Primo Amore in Flintshire

Booked a table two weeks in advance, left contact details with the restaurant as requested. Arranged a lift in to Mold only to find the restaurant closed "due to unforeseen circumstances". By this time our lift had left. Unforeseen circumstances do sadly happen - but no attempt was made to contact us and advise of the late closure. Consequently we were left a fair few miles from home with no table booking. Fortunately we found another restaurant within Mold and a good night was had. The food and service here may be good, we just never got the opportunity to try it

Very friendly service. The food was a very generous portion and tasted fabulous. A relaxed atmosphere with a nice bit of music. Will definitely go back if we come this way again.

My first visit and definitely my last. I ordered a baked pasta with chicken. The only oven the pasta had seen was a microwave. It was not freshly made. I'd say it had been made a day or so earlier. The chicken was thigh meat which I wasn't expecting but it's usually used in a dish so that it doesn't dry out. It was so dry , chewy and flavourless that I couldn't eat it. Certainly not the sumptuous taste of Italy that I was expecting. Having explained to the waitress that I didn't like it and wouldn't be eating it I was surprised when it showed on the bill. However after questioning it the dish was removed from the bill. When I came to pay I was informed that I had to pay with cash. I'd booked online and it wasn't stated anywhere on the confirmation email, nor were we told on arrival so I had the inconvenience of having to walk to the cash machine. My change was given to me in 5p pieces which was rather churlish and summed up the whole disappointing experience.

We have never been before but really fancied a real Italian, and what a find! Food was delicious, all freshly prepared and our waiter was a very polite and attentive young man. Only downside was they had sold out of most of puddings, but then it was Tuesday following bank holiday weekend so understandable, ice creams instead 😀 we will definitely be back

Wanted to like this place, especially after reading positive reviews. However, service very slow, piped Italian lift music not great, pizza undercooked, with too much cheese. Overall very disappointing.

Pretty disappointed, tried here as it was recommended to us. We all had pizzas but I’m sure they don’t even use mozzarella, tasted like cheddar and pizza was smothered in it. They also add a 10% service charge without even asking, which for an independent restaurant I think is a bit cheeky. Not the nicest of restaurants either. Won’t be returning.

This restaurant is perfect, nothing is any trouble, food is scrumptious and served with a smile. My party and I love the ambiance and environment of the restaurant. The Manager was more than happy to decorate our room for a surprise birthday gathering. We can’t thank you enough for a brilliant evening.

Visited on Saturday evening for a meal with husband and teenage son. Relaxed, friendly, excellent service, despite the restaurant being extremely busy with a number of large tables/parties. We were kept informed about timings throughout without having to ask, although it was a lovely, bustling atmosphere and we were more than happy to wait for the excellent food! This is our fourth visit and we enjoy it more every time. Courtney is a huge asset to the team - very friendly but calm and professional under a lot of pressure. Food was perfectly cooked, as always, and piping hot. The starter platter of meats and cheeses is a favourite. Can’t wait to come back!

Very attentive waitress, very tasty food, but disappointing to receive a very small portion for a main meal, as opposed to what was served up (same dish) when I ate here last year with family. Don't rule this restaurant out though based on that small personal issue, the food is amazing, just make sure you have a side order of chips if a main is all you're intending on ordering.

Very upset, as my Sister booked a table for 8 as it was my Nephew’s Birthday and he had want to go for ages… we arrived at the restaurant only to find that it was all locked up at 6pm and no one around, my sister had no phone call to say they weren’t open? When the food eventually arrived it was lovely, no issues at all. However, the service was very slow with a wait of over an hour for the starters to arrive, and when they did one of our party did t get theirs for another 15 minutes. Service throughout the whole meal was lacking which was a shame as the food was good. When we went to pay we were told it was cash only, so I had to go into town and find a cash machine. They told me that when we booked we were told it was cash only, that wasn’t the case but they suggested I was wrong! Overall, not a great experience, the Domino’s next door would have been quicker.

Called in tonight for dinner, our first visit and were very happy with the service we received and the food that was ordered. The staff were very friendly and helpful too. One thing to note is that card payments are not taken but we were offered the option of paying by bank transfer instead as we had no way of withdrawing cash from the local ATM.

Late booking for a group of 11, very accommodating. Really pleasant gent who served us and was funny and engaging at the end of the evening. Despite being the only waiter on, the service was really good and the food all arrived piping hot and was lovely. Prices were reasonable, recommend.

We visited early on a Sunday evening without booking. Welcome was warm but we were informed straight away that they were accepting cash only for payment and told us where the nearest ATM was. We sat down and ordered food and drinks. Starter of garlic bread was delicious and had added cheese, herbs and a bit of salad as an extra touch. All good so far. Main courses were mostly good too - pizza dough a little thick for my liking and the chicken parma was a little greasy but reasonable value for money and can't fault the service.

This was our first time here. The service was very good, food was excellent and all cooked fresh. Prices were all reasonably priced. We all look forward to visiting this place again we thoroughly enjoyed it 🙂

Really, really good friendly atmosphere, staff are, however, over eager asking to take order every 5 minutes. Food is amazing and freash and hot. Music and lighting very tranquil. My only criticism would be the cold, turn the heating on its freezing. May I just mention the food again which was the best pasta I have ever eaten. Wish you guys all the best.....

Have visited this place twice. First time was last year, and was blown away by the service and food. Visited again this week and still amazing service and food. Very clean inside, staff attentive. We will continue returning

The food was beautiful and the front of house staff were fantastic and really doing thire best. There was a really long wait on the food but this was due to being a chef down. We booked for a party of 7 . Arrived a little earlier than our table booking. We were ushered upstairs to a private room. Waited over an hr for somebody to take drinks orders then we ordered food another hr wait. Food was lovely when it arrived but they were so busy downstairs I think they totally forgot about us. We even had to go downstairs to pay our bill as nobody came to ask. Avoid at busy times.

Pre - booked table for 4, waited 1 hour and a half for starters, after finishing them waited a further 30 mins for main courses. One of the pizzas ordered was wrong but didn’t want to wait any longer for a replacement. If we had been told to start with there was going to be a delay we may have been more accepting. Unfortunately I am unable to write a comment on the food/service as we didn't get to go to the restaurant, I phoned at 11.30 am to book a table for 5 people as a birthday treat, but the call was diverted as the restaurant is closed in the day, I phoned again at 3.00 pm still no answer, phoned again 5.30 pm which was answered, we were told that they didn't receive my message as they were having problems with their booking system & that they would phone back in 5 minutes, the phone call never came so I contacted them once again & was told that they were fully booked so couldn't accommodate us, very disappointed & absolutely NOT impressed, if they don't receive messages or phone back when they said they would then it say's a lot about their service in the restaurant, certainly won't be trying to re-book.

Omg what an amazing romantic place the food was to die for the best Italian I've ever had by far , the risotto we had omg was so lovely I couldn't stop eating it. I’ve just had the best experience of any Italian restaurant, in a setting that was very comfortable and immaculately clean. Menu offered many great Italian dishes, and Liam front of house, could recommend dishes for everyone’s taste, including a friend dislike to garlic 🙄, so informing the chef no garlic in her meal. A fantastic atmosphere and staff at hand for your service, very attentive and polite, even the young lad who helped to clear the table when you’ve finished your course. I can’t recommend this Italian restaurant enough, high standards and delicious food from all parts of Italy. Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed. You can’t rush excellence in preparing a meal fresh from scratch, and it’s great to eat in a high level restaurant and not being rushed out after you’ve finished eating. Top marks.

Outstanding service, our waiters Liam was absolutely spot on, nothing was to much trouble. The primo amore had a nice atmosphere, the tables where well set out but best of all was the food it was amazing, everything is cooked from scratch, fresh ingredients and you could taste the difference, I had one of the vegan choices it was so tasty, the salds where amazing, the menu is extensive but they can adapt it to your choice. I will certainly go again, forgot to mention they have a bar area and an extensive drinks list...... a must try restaurant that offers good value and great food

Arrived on time. Ordered drinks 2 pints peroni 2 bottles alcohol free beer. No draught beer, only one low alcohol bottle. Had to settle for 1 small peroni bottle and a glass of fizzy water. Long wait for food but it was OK. Got the bill and paid it. No indication on bill of amount of service charge charged. Checked bill and thought I had been overcharged. It was pointed out that the service charge of 10 percent is not visually shown on the bill but is included in the total!! Will be giving it a miss in future as we like to decide the amount of tip ourselves.

Had a gorgeous romantic meal with my partner here on Friday March 25th. We had read the great reviews and were not disappointed. In Italy being too fast is considered rude. Italians like to take things slowly, especially things so important as eating. They are not into serving you fast, in some restaurants they seat you, serve you, and give you the bill, to make more money! You can be in and out within an hour BUT in Primo Amore you can tell hospitality comes first, and in true Italian tradition they do not rush you through a meal. What a refreshing change!! If you want a quick meal, in and out within the hour then this is not the place, but if you want to have a really authentic Italian experience, excellent food in a warm, relaxed atmosphere, then give this place a try!! A total gem and we shall definitely return soon.
