Benk + Bo Bakery in City of London, Westminster

I’ve been here a couple of times this week and it’s been a treat. Great place to sit for a few hours with a laptop working and drinking coffee, but I’d be just as happy to sit there chatting with a friend or reading a book, if I had either with me! Nice coffee and they have a generous approach to water - fizzy and still both free on tap. I had a delicious Norwegian pancake and hope to work my way through the rest of the baked goods!

Absolutely incredible sandwiches! Delicious combinations and each one is without question worth your time, attention and appetite. Very cool hang out spot too, calming, meditative and just super chilled, highly recommended if you’re looking for a place to relax and/or focus in the area and enjoy some awesome food & drink whilst you’re at it.

He visitado este lugar varias veces, cada vez que voy juro que los matcha lattes mejoran. He tenido que registrarme en un centro de rehabilitación de matcha por eso, en serio, ¿cómo puedes hacer un café con leche de coco tan cremoso? Además, hablemos de ensaladas. Las ensaladas en Londres pueden ser secas, aburridas y bastante caras. Las ensaladas en Benk + Bo están llenas (!), Súper sabrosas y siempre hay una variedad de opciones. Gran lugar para relajarse, conectarse en red y conectarse.

Awful place. Avoid at all costs. The staff are rude. The venue is pretentious. I would never ever choose to spend money here again.

Impossibly slow service (it wasn’t busy) I mean how long can it take to assemble granola with berries and yogurt? Nearly an hour apparently, by which time the (tiny) coffee I bought to go with it was but a distant memory. Staff give you the feeling you are in the way just by walking through the door. Trying so hard to be cool, but just come across as pretentious.

So according to their website Benk + Bo means work bench in Norwegian. The whole place is a bit of a concept and cafe where the premises is multi functional work place. The idea being an open working environment to encourage collaboration. A bit like a niche and cooler version of WeWork. However, I only came in for a cup of coffee. I ordered a latte and admittedly, it was a good cup of latte. It came is a small cup (smaller than even a Primo from Costco. Priced at £3, it was good, but not that good. Overall, far too expensive.

Really unimpressed with this place. All the staff were sullen and rude, they acted as if we were in their way, even though we had paid to use the space for an event! They were very understaffed, so there were long waits and chaotic huffs when we ordered food and drinks. The prosecco was warm and flat and was served in a wine glasses. The downstairs area is very stuffy, with no air, and it was very poorly lit. The toilets had run out of loo roll and hand soap. A few plants thrown about is simply not enough to create a pleasant atmosphere here... A smile goes a long way, and they are free - something the staff here really need to learn. The only good thing about this place is that they have filtered fizzy water on tap and you can help yourself. Thank God, because if I had to ask them for water as well as a latte - God knows how they would have reacted!

Hard to describe Benk+Bo without a flow of superlatives. Great coffee. Amazing range of pastries suitable for vegans (with zero trade offs). Fantastic environment to work from and super friendly staff. Simply the best...

entrati per caso, durante un viaggio di lavoro, a piedi dalla City alla stazione dei treni per l'aeroporto di Stansted, mi ritrovo in una Londra diversa. Un posto accogliente e sospesa in una dimensione umana dove la libertà assoluta di sedersi e prendersi il proprio tempo è inteso come il carattere lussuoso del posto. Se non ho compreso male, siamo in un forno con un'assoluta predilezione per i dolci ahimè non assaggiati ma già visivamente bellissimi. I piatti del giorno sono preparati seduta stante e, per la maggior parte, riferibili al mondo vegetariano: ho assaggiato un ottimo toast con funghi ed una squisita zuppa di carote. Il tutto accompagnato da una tisana camomilla e zenzero piacevolissima. La squisitezza del personale non ha prezzo. Se tornassi a Londra credo che lo terrò come un punto di riferimento, non solo culinario.

Truly enjoyed this place! Really good coffee and a great place to sit and work! Friendly staff. Would really recommend this place!
