I wanted time to reflect on our dining experience before sending this review. It was a party of six for a birthday celebration arriving at 6.30pm to a welcoming host. The restaurant has a large TV, clean, decorated beautifully and has a homely feel. The restaurant had no other customers and very cold which we told the host but nothing was offered so we kept our coats on. I love Ethiopian food but it was new to the rest of the party so the host suggested a platter of all the dishes served at the restaurant and assured us that there would be plenty. Sadly, when the food arrived it was cold or luke warm together with the plates and injera. Also, the amount was insufficient for 6 adults although he did reheat dishes. It’s was clear that the host was the only person there and the food was not freshly prepared and cooked but reheated in a microwave. Disappointingly, the host would not acknowledge the concerns voiced therefore sadly we will not be returning but hopefully this will help with improving customer service.

Have never eaten Ethiopian food previously and the waiter was very helpful in giving guidance on menu options. The food was good (note that there is no cutlery so need to use your fingers). Service was also good. Drinks (including alcohol) were particularly cheap. Would recommend. For some reason the restaurant was out of deserts.

The three vegetarians in our party shared the vegetable platter: half a dozen delicious dishes served together on a huge plate of injera (traditional Ethiopan flat bread). The carnivore among us assured us his lamb dish was equally delicious (it certainly looked to as though it was). It was quiet on the early Saturday evening we were there, the staff were very helpful and friendly, the Ethiopian beer was delicious, and we had a great time. And it's crazy cheap!

Everything about this place was a delight. The atmosphere and service, the taste of the food (and the great things to choose from) and the amazing prices. We are lucky to have this in the centre of Sheffield. Can't wait to go back.

Incredible food and service at unbelievable prices. £3 each for an Ethiopian beer or glass of wine or £2.50 for Stella. Tastiest vegetarian platter you could wish for at just £9 was awesome. Best food ever and that's not an exaggeration.

Great experience. Had the vegetarian platter which came with a great selection if dishes served on a massive chick pea pancake. All the dishes were delicious, lovely friendly atmosphere. Already planning our next visit

We went on a Saturday, early evening. It was my partner's first experience of Ethiopian food. She loved the flavours, and the whole experience. We were given a warm welcome, and service was friendly. We went for a vegetarian platter and a lamb dish, both of which were excellent. There was plenty of food.

Fabulous tasty really reasonable price no nonsense restaurant. I have never eaten Ethiopian food before so on a visit to Sheffield came across this online and thought it worth a try. A fabulous plate of food. We had the vegetable mix with a lamb. Came served on top of a soft bread with rolls of soft naan style bread as well. Each part of this thali style meal was very tasty. A perfect place if you like trying different kinds of foods and are not fussy about utensils! Washed down with an Ethiopian beer. Two people couldn't finish our meal two bottles of beer and a soft drink all for less than 25 quid and obviously cooked round the back as we waited. Superb experience

What a lovely pleasant city centre restaurant, a proper hidden gem. The food was really tasty and fresh, the wine was chilled and the service was friendly and relaxed. The cost was exceptional, £30 for both us, two drinks each and two courses each....winner!!! We even bought some injeera to take home, really nice place.

Really great food. Never had food from this part of the world, and felt a bit stupid asking if we were supposed to use our hands to eat the big pancake-looking thing the dish was served on (injera). Good for vegetarians, and serves alcohol and takes card. Pretty interesting Ethiopian music in the background. Really nice staff and service. We booked for a Friday night 7pm but didn't really need to. Great value so they could definitely charge more!

I was in Sheffield alone for work and wanted to take the opportunity to eat something I don't get at home. It was a Tuesday at about 7pm and very quiet so I didn't feel it was an imposition to talk to the proprietor about his suggestions from the menu and what I like eating (almost everything), I chose the vegetarian platter plus a meat dish of his choosing. I had a mug of tea flavoured with cinnamon and maybe some other spice, and read my book in peace. When the food came it was a huge pancake-style bread with several different vegetarian topping and one large spicy beef one. All of it was delicious, and I was more than satisfied, I was left in peace to keep reading after finishing the food, and didn't feel awkward. I did wonder afterwards if I'd had a two person dish by accident (wouldn't be the first time). If you can cope with eating with your fingers (or asking for cutlery) I'd give it a go. I'll be taking my family there if ever we're in Sheffield.

Couldn’t speak more highly of this unassuming but incredible restaurant. Not only was the food unbelievable, but the staff were so helpful. We have never tried Ethiopian food before and quite honestly didn’t know what we were doing, but the alluring smell from outside was enough to draw us in! When we got sat down, the people working in the restaurant literally couldn’t have done more. The lady who served us told us what was good and also explained to us ways to eat and enjoy their amazing food best. We will 100% be back, and will also be recommending it to all our friends and family. Incredible veggie option too

Really tasty and delicious food, we had the vegetarian platter and the lamb. The injera (savoury bread) is gluten free which means you leave here fully nourished but not too full or bloated. Highly recommend!

We booked this restaurant because it was listed as taking part in the Eat out to help out scheme on the government website, however. when we came to pay, we were charged full price. We left feeling like we'd been taken advantage of.

I love this place. Somebody wrote in previous reviews that this restaurant is a hidden gem. I cannot agree more; well it is. Huge amount of dishes, with meat or vegetarian, very kind staff, and reasonable prices make this place worth to visit. Must visit, to be honest! And do not confuse yourself - the dishes are much bigger than looks at the photos.
