us a table and brought our drinks. Draught Cobra which was a good start. Not much time passed before our main courses were brought out and all our meals were lovely. 2 of the guys had the curried fish, a bit more expensive but they said it was amazing. I have since read some scathing reviews about service etc in this forum but I must say we were all impressed and would definitely eat there again! Thanks guys!

Haven’t been to Biplop for a while but glad to know it is as good as we remembered it to be. We ate there before going to the theatre and our food and drinks were delivered promptly. Butter chicken and the lamb rogan josh kept everyone happy, very tasty. Delish naan bread. Must go back there again soon because even at the busiest time of year their standards are consistent.
