Quiet night in the pub but those there were friendly locals. Good atmosphere arrived 8pm food wasn't available but recommend as good standard. Summertime has large garden rear and front. Nice place when weather warmer

Lovely atmosphere to watch TV and enjoy with your friends

We had a small family birthday party today with a buffet. They reserved the lounge area for us which was perfect. The buffet was lovely, the sandwiches were particularly delicious. The staff were friendly and super helpful. The atmosphere was so relaxed and we never felt rushed. We ended up staying there for 7 hours! Would highly recommended for any occasion. Thanks Jim, Jan, Curtis and staff.

Had a lovely meal today with family. Freshly cooked roasts and the veggie tart was excellent. Plenty of fresh vegetables and our server couldn't have done more for us. Great value for money, comfortably accommodating large parties, with a lively friendly bar staff and customers. I'd happily eat there again.

We always have our meetings here, they are so friendly and accomdating, serve lovely food.

Lovely pub,. Very big,. Went to a party there,. Only thing I would say is the chairs are so uncomfortable,. All the stuffing has gone from middle of seat and was very hard and uncomfortable, definitely need new chairs, , staff were friendly n pleasant, .

Great local pub, with friendly staff and lots of space

Jim did us proud on Monday providing a beautiful range of food and excellent facilities for our Mum’s wake. He catered for a range of dietary needs and provided a brilliant spread for everyone which was amazing value for money. He told us not to worry about a thing and he was right! We would definitely recommend the Berechurch Arms. Thank you so much Jim and staff.

Nice quiet drinks lunchtime not to busy

We went for Sunday dinner yesterday and it was lovely, service was good, warm and friendly staff. The food was nice, and well priced as well. And a good atmosphere. A nice pub to come and relax, a good outdoor park for the little ones as well.

We popped for lunch on a Saturday and the pub is huge. There is a restaurant section, pool table, large tvs everything. The menu was what you would expect for a pub with the usual items, which was fine. However when we came to order they had run out of a few things so we had to order our second choices. The food was fine and it came quickly, the service was really good! I feel that they also had a lot of new staff as it took a while to get a coffee and it wasn't great. If I could just review the service it would be 5 stars but lack of menu items and new staff had an impact. If you are thinking of going please give it a go as overall it wasn't bad at all and the prices are very reasonable.

Absolutely disgusting have been told from close friends how rude and abrupt the customer service is by the manager Jane deflating the bouncy castle whilst there child was on it find that unacceptable as I have been there before and found her rude so will not be going ever again

We travelled from Manchester to go and visit my dads grave for fathers day and stopped off for something to eat before heading back. Food was delicious, excellent value for money and best of all served with a smile . Keep up the good work 👏

A huge thank you to all staff for your amazing hospitality today!! We hired a section of the lovely garden which includes children toys and play area and was able to arrange as we wanted for our special occasion!! The day was absolutely perfect.. great service, good food and lovely location!! Highly recommend!!

Very good value for money, had the sunday roast (4 meat) came piled high with sharer veg on the side, needless to say we opted out for dessert. First time here as we were passing through.

Oh my days .. this has just got to be the best home cooked Sunday lunch in Colchester .. huge plate of mixed meat stuffing Yorkshires mash roast parsnips then separate broccoli green beans carrots … then separate cauliflower cheese…gravy boat sauces …. Your have to excuse pictures we had steamed in and eaten most of it .. but if you want a dinner with no frozen rubbish and cooked to perfection you need to come here … Jim amazing dinner today as always Coleen and family xxx

Such a lovely place to go the food is amazing and such good quality and value for money !! They have a large garden and play are for children including a bouncy castle in the summer large car park on site pool table in separate area and a lovely cosy seating area with a fire place plus the restaurant amazing place for families

We held a wake here for our beloved Mum and we couldn’t be more pleased with the efforts that Jim and his team put into it! Right from our first visit to see what was on offer, we felt like we were in safe hands. The buffet was fantastic with plenty of food for everyone and great value for money! We paid for 60 people, around 80 came, people took food home in the boxes provided and there was still food over. The venue is spacious, clean and comfy! To conclude, we were able to remember Mum with a fantastic wake that she would have enjoyed, had she still been with us.

Microwave food and extortionate rates with flat beer in dirty glasses, the staff didn't know how to make Basic cocktails

Plenty of food provided and everything went smoothly, even in the setting up of the bar tab. Doggy bags were supplied without any prompting, which was a nice touch. Ideal venue for a large gathering.

Food excellent staff amazing would recommend to anyone, large car park lovely atmosphere you catered for 70 but 120 turn up and we still took home doggy bags

One star is too much microwave food at it’s worst kids pizza meal charge 7:95 for a microwave kids pizza inedible burger sent back no refund offered won’t be eating here again

Thank you from myself and all of my friends. After the long period of not being able to go anywhere during lockdown I arranged for a group of friends (21) to have a night out at this fantastic pub. The food was above and beyond excellent and the service was first rate!! Thank you to the staff who served us and the chef for excellent food......Highly recommended Sue Young

I had a family funeral at Colchester and the wake was held at Berechurch Arms . Having never visited before I was very impressed. Very attentive and accommodating staff and the buffet was five star .

Roomy locals pub with an extensive, predictable, beer selection. They hosted our Grandson's post-christening gathering - and I have to say that the quality and selection of food provided for the spread was outstanding. Thank you very much.

Good ole pub. Pints are reasonable too. I paid £3.30 for a shandy, the place the week before was £4.50 for the same. So go here for decent, affordable pints.

What an amazing place I just took my football team for a Sunday dinner after there match at very short notice we were accommodated There was 40 of us and we were all served the most amazing food Staff were very friendly and the atmosphere in the pub was awesome 💯 we will be holding all our future team meals and parties here Best roast dinner in Colchester by far not to mention ridiculously cheap 👍👍👍👍👍

Prompt service. We sat outside on a bench in an area which had been converted from the car park. Wooden planters had been constructed and filled with plants, in order to make the place more attractive. As an ale drinker it was not really a pub for me, but I can see that the satellite sport fan would be really at home.

Visited with my partner and two children for lunch, the play area is nice, the two waiting staff are lovely...however, the owner is rude. I am exempt from Wearing a face covering, and was given a folder and asked to write in it my details and reason for exemption..bizarre. She is overboard behaves like a suspicious policewoman and her staff seem scared of her. I feel like perhaps she needs a few goes down the slide in the play area to lighten her up. Absolutely ruins the vibe of the place

I have used this pub many times for lunch meals and was lovely. but today i ordered a breakfast i asked for certain items to be taken off when it did come which was a while certain items that should of been on or ordered was wrong i asked for bread and butter and got toast. my mushrooms were missed of and the time it came my tea was cold so for 7.40 i got 2 bacon 1 small sausage and i mean small and 1 egg .i didn't want to go into pub to complain and they never came out to see if everything ok and the receipt i asked for .for a work situation wasn't even the right receipt and had to ask twice for it i should of checked but it was made clear what meal i needed a receipt for she didn't seemed interested to be honest to listen or talk

Nice pub with a variety of drinks choices and a good reasonably priced menu.

I liked it before shut down food lovely but now social distancing was terrible. Tried to buy a drink and couldnt get near the bar. All customers never adhered to the l meter from bar marks and there were well over hundred ppl in there. Very disappointed in managements handling of this. No one was social distancing anywhere.however the landlord must have read my review and now things much better in daytime haven't been there inevening again yet but will update. Had nice meal there yesterday. Thanks Jim.

Good family crowd in today, food and company was outstanding as ever

I visited the Berechurch Arms twice last week and I must say the merlot and food was lovely! I had rump and chips one night and a lovely burger with fab onion rings on second night. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the chef even asked me how the food was. I’ll definitely go there again. Thanks Berechurch Arms. Lovely pub food and drinks.

We booked this for a family event (about 40 people) over a Sunday lunchtime and everything was just perfect. We all had roast dinners and the food was excellent - the staff were also very efficient and friendly Thank you to all concerned. It's also a very good choice for just a regular Sunday lunch too - good food and competitive prices. Recommended
