We were going to sit in this evening after the Lantern Tour but the staff members in the cafe were rude. Advertising online to sit in after the tour but more than half the seats are blocked off? Staff clearly weren't wanting the work of serving customers or cleaning the tables. When asking about getting a seat we were told "Good luck with that".

Had a wonderfull lunch at the Unicorn Cafe, very accomodating to our gluten free needs and very helpful staff. Soup was lovely and healthy. We myself, husband and daughter all loved the food and it was a lovely spot to sit out of the wind and cold outside.

We paid twenty pounds for two sandwiches and a bottle of water and it was pretty bleak. Mine was an avocado club on chiabatta and the bread was so dry it was certainly several days old. For a nine pound sandwich it was extremely disappointing, with little to no filling in it. I ate half of it because I was pretty hungry but couldnt bring myself to finish it. I regret not going back to the counter and asking for a refund after the first sad bite. The staff seemed really nice and their cakes were good as I got one to fill the disappointment of the sandwich. Sandwiches definitly not worth the money. My boyfriend got the chicken flatbread but said it wasn't worth the money either.

Very practical because you can take away or eat on site, this is the Benugo chain. Smaller than others on the other hand and therefore less choice. There is a variety of sandwiches (prices and recipes) or more elaborate dishes but which seem expensive to me for what they are (for example, the slice of quiche with a small salad for +£10). The desserts/coffee are varied and at classic prices. On the other hand, I agree with the other opinions, the service is disorganized (only 1 person who collects, we don't know who to contact for the order because 3 people are doing the same thing and with the noise we don't always understand them well ) which means that the wait is quite long (15 min for 2 take-away sandwiches)... Please note, this snack restaurant is located in the castle (free access to the forecourt by asking the castle guards). When we went there, the address was wrong and it made us lose 15-20 minutes that we didn't have, because it was located at the bottom of the castle on maps and there were 2 addresses (Benugo and Unicorn cafe, which are the same place in reality)....

Lovely stop when exploring the castle, however is lacking the hospitality feel a visitor attraction should have. I had lunch here whilst showing some English friends around Scotland. The food and the service were great. I'd highly recommend their sandwiches, however the whole process of getting your food and seat feels a bit "service stationy". There seemed to be a lot of staff for no real position, that could have been utilised for table service or even just busting the used tables. I can not say anything wrong about the venue as its beautiful inside with four atriums off of a main corridor. The sandwiches and cake I had was fantastic, and I'd definitely go back for more.

Nestled within the historic Stirling Castle, the Unicorn Cafe offers a convenient dining option for visitors. The ambiance is charming with the castle's rich heritage. The veggie quiche was very good. The quiche is a must-try for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike. Its savory filling and flaky crust was yummy!

Very over priced apart from Egg Sandwich at £3.50. Sausage Roll (not very large) and poxy bit of salad, £11.60, having a laugh, not even option for Sausage Roll on its' own. Scone £ 4.60, nice, but not that nice. Will keep my money in my pocket next time as these are rip-off prices.

On the Stirling Castle premises is a small coffee shop called the Benugo and it has coffees and scones and other pastries. The coffee cost 3.50. You can either take the coffee there or also to go. It is good coffee and I can recommend getting a coffee or a snack there. The toilets are very clean.

Very busy when we went in, slightly chaotic with hot and cold queues and only one till open. Most of the tables were occupied and the table staff were rushed off their feet trying to keep tables clean and clear.

We stopped in after a few hours at the Castle and were expecting a minimal amount of food and were surprised that they had hot food line. Obviously, since is in Stirling Castle, it is a more expensive than other places, but not unreasonable. I think it was somewhere between £20 -£30 between 2 people and we got a lot of food. I ordered the Mac and Cheese. It was some of the best I have had anywhere. The person with me got a Haggis pie that they were very happy with. There are also sandwiches, breads, and pastries. Servers were nice and friendly. They don't take AmEx.

Insanely expensive for the quality, a lot of food packed in plastics. It's nice eating in the old castle walls, but this cafe could have a much better atmosphere given the setting. The service overall was fine, the food didn't taste terribly, although it probably wasn't the freshest either.

Stopped in for lunch when we visited Stirling Castle. Was fairly busy and kind of loud. You line up like a cafeteria to place your order and pick up your food after the end of the line. Fair selection of sandwiches. The food was okay, we didn't go away hungry.

This was a snack with kids given we were at Stirling castle. Food quality and quantity was disappointing. Service was ok. Suggest get ur own food and avoid the cafe altogether. 5£ for kids macaroni cheese. 5£ for Mediterranean wrap and 3.3£ for a coffee.

Went in to get a coffee . This is the first and last timebi will go here. Stood at the counter waiting to be served. 2 members of staff stood over in the seating area chatting. They looked over to see me waiting and carried on chatting and laughing. After 5 minutes I decided to leave. I go to Costa daily and never experienced this before . Customer service clearly doesn't exist here.
