Great food and service as usual

Lovely little Indian restaurant. Food is good. Went there 3 times.

Really disappointed with the service today we have ordered from and eaten in this restaurant loads throughout the year and have never had any issues. However today we ordered for 7:30 and received our food before 5:30 I normally wouldn’t mind but we said this to the delivery guy but he just left with the money I called and the manager just kept repeating there was not time on the order although it took 2 hours from ordering the food to it arriving so they clearly didn’t start the food when the order came through. After supporting the restaurant for so long it would have been nice for a little understanding over the phone and a solution offered rather than taking no accountability for the problem if it was a issue with the “3rd party service” as the manager said then that needs sorting out and I the customer shouldn’t have been made to feel guilty for asking for a solution to this problem

Eaten here before and it's been amazing. Unfortunately tonight's take away was far from the experience we've had before. One of the dishes was completely wrong and the other luke warm. Seeing others having the same issue has made me very hesitant to want to order again.

Usually fantastic food and lovely people but please, who ever the cook is tonight 29th nov 2024, get rid of them. had the food like this once before and just makes me weary to bother coming again incase we get unlucky and its tonights cook. Its now a lotto whether its gonna be great or inedible, Its really letting it down.

The food is nice, shame they always mess up the order.

I couldn't rate it any more as I didn't get to eat the food. I tried to book a table for Monday late evening and the phone was not answered so we decided to risk it and walk in to be told we can only have takeaway. Your opening times stated until 10.30. Very disappointed!

I love a chicken Tikka Dhansak with its thick rich sweet, sour and madras hot sauce. First time ordering from the Bengal Spice in Thrapston. What I got was a runny, insipid, tasteless curry that had not even the slightest hint of spice. Very very disappointed and will not be visiting again.

1st April just been into this wonderful Indian restaurant and ordered a take away chicken curry rice and breads I have to say it was absolutely delicious very helpful staff 100% will be using again

Received a take way the main meal was really nice but the chicken pakora where not the best the batter was very soggy and greasy also the prawn puree was not up to your normal standard.

Being an adult, I choose where I eat and what I eat, I read reviews and listen to recommendations, this restaurant has it right, the food is very good the service is very good. The menu is excellent, with a great selection to choose from. Good selection of wine which surprised me. The problem with reviews is : it’s as good as the last meal/review. I eat out most nights of the working week and get very bored with it, this restaurant has literally brightened my month up. I have spent a little bit of time in India, yes the food in country is definitely different than in an English restaurantsI, but i have to say “is’t really very very good!” can’t recommend this restaurant enough. Please keep up the fantastic food!

If you asked me if I would recommend them before today, I would have given this place a good review. And in fact I was only telling a friend about the food at this place yesterday. However tonight, we ordered on line and 5 minutes later we had a call from the owner to say that they could not deliver as we had previously called a driver a “gypsy”. We explained that he must have the wrong house as we would never say that to anyone and that my partners son used to work at his restaurant and always spoke to the delivery guys as he knew them from When he worked there, So it couldn’t have been us. He then went on to explain that it was someone in the house that said it, we again said that he was wrong and this did not happen. We asked if this had anything to do with my partners ex working there now as a driver (and Working tonight) and if this was the real reason. He still said no it was because we had abused the driver when he delivered. He then explained that we could go and collect but that he couldn’t deliver. Does this not beg the question that.. if we had truthfully abused their driver then surely they would not want our business at all…Whether it be collection or delivery? I’ve never left a negative review about a small business like this before as it goes against the grain for me. However, to lie about us just so that my partners ex doesn’t have to deliver here is appalling and not very customer centric at all. We are yet awaiting confirmation of the refund of the payment we have made on line. I fully expect them to lie in response to this review. However I know that everything I've stated here is accurate.

Went here as a group of four. Service was great, food was delicious and I would go here again for sure.

I order from here regularly me and my partner always have a byriani however I ordered this evening and the spice level was ridiculous. They did send out a milder sauce but the spice was still there. When I contacted them to ask for a refund due to not being able to eat my dinner I was told they couldn’t because it wasn’t hot as he had checked. Be careful what you order as there isn’t consistency here in this restaurant.

I visited Bengal Spice tonight and it was an amazing evening. We were greeted and welcomed in by the lovely staff. The food was 10/10. From the drinks and starters to the naan and curries. All were made fresh and can be seen being made from our table. Waiters were very helpful and the manager was hands on to ensure everything was ok. I would highly recommend Bengal Spice for freshly made Indian cuisine food.

Hidden away from the main road, but worth the search. Visited at 7pm on a weekday evening so it was quiet, but got busier as I was getting ready to leave. Excellent food, fish curry with extras, good portion size, cold beer, attentive service. Plenty of parking available.

Came here tonight for a family meal and it couldn't have been better! We will definitely be back again! Gorgeous food and we thought it was really good value too! It's a hidden gem I would say and the guys who all worked in there were all polite and friendly and attentive. Well done guys

I came here on a mid week night out with my workmates. It was nice to be able to see into the kitchen while meals were being prepared. We ordered various dishes which were all cooked to perfection and generous servings. I can honestly say that the chicken dish I had (can't remember the name), was lovely and tender, not hard and dried up like in a lot of other places. And we had delicious coffee floaters to finish off. Service was quick with no errors. Khaled has now earned bragging rights for how he made 11 women happy in one night! 🤣 I'll be back again soon.

Tell ya what , I've had some bait all awa and the Gurkas revenge with coconut rice was summit else like . What a flavour , requested a bit extra garlic but I'm a garlic freak and maybe a bit more heat . CRACKING . can't fault the lads 👌

I have worked all over the country and without a doubt the quality and taste of the food in this Indian restaurant is second to none, a nice setting with a massive visual kitchen and a relaxed atmosphere, If you like Indian food and are in the area this is definitely worth a visit.

Not the best Indian meal I’ve ever had Lamb was grisly and chewy, Nan bread tasted like it was brought in from Asda, not sure about the olives and sweet corn in the salad not exactly Indian cuisine. Very Disappointed

This is a great Indian restaurant and takeaway. The food is delicious and the staff are so friendly and kind. The restaurant has lots of space and is kid friendly.

The food was delicious and friendly staff. One hiccup with our takeaway as they forgot one of the main dishes. I recommend double checking before you leave or if they read this for them to double check before sending customers away. I called and they delivered the missing dish but it did mean I ate later than the rest of my family. Still 4/5 for how they dealt with it and we enjoyed the food.

Dined in..... Great food coupled with great service .... Fairly busy but not overly....meal for two was £60 with a couple of beers each.... Not our local curry house but no reason not to go back.... Good menu choice with plenty of helpings on offer....

Superb food, freshly cooked and comes with, wait for it, a HOT plate. Very clean well lit premises and if the mood takes you, you can see your order being prepared and cooked to perfection. One of the best Indian meals I've had for years. There is ample parking right outside, so find out your best stretchy trousers and enjoy.

First visit. Very impressed. Lovely meal, tasty Special Biryani was down with a cool Cobra on draught. Will definitely come here again to try the great selection of Chefs Specials.

Excellent takeaway meal. Chicken Anawaka and Chicken Pasanda really delicious as were accompanying side dishes all having very different individual tastes. Not always the case with Asian takeaway food. Only disappointment was the Tarka Dall which was more like soup than dall. Otherwise a real pleasure to eat this food. One of the best takeaway meals in a long time.

What are real shame, I won't come here again the waiters had no personality at all no atmosphere at all. Food was poor and a disappointment. Very expensive compared to other places I've eaten.

We paid this restaurant a visit on a Monday evening around 7 as its my girlfriends favourite place locally. It was very quiet as you would expect but there did seem to be a steady stream of take outs and deliveries. We were greeted as we entered and COVID restrictions in were place as we gave our details and shown to our table. The barman sorted drinks for us quickly and took our orders soon after. The food took a long time (40 minutes) which is a good sign that it was freshly cooked. It tasted fantastic and we left barely anything so we were very satisfied. I do have 2 slight criticisms however. A noisy barrel delivery in to the restaurant during service slightly ruined the ambiance and seeing someone stood eating in the kitchen was not a great sight during these times of enhanced hygiene. It was an enjoyable experience however and we will be back.
