Benvenuto Takeaway in Dumfries & Galloway

Really sad to post this, but just had a really disappointing pizza from Benvenutos. I asked for extra pepperoni on my pepperoni pizza. If this was extra then I would hate to have seen a normal amount of pepperoni. My partner's pizza was just as disappointing. We have really enjoyed our pizzas from here in the past but I doubt we'll be going again in the near future.

Always good food and still hot after delivery

Not Happy at all! Ordered today, for lunch. Paid, payment taken. Email to say order processing. To receive another saying the order had failed. All ordered via Benvenuto website to then pay via Foodhub. Only to discover after calling 3 times. They were closed today! Says open on Foodhub, google and their own website. When I finally spoke to somebody on the phone they couldn't have been more rude. 'Why did you order when the shop is closed'. 'I will just cancel your order and you might get your money back' Never be back!

This is my favourite pizza. There is just something about the sauce. Absolutely delicious 😋🍕😁

Everything was excellent, except part of the order was missing.

Ordered 2 pizzas at 6.15pm finally had to phone at 7.35pm and was told they were just being sent out delivered at 7.55pm barely warm. Will not be ordering again.

I placed an order of regular panzanelle, a battered sausage supper and sweet panzanelle and it took them 1 hour and 30 mins to get to mine and I live less than 1 mile away. Plus the food was undercooked and lukewarm.

The pizzas are by far the best in the region. Cannot beat a pepperoni or meat feast. Will happily go again.

As a family of 5, 4 of which have coeliac disease, we ordered from here when staying in Dumfries. Absolutely delicious gluten free pizza, best we've tasted so far. Ignore the bad reviews, we ordered online and collected 15 mins later, brilliant service!! Will definitely visit again if we come back to Dumfries.

Fantastic takeaway! Friendly and helpful service. The food didn't take long & we were able to sit outside too which was nice. The food was delicious! Authentic Italian pizza, so so good!! Used to get our takeaway from this place over 20yrs ago and it's still as good as then!

Always have hot fabulous pizzas delivered. Never had an issue. Definitely our favourite place for pizzas in Dumfries.

Good, long established and popular authentic Italian food takeaway. Offer gluten free pasta and pizza options. The gluten free pizza bases are disappointing however and get very hard and chewy. The best gluten free pizza can be found in Dolce Vita in Bank / Irish Street, followed by Palmerston Cafe. Accepts contactless payments. Parking bay directly outside.

Pizza was nice,but frozen fish and chips.🤷‍♂️

Absolutely love a benven, spaghetti monkfish when they have it is just outstanding. Pizza, garlic bread, amatriciana all amazing. Service is always quick and the food is always freshly cooked. Even the chips which again are outstanding are freshly cooked for you. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Panzanella was alright garlic bread was a bit undercooked. The cream sauce tasted like it was off and has made me ill don't recommend but may be different for you all

Just had a takeaway. Always had great food before but really disappointed. The pizzas were soggy and did not taste fresh and the chips looked and tasted like lunchtime leftovers. Carbonara over salty. The delivery was really quick though only 20 minutes!

Two-hour wait is disgraceful. Never again 😤

Really went downhill. Panzanella was as hard as rocks - inedible. Pasta sauce tasted like fresh cream, nothing else. Delivery driver nice. Food, not nice.

Pizzas arrived undercooked and soggy. Carbonara had a funny perfume taste to it. Panzanelle had a strong taste of olive oil. I sent 2 emails and I got no response. Will certainly never be back there!!

past few times ive ordered from here, orders would come with things missing and/or food would be cold and arrive extremely late. its so sad because i used to love this place, but they really fell off, bruh. wouldn't recommend this place.

Unfortunately Georges was closed so tried fish and chips and sausage supper here, never again, in all honesty worse I've ever had, didn't eat it all and partner sick after. This was our second visit here after trying pasta months before which was tasteless and cold, should have left it at one visit, lesson learned!

They get my order wrong everytime. But the foods great so keep coming back

Just waited 2 hours for food was actually hot when it came, I got the seafood pasta which tasted nice but all the seafood was really overcooked and extremely chewy the prawns were cooked nice but none of them had been de veined which is slightly off putting the muscles were also gritty and hadn't been cleaned properly

Pizza was delicious but wow, calamari was like rubber bands the batter on the king rib and sausage should have been cooked longer. batter should be brown not white.

Waited nearly 2hrs,chips were hard,cheeseburger wasn't very nice either. Won't be ordering again!

I’ve used this place for while now as the food is great, recently however it’s been going down hill, now a 2 hour wait! Then when asked the delivery driver is this still hot, “yes straight out the shop” to have the food thrown at me as he runs off. The pizza is stone cold and can’t even be cut with a pizza cutter! Bloody awful. Won’t be using again.

I always have liked benven, it’s well priced and good quality. The fact you can order online and get discount is great aswell and delivery is always quick. Would recommend to anyone

Fish supper was v disappointing. Batter was very soggy and the fish was pale and undercooked. Chips were rock solid and tasted old.

Unbelievable. Cold over cooked food... stodgy panzanelle.missing chips..phoned to complain. Said will send some. Said too late don't bother..then over an hour later they send £2.. after charging £2:20..bloody pirates 🤔

Absolutely disgustied buy there food lasagne over cooked meatballs lacking sauce and steak pasta might have well have been bacon might has well threw £30 in the street never again then to compansate brought a haggis supper with under cook chips ....

Choices, prices and value for money. I had spaghetti bolognese. Large portion with lots of meat in a tasty sauce. Almost didn't finish it. Very helpful and friendly staff and very busy.

Fantastic pizza, great quality at a reasonable price with delivery available. Dough balls and chips weren't the best but the pizza more than made up for it.

Service is a little full on, however, the food is great. I wouldn't waste your time with ordering for delivery as it takes over an hour!! Recommend the Chicken Cacciatore - Bellissima!

To say the lasagne had very little meat would be an understatement. The pasta was totally overcooked to boot. Appalling.

Lovely pizza and not that expensive either.

Pizzas are lovely, wouldn't go for the Calzone as it's just plain mozzarella and a handful of ham with no taste.

Food is always great here and I will be back but unfortunately the lady is downright rude. I asked her kindly for a fork once and she bit my head off and replied " I know how to do my job "

I believe is an institution in with the local community, I just had the pizza and it was delicious. if you are looking for an authentic Italian flavour this is the place thumbs up

Food is a hit or miss , The woman that runs the place is on a whole new level of rude, will be avoiding this place from now on. BE warned!

Very good quality and made fast

Food took 2.5 hours to arrive, despite us being told it would be 1 hour. No apology offered and the dough balls came without sauce. Chips were undercooked. Plenty of other good Italians in Dumfries so avoid this one.

Always a busy shop so be prepared to wait. Food is always high quality and personally have alway received a warm welcome.

Food is reheated in foil dishes..not freshly made..cheap bulk buy products used cooked in batches hours earlier hence the complaints from other customers of inconsistency of ingredients..must be owned by non Italians as no decent self respecting Italian would pass off this as freshly made food..think school dinners and you won't be far away..avoid

we placed a phone order and we're charged an extra £8 for adding chicken to a carbonara dish. When questioning this, I was told "that's what I'm charging! You can take it or leave it!" When meal arrived it had no chicken but was full of mushrooms! Paid an extortionate price as it was early January. Owner was extremely rude on phone! I will never be back. I would not expect to be spoken to like that by anyone, let alone someone I am paying for their services! An absolute disgrace.

Pasta dishes freshly made to order to your own taste if needed. Salmon pasta is delicious. Staff are knowledgeable, courteous and happy.

Food nice, but the owner is always screaming at the staff and its very uncomfortable to watch.

Always go here for the pizzas which are usually fantastic, however my partner and i were let down last night as they were not up to the usual standard. The topping was minimal and cold ham was just dumped ontop of one of them..extremely disappointed as very poor compared to usual what a let down! :-(

Ordered a lasagne and chips to be delivered at 8.55 didn't turn up till 10.05, the lasagne was runny,watery and tasteless,the driver informed me they had ran out of chips,wasn't the best experience but will be my last

took ages for a delivery and was cold so totakt waste of money.bits a pure joke as didnt even say sorry
