Beresford's Restaurant & Pub in South Lakeland

Was staying at the Beechwood Guest House and this restaurant was on the corner nearby. We ventured in without booking and a friendly hostess showed us to a table. Great menu and our food was excellent. Compliments to the chef. Would recommend without a doubt.

This was our second visit to the Beresford and they did not disappoint. A comfortable clean restaurant with excellent service. Our meal was very tasty freshly cooked and not over priced which is a bonus in Bowness.

Had the most exquisite seafood platter. As a Kiwi leaving in the UK, this was out of this world!!! Everyone should come here. It's on the way from Windermere to Nowness on the left-hand side before the drop down. Please don't miss it out

Without doubt the best place to eat in Windermere. Food is top quality and great service from all the staff. Fantastic value for money especially the meal deals. We’ll worth making the trip to this lovely place.

Bought the the movie deal so went to the cinema then to restaurant for meal. I really wasn’t expecting the quality of the meal we had absolutely delicious the soup was best we’ve had and the garlic mushrooms with chorizo was so tasty!! We’ve been coming to Bowness for years and this is our first but definitely not our last visit to Beresfords! Food nearer the lake is overpriced and not great in our opinion . This was reasonably priced and really good! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this restaurant.

Had our staff Xmas do here for the 3rd time. We absolute love the place. Warm welcome and staff were great. We went downstairs to the bar for drinks before dinner. The bar was warm and welcoming with Xmas music on. We went upstairs to the restaurant where the staff Michelle and Marion greeted us and showed us to our table . The food was excellent from the starters to the dessert . We had already pre ordered our meals from prawncocktail to roast turkey. Even had extra Brussel sprouts my favourite.We had a choice of wine on the table . Couldn’t fault the night at all. After our meal we went back down to the bar to carry on partying and drinking.Thank you all for making our Xmas party another one to remember

Warm and welcoming atmosphere. Plenty of choice and gluten free options. Food was delicious. Would recommend this restaurant. Also great location.

We have visited the Beresford a number of times during our visits to the lake district and I can’t recommend the place enough. The food is absolutely fabulous, very well cooked and presented. We will be back during our next visit to Bowness.

What a great find, popped into this place because they had an early bird menu sign outside which looked like good value. The inside is charming. We were given a warm welcome and our drink order was taken immediately, food was then ordered from a good varied menu, I had the vegetarian lasagne and hubby had the medium chicken curry, food came quickly and was excellent. We followed that with two huge portions of arguably the best sticky toffee pudding we have ever had. Would definitely recommend it and will be eating there on our next visit for sure.

A bit of a hidden gem, a little unused due to the location, not at the lake or village side of Windermere, but is on the main road. Lovely meal.

Great sunday lunch.booked in advance just in case..and just happened to be right near where we staying!!..had a coach party in but was straight over to the table drinks served straight away and order taken quickly. Roast beef sunday dinner was served hot with veg and cheeky cheescake was shared with my other half...place was Clean and staff were great.2 Sunday dinners 1 dessert 2pints and a glass of red wine under 50quid and lake windermere in walking distance defo pop in and try and next time we are up i know where my Sunday lunch will be!.

The food was really nice. Lots of gluten free options. I had the curry and it was my favourite curry ever. The rice really complemented it. The food was also well priced.

We visited Beresfords for a celebratory meal , they did not disappoint. We were welcomed and sat at our table promptly and offered a drink. There was a good choice of menu and everything was cooked fresh and to a high standard, the service was excellent Graham and his team were friendly and welcoming. Will definitely visit again while we are here.

The best food we’ve had all week in The lakes and such good value. Took advantage of the early bird deal , which is fantastic value for money. All three courses I had were beautifully cooked and really well presented. Our waitress was really friendly and helpful despite being so busy (which was a good sign of how popular it is). Highly recommended

Stopped here for Sunday lunch. Various meals on the menu. Roast beef was good and so were the vegetarian options, I had the vegetable lasagne. Lemon cheesecake was superb 10/10. Service friendly and brisk. Great value for money. Will return. (Dogs are allowed in certain areas).

Excellent food!! Best halloumi fries ever and the Parmesan truffle fries, omg! Great friendly service Would 100% recommend to go for food.

Ate dinner here as a couple having reserved a table online. Restaurant/pub is located between Windermere and Bowness and is walkable from both. Menu was comprehensive with typical pub fair. Service was prompt, friendly and efficient with lovely staff. Food quality and presentation was very good and arrived piping hot. Would definitely recommend Beresford's for a hearty meal in Lakeland.

Went here for dinner following a disappointing meal at another pub the previous night. What a contrast, service was slick, efficient and friendly. My husband said the garlic mushrooms were the best he had ever had and the pate I had was delicious, the onion marmalade was superb. Burgers were lovely and tasty too. Great value as it was the early bird menu, i wish we could have eaten there again, but we didn't have any more nights of our stay left.

We were stuck for choice for where to eat on our trip but we are so happy we landed at Beresford’s! The welcome we received was amazing, such a friendly guy (assuming he’s the owner!) everyone was so patient and accommodating We ordered from the early menu 2 for £17.95 and we weren’t expecting much but the creamy mushroom starter with chorizo was amazing! Then the burger was absolutely delicious, like a proper steak burger not a cheap thin burger I got an extra portion of blue cheese sauce to dip my burger in (I love cheese 🤣) and it was so tasty Then my husband got a sticky toffee pudding, it was gorgeous Thanks guys!

Very very good. Great steak, garlic mushrooms starter a standout, lovely staff. Happy to recommend to anyone. Good wine list. House red excellent

Chose this place as it was slap bang between Bowness and our hotel. First impression was lack of ventilation and smell of cooking oil, which is so off putting. However, the waitress was very friendly and accommodating.Toilets were clean, but in the corridor the staff coats were hung up. I may be being picky, but I just think that the dining area should be clutter free and small details make a big difference.We ordered a chicken curry and a burger. Meals were tasty, but a side of naan with the curry would have made it more worth the money.The music playing in the restaurant was right up our street. An 80's playlist, so no complaints there.Afterwards we took advantage of 15% first round of drinks in the bar downstairs having eaten in the restaurant. It was a bit chavvy, but for a drink at the end of the night was fine. We would probably come back here at the end of a night, but there are better restaurants in Bowness. On the whole average.

I checked out the reviews on TripAdvisor and decided to take my wife there. We were not disappointed and can confirm that the many favourable reviews are correct. Excellent food and service at sensible prices all served by friendly and helpful staff.

We had a lovely time here on New Years Eve 2021. The food was excellent...plentiful, tasty and piping hot! Staff were friendly and the atmosphere was festive, warm and welcoming.

Stopped off here today after getting soaked in a classic Cumbrian downpour and needed a roast to perk up the spirits. Although the restaurant was quiet, the staff were lovely and attentive. The chef even came out to see if we were enjoying our meals. The roast was cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. Portion sizes were also spot on. We were stuffed at the end of our meal but all plates were empty so there was nothing wasted. A lovely environment and excellent value! Will definitely visit again.

Booked prior to arrival in Bowness as it was a bank holiday and expected to be busy ( but it wasn’t) . Arrived around 6pm to find the place empty apart from us but okay if a little quiet ( music on low ) . We were looked after pretty well and drinks came promptly. The menu was a little bit limited for us but I chose a chicken dinner and other half , fish and chips . Served on hot plates and very tasty too . We were a little short on time , so didn’t have a sweet . The only niggle for me is that the vegetables were extra on a chicken dinner , rather odd as the meal would have been just chicken , gravy and 2 roast potatoes, why not include them in an adjusted price ? . Booked our new years eve meal at this restaurant. It was a last minute decision but was really pleased with the price of the meal and the menu so decided to order a bottle of champagne to say goodbye to a really crazy and bad 2021 and hopefully celebrate a great 2022. The most expensive bottle on the drinks list was Bollinger at £56.95. Not bad for restaurant prices. So asked the waitress who we later found out was the owners wife if she had any pink champagne. Yes she said and promptly bought us a bottle. Little did we know until we had the bill that this particular bottle of pink champagne was £110. Absolutely appalled and outraged that we weren't made aware before she popped the cork. Granted pink champagne is slightly more expensive than white but thought £60/£65 at the most. I hope you are pleased with yourself owners wife as we are still reeling from the shock of our bill and will nor get over it in a hurray.

Ate there on a stormy Friday night. The food was fabulous. One of the party had a dairy allergy and the chef actually came out to discuss how he could change the sauce for the salmon to something more suitable and it was.

We visited here Friday night was chucking it down and we were staying nearby so thought we’d pop in for a drink! Went downstairs nice bar area and greeted by a lovely friendly lady! They have BT Sport which appealed to my other half and even more so when she pointed out the Leeds United Shield on the bar revealing the owner is a lifelong fan! Pretty quiet place as it’s right at the top of the hill coming up from Bowness so as the weather was rubbish we decided to eat, didn’t go to the restaurant part as we were informed we could stay in the bar area which we did. Nachos to start very nice! Then burger and lasagna with chips. Food was nice but would have been amazing with homemade chips. I know it might sound picky but I’ve feel proper chips served with quality food makes all the difference please ditch the frozen ones! Having said that great value for money, few rounds of drinks and food came to £45. Would return as I understand the Sunday lunch is amazing and the restaurant certainly looked packed when we past during the lunch service! #ALAW

We were fortunate to have an amazing Sunday lunchtime celebration at Beresford’s. Graham was extremely helpful organising a suitable menu for our extended family group of 15. All the food was served piping hot and was so tasty, could highly recommend the lamb and beef. All in all the welcome, service and most importantly food were excellent.

I really wanted to like it but the ambiance was barely there and the food was basic. If one of the specials was Fish and Chips then it's not for someone who enjoys their food and knows that good food comes to those who love to cook or love to eat otherwise it was disappointing.

We went to this place last night, as it is literally across the road from the cottage we have rented for the week.Unfortunately the bar was closed when we arrived - my fiance, brother and I fancied a drink before my parents walked over - but the owners let us sit at out table early and we ordered drinks.The food was the nicest I have had in donkeys and I can't recommend this place enough.We were made to feel very welcome had a lovely time and the food was magnificent.Superb.

On a busy Sunday Bowness was very busy, most restaurant's appeared full/crowded?Had spotted Beresfords on the drive and walked up to it, never walked that far up the hill previouslyWhilst lacking kerb appeal we were very please with the Sunday Roast selection, quality and valueGenerous portions meant we had no room for desert, but other peoples looked delicious, again generous portionsAlthough busy the service was first class.

We spent 5 nights in Bowness and ate here for 2 of them the food was so good. Very fresh and very tasty. A good selection of meals, not a massive selection but also catered for vegetarian and vegan.

Had a lovely Sunday lunch finished off with a delicious pudding. Later in the week we went for an evening meal. Very nice. Well worth visiting.

Food and service amazing just had a two course Sunday lunch £13. What a bargain would of paid double it was delicious. We are here for a week we will definitely be back

Had a four night stay in Bowness-on-Windermere and had evening meals at Beresford 3 of the nights. The food was excellent and the staff really friendly.

My husband and myself have just had Sunday lunch. We chose the 2 courses for £12. We both had roast beef which was sotender as well as Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes and vegetables. For dessert my husband had the cheesecake, which he loved. I had the sticky toffee pudding and custard and yes it still is the best in the lakes. Amazing value for money. We always have a meal at this restaurant when we visit and will definitely be back. I would highly recommend it.

Came for a drink to end the evening. Wasn’t even met with a smile or a greeting. Once we ordered our drinks we were told we could only sit outside as the staff had to set up for breakfast. Only one heater worked and we weren’t given the chance of inside heating. After barely saying a word to us she palmed us off outside and then was speaking to other customers who were allowed to sit inside the whole time we were there. Never once did she speak to us or offer us a seat in the warm. Wouldn’t go again and I think the staff need a few lessons in customer service skills and how to have a smile on your face in hospitality. The waitress wormhole greeted us couldn’t say hello or greet us as if she wanted our custom, didn’t feel welcome at all when all we wanted was a drink. To make things even worse a group who came in after us were allowed to sit inside, unbelievable.

Sunday lunch was absolutely wonderful, delicious roast beef and chicken, so melt in the mouth. Great value for 1 2 or 3 courses. Staff friendly and attentive. Would highly recommend

To start with, iam totally shocked with the review from here (5 woman) I was in the restaurant that night with a friend. Not once did the waitress,s have a attitude problem, they were both smiling and polite, myself and my friend had a great meal. We will be back but hope the women that were complaing don’t .we overheard the conversation (couldn’t miss it they were table next to us) one of the ladies said her beef burger was undercooked, that started them all off. The poor waitress asked what was wrong and it went from there. Really felt sorry for her as she said she would go and get the chef. Why finish your entire meal then complain after and leave a tip!

We booked here Saturday for our evening meal, 5 of us in total, all looking forward to enjoying a lovely meal together. When deciding what to eat one of us asked a question regarding the chips, saying she'd have them if the were chunky chips, then another one said oh ill have them too please to which she replied you'll get what you're given!!! Very arrogant and rude!! We ordered burgers, which looked nice on the plate but were the worst burgers we have ever tasted, thick and dense with no flavour to them, almost rubbery in the texture, one did not eat any and the other 2 barely touched them. When we said we're done can we have the bill she noticed the plates and asked what was wrong, explained that the burgers were not at all nice, she replied oh really i'll let the chef know, Brought the bill took the money and totally ignored us, no we're sorry or apologies offered, made us feel really uncomfortable. This place needs new staff who know how to be friendly to paying customers. Never been in a place that's made us so uncomfortable. and will never go back. The 2 women manning the place were very strange indeed, awful attitudes.

Had a weekend in the lakes and chose here for dinner as a few options for me being gluten intolerant.Booked in early and the first in the restaurant bit soon began to fill up. The ladies on duty were excellent. Food wise the pics tell their own story but compliments to the chef. We shared nachos to start then I hade the sweet potato curry with half and half and hubby the steak. Both were sooo good. Highly recommend and would go again next time in Bowness.

There was a very friendly man outside selling ice creams so I presumed that the staff inside would follow suit...this was not the case. My partner and little girl sat outside ad I needed the toilet so it made sense for me to order the drinks. I asked the "lady" behind the bar if she sold bitter, her response "bottle" I waited for more information...non came, I asked her what it was she said "blue bird" that was the end of that conversation...I then asked if she sold fruit cider, no response so I just looked myself. I then said "I'll ask my partner if he wants that or something else" and she just yer again ignored me. I was about to make my way to the toilet and she said "and where do you think you're going?" I politely stated I was nipping to the toilet and then I would check what my partner wanted to drink and she replied "that's not how we do things her, you buy your drink and then you may go to the toilet". Her attitude was vile and clearly don't want tourists in. The bar was absolutely empty so I thought they might have been greatful for some customers but maybe she just couldn't be bothered to serve anyone and her manner was to put customers off. Well done, it worked!!!

I was very upset after walking into this pub in the evening on my walk home, hoping to very quickly use the toilet, that I was denied access by the barman! I would have happily bought a drink if that was the problem, but to have just been told a straight “no” whilst grinning at me is just rude in my opinion! If you have a policy whereby non-paying customers can’t use your facilities, this should be stated clearly on the door or window outside - I wouldn’t have come in otherwise. Luckily the pub down the road let me in straight away and said it wasn’t a problem! They will definitely be receiving my custom in future! It doesn’t cost to be kind.

Ate here on both nights stay in the Lakes, all of the ladies looked after us well, one lady in particular who was scared of wasps bless her.

We arrived to an empty restaurant and the elder waitress took us to our table. She didn’t seem pleased to see us and didn’t have much character throughout the meal. Even as the restaurant started to fill out, I felt the restaurant lacked atmosphere. It was echoey. The reason for my review however was the food, we had starters: pate, cream mushrooms and mushrooms with chorizo for starter in a cream sauce and they were all delicious. The main course though were really poor for all of us. I had a lasagne and it was the worst lasagne Ive ever had. Basically just pasta, tomato sauce and a ton of dry Parmesan on top. I will always try to put a positive on anything but it truly was awful. My mum had a fillet steak which was over cooked and tasteless and my sister had a burger. The burger meal was huge and on the face of it, looked amazing but again, lacked flavour. We all left our meals less than half eaten. Such a shame. To top it off, they tried charging us for two barcardis that we didn’t order. The only reason I haven’t given a score of 1 is because the starters were good.

I visited 21/07/21 - I had the mussels dish and it was the best I have ever had. The service was excellent and really friendly welcoming staff. How many times do you have a meal in a restaurant where the chef comes out and asks “how was your meal?”

My partner and I visited the Beresford as we had seen the previous evening that they had mussels on the menu - and wow we were not disappointed! The best mussels we have had in a very long time. My partner then had the salmon, prawn and mussel curry, whilst I had the chicken breast with mushroom sauce, roast potatoes and a side salad. The food is amazing and freshly cooked on ordering. The staff were very welcoming and after having had a walk round Bowness following dinner, ended up back at the Beresford for a G&T! Nothing was too much trouble. If you want good food/drink then Beresfords is the only choice you need!

We had booked the Beresford under recommendation from the owners of Elim House (adults only) in good time for the football final. My husband spoke to a very friendly man who advised us that we could have an early booking as food would stop well in time for the match. On paying a £30.00 deposit. We were assured that we would have a table right in front of the television. My husband was very pleased with our table, perfect football viewing... The restaurant was full with such a lovely vibe, our meal was so delicious,Very well presented all 3 courses. Couldn't fault it. The staff worked so hard that night, very respectful of not getting in the way, absolutely brilliant job ladies, and to all kitchen staff. Thank you. Good value for money. We had a great night and the Beresford did themselves proud as did our boys.

Me and my partner came for a drink. When we got there there were a couple that were just leaving and the waitress was very polite and pleasant to them so we knew we had found a lovely place. However, when we approached the desk to ask for a table she was so rude! As though it was a real inconvenience that we asked for a table. Her replies were short and snappy and she made us feel very unwelcome. I asked for a cup of tea and she snapped “no the machine is off”. Wish we would have found somewhere else. Will not be going back!

Popped into the Beresford to watch a euro match and Paul the barman ( Wolves Fan) was very friendly and a good laugh, served us with a smile and a joke, the next night we had a meal in the restaurant, before the England Ukraine match , lovely food and fantastic service especially from Sharon ( turns out she is Paul’s wife) , then the next night we had Fillet steak, cooked to perfection and very tasty and was served by Sharon again who was an excellent waitress , would highly recommend this establishment.

Ate in Beresford's during England v Ukraine and following evening with friends. Food was fantastic both nights and service excellent considering how busy the night of the match was. Every time I visit the Lake District on holiday I make a point of returning to the restaurant due to the standard of food and the friendliness of the owners and staff.

Sports bar and restaurant which catered well for football. Yes it was a fantastic night - England beat Germany 2-0 in a knock out game for the first time since 1966 -so a memorable event. Staff really helpful -initially a bit over the top with the Covid “rules” and their signs about no excessive shouting - but I get that. Needed to protect their licence from the Covid zealots. Once got past that they were great - yes they wouldn’t fit a friend on the table for a drink for an hour but again forgive this obsession with the rules as they need to work with the nonsense day in day out. Had really good fillet steak and peppercorn sauce - good wine- and basically fantastic evening. Come on England. PS. No signs were going to keep the diners quiet. I think we all broke the rules!

My son and I ate her two out of the three nights we stayed in Bowness. The team were really friendly and we felt like locals with the service. The food was really nice, traditional pub food done very well. My son is Celiac and we had some problems finding gluten free food. The menu here had great options my son had a burger one night and curry the next both delicious. I had lasagna which was very nice. We were well taken care of really recommend.

I have just tried to book two tables of 5 for two separate groups, whoever I spoke to was simply the rudest person ever… no was the answer because “you’re together” OK that’s fine I totally understand, and actually 5 of the group will arrive much earlier than the others so can I book for 5 of us and the other 5 will book elsewhere to suit their arrival time, I explained we’re visiting for the Macmillan Mighty Hike to which ‘Mr Rude’ took great offence and said NO you can not book at all.He didn’t even ask what time I was thinking of, he explained he was taking bookings for football from 6:30…. Our group of 5 would happily have booked, eaten and vacated well before 6:30 to leave the table free for a ‘football booking’ so this attitude is either because we’re not local OR he has a issue with MacMillan!!!We completely understand the rule of 6 and we’re more than happy to split into completely different restaurants at completely different times ‘Mr Rude’ obviously took great offence to us.Disgusting attitude from an establishment that you’d think given recent events would welcome the trade.

Wonderful meal in Windermere. The service was impeccable, food delicious & best of all we got a last minute booking thanks to the kind owners. The mussels and seafood curry were extremely tasty and portion sizes very generous. Can’t wait to come again very soon :)

Made sure we had a table to sit at two nights in a row when other restaurants were turning people away without bookings. Staff were all really friendly. The chef spoke to us a couple of times about the food and it was clear to see he had a genuine interest in cooking.Food was really nice both nights we ate there and seemed reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Was looking for somewhere to watch the Champions league final with a 4 year old and 4 adults. Found Beresford’s and emailed to request a table. Graham quickly responded and couldn’t be more helpful in accommodating us.From the minute we arrived we were well looked after. Given how busy it was the staff were remarkably organised and attentive.The food was great. Everyone of us enjoyed our meals. Special mentions for the mushrooms with chorizo, the Beresford’s salad and our 4 year old that couldn’t get enough of my delicious fish curry.Thanks to all the team, made a family night to remember.We will be back :).

Great evening at The Beresfords on 25 of May. Food was really good with great service. Always asking if everything was okay including Chef. Sous Chef was really good. Can't wait to go back again.

Can’t fault this place. The food was excellent, there’s a good choice of wines and other drinks, the atmosphere was pleasant, the service was very efficient and the food arrived promptly. Simply, really good.

Simply wonderful food and wine. We enjoyed a two course meal sitting out in the glorious evening sunshine. It was busy and the atmosphere was great, we overlooked the park where someone was practicing tight rope walking so we were kept entertained!We did not have long to wait for our food and felt very well looked after by the attentive staff. Top class home cooked food at a fair price, thank you so much

This was a great surprise. Really friendly host, and the food was excellent. I had fish curry - asked for it hot and it certainly was! Very well cooked fish. My wife had the haddock and chips, which was lovely. Very light batter. We will be returning when we can eat inside!

The whole thing was cold by the time I got home which is only 2 miles away . The gravy was more or less no existent therefore very dry . Meat was fatty and the yorkie could put a window out . Very disappointed

Amazing curry that would put most Indian restaurants to shame, sticky toffee pudding was also one of the best we'd tasted (and it's my favourite desert). The gravy with the meat pie was tastier than the actual pie though and the cheesecake was average. No heaters outside but they were making best efforts to remain open without a beer garden (they are even offering take aways). Service was ok, although there was a long wait for the main meal. Hence the 4 and a half stars if the app would let you...

We called in on the off chance while walking down to Bowness on Wed evening and we are so pleased we did! The food was exceptional, we were so impressed. The staff were very attentive, the chef came out to speak to us, he was very enthusiastic about his food which really showed in how it tasted and was presented. The waitress was very pleasant and the atmosphere very cosy.Thank you very much for such a lovely dining experience that we were not expecting that night! Excellent *****

Nice restaurant and well decorated.Needs more staff on a Saturday night.To long to wait and to much work for the waitress.A person from the kitchen bobbed in and out at times to serve the meals and was much needed.

Comí en este restaurante esta noche. Elija del menú de madrugadores. Elegimos el filete de pollo en salsa de champiñones y el bife. Ambos eran absolutamente deliciosos y muy bien presentados. Eligió la tarta de queso y la tarta Bakewell de postre y, de nuevo, ambas estaban deliciosas. Comida deliciosa a un precio decente. El distanciamiento social se mantuvo bien en todo momento. Sin duda volveremos a visitar este restaurante y lo recomiendo encarecidamente si visita la zona.

Managed to get a table in this popular restaurant in the middle of the Covid Crisis. Good honest food at a good honest price with excellent Covid observance - perhaps a bit even over the top!

Tuvimos una comida agradable mientras estábamos de vacaciones en Bowness, una buena situación para las personas que se hospedan en Bowness o Windermere. Ambos tomamos sopa para comenzar servida con un delicioso pan caliente. seguido de pollo en salsa de champiñones y pollo al curry, ambos agradables El personal es muy eficiente y amable y en todas partes se sintió muy seguro para los covid en la próxima visita a Bowness

Cené aquí anoche. Llegamos a las 7 pm y entre las 5. 30 y 7. 15 ofrecen un menú para madrugadores que es de dos platos para 17. 95 o tres por 18. 95, o tienes la opción del menú a la carta. Elegimos uno de los madrugadores ya que había una gran variedad. Los entrantes para nosotros eran paté de hígado de pollo y champiñones con chorizo, los platos principales eran pollo y salmón y los postres eran helado y pudín de caramelo pegajoso. Todas las comidas estaban muy bien presentadas y sabían muy bien. Este restaurante fue un gran descubrimiento y, sin duda, volveremos la próxima vez que estemos en la zona. El ambiente era agradable y relajado y el personal amable y acogedor.

We visited here whilst visiting the lakes for a weekend away. So glad we found this place. Staff so friendly especially Graham and Marion. Would definitely return on our next visit. Outstanding customer service. Good selection of drinks, reasonable prices.

Great steak and friendly service. Would certainly return. Good, safe covid measures in place. In a spot just out of the centre of Bowness-on-Windermere on the road up to Windermere. Easy to walk to.

nice restaurant pleasant staff and good food would recommend,just a short walk from the fir trees guest house where we stayed on Lake road.

Had a fantastic meal here for my partners birthday, covid procedures all followed and a very good service.

We did the early meal deal at Beresford’s and the food was really good. It was a damp evening and we are in Covid and so there was just a little lacking in atmosphere and warmth. The cooks certainly know their business and the food was excellent but the interior lacks a little charm in the decor.

My other half ordered a veggie burger which was absolutely delicious. The Bun was soft and the whole thing melts in your mouth. However, I ordered the sea bass and for 14 pounds it was just a thin fillet with 3 potatoes. It’s not just the price The taste wasn’t great either.

Friendly staff and amazing night out! My family and I were down from Scotland and went into Beresfords, we weren’t disappointed with service at all! We had such a great night ☺️ thank you!

Excellent service, brilliant food and the staff were really kind to my wife who was suffering from a migraine. I had the hot chicken curry and was not disappointed. The heat was bang on and the rice was perfectly cooked. I finished off with a sticky toffee pudding with custard which was a meal in itself. Outstanding. Overall we were happy with everything which finished off our trip to Windermere perfectly. Great work team Beresfords.

I had the curry, and asked for it mild, and it was absolutely amazing. The starter and pudding was equally amazing. We took advantage of the Eat Out To Help Out Scheme, and for the 3 course meal for 2 adults was extremely reasonable. Even without the scheme it is very well priced. The drinks are a tad on the expensive side, so be warned, but the service was very quick once ordered.

Very good food and wine, service was good considering the current situation with covid, zero complaints, fantastic starters, perfectly cooked medium steaks .... would 100% recommend

We are so glad we managed to get a table booked at Beresford's for Sunday dinner on 2nd Aug 2020.My wife and I, took our son for lunch and we enjoyed superb food, including lovely starters. My son didn't fancy a Sunday dinner so he tried the Fish Curry and he said it was the "best curry" he's ever had.After our lunch we retired outside of the restaurant and enjoyed the gorgeous sunny day with a bottle of wine.The owner and staff are lovely people and have a great manner with their customers.Downstairs there is a really nice bar where you can enjoy sport on the tv and enjoy a cocktail or beer.10/10 experience and we guarantee we will definitely return here, the next time we're in Windermere or Bowness.

Found this bar/restaraunt in Bowness at the top of the town by the car parks, very impressed by the stringent safety measures concerning covid distancing guidelines, hand sanitising, 2 metre separations, etc...The owner Graham is a friendly and cheerful guy, willing to chat and nothing seems too much trouble for him in these difficult times for business owners, I highly recommend Beresfords, not too big and not too small, a very nice place.

Absolutely AMAZING. Food outstanding. Don’t be put off that it’s a little off the ‘beaten track’ a really hidden treasure of Bowness !!

I think the photos are misleading, making you think it is a fancy restaurant, when it felt more like an upmarket Little Chef. The waitress was miserable and the head waitress was rude to the staff well within earshot of the diners. The dining area was not well ventilated and the smell from the kitchen was encroaching into the dining room not in a good way. Food was ok, but not as tasty as the pictures look.

Lovely food and service. Tables well spread out due to covid restrictions. Dined from the early diner and al a carte. Food was lovely, freshly cooked, portions plentiful. Didn’t have a dessert as was satisfied from mains and starters. £60 for a meal for 2 with drinks is reasonable.

Called in here after being turned away from all other restaurants in Windermere due to not having pre-booked (new Covid life), fully expecting to also be turned away but were told if we could just wait a few minutes a table was coming empty and they would get it cleaned for us. Wow, so glad we waited, amazing food, lovely staff and a nice ambience. Would definitely visit here again and can highly recommend it.

Unfortunately the meal we wanted had sold out. So I went for the chicken which was really nice & my wife had the salmon. £3 for 2 potatoes is a bit steep but the food was good. I would have no hesitation in eating here again.

We were booked in at very short notice amd didnt know what to expect. The staff were fantastic, food was cooked ot perfection. The bar downstairs is very much worth a visit too.

Visited pub downstairs.graham was a terrific host jokingly asked for roast potatoes with our pint he turned up with a plate full of roasties and gravy ..well done not many restaurants or pubs do that good afternoon had by all

We took advantage of the early dine offer of three courses for a very good price (£15). The flavours were amazing, the ingredients were fresh and great quality, everything was rich and decadent. Definitely go hungry. The place was empty (we visited during low season) and it was nice that we chose a seat by the window. There is a noisy bar below but once you are in the restaurant area you cannot hear the noise from below and the atmosphere in the restaurant was nice and relaxed. We weren’t expecting much and this place is not bougie which is why it blew our expectations. Good food, good portions, good prices, just what we like. I had the hummus and olives to start which came with fresh warm lovely bread butter. The hummus was creamy and lovely, the olives were marinated in a lovely mix of garlic and red pepper bits. For the main, I had the Lamb Henry (slight extra charge but worth it) succulent and falling off the bone, giant slab of meat on a mound of mash with a delicious rich sauce full of aroma. The desert for me was the highlight. I had the sticky toffee pudding with custard and I couldn’t contain the yummy noises. My partner had the baked mushroom starter and she loved it. Rich, creamy and flavourful with juicy bits of chorizo. She then had the fish of the day which was lovely salmon and came with soft baby potatoes and broccoli, carrot and white cabbage. All amazing. For desert she had the white chocolate cheesecake which was quite light and almost mouse like. We shared each others food as the portions were massive and we were so excited to taste everything. All in all a wonderful evening and we cannot believe more people don’t know about this place. Truly a hidden gem and the chef is a magician! Thank you for a wonderful evening and the recommendation to visit Grasmere and Keswick which we did the following day. We would love to come back here in the future.

Very friendly staff couldn’t do enough for us fantastic food and value 25 pounds for four course meal that was best food I’ve had for a long time 10 out of 10
