Big Moe's Diner in Redbridge

It's great that they have games here but it's very noisy with kids running around the restaurant. I know the staff probably have little control but they should encourage parents to keep their kids with them. It feels more like a playground than a restaurant, it could be the time we visited and the place is probably more suited for families with young children. The food was ok nothing amazing.

Our server Vishali was wonderful and treated us so nicely and served us well. She was able to take our orders well and was just so nice

I like to support our local restaurants but today we were very disappointed. For the price paid, the burgers lack quality, meat overcooked and dry. Burgers too small and chips were ordinary, lack flavours (no different to chips at Chester’s) and again very small portion. Plus they charged 10% for service. Not good. This was my first experience at Big Mo’s and could be my last.

Great service and amazing food. We had the pleasure of having Vish as our server and she made our experience 1000 times better! Would definitely come back!

I’ve been to big moes when it was in barking/beckton (can’t remember which) before they moved here and left a review but it got taken down now that they moved to Ilford. My friend has gone here the other day and had only bad things to say and after reading other negative reviews, I’m gonna repost my last review because these Lot can’t get away with this nonsense: It was extremely overpriced - £8.95 for a sharing platter of wings, but it was only 5 wings which is almost £2 per wing. They tricked my friend into paying £1.15 for cheese on his burger (which should come standard it’s literally a burger). They said it was free but then we saw it on the bill - worst part was it looked so dead I thought it was pineapple when I saw it. The burger was horrific it crumbled in my mouth and it was so bland I couldn’t finish it. They charged me 12.5% for service charge when I had to go up to them to give my order, and then go collect my food - I remember the stupid lady was shouting excuse me and pointed and my food in front of her and I was like is she not gonna bring it over? Again this is from before they relocated but after that experience I ain’t letting them get away with any of that especially seeing other people give bad reviews.

I ordered wings and chips and they were amazing. I also ordered a pb and choc shake and it was the best shake I’ve had. Vish served me quickly and took good care of me

Was working in London for a week, and regularly came here for dinner. The burger was really nice, and the woman who served me, Naila, was lovely and polite. Will come here again if im in the area

Nalia was amazingly friendly and cheerful throughout out our visit. Very patient as we got too distracted by the amazing decor to decide on what to actually order. Atmosphere was 5* and I wish there was something like this closer to where I live

Service was excellent. Nila who served us was so pleasant and courteous and went above and beyond to ensure we were satisfied. The unexpected birthday shake, balloon and music was indeed a pleasant surprise for my 11 year old princess.

Had the platter. Chicken was juicy and flavourful, ribs were spiced well and tender. Chips decent. Only complaint is the brisket was dry and seemed overcooked. Overall a good experience, would recommend.

This was our second visit to Big Mo’s in Ilford, and once again, it absolutely blew us away! The food here is honestly next level — everything we ordered was packed with flavour, perfectly cooked, and served hot and fresh. You can really tell the ingredients are top quality, and the attention to detail in every dish is just incredible. A massive thank you to Naila for the exceptional customer service — she made us feel so welcome and looked after us throughout the meal. Friendly, attentive, and always with a smile — she really added to the whole experience. We’ll definitely be coming back again. If you haven’t been to Big Mo’s yet, you’re seriously missing out!

Poor service and the brisket burger had no taste.

Food is awful. Went with my husband and ordered an American burger with cheesy chips as well as the BBQ chicken tenders. Chicken tenders were ridiculously small and coated in a very cheap tasting acidic sauce. Burger was quite small but we ate it. Cheesy chips were dry and burnt. We did not pay for the tenders as they were inedible but were still charged £17.66 for the meal even though we didn’t eat anything other than the burger. Definitely don’t recommend!

Got a nice takeaway milkshake from here. Very pleasant staff. It was extremely noisy whilst waiting in the restaurant with the noise of the tabletop game that people were playing, hitting disks.

Good food and plenty of options. Service was a little slow but it was worth the wait.

Great Food Great Service from Vish Had a lovely brisket Platter for two and the portion size was huge. Will be coming again

The restaurant is really great, I recommend it, the waitress Vish was really very nice and very professional. We were only passing through and in the end it was the place where we ate the best in London since the start of our stay. The meat was tender, the chicken was the same, really a 10/10!

She gave us an extra burger just because the burger we ordered came without cheese :)))) highly recommend

We visited here on the weekend as a family for the 1st time since the Newham Showcase branch closed. We were really pleased with the atmosphere and ambience, as well as the pool table. We were seated quickly but they were very busy. We waited a while for a server to come and take our order. He relocated us somewhere a bit more comfortable which was kind. He took our order, and after sitting for a while with our drinks, we found some change to play pool. We had to chase the cola soda float. Our order took a long time to come so it's a good thing we were kept busy playing pool. 3 of our 5 mains arrived, we had to chase a server for the beef brisket and our second buffalo burger. It turns out they didn't add the second buffalo burger to the order. The beef brisket came eventually but it was Luke warm as if it had been plated but sitting for a while. I didn't want to eat it at the temperature it arrived. The server told us that they could heat it up but that the chef would not recommend it as it would affect the quality of the meat. She offered anything else on the menu, at no cost and we wouldn't be charged for the brisket. This was an agreeable alternative, so they brought our a second buffalo burger, and third for me along with the skins we'd forgotten we'd ordered. They also brought out extra chips for us as a gift, and we're very apologetic for all the mishaps. They sent us home with an extra burger meal and a bottle of koppaburg as a gift also. It was a shame there were mistakes, but they more than compensated and we left happy and smiling. Thanks team.

Absolutely delicious. Service was 10/10 big thank you to Nayla who demonstrated great hospitality and took care of us with recommendations and tips. The atmosphere was amazing my kids loved the decor and really made the meal extra special. 10/10 highly recommended

Waited soo long for someone to come serve us, even after trying to flag a server down for a while. The food was MID, no seasoning ANYWHERE. Took me friends here for a nice little get together and it was very disappointing. The burgers were actually SOO MID TO THE POINT WHERE WE SAID THIS IS WHAT MUST HAVE CAUSED THE GREAT DEPRESSION. OH AND THE TOILET STANK

We went to big mos diner today with my family. The minute we entered the restaurant the staffs welcomed us with a smile. Abdullah recommended us to try Cajun chicken wings which was delicious thanks Abdullah. Eliza was very helpful, nice and professional. It’s our 2nd time going there and we will be back again.

Booked via Groupon. Called up. They were fine for me to come in. But then the manager decided to say no because of the 24 hour rule. I’m confused. So is it 24 hour after I purchase the voucher or not. Just wanted to give it a go before being a regular. Glad I’m going elsewhere. Ilford is spoilt for choice. Shouldn’t be doing that when they’re trying to get back in business. Shops always empty. Made no sense to me. People have stopped going there for a reason lol

Food was great! One of the drinks wasn't sugar free, it was our mistake (wife is diabetic) and they happily replaced it with the correct drink for free. They were very accommodating of all requests including providing hot water to make our 8 months old baby feed. Great place with great food and atmosphere. Great place for families. I went to Big Moes (Ilford) today for the Easter half term with my two young children and we had such a lovely time. Staff were very kind and friendly, making sure my children received their goody bags and even offering extra balloons to take home. Service was great and really fast and efficient. Food was served fast too and everything tasted fantastic! We will definitely be back. All the waiters/waitresses (Zayn in particular) were just so amazing towards my children which makes such a difference when eating out with them. Thank you for making our dinner out so easy and pleasant

Not usually one to leave a bad review, but didnt appreciate the experience I had here. I had a 9pm booking, and admittedly turned up around 15 minutes late (newborn baby schedule!). The place was empty and I was told they were now closed (over an hour earlier than their advertised closing time). I was with my family and they could see us with a stroller etc., so would have appreciated some flexibility, or at least a heads up call to say that they would be closing soon. Not sure what the service is usually like, but this didn’t leave a great impression and hope they can take this feedback on board for next time.

I remember the OG Big Moe’s from Beckton, when the food was amazing and you wanted to keep on going back for more. Each meal was full of wonderful surprises and was the go to place for gatherings or intimate dinners. Sadly, having moved to Ilford, it’s lost its charm in terms of quality of food and customer service. You could say there is better food out there nowadays and competition, especially in Ilford, is stiff. The food was very mediocre. Most of the starters seemed like frozen food bought from Farm Foods which was fried to order. We had the grilled chicken for mains. Given the restaurant is situated next to Nando’s you’d think they’d want to compete with the best. Unfortunately very underwhelming and no marinade had seeped in beneath the skin. Portion sizes were below average. The saviour was the soft swirl ice cream which for £1.99 was very good! Drinks were very average. Non-branded due to boycotts so wasn’t expecting much. Service could have redeemed the visit somewhat but each person we came across was as clueless as the next. Basic fundamentals such as providing plates for us to eat on seemed like rocket science. At one point we waited several minutes just for plates that could fit the mains (she came over with tiny ones at first). We literally had to force them to take our order and the place wasn’t even busy at 3pm. Employing staff who struggle to grasp basic requests isn’t the one for paying customers. It was disappointing to see that the fixtures and fittings were simply moved from the Beckton branch to Ilford. As such, the furniture had seen better days and was mostly torn and worn out. Improved cleaning standards would help as the seats and tables were filthy but this doesn’t seem to be a priority for staff. The only reviews that seem to be hyping up this place are food reviewers who have been paid for their meals and reviews. They seem to have visited a completely different establishment than what we experienced. Don’t be fooled by the pictures as lighting can deceive. There is scope for this place to be brilliant, much like it used to be in Beckton. But it would require staff training, improved cleaning practices and ensuring the food is freshly prepared, not frozen re-heated. For this price point, there are plenty of better options a stones throw from Clements Road. The owners need to stop living off the reputation this place had 15+ years ago. The industry has moved on and so have people’s expectations. I regretted my visit today as it didn’t live up to my expectations and that nostalgic feel just didn’t materialise at all. Sad, really.

Fantastic restaurant in the heart of Ilford. Family friendly, and the service is 10/10. I visited the restaurant twice in the last few months, and burgers are top quality. I tried the double patty cheese burger and cheesy chips with garlic bread, and it tasted delicious. Highly recommend this place. I also ordered via Uber Eats for delivery, and the food tasted just as great.

The whole experience was made lovely by Zayn. His full of warmth and took great care of us. All food was served at once which was great. Shubu took our order, he was great at explaining the menu platter deal, he was patient while we were still deciding. -It would be nicer if the song volume could be turned down a bit so it’s easier to listen to one another.

Fast and quality food. Great atmosphere, really quirky interior. Zayn was happy, friendly and catered to our every request as swiftly as he could. Would highly recommend :)

Service was absolutely horrible from one of the waiters, cancelled our booking and sent us to the back of the queue when we had to break our fast, really had high hopes for this place.

The only reason I like this place is because brother dwayne Omar is the back bone and upholding foundation to what keeps this place alive.

Booked a table for 7pm didnt get acknowledged til 7.20pm then finally got seated at 7.30pm. We had decided what we wanted quite quickly but trying to find someone to take our order took half an hour almost for some reason on a Saturday evening they only had one girl taking orders for the whole restaurant. Put our order in and honestly it felt like almost an hour for food to come. The starter platter was nice everything on there was tasty then the pittmasters platter we ordered came and the rack of ribs that came as part of it was literally all fat no meat like it was disgusting. Spoke to the manager to maybe have it replaced but to even get someone to come took ages. She came and said the meat comes like that sometimes lol how is that ok to serve? Honestly the service was so bad and they weren't even that busy like we could see the staff standing around chatting away when we asked for help. In the end we were given 3 milkshakes for free instead of money off our bill which was fine but even that took half an hour like we sat there waiting for so long we ended up just getting up to leave and still we had to wait for the milkshakes at the counter. Don't think I'll be going back.

Very American looking diner - the decor was great and the food quality was excellent!

I have eaten here multiple times in the past years, it's a great place filled with delicious food. Today I came there to eat some Cajun spiced chicken with a side of chips. It was very nice to eat and the service there was top notch. All the servers were very helpful, especially Zayn! It's American styled 50's diner and the food is created and cooked there. There is both a nice main food selection and desserts as well. I recommend for anyone that wants to eat in a comfortable place to eat. While waiting for the food there is even a pool table and a air hockey table that's around £1 to play.
