Sheger Restaurant in Sheffield

Eating at Sheger restaurant felt like a trip back home after so long! The flavors, the aroma, and the warmth of the food brought back so many memories. Every bite was comforting, authentic, and absolutely delicious.

We had a lamb dinner.( I can't remember the name) My lamb was nice, but a bit salty. My son's lamb was tough and salty and was very dry. It didn't come with a sauce.It was unpalatab and he could not eat anymore of his lamb. The dinner plate was chipped in several places! Unacceptable!! I wasn't expecting to be served a meal in a public restaurant in plates that are chipped. I spoke to the waitress who served me about it.The basic hygiene of the restaurant needs improving. We waited for nearly an hour for the meal. The rice wasn't properly heated. I would not be going back and would not recommend it .

Delicious, healthy, authentic Ethiopian/Eritrean food at reasonable prices. Welcoming and friendly staff, a taste of Ethiopia in the heart of Sheffield.

First time in an Ethiopian restaurant. Great food and service and reasonably priced. If you want something different in Sheffield give this a try

Random choice for informal sit down cafe style meal. Lovely helpful people, fresh and spicy food, top portion and very reasonable. Injera and stews with salad. Great

My first experience of Ethiopian food. Very nice indeed would certainly recommend. Good value too. Close to Kelham Island and the attractions of that area

We were warmly greeted and asked to pick a table, which was nicely decorated with traditional colours (and a protective covering). We were given plenty of time to look through the menu. As we'd never eaten food of this style, it took time to choose. The lady took our order, but I'm not sure she understood what we'd asked for. In the end, I said I like meat, rice and not too spicy. Although we'd both chosen different meals, we were given the same one. We were very thankful because it was absolutely delicious! The spice was perfect! It was worth the wait, because it was delicious, freshly cooked and streaming hot! The rice portions were huge! We hadn't been asked what we'd like to drink, but we were given jugs of water. I would highly recommend the food here. It is truly delicious! Oh and for £10 each, BARGAIN!

We are visiting the city for the weekend and our local friends had recommended this restaurant. We got a warm welcome, chose our food and enjoyed a drink while we waited. We chose meat and vegetarian options and it was absolutely delicious. It was very reasonably priced, and none of us managed to finish our meals because the portions were so generous. It’s definitely worth a visit, and we will visit again when we are next in Sheffield.

My partner and I had a really lovely eithiopian meal with some Seriously tasty injera. Would recommend !

Got the vegetarian sampler, everything on it was fantastic.

A lucky find chosen at random, and we are glad we visited! Nice chilled atmosphere, and seems to have a loyal group of repeat customers. Kikil stew in particular was very tasty, and we are definitely planning a return visit to try the rest of the menu.

Not sure. I guess it’s pretty authentic. What in had liked right. The beef was kinda tough, but fairly flavoursome. Most dishes are £8-11

We've been to this small place on the Wicker three times now. Not posh or pretentious, more like a cafe than a restaurant, they serve freshly made food with lovely injera. Vegetarian and vegan options are available as well as a selection of drinks. The staff are friendly and helpful.
