We visited Big Saj and ordered a small cod and chips. When we came home, the cod was very oily and full of batter and chips felt like they had been warmed up. We contacted the shop to let them know and they weren’t helpful at all. After calling up twice and going there twice, we finally got a refund. Dissatisfied as we were regular customers but this shop doesn’t care about loyalty

They seem to be charging for cod fish and giving an alternative poor quality fish this has Happened to us on 2 occasions. When confronted the staff are dam rude I suppose that says it all.

Only bought a sausage that should not be sold .. normally the food is good from here but there is one time when a local comes in and gives a bad review..sorry big s you let the side down ..don't sell over cooked food to top reviewer's

Never again. Queued patiently queuing system bad. Was watching the chips served which appeared burnt. The server could have appeared a lot cleaner and indeed the establishment. I left without ordering because he let someone in front of me.

Great food and prices are reasonable, young man served me very polite and courteous, usually the older guys are not so friendly

These guys should rebrand to 'Little Sajs' as all portions are tiny! Literally saw the guy counting the chips into the tray! £2 for a cone of chips. Also the shop is a little disorganized and customer service non existent. Won't be back.

Kebab meat so greasy that I asked for my chips to be wrapped separate - so they charged me an extra £2.50 for the pleasure! Their 1 star Food Hygiene Rating (awarded by the Food Standards Agency) is hardly surprising. The SF Chicken on offer looks as though it belongs in a museum (been on display for that long). Definitely a place to avoid; this mickey mouse eatery makes my local soup kitchen look like the Ritz.

Bad gut after a saveloy. Very greasy. Charge more than it says. Gross hygiene probs explains the bad tummy. Too busy chatting to each other to bother about customers. Not going again as it's too much of a health risk...

The service depends on who is serving you however it's often unhygienic as I would've found that it would make me sick when I would try to eat their fish or the burgers. - microwave the food - don't wash their hands - most of them can't speak proper English - sometimes you get ignored instead they talk to their friends however usually fast service - potential food poisoning - some of the employees make the total price up making you potentially spend more money ( being scammed)

Brought chicken & chips the warmed the chicken in a microwave which is disgusting no one dose that. Man walked in didn't wash his hands and started serving the customer. Absolutely shambles 0*. No parking 😔

Wish I could have given 0 stars. Got SF Chicken with fillet burger. It was like been cooked a week ago. Dry. Stringy. Literally chucked away after 2 bites. Please avoid if you don't want a bad stomach. Absolutely disgusting

Ordered pizza and they gave wrong order Staff very unprofessional and food very expensive the lady on the call said if u want to add more it 1 pound extra rip offs never ordering from here again Fries very dry and burnt Also pizza wasn't cut properly when taking a slice aoo the cheese on the pizza falls off disgusting

Over the past few years I've been going to big say, unfortunately lately I've stopped and wouldn't recommend to anyone else, I'd tried few times their cooked food,,the taste was horrible so I won't be going there in future

The food quality is on the lower side but they are pretty fast. Only good for if you're really hungry and need to eat something pronto. The food is oily and chicken is always undercooked. 5 stars for fast service and maybe 3 stars for food quality.

The chips and chicken 🐔are really nice and delicious 😋 am not even going to lie but there is a problem with customer service and professionalism. Other than this, the place is good.

Attitude of the staff is appalling no customer service skills they said they delivered food but never turned up when made a complaint. Staff member instead of offering money back or redeliver food basically said we don't need your service anyway disgraceful behaviour if I could give 0 stars I would. It's probably devine intervention the food didn't turn up as they have 1 star food hygiene rating nasty.

1. Hygiene is definitely a problem 2. The food is microwaved 3. Not fresh 4. Sometimes when u get served they will make up the amount of money you should pay 5. Get the owner to do your food since he knows more then the people that actually make the food 6. The service is either good or bad ( never in between) sometimes you would get ignored by them because they are serving their friends

Cheap and cheerful mini fish and chips

Very bad service took almost 1 hour just for 1 portion of cod and chips although phoned them before going. Also ordered 2 extra chips which all was cold and stale. Never going there again.

I am amazed that staff can make up prices as they go along. Even tho most prices are displayed, always check the total figure as it does not always add up. Sometimes, I just want chicken without chips, some staff charge anything from £1.00 to £1.10 per piece, others charge the same amount whether you have chips or not they have no set pricing rules. Staff wear grubby dirty clothes and can be rude to customers. They will totally ignore you to serve their friends. They need to clean up their clothes, hand washing hygiene, customer service skills and pricing. Personally, I wont be going there again.

A local chippy which offers fat juicy chips. The service is fast, hygiene is thorough and service is fast. This is a popular chippy that serves burgers, kebabs, savloy, pies to your standard fish n chips.

This shop is one of my personal favourites and I am a regular customer. The staff are friendly and nice. My personal favourite is the chicken and chips. The chicken is nice and tender. I recommend this shop to anyone.😊😊

Asked for a cone of chips, was served ‘cold chips’ instead...waste of time, had to repeat that i want salad, chilli mayo at least 3 times😒 would not recommend, unless you like ur chips cold that is.

This review is being written after many visits, not just the one occurrence. Big Saj looks to be a family owned establishment. The staff are somewhat friendly, but can be a tad rude on some occasions. Staff need to be more hygienic. Staff hardly wash their hands after touching utensils, money, and food. Staff need to be clean shaven or they need to wear a hair net around their beards. Staff uniform and an apron will be very beneficial instead of wearing their own rags during work. Sometimes the dirty state of your clothes puts me right off. I know you are a chippy, but your food is way too greasy! Using some grease paper will go a long way. All in all, i gave it a 3 out of 5 as you are somewhat better than some of the other chippy's in the local vicinity.

Bought fish and chips numerous times. It was lovely. However the fish and chips tonight was nasty and the fish tasted off tonight. I had to leave it and throw it in the bin... Disappointed.
