Saltwell Gardens is a very large and popular family and dog friendly complex. With 2 children, after the playgrounds, lake and walk we went to Saltwell tower for lunch. Bewicks at Saltwell Tower is a cafe with lots of seating. It has prepared rolls, paninis and other options including quiche and salad. It appears to take advantage of it being the only food option. On this day the staff were less than helpful, the food was not tasty and was presented tepid to cold. The salad was minuscule. All food was served on paper plates and drinks in plastic cups if you asked for glasses. This cafe was a disappointment. A better option for visitors is to bring a picnic.

Called in today for a couple of ice creams,, 15 minutes later I was severed and there was only 4 other people in front of me.... staff lacked customer service skills and just worked at the slowest pace,, you would have thought its was the busiest place in town,, just take your food in future, and don't think of saying thank you or please because the staff don't know those words either. In summary ,,,, crap

The panini were soggy and quite tasteless. The tea had far too much milk poured on before it was even brewed. The staff looked either busy or bored. The floors were full of crumbs. The millionaire shortbread, chips and toilets were ok though and it was light and spacious. Thanks.

We do health walks in the park and at the end of the walk we have a cuppa and cake here where you can sit outside, weather permitting. Lovely situation with plenty to see.

I’m a new mum so always on the lookout for places to take the bairn where there is plenty of room for a buggy and you don’t feel uncomfortable. I feel like saltwell towers cafe is a little gem for this as there were loads of other mummies in there, it’s obviously a go to place in the area. Still ok for people without kids but do expect there to be severAl there! Food is nice enough with a decent selection and a very reasonable price! The cafe is quite spacious and there are lots of tables outside too. Ok, bad points.. there are always bad points lol I’ve noticed the queue can get very long which is fine if you are with somebody but I seen a lady in there the other day by herself with a screaming baby and a couple of slightly older kids, I don’t think anybody would have minded her moving up the queue but of course there is no system for this kind of thing, it’s just a shame as the wait was a good 5 minutes which can seem like an eternity sometimes. The other thing is.. the baby changing drop down unit in the toilets is minging, it needs replacing or a damn good scrub! I had my wee travel change mat but it’s such a simple thing to fix and they really should as this is a fab place to meet up with other mummies or even with the family as the park itself is fab😊

£7.20 for a sandwich that may have been assembled from across the room. Stale bread, miniscule portion of meat and ridiculous amount of salad. Not even cut all the way through so it was a mess to eat. The worst Subway I've ever been to

I honestly was so unbelievably disappointed by this experience. First time I’ve ordered from here and can safely say it will also be the last. The order was almost an hour late, the man on the phone was dismissive and abrupt both times we called for an ETA and when it did finally arrive, 2 hours after ordering, the disappointment only continued. Items were missing from the order and the items that were there were not great. The portions were tiny, the food was excessively greasy, rice burnt and in clumps, and the food was cold. I hate leaving negative reviews so seldom do but this was just such a poor experience that I feel could have been handled better. Had we had better customer service and the restaurant have made an effort to engage better, then I absolutely would have focused highly on the positives but unfortunately, that was not the outcome.

Absolutely vile !! Do not order here. Food uncooked - BBQ sauce is not gravy no matter how much she argued on the phone. Absolutely vile whole order for £25 went in the bin.

I have to say I was disappointed when I found out the breakfast menu here is basically the same stuff you get at McDonald's, but after giving it a try the little differences make it worth it. The cajun hash browns are delicious and the sauce you can get on the rolls adds a nice touch, even if it is quite a strong flavour that overpowers most of the rest of the sandwich. Liked the biscuits too.
