I love it! My favorite bar in Glasgow!!!!

Popped in here before and the ambiance was good. One of those pubs where you have a nice conversational noise without music drowning out the place. Good selections of drinks and one of the best pints I have had in a long time. The name was related or sounded like a Scottish isle. Would definitely go back.

Nice atmosphere, friendly helpful staff, nice menu, generous portions, good value.

The best fish and chips I've ever had! Our waitress Beatrice was attentive and helpful. The atmosphere was fun but not too rowdy.

I ate there with my friend one lunchtime. The atmosphere is great, chill and cozy. The music is super nice and the meal is good. In the evening the place seems quite popular! We decided not to have dinner there.

Love this pub, the cheap margaritas & the dog that’s always around! Really nice vibe in the pub and some great food on top of that!

This is usually our bar of choice when in the area however the unfriendly staff today put us off. The bartender was verging on rude. We stayed for one drink then left. Don’t think we will be back sadly.

Didn't have any food .Just a relaxing time having a few drinks .The punters were really friendly too.All in all great atmosphere - It was our first time but we will be back.I think it will be a Friday night - steak night - looks a really good deal as well - check it out 💯

Visited on an overnight stay in Glasgow, and it was amazing, great food, fantastic atmosphere and very friendly staff. If ever we are in Glasgow again this place is definitely on our to do list. Thanks guys.

Came here with a friend. We had fish and chips and brisket burger . Both were were well prepared and tasty. Waiters are nice and service was quite fast. A good experience.

Great lunch spot as they had Amazing food and welcoming atmosphere. Definitely recommend as their fish and chips were the best we had in Glasgow.

Excellent food and customer service

Only had food once and nothing to complain about. Got the steak frites and the steak was a little over for what I asked for but still nice. Will be looking to try their Sunday roast which looks great value. Always get served quick enough and Margaritas are £5.50 all week and are banging. Very cosy wee place inside and a great space outside.

Just fantastic. I trusted the good reviews and wasn't disappointed. We came to grab a meal with our 2 year old, and were made very welcome. Menu tailored on demand for the wee man. Also, played fetch with the resident dog and the smallest stick ever!

The Big Slope is a wonderful place to eat dinner. The service was fantastic and the burgers we ate were amazing and very tasty. If you're looking for a budget friendly place to dine, this is it!

Typing this as I'm sat in here. Brilliant service, food was incredible. Dog friendly (we don't have a dog but there were a few friendly pooches in and out while we've been here). Hidden gem, but well worth a visit.

Amazing dog friendly pub l, we had the Sunday roast and burger and both were amazing. The staff were really friendly to us and our dog and made us feel very welcome. It is such a nice pub to have a drink or food and if you have a dog you will feel very welcome. Definitely coming back next time I am in Glasgow.

Decent venue for meeting friends for drinks. Problematic for ordering food; table service is limited (i.e. the waiter is hardly around and you have to try and flag them the odd occasion they're bolting past) and you can't order food at the bar.

Love coming here for a few drinks after work! Nice cosy atmosphere, with outdoor seating in summer. They also do nice food, I enjoy the loaded fries and a pint.

Visited on a cold, wet October lunchtime. The log burner and the warm welcome from the staff were very much appreciated. The food was excellent, with the chorizo and black pudding hash being a stand out dish.

A huge fan of this place. The environment is great, the food and drink is good but the service has for YEARS been absolutely terrible. It’s worth going to experience it. Want cutlery for your food? Better get to the bar and ask. Want another drink whilst you’re having your meal? Better get to the bar and ask. It’s honestly got so much potential, but they staff are simply not good enough

I really do love this bar, but as someone with mobility needs it’s not accessible. That can be a bit off putting even though I frequent this venue a lot. It is mainly with friends. But as I said it is very much still a nice place to meet pals and have a couple drinks. I really enjoyed the vegan loaded fries they had as well. But I feel that they could do with a couple additional vegan options on the menu. Overall really enjoyable place

Lurking in the heart of Glasgow's West End, you'll find The Big Slope, a veritable Pandora's box of cross-continental culinary delights. As unpretentious as a backyard barbeque, yet as cosmopolitan as a gathering at the UN. Prices for food are very competitive, providing excellent value for money. The star of the show? The Pork Belly Salad, a divine orchestration of crispy pork belly that dances a sultry tango with an ensemble of fresh greens and mango sauce. The combination is a culinary sonnet that could make Shakespeare swoon. The Sunday Roast is not to be underestimated, either. It's a hearty, comfort-inducing offering that reminds you of your grannies kitchen. Then there's the Squid. Oh, the Squid! So tender, it's a paragon of succulence. Regrettably, the Prawns always miss the mark. A chronically over-fried crowd that could take a lesson in restraint from their aforementioned brethren. In short, The Big Slope is a culinary climb worth making – for the Pork Belly Salad, the Sunday Roast, and the Squid. A bit of extra care with the Prawns, and they could turn this four-star hill into a culinary mountain.

Big Slope is a great hangout for students. Surprisingly it's also a haunt for locals, with some good beers and a decent food selection.

So glad to have found this cracker of a dog friendly pub. We were nearby with our dog and found this place on a Google search. Dinner was lovely and the staff were great especially Rhianna. Cocktails were great value also. Will definitely be back.

Only here for drinks today but very impressed with location, atmosphere and service. Special mention for George, this guy works his socks off! We were here for 2 hours and he never stopped! All in all a very good bar, we will be back

Went for food and drinks on hottest day of the year. Everything was great other than the non existent customer service by the owner. I was left infuriated by how I’d been treated for a simply request. Guaranteed to never return or give this guy my money again.

Great pub, lovely ambience and good mixed crowd, drinks fairly priced. Great place to sit outside and watch the world go by.

We got there just before the kitchens closed, so they had run out of a few menu items, but we enjoyed what we had, and the prices were quite reasonable.

Busy bar. Difficult to get a table for 4. St Mungo beer was excellent.

He says, slightly off the beaten track, but Big Slope is a diamond in the rough. Went in for food, the one barman was excellent. Not only did he get our order at the table quickly, he moved us to a table next to the real fire since it was cosier there. Food was excellent, my special of the steak and mushroom pie was lovely. She says, I wish I lived closer and could go here every day. Dog friendly pub (I don't have a dog but love to say hello to any locals!) Lovely decor, friendly service, cozy fire, amazing spicy Laksa to eat. All in all, a brilliant pub 😍

Really enjoyed our first meal in Glasgow. Only recommendation I have is a different type of mozzarella for the pizzas. Everything else was great. Thank you.

Nice enough, but on that particular day there were too many very shouty kids dining around us, it felt like a creche, very loud and not a relaxing lunch as planned. Chicken burger wasn't great, basically very deep fried chicken strip, more coating than chicken. Fish was pretty small too. Overall, a bit disappointed as have been before and had a fabulous lunch

We spent three weeks in Scotland this past September, and hands down, the fish and chips at Big Slope were the best. It took a little while for the food to come up, but since there was plenty of beer, no worries!

Cool vibe and great margaritas!

We watched several world cup matches here and really enjoyed the atmosphere. The wait staff was friendly and attentive, the food good, and the beer selection ample. The nice touch is a wood fireplace burning on one side of the pub.

Absolutely love this place, it's such a hidden wee gem and has now become one of my favourite locals, great atmosphere, food, friendly service and great cosy bar inside! Also, can't go wrong with the Margs!

Loved it here - such lovely staff and the prawn and calamari starters were terrific. I loved my pizza (I hardly ever have pizza but I'm veggie and this one looked good) and the wine was well priced. They even played Roxy Music tunes - the main reason we were in town!

Talk about funky!!! We had arrived in Glasgow at lunchtime and went out late evening and thought we pop into a pub close by. We were met with the most quirky music ever (we are both music lovers) but this was a little different and had our toes tapping all night. We felt a little peckish and ordered a pizza. Totally delicious. This is a fabulous place if you look for something a little different. Very relaxed and chilled.

Yeah this place is super cool. This was my first stop from our hotel as a first time American tourist. The atmosphere is very laid back, the staff were chill and the food was delicious!!! We instantly met some good people. The waiter and bartenders were cool, accommodating and patient with us. I immediately felt comfortable being here. Definitely recommend for a relaxed and delicious bite.

Pricier than other similar places, but good music and atmosphere

Well we wanted somewhere different but regular menu, nothing too fancy. This place is a secret during the day I would imagine. So much so we drove past it! Seemed to have its locals when we were there. As only in the area for two days, this was deffo one of the best places to have visited and very reasonably priced. I had the fish and chips. Well, I say chips, they were very fat chips almost wedges and so crunchy. The fish was beautiful and in a light batter. Delicious. Hubby had the burger and was stuffed! Had most of it round his mouth! Lol. Very friendly waitress who didn't bother us like a lot of places do. She allowed us to eat out meals in peace. Dog friendly place as well, as we were greeted by a customer's two lovely dogs. It was a very quiet time we went but that was perfect for us. Deffo recommend. Thanks.

Nice food and excellent atmosphere

Only been in for drinks. Discovered when out for drinks with my mum on mother's Day and it's a favourite of ours now! The £4.50 margaritas are quality and the other cocktails of offer are fantastic. Haven't tried the food, but can only imagine it's great. Aesthetically, it's a really cool bar with a great beer garden that gets good sun coverage in the afternoons.

Had the panco breaded prawns.. loads of them and delicious...def going back for more

NOT 6 NATIONS FRIENDLY!! Was in Glasgow for a weekend in February 2022 and as we passed by, noticed Big Slope advertising they were showing live 6 Nations matches. Watched the Scotland v Italy match no problem, there was a reasonable crowd in but not too many interested in the rugby. In between matches, they turned volume down and switched channels. Fair enough. When Ireland v England match came on, they turned channel back to the rugby but no sound? We asked staff to turn up volume but were told they "only put volume on for Scotland matches because it would annoy more customers than not" to put volume on for other games. I know for a fact at least 3 other groups asked for the volume to be put up and by this time there was a good crowd and far, far more engagement with the rugby in this game that the Scotland one!! Still didn't turn up volume. Avoid if you're a genuine rugby fan who just wants to watch the 6 nations. Otherwise, nice enough atmosphere and decent burgers.

Lovely bar. Popped in for a quick bite. The stone baked pizza was amazing. The barman was very pleasant and attentive. I would definitely return.
