First time at Belvedere, and the only regret is to have not discovered this little gem before. You walk in and you'll find yourself back in time. Gaetano runs this authentic Italian trattoria since 1987 and He's a master chef faithful to the most authentic Italian cuisine. Everything at Belvedere still genuine as it was half a century ago. 10 of us went for my birthday last night. No complaints from anyone. Excellent food, brilliant service and a real friendly atmosphere. It's just like being in Italy.

If you're looking for an authentic Italian dining experience, look no further than this hidden gem of a restaurant! The food here is simply amazing. From the pizza to the lasagna, everything is fresh, delicious, and cooked to perfection. But the real star of the show here is the tiramisu. It was hands down the best I've ever had - creamy, light, and bursting with flavour. I could easily have eaten another serving! The atmosphere in the restaurant is cozy and welcoming, and the service is friendly and attentive. It's clear that this place is a labour of love for the family who runs it, and their passion for their craft shines through in every dish. Had a lovely meal here on a Saturday night with some friends. The food and service were excellent, and we are lucky to have a small family owned Italian restaurant in Mold. The menu is authentic Italian food and rarely disappoints... We have been here twice in the last six months and enjoyed the evening. Will be back again soon!

A long established family restaurant providing authentic Italian meals. We have been on a number of occasions and have never left disappointed.

Reading the reviews, this restaurant sounded perfect. On arrival there where two people seated, shown to our seats, drinks order taken. Young waitress, second night, very nervous which is fine, she was very sweet. Food ordered, chicken dish in butter and cream sauce and steak medium rare, pepper corn sauce. Food arrived, chicken was a square shape and so dry and chewy, sauce very watery and tasted like tinned chicken soup !! Steak very thin and not good, drowned in sauce, wrong potato dish arrived, the most bland flavourless meal we have ever had, I never add salt but absolutely necessary, sorry to say this was the very worst meal we have ever eaten. Will not return.

A welcoming family restaurant providing beautifully cooked and presented authentic Italian food. The owners were very helpful, booking us in for an early meal to ensure we had plenty of time to get to the theatre before the performance started. The service was quick and courteous, with excellent value for money. We are ashamed to admit this was our first visit despite moving to the area several years ago and having strong recommendations from family and friends. It will definitely be the first of many!

Dinner here is like a little holiday to Italy. Wonderfully rich food and a friendly, all-Italian atmosphere. One thing to note is that they only take cash, but there are plenty of cash points up the road - approx 5min walk or 1 min drive

Visited on a quiet Wednesday night and enjoyed a lovely 3 course meal with fabulous hosts. Special of pork with provolene highly recommended. Stonking bottle of montepulchiano went down really well. I can’t believe this place has been open since ‘86 and I haven’t been before. Well worth a visit.

A lovely authentic family run Italian with consistently good service and excellent food. We love visiting this restaurant and also enjoy their takeaways which are always quickly prepared and very good value!

What a little gem of a place. Traditional home cooked Italian food that is the best we've tasted in a very long time. The staff are absolutely fabulous, very welcoming and will do anything to make your visit a memorable one. Just one little comment to know is that its cash only. Enjoy

Just come from the restaurant now and once again extremely pleased with the whole experience. The food, the wine and the service all excellent. The owner takes time to come out to chat and see if everything is to your liking and we had a lovely chat about the places in Italy we have been to and are planning on visiting. A lovely restaurant run by lovely people. Highly recommended.

Lovely asparagus starter, lamb main course. Helpful friendly new waitress. Only not giving 5 stars because the wine (which was a £6 bottle from a supermarket at best was expensive and there was very little lamb, 3 tiny pieces). Otherwise all good.

Our first visit to this very quaint restaurant. Cannot fault the food we were all impressed. Love the little touches like the pottery carafe. Attentive staff. Highly recommended will definitely return

I can't understand the reviews about this place, it was awful the only Italian thing about this place was the owners! The steak meal was awful £18 served in a soup bowl and vegetables looked 5 days old and were microwaved to hell! The starter was £10 packet meats and the cheesy garlic bread was shocking 6 slices for £8 bottle of wine £20 the tirmasu £7 was frozen in the middle! I was told by the reviews were homemade Italian food absolutely no way the 2 microwaves were on constantly I could see into the kitchen from where I was sitting! We were the only table in there it was cold and run down it looked like a cafe in 1960s, I can't understand the reviews this was truely the worst meal I have ever had out in my life and for £120 werent even offered a liquor neither the bill, people of Mold don't let these people get away with awful shocking microwave food, can't understand the reviews on this place its a totally dump and shockingly over priced food not authentic at all absolutely rubbish terrible restaurant, so disappointed 😞

Just had a pizza & garlic bread from there, the worst over priced pitza we have ever had. We will never go there again! Poor quality, way over priced, terrible. Ruined our evening still Hungry will have to order a decent one from up the road!

The most wonderful relaxed and authentic Italian dinning experience this evening. A sheer joy to sample delightful food , great wine and masterful service in this delightful cosy restaurant .My steak in Tomato and Garlic sauce was to die for !And an honour that the wonderful chef de partie visited our table !!!!Above and beyond any flash Chester or Liverpool abode and worthy of London chilled dinning .A find , an experience that all local people should visit , experience and enjoy

Due to lockdown we celebrated my 60th birthday with a takeaway meal from the Belvedere. It was lovely. Couldn’t have made a better choice. Food was amazing, and staff lovely. Highly recommended, and a nice change from the usual Chinese and Indian takeaways. Will definitely be ordering from here Again very soon.

Just enjoyed a delicious takeaway from the Belvedere for my birthday. We have always enjoyed visiting this lovely restaurant in the past both for the food and the atmosphere. Can,t wait to get back there when 'normal' times return. Thank you Belvedere for the meal tonight.

The Belvedere does close periodically for the owners to visit Italy but if you can go they know how to cook Italian food through many years of experience. Absolutely first rate

This was our 1st visit to the Belvedere and certainly wont be our last!!!!! One of the nicest Italians we have ever had, we have recently been to Sorrento felt like we were still there! Our pasta was cooked to perfection, we were made to feel very welcome by the owners, 3 courses each, bowl of spaghetti and ice cream for the little one, glass of red wine and a cappuccino all for £47!!! We went on a quiet Tuesday night, the restaurant has been run for over 40 years by the same Italian couple. Food excellent and owners very friendly, we would not hesitate to recommend and will definately be going again.

It was a last minute booking for myself and my parents. We came with no expectations and were more than satisfied. Great value for money, the food was brilliant, the service was lovely and the atmosphere was the cherry on the top! The only thing to remember is to bring cash with you as they don’t take card payments (understandable to keep costs low). Defiantly be coming back here in the near future!

Visited for the first time in a couple of years last evening (baby got in the way of more frequent visits!) and service, hosting and food was as good as ever.

We had a wonderful meal here to celebrate a Birthday; a perfect plate of Antipasto Misto, the specials of stuffed peppers ( subtle and delicious) and smoked cod pasta, the divinely light Tiramisu and a Grappa to finish. A warm room and a warm welcome on a cold night; so nice to have this restaurant still going strong for more than 30 years.

Perfect friendly Italian casual dining, nothing is too much trouble.

Beautiful original all Italian restaurant. Service is excellent and food is beautiful.

Nice little place but I wasn't prepared for the prices. Too expensive for what you get,portions small and all food too salty. The wine per glass very expensive as well and in short shaking the owners' hand and Italian "ambiance" shouldn't make a person have to part with far too much cash for what you get!

Just enjoyed a very authentic Italian meal in a small and intimate setting. Had the pleasure of meeting the owner and family members. The menu is quite extensive to meet all tastes. If you wish to rekindle a visit to Italy a visit to The Belevdere will revive memories. You need to take cash as they do not accept cards. Will clearly visit again

We visited early on Saturday evening for a pre-theatre dinner. We didn't think there would be anyone else in there as it was so early. To our amazement there were already 6 other people eating. From the outside the restaurant looks nothing and the surrounding area is a bit shabby, but inside it's wonderful. The restaurant is run by an Italian couple and we were greeted by the wife who seated us at the table. Her husband then came and introduced himself and made us feel like we were old friends. They were marvellous. Having ordered our food (they do gluten free pasta which is delicious) we then sat back to enjoy a glass of wine and a look at our surroundings. The whole ambience of the place, and the Italian banter coming from the kitchen, made it feel like you were in a little back-street restaurant in the heart of Italy. The place is only small but it oozes character. We were not disappointed with the food either which came in a good-sized portion. In fact we were so full we couldn't manage dessert so just had a coffee which was accompanied by Amaretti biscuits and chocolate mints. Very good coffee. We have not been here before but will certainly be going again next time we visit the theatre.

This is as authentic as it gets when it comes to Italian cuisine. It's a small, cosy restaurant run by a senior gentleman and his wife. The menu offers a wide range of pasta choices and whilst the choice of pizzas are slightly limited, they are all well made, delicious and are offered at extremely affordable prices.

Visited with two friends, one of whom can’t eat dairy, and we were looked after so well.

A lovely quaint Italian restaurant. Tonight with the beautiful weather it really felt like A taste of Italy in Wales. Great selection on the menu. The asparagus cheese to start was delicious. The egg soup was lovely too. Pollo for our main was beautiful. The ice creams are just yummy! You must visit it is a hidden gem in North Wales.

An excellent meal in friendly surroundings- as ever. Freshly prepared Italian cuisine that tastes great. Because this is a restaurant that really does cook fresh, you can also request variations to your own taste. This is a small family run restaurant that is very popular, so it is always best to book on Fridays and Saturdays.

Authentic Italian good and great service

A family group of 14 went for an early evening meal. Due to the numbers we ordered in advance. All meals were exactly as ordered, including slight differences from the menu, and served piping hot. This is a small, homely, friendly family run restaurant, no frills, just really good Italian food prepared by Italian owners. The meals included pizzas, spag bol, carbonara, lasagne, tagliatelle and chicken cacciatore, all of which were thoroughly enjoyed. Even the one steak meal was excellent, with the steak being cooked as ordered. We finished with some portions of the home made tiramisu, gorgeous!

There’s a cosy friendly atmosphere which is authentically Italian, and the menu certainly lives up to that.

I can't say enough about this restaurant! All the food is outstanding and the service is unbeatable!

We really enjoyed our meal here. The owner came and chatted to us and being there for 36 years they are definatly doing it well. It's a quaint little restaurant and family run, with the whole family, even the grandchildren there learning the ropes. It's so lovely to be in a place that runs like this and becoming such a rarity. You can't get a welcome like this in the big, shiney massive restaurants. This is the kind of place that will regually open early for people with children or make a dish not on the menu if requested. Lovely pasta dish and propper garlic bread what more can you ask for !

Visitamos el Belvedere para cenar el sábado después de un intervalo de un par de años. Algunas cosas cambian a lo largo de los años, pero nos quedamos encantados de encontrar que fue tan buena como lo recordábamos. Llegamos bastante temprano y el restaurante ya estaba bastante concurrida. El servicio fue rápido y nuestros tres cursos fueron de una muy excelente estándar, ya hemos realquilado!

Welcome back to 1986! Not overly impressed. Bruschetta for starters-came out as cheese on toast! No tomatoe topping or anything else on it for that matter. I had the penne salmone In a tomatoe sauce for mains. Was ok but nothing like I've had in other restaurants-was served in a lasagne style,in a ceramic dish with loads of cheese in and tasted oven. The chef who is the owner was very pleasant and chatty and the place is clean and cozy-albeit it's not changed one bit since 1986.same decor chairs tables and place mats.It's the only Italian outside of chester so nothing to compare it to locally but for £65 for the 2 of us -hmm am not sure we'd be back.

I had the Tropicana pizza - ham and pineapple. I've had it a million times in various places, but never have I ever taken one mouthful and been so stunned. It was beautiful. It had some sort of herb on it (maybe rosemary?) and I've been craving another one ever since! I have to go back. My friend has been before and always has the spaghetti bolognase - she loves it. Take cash because they don't take cards. But definitely go here!! It's a small restaurant too, so worth booking in advance to make sure there's room.

Celebrating our 1st anniversary together this was the perfect place!I have been eating at this restaurant for many years and have never been disappointed!I had the wild boar and it was simply delicious...This is a lovely authentic Italian restaurant ( no Liverpudlians with an Italian accents here!) We had a lovely family meal at this excellent Italian restaurant. Small and cosy, we were made welcome from the moment we arrived by the friendly and professional staff. Food was excellent - freshly prepared and delicious. Trout with prawns and stuffed aubergines were especially good. Good selection of wine and drinks. Some very tempting Italian food gifts on offer for Christmas as well!

Having been told that this was a great little Italian restaurant I feel compelled to inform others who are brave enough to go. 8 of us for a christmas get together, only 4 of us could actually ear our meals, no one asked us if we were okay, and when we eventually spoke directly to the chef he told us he couldn't care less what we thought. The food was cheap and over cooked. Half of our table got ignored for the drinks order and I had to get up and order some drinks. When my gin and tonic arrived, there was actually no gin in it. The whole meal came to just under £300 and we all felt cheated. It was only for the fact that we were in great company that we suffered in silence and paid our bill. I will never go back here.

This was one of the nicest restaurants I've been to in a long time. We went for my birthday so there were 11 of us - everyone's food was delicious and such big portions. The price is surprisingly cheap considering how great it tasted. It felt like you were having your dinner at their family home. It had a wonderful atmosphere - what a great find! I will definitely be back again. (They also do takeaway!)

This little Italien place does not look much from the outside, in fact we drove past it at first. We were able to book a table for for that evening on a Saturday which was great. Tiny doors to squeeze through! Lovely decor, newspaper clippings displayed of the restaurant and the owner, lovely to see. Bread and butter brought out to us, really soft bread. Starters were fab, minestrone soup and pate. Mains, pizza and trout stuffed with prawns. I was cooked the wrong trout meal, seemed like a genuine mistake, waited for another ten minutes for my meal which arrived, absolutely delicious, well worth the wait! Staff were lovely and friendly, definitely recommend it!

A first visit to this small but traditional Italian. A handshake off the owner when we entered made us feel very welcome. As stated above a small but adequate restaurant, with a very Italian feel. The food was excellent, cooked from recipes from the Naples region, not from the corporate larger Italian eateries, and you could tell. I've sampled meatballs before but never have they been in this league. Our host was friendly, attentive but also afforded us privacy, happy to talk about Italy but also about Mold that had been his home for 60 plus years. This restaurant has been in Mold for 31 years. It deserves to be busy, try it, you won't be disappointed.

I've lived in Mold for 13 years and, until last Thursday - my birthday - had never visited this restaurant.What an absolute delight it turned out to be. The food was absolutely delicious - both my friend and I had pasta dishes for our main, shared miso board for starters and a delicious limoncello dessert. The wine I chose was perfect and we finished the meal off with a sambucco ! What a feast for my birthday, simple, rustic but authentic Italian fare.The owner and his wife were charming and attentive and I'll certainly be going back for more !Thank you,Eileen

I've lived in Mold all of my life & never even knew this little gem was here! It's a lovely family run Italian, very small but very traditional. Plenty of choice and the food is gorgeous, probably the best Italian food I've had outside of Italy!! The only thing is they serve cheap & nasty alcohol at expensive prices. This let's it down as you can't get a nice glass of wine to go with perfect food. Don't really like how the wine is served in old chipped jugs either.
