Big 10 - Smoke & Grill in Central Bedfordshire

If you didn't know the restaurant was there, you would walk right past it. The food was really really good. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Absolutely delicious food, lovely staff and great atmosphere. This was the best pulled pork sandwich I’ve ever had in my life!!! The burger/sandwich wasn’t just looking yummy but it was juicy and very flavourful too. The ribs were lean and covered in delicious BBQ sauce. Everything was perfect. We’ll definitely be back.

Inside waa a bit loud but cannot fault it for anything else. The foods was crazy delicious, the guys running it are super friendly and did I mention the food !!!

The meat tray, fries and wings were all amazing. Think they could do a little more with the corn, beans and sausage. Only bud on top from a lager pov, very American Good value for money on the tray, plenty of food or leftovers for tomorrows lunch

Disappointed… drop in at 8pm for a takeaway to be told that they can’t cater for us !! Really !! Get that the meat is smoked and sorted to order but we weren’t even asked what we wanted ! Disappointing to say the least. Want to support local businesses but when you get service like this I question why .. when we were in COVID and we ordered weekly we got better service !!

Booked (late notice) for a table of 10 which these guys acommodated, 5 let me down and the table was halved, i let them know and they were thankful for the heads uo and not at all cross or grumpy with the fact, the 5 of us then had a great meal, good beers, great music and a lovely evening out! Really love coming to Big 10 for their monthly quiz nights! Always great fun and a great atmosphere too! The food is top notch, great burger options! The staff is especially good too, always in great spirits and very accommodating even if they are run off their feet!

Great meat and fries, excellent sauces. Highlights were the ribs, brisket and sausage. Chicken burger didn't really taste of much. Dark and Stormy cocktail was made with white rum (whoops) and tasted predominantly of lime cordial. Will definitely be back to try the wings.

The staff are friendly and the place is trendy. The dining area is up some steep steps, although there is a bar downstairs. The cocktails are really good. I didn't absolutely love the food. Went for the tray of BBQ meat, tequila and lime wings and the chicken burger. The meat on the BBQ tray was varying levels of dry. The ribs were my favourite thing. The wings tasted like tequila and lime and were quite good. The burger wasn't phenomenal.

New favourite place. Ate for the first time on Wednesday, back on Friday, and booked for Saturday too. Absolutely must try the meat platter. Coronaritas are amazing. Defo on the pickle backs next time too!

We celebrate special birthdays at our company and one of our employees requested Big10 as their birthday lunch. Having never eaten there before I wasn't sure what to expect but I put my request in for them to cater a lunch for around 30 people to be available for 1pm. The ordering process was quick and easy and the pricing was extremely reasonable. in all honesty we were not expecting them to be able to accommodate our corporate lunch request, but they did. We collected the food at 1pm from the shop. the food was perfectly packed and they even allowed us use of their thermal bags which kept the food hot. we served up the food (of which there was ample) to our staff. we had, ribs, three different flavours of chicken wings, flavoured fries and coleslaw. the food was some of the most flavoursome I have ever had. the meat on the ribs was so succulent falling from bone with ease. the chicken wings also bursting with flavour. even the staple fries and coleslaw were next level nice. everyone who had the lunch expressed that it was some of the nicest they have ever had. I now have ample requests from staff for big10 to be their birthday lunch. Thank you to Rich and the team at Big10 for such amazing food and service.

Regularly order takeaway wings on the Wing Wednesday deal (only available if kitchen has capacity) so only manage to get them 75% of the time. I had the Mango Habanero wings on Wednesday just gone and they were honestly some of the best wings I’ve ever had. The sauce tasted like sweet and sour sauce and had a decent level of punchy heat. The batter had the perfect crisp and crunch to them. I’ve tried all of the heavy hitters in london (Chkn’ sours / wingstop etc) and Big Ten definitely takes the top spot.

Food was off the scale good! My only negatives were no cash payments and the tomatoe sauce could be American or something different than the sachets provided. I'll definitely be coming back as the food was unreal.

To my knowledge, this is the only American style smokehouse left in Bedfordshire. Thankfully, the food, atmosphere, service and music are all up to the best possible standard. Their cocktail programme is also pretty good, and they make a mean mojito 🍹 If its your first time here, like it was mine on Friday, I'd like to recommend the Big 10 BBQ Tray for 1, it has a bit of the best of everything 😋

Absolutely brilliant with friends son who has proper allergies. He is allergic to peanuts and they catered for him. Went above and beyond. Good service polite staff big portions and excellent value. Both families will be back

This is a strange review for me to back. The service has always been pretty good and the staff are nice, drinks etc. This is just my opinion but I really don't like the food here. I have gone twice and got different things and feel the chips and meal are over seasoned and I just couldn't enjoy it. The last time one of the cookers/fryers was broken so the food took a while and my wings were cold. :( My wife on the other hand loves the food which is why we go back occasionally. Keep up with the service though. Very friendly.

We have just had a birthday party there for 14 and i cannot stress how much of a success it was. We have pre ordered and food was prompt and delicious (as always, we are regular customers). What we were very happy to see is that the Big 10 Team properly looked after us. They were very attentive with drink orders and clearing the table regularly. Nothing seemed too much of an ask. All guests were very impressed, for most of them this was their first time in Big 10. I always recommended the place to local friends and family, but it needs a proper shout out now 😀

Went the other day for the oepn mic ngiht. Not going to lie the place was a little small for an open mic. Only a handfull of musicians but it was a nice atmosphere none the less. All the staff were lovely and welcoming. Did feel a little in the way with the open mic area by the bar as you walk in. But couldn't knock it.

We love it here! The food and service are always exceptional, and the place itself is so cool with the spiral staircase and the separate little rooms. The toilets are always very clean, as is the rest of the venue. They do my favourite Cornish cyder, Rattler, on draft, which always brings me back here again and again.

Best beef brisket in the country!!! Can't go wrong with ordering anything here, it's all just delicious, ribs, wings, burgers, and the brisket.....makes me dribble thinking about it. Now going to place my order for Saturday collection!! And thank you guys for doing what you can and staying open during these crazy times, kudos to you all and we love you!!

To start of it was very expensive and then the food took ages , you added peri seasoning whennu didn't say that, the bun was soggy and the brisket was berried in other stuff, over all it was awful will not be coming back

Went here last year and had a lovely meal , menu was extensive and the food was great although service a little slow. I don't mind waiting for slow service if the food is good , which it was. This time though service was quicker , but food was not good in the slightest. Menu has been dramatically reduced to basically wings , burgers and ribs. I had wings and ribs . The wings were nice but the ribs seemed like they had been cooked with napalm. I was starving but ate them anyway, my wife's we inedible and were sent back and replaced with a lovely new set. Everyone else's food was nice apparently as no one had complaints. The issues I have is the drink we ordered . We ordered a pitcher of mojito . It wasn't a nice drink at all, too sour and tasted like there was no alcohol in it and also there was only 2 mint leaves in it . This was poured into two glasses and literally a sip taken from each and then sent back to the bar as we didn't feel it was correct. When given the bill the mojito was still on it , we told the manager that we didn't drink it and we weren't going to paying for it , he then proceeded to argue with us about it , until my wife had to really dig her heels in and it got really awkward. The manager did eventually take it off the bill but no before an awkward argument in the front of house. Such a shame as this was a really nice experience last year. We love to support local business but will not be returning here.

Good food, but a bit expensive!

Quite frankly it's very overpriced for what it is.. food wasn't anything special and most of it came out cold..

HUGE burgers and ribs. Food was OK - well our big group eat the lot. Situated in Ampthill, an old town with little courtyards and plenty of history on show. Go to the Big 10 hungry.

Oooohhh, GO. that's my review. If your brave and hungry do the big ten. But whatever you do if your in the area vist and enjoy.

Visited on Wing Wednesday and it was great. Wings were quality, really good chips and it was nice to find the bbq sauce and mac and cheese are both made in house. The mac and cheese was the best I've ever had in a UK restaurant. I'll be back again for sure.

Lovely place, very friendly staff with very good service, good portion sizes but the burger I had was dry sadly, although it was my first time, and due to the service being so good, I will give it another go. Especially as my partner who had been before said it had been better previously.

Absolutely love it here. Just discovered it. Delicious food and tasty cocktails.

Really disappointed, very young and I suspect inexperienced waitresses, part of the main came with the starter, mains were then wrong, desert came still frozen and coffee still had beans floating at the top. In the end we were laughing at how poor it all was, paid the very over priced bill and left.

Really quirky venue, loved the posters and paintings. Great service, our waitress was super helpful and friendly. Nice food, huge portions and my Chicken burger was moist and full of flavour. Not silly prices either. If you love meat, then this is the place for you!!
