Berwick Bar & Restaurant in Havering

Curtain hanging off the rail, restaurant not open even though advertised, continental breakfast stale cornflakes, dirty carpets and black in the shower. I couldn't write it, they even charged me twice.

Good service, we did our wedding celebration here. Highly recommend, friendly staff, good attitude towards work.

We didn't eat, we were here for an event for MIND charity. From arriving to leaving we can't fault the service and friendliness of staff. We had a fabulous day/evening and will definitely be back. Clean toilets, reasonably priced drinks and a good vibe 👏👏

Dirty rooms and restaurant. Noise from live band in a marquee right under room window. Food sub standard.

Pretty venue for the summer it was cold so we left half way through the show. The bar area is standing only with high tables. The food is limited and very poor quality. I'd rather pay more for better quality. Burger or scampi and chips or wedges or vegetarian lasagne straight from Icelands £5 meal deal.

Been here a couple of times. It's a really nice venue. The food is great as is the service and staff. The last time we were here was for my mums wake. The staff were really helpful at such an incredibly difficult time, they took really good care of us and all who came to raise a glass in mums memory. I would thoroughly recommend a visit.

Place dated. Breakfast not cooked enough. Restaurant shut. But good night sleep

This venue is good but the ladies toilets only had two working cubicle and the air was long.

We had lovely time at Christmas disco there - nice ambience, reasonable priced and good food and drinks.Very friendly and attentive service.

Such a shame stayed overnight for a work do. Staff were more than helpful and friendly but rooms were more than a let down, carpets were stained and marked by a iron, curtains were stained and moulded windows hadn't been cleaned from someone sneezing on them and also didn't open. Shower was old and grubby and water was either scalding hot or freezing cold. Also the safe didn't work neither did the electric heater on the wall. Evening meal was nice but the marquee was very cold and most guests had left to go to the bar to keep warm so not all courses were eaten.

Probably the worst venue I have ever gone to, I hear it's being taken over, so hopefully it will get better, but had our Christmas meal here, it was disgusting, the staff were not friendly and you could see they were tense and barking at one another, it was freezing cold when having dinner so I had to wear my coat throught out my meal and so did alot of other people, wear we was sitting near the door it was leaking so you were getting drips on you when walking through, I would not return!

Stayed here a few times and always great but found out last night they are in administration. Problem with locks on the door to get in the room. The biggest problem is with the water and thermostats. Could not use the shower as was scolding hot and would not regulate. I hope that these issues are resolved soon as it's a lovely place to stay and set in a great location. The only reason you did not receive 5*

Nice room, pleasant staff and great food

Visited for Sunday lunch and was very impressed with the food. Service was a little slow, but I cannot fault the food. Will definitely be returning soon.

I have used this hotel and restaurant twice and booked my next stay and would recommend it. A very pleasant hotel. The staff are welcoming and the food is very good. The surroundings are equally pleasant.

Poor poor poor, creaky beds, ripped curtains, mold in the showers, Stained bed covers and really dirty carpet, hair on the clean towels. Cob webs everywhere. And a shower than runs cold. The overall experience was a sham. However there is plenty parking.

I really enjoyed my meal here tonight then environment is luxurious in a quiet part of Essex

Have just returned to this restaurant after a long absence as they were refurbing,looked the menu up online before booking,and was a good a-la -carte menu,sadly when we arrived and were given our menu's to browse,none of the food was listed,when we asked why they said they were under new management ,this is when we should have left, the drinks at the bar were watery,so we switched to shorts,the gin and tonic was fine,my wife's southern comfort was like water,when she complained she was given another shot,which did nothing,but when we got the bill we had been charged for,starters of boneless chicken ,have had better from Asda,mains fish and chips,loads of bones,over priced,again,better and cheaper from chip shop,dessert o.k,but very poor choice,all in all , won't be back,advise you all to do the same,very ,very poor .

The Manor is back to its old self! It's like being back home, most of the old staff are back and the food is fantastic. And it's good to see Giovanni's smiling face. Sunday lunch was so lovely.

Went to this Restaurant today for lunch. There were 15 of us and we had the set menu. The food was excellent and Lindsey and the rest of the staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble, they looked after us extremely well. Will definitely be going again.

Lovely restaurant , delicious food very good value for money. Very nice staff attentive but not to overbearing. Will definitely come back.

Enjoyed an Easter meal, asparagus and poached egg with hollandaise for starter, grill half moon gammon with mustard mash and ratatouille and chocolate ice cream for desert, absolutely lovely food, great staff, special thanks to the whole team for fantastic service, catering to our needs of our table and keeping all our friends and family happy at dinner!

Enjoyed our stay in room 11 it was clean but the bedside lights didn't work TV remote was missing when we arrived and the shower really needed retiling but had a good night bar and restaurant was clean even though the poor lady on her own serving breakfast needed another helper as was rushed of her feet but gave an excellent service

Hotel ok TV remote missing shower bit mouldy but staff were very nice and helpful. There for wedding all ok but Sunday morning breakfast lady was very busy working on her own.

Well decorated hotel and restaurant. Not really busy. Which is good to relax out of city. Staff amazing friendly and professional . Food superb! Tasty and huge portions considering price. We go back there for sure! Thank you.

My formal night on the 13th May was held at this venue and although it took many months to organise, I was very impressed with the table service on the night, the food was amazing (which I had sampled with the head chef previous to the formal night) and the marquee had been decorated to a high standard which was organised by Mark and Pooja (the coordinators for that night). I would highly recommend this venue as all of my guests were very happy with the food and service as well as the ample parking space and great reception from the staff.

This place has deteriorated. Poor service, very long wait for food. Cold vegetables. Shame, this restaurant has been good on previous visits. The table magician was excellent. Update 25/06/2017: a completely different experience this time. Attentive and professional service, great food and a brilliant time had by all. I wasn't looking forward to this meal after the last awful visit, but I was very pleasantly surprised.

Miserable barman gave me a lager shandy with things floating in it. Then I gof a cola which was more like brown water with ice. Overpriced too

Attended the House/Soul event on 25th Feb 2017. Do not attempt to get to The Manor by public transport because the walk involves a narrow country road with no pavement, walking on grass at night is not fun. The music was great, especially the house room but the drinks were very expensive. £8 for a double JD and coke, £5 for single. £4 for a Bud beer. Everyone was having a good time though regardless.

A great place to visit and have dinner and drinks. The party I was at was awesome. 10/10

Having been several times before, I was so disappointed when I returned for lunch yesterday when `i wanted to treat a friend. The food was awful and the service lest a lot to be desired. I shall not be returning.

Overall an OK experience but they seemed to be very short staffed. It took awhile to get drinks and food served.

Nice venue aesthetically, was therefore a wedding so didn't experience much but the bar staff were very slow and kept ignoring guests that had been waiting for a while for others that just turned up at the bar

Horrible experience on wedding night where they messed up our room so we didn't get the bridal suite. We were both understandably upset about this. No response or compensation to date despite emails and phone calls. Do not book for a wedding. Poor customer service and thoroughly unprofessional.

Have been here on numerous occasions since it opened for evening meals, Sunday lunches,Christmas Day every Christmas Eve, New Years Eve and the special evenings that they put on, e.g. Italian night, Fish night. It is my favourite restaurant. The staff are wonderful and very friendly and cannot do enough for you and the food is excellent,

The staff are friendly, the food is excellent, the price is good and the surroundings are lovely.
