Having had Afternoon Tea here yesterday, I would not recommend it whatsoever. Only the sandwiches were freshly made. Total rip off for £30 per head! No atmosphere as there was no one else there! The waitress kept disappearing! Very disappointing indeed.

My wife and I stayed here last weekend after a charity ball. We had the best time . Helpful friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble, great night. Then, next morning, I had the full English breakfast, and I can honestly say perfection. How many hotels do you go to and you are plated up wet watery bacon, not here, perfectly crispy, just right. Everything on my plate was perfect. Set me up for my busy day. I did ask who cooked this and was told head chef Silvia. Hat's off to Silvia. You truly know what you are doing in that kitchen. 100 out of 10. 5 star service from Silvia. Watch out Gordon Ramsey.

Loved eating here during my stay. Don’t understand the bad reviews, the burger that me and my partner had was delicious for our dinner, and breakfast had lots of tasty options from fruit to a full English breakfast to muffins, to cereal, to croissants, etc. very enjoyable.

Limited options for a vegans and zero tolerance from the restaurant manager for additional dietary requirements. If it's not on the menu, you don't get it. The menu has one vegan starter (halloumi, yuck) and two mains. They replaced one of the mains with beans (that I can't have) leaving the overpriced plant burger with less taste than the one from Macdonald's. It's a shame that the restaurant is so poor as the spa was really good.

Fantastic plate of food, all courses. Nobody at my table had a bad word to say. Ate a few meals over the couple of days and also breakfast two mornings. Felt very good quality, tasted great. Spot on really for what I’d expect from this type of hotel. Staff were all excellent in restaurant and bar. Prices are a bit on the high side but overall very happy.

We were on holiday in one of the lodges on site so booked to eat at the restaurant on two nights as a family get together. The service was very good, but the choice of meals was disappointing. We were told as soon as we arrived that the main restaurant was closed as they were very quiet, but could eat in the bar area. So sat down only to be told the LIST of things unavailable, so for me personally it meant that I was very restricted. Having been forced into ordering a burger and fries I felt let down so decided to enjoy a dessert, but was let down again when after ordering the waitress advised one of party that the ice creams he wanted they were out of stock. That made me question her as that meant part of my dessert wouldn't be complete so asked what they intended to replace it with. The response was a shock as a hot treacle pudding with clotted cream ice cream would have been replaced by salted caramel ice-cream which I hate as they didn'teven have any vanilla! So I suggested they replace it with custard or cream which they did. The following evening the same thing happened again with the waitter advising us of a whole list of things unavailable and again still no ice cream. The only flavours available were obviously the ones people really didn't want and no attempt had been made to purchase a vanilla, or many other flavour ice cream. Even the waiter said that they hadn't made much effort to get the missing items, stating if he'd been in charge he would have sent a member of staff out to the local supermarket for at least the vanilla flavour. Having had a burger the previous night my only option was a salad! As nice as it was, it wasn't really a meal. I dare say we'll try them once more the next time we visit that area but if they haven't up their game then we won't go again.

Amazing meal at Belton woods. We're staying as part of a spa package which included dinner and breakfast. Fantastic evening meal, all three courses were to an exceptional standard and great facilities. Very impressed.

My experience was excellent. Harry and Georgia were very professional and attentive. The food, leek and potato soup starter and sea bass for main, were very tasty, filling and arrived hot. The atmosphere was great. I was impressed!

Really poor service. Really poor selection and allergies ignored. If your a drinker then your love a drinks menu being 3 times the size of the food menu. I thought I was going for food, not to support Britain's binge drinking culture. Disappointing.

We ate early so not many in the bar or restaurant but no complaints other than the bar area was on the cool side but it was minus degrees outside. Staff brilliant. Immaculately clean everywhere and decor very pleasing Twin room very spacious and beds were huge and very comfortable. Easy to control heating of the room and plenty warm enough even with the very low temperatures outside. Large bathroom with a good Shower over bath

Highly disappointed. Food was tasteless. Service by the bar staff was exceptional, however young waitress had a bad attitude - very rude. Walked passed our table with plates finished and stacked, but had no initiative to collect them.

We’re staying at the hotel for three nights so devastated to learn how bad this place was on our first night (no, didn’t have time to check Google reviews before booking as a friend did it last minute!). Service was appalling, food is overpriced and poorly portioned. Meals arrived at different times - 10 minutes apart. The highlight was the two kids starters that arrived 8 minutes apart - some burnt garlic bread and a bowl of nachos 🤣. Fish and chips is about 17-18 quid and was like a kids portion from a terrible takeaway. Breakfast was a prepared buffet which means that all issues relating to service don’t apply - food is adequate for a breakfast but things like self serve toast when the equipment is of poor quality takes the edge off the experience. All I can say is that the kids running the tables are lovely and polite - feel so sorry for them: the manager and kitchen put them in an awful position. Unprofessional restaurant that is poorly run and managed. Avoid at all ‘costs’ - literally, that’s the only thing you will be left with following the experience.

Restaurant has just been refurbished and it's lovely aesthetically. Food was lovely. Portion sizes could arguably be a bit on the small size as has been mentioned in previous reviews. The time for it to come was disappointing as the restaurant was quite empty, however there might have been other functions elsewhere putting strain on things. I was partially compensated for this however. Staff were lovely. Bigger portions, more choice on menu and shorter wait was definitely improve things but hopefully it's heading in the right direction.

I was anxious to write a negative review for a hospitality venue that could well be struggling with staff post covid, but looking at reviews from previous years I can see that my experience was not a result of the current situation. The staff were pleasant and the service was OK but the quality of the food was poor. We paid £18.50 each for a 2 course evening meal (usually £22) but the quality fell short of my expectations: a large square of bulk bought pate with 2 tiny slices of melba toast and a handful of bulk bought, heated up tortellini with a gloopy sauce. Not a great meal.

If I could give no stars I would. £4 for this portion of chips. 13 chips in total and when I spoke to the bar staff about this, they just said "yes that's the portion size". I don't mind paying for quality, but when you're paying for literally nothing, it's a disgrace

We have been coming to Belton Woods for 16 years and it has, over the last few years been going slowly down hill, this year has made me decide that we will not be revisiting the restaurant. We had to ask for a dink as the waitress were just walking past us, we received our starters before our drinks, when we ordered a Steak Burger, we was asked how we would like it, when they turned up al the same the waitress said “they are always cooked the same” she then said “speak to the management, I’m just a waitress” really careless. Since DeVere sold this hotel, it is amazing it still has 4 Stars, The whole experience was very disappointing.

Visited this Hotel with my family having come all the way from North Wales and found that the staff were very rude, when I asked a member of the staff to ask another party to keep their children a little quieter becasue I was celebraiting my mums birthday I was aksed by the member of staff if I was joking about asking them and made a very sarcastic comment, the service was also very slow given this Hotel was a 4* hotel I found the experience very upsetting for me and my party of 11.

Dirty, empty shelves, as for the restocking system, do they not know of health and safety, boxes all over the floor, pallets in the middle of aisles, plastic wrapping and cardboard on floor ... get a grip 🙄

Ordered the ultimate box but didn’t get the spring rolls. We always order these and they are normally good. Everything else was good though.
