We had a wonderful meal. I had the steak risotto and my husband had prawns and pasta. Both meals were really lovely. We would definitely go again the next time we visit Wootton Bassett

Wow! What a find! We fancied a cheeky Tuesday night out and the fish and seafood options looked good so we came along and we could not have chosen a better restaurant. The service , the quality of the food and the very authentic Italian atmosphere were second to none .we would recommend Il Camino to anyone.

I arrived mid evening on Sunday in WoottonbBassett looking for food it was one of few venues open. But to my delight had a great meal a pizza perfect for a weary traveller. I returned tonight Monday to try a pasta dish ( sea food linguine) the sauce was packed with calamari, clams and mussels The front of house were attentive but not persistent. If you like Italian food and are in the area please visit.

Fabulous authentic Italian cuisine produced and served by brothers Rafaele and Luititi. Evening service is currently the norm here, but a lunch booking was happily taken. We enjoyed mouth-watering starters of gamberini, breaded mozzarella and garlic bread, followed by spaghetti carbonara and bolognese for two of us, with scrumptious pollo principessa being the other choice. The food was prepared to a high standard, was well cooked and full of flavour. Front of house Rafaele was extremely friendly and helpful without being intrusive, and patiently allowed me to deliver our order in bad Italian with great good humour. A delectable little cake with a candle was presented to my daughter at the end as it was her birthday. The decor and ambience was very Italian with strong echoes of the brothers' native Napoli. I would strongly recommend this lovely restaurant to visitors to the area.

il Camino is a hidden gem. It's a shame this place doesn't always get the footfall that it deserves, as the food is pretty spectacular. Being nestled away on the quiet end of an already quiet town, you could be forgiven for walking past the place, but you can - and should - go out of your way to find it. The food gives you a truly authentic taste of Italy, and the staff seem genuinely proud when they bring it out to you. You get exceptional value here too, as you can typically enjoy a three course meal for a similar price (or less) to a mainstream competitor such as Pizza Express. It isn't just pizza on offer though; Il Camino has a range of Italian dishes - many of which you may never heard of. Every time I visit, I find something new. The atmosphere is intimate and calm, with Italian music often being played on the restaurant speakers. You get most of the bells and whistles of an Italian restaurant experience too: you can enjoy very decent Italian house wines, and you usually get treated to a complementary shot of limoncello at the end of your meal too. In terms of the service that you receive, I have an anecdote to share; on one particularly hungry Sunday, my girlfriend and I decided to give Il Camino a try for the first time. We turned up at approximately 4:30pm because we didn't realise that it was due to open at 5pm. We awkwardly stood outside the front trying to peer inside when the door was swung open, we were welcomed inside, and we were seated and served early! To summarise, I don't have enough positive things to say about the place. If you want to enjoy great Italian food without breaking the bank - go visit Il Camino!

We have eaten on two nights during our stay and could not fault the food,the venue and the service.The staff were great and made our evenings very enjoyable.Would recommend it and would return again.

On Friday evening I walked in to this restaurant, alone and asked for a table - I had not booked. It was frankly amazing, the food was superb, the staff made me feel so welcome and I cannot wait to go back!

Always great food, no matter what we have ordered, whether it be Italian dishes or steaks. Home made Tiramisu is a real treat.Go hungry or you might be taking some home with you.Decor could do with a make over, but prices are good.

Really enjoyed our dinner at Il Camino. The food was delicious, and the service was wonderful, a very engaging young man, Antonio looked after us and I would highly recommend this restaurant. I don’t live in the area, but would certainly revisit the next time I am here. Thankyou.

Our daughter went last week and said we should try it and we was not disappointed. Diavola pizza, lasagna, cheesy garlic bread and chips were all amazing. It’s just as good as our regular Italian in Swindon and that’s a great compliment. Servers were great and very knowledgeable. A shot of limoncello on the house rounded a great evening.

food was really good however when the girl took my money for the bill she did not return with my change, I have never had this happen before even though we eat out a great deal it spoilt the experience so i wont goback my change £7.15 i was going to give a tipbut didnt expect the young lady just to assume it was for her

We were welcomed very warmly and our table for 9 was ready. The food was excellent. One of the best Italian meals I’ve had in ages. Avocado Royale with prawns and smoked salmon would have bed. Plenty as a main course. Beautifully presented and tasted exceptional. Escalope of veal with garlic and lemon and fresh vegetables as a main was also full of favour . Several had pasta dishes and all reported that it was very good. 3 had steaks which were tender and tasty The service could not be faulted. I highly recommend this restaurant

We noticed this Restaurant whilst visiting our former home in Wiltshire. It was formerly a Pub called the Couriers Arms but is now an Italian Restaurant. We looked through the windows to see if it was open (which it wasn't at that particular time) but Rafaell, the front of house Manager came ou to greet us. We booked for Sunday Lunch I had a breaded whitebait starter and we both had their Seafood Risotto, which was absolutely divine, Rafaell (I hope I have spelled your name correctly) was the perfect host. We had not long returned from a holiday in Venice and, I would say that the food at Il Camino was better than we had in Venice. We will be back.

I rarely leave reviews, but have made the effort today because I was so impressed with our lunch. The service was excellent, attentive, efficient and incredibly friendly. The food was faultless, and we can be a fussy bunch. The group members were aged between 13 and 80, and we all enjoyed our visit immensely. This will certainly be our first choice for a meal out in RWB in the future. Well done Il Camino 👌🏻

Shhh - don’t tell everyone! This has been our second meal at Il Camino, since my in-laws moved in to RWB. Both times, the service has been exceptional - genuinely friendly, welcoming and attentive. Considering the number of other Italian restaurants, pizzerias and alternatives - there’s nothing that can come close to describe how nice the food is here. Cooked and served by Italians, with Italian hospitality and generous out of portions. It’s not the biggest of restaurants, and chances are you’ll end up needing to make a reservations, but it’s not always necessary at the moment. Prices are extremely reasonable

This used to be a pub so space is limited, but the food and service here are outstanding. I think weekends can get quite busy, but we were fortunate to visit on a relatively quiet Wednesday evening. We were both surprised at the size of our starters, large enough to be main courses. We followed this with a fillet steak for each of us which was cooked to perfection and melted in the mouth, with a good bottle of Montpulciano to wash it down. No room for desserts so we finished with a latte each. A memorable evening, and it was clear that the other diners were also enjoying their meals and the atmosphere. Go there and you will not be disappointed.

There's nothing bad I can say about Il Camino. They've only been open for takeaway due to lockdown but their pizzas are INCREDIBLE, as is the service. I'm so glad they've opened in Wootton Bassett.

The restaurant has recently changed hands and is now absolutely brilliant. They can only do takeaway or home delivery at the moment, but the food is great. The presentation is beautiful. It's so good we try to get a takeaway from them most weeks!

Me and my mum always come here whenever I'm visiting. Honestly the best food in Bassett and best Italian I've been to. Staff are amazingly friendly and welcoming and the food is just amazing. Visited friday27 Dec 2019 , greater by friendly staff nice decor great tables. Excellent choice of food with super specials board . I took my daughter for an early dinner at Bella Vita on a dark, cold Saturday night. We were greeted by friendly waiters and offered a choice of tables. I had garlic bread with cheese as a starter and my daughter had calamari - she had spaghetti, pesto and pancetta as a main and I had sausage, mushroom with fettucine in truffle-sauce. Throughout, the service was great, whilst the food was plentiful and delicious - I would certainly visit again and my daughter proclaimed it a hit!! The bill was very reasonable for such lovely food - all in all a very enjoyable dining experience.

Real italian cuisine,fresh ingredients, friendly atmosphere, good price for a nice meal. Open time Monday and Tuesday evening from 6pm to 10pm, and Wednesday to Sunday 12noon to 2pm and 6pm to 10pm. Come to try, I'm sure you back again.

Booked in to this little gem for a friends birthday treat and although I've never been here before I had heard lots of good things. We arrived just as it opened at 6pm and we were greeted warmly and seated in a quiet area as they had a bigger party arriving shortly after we arrived.

Had good diner with food, smells and friendly staff that feel 'real Italian'. More than your average pizza place! Had good bruschetta and seafood fettucini. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Compact restaurant.

Yet again we came back to try this place again and yet again amazing . We come back here now every other week on a Friday as it truly is great. This time I just had plain tomato pasta and my mother had seabass it was so tasty . Also they do special afternoon deals of £6.95 for any pasta or any pizza. We tried the pizza too as it's made with this special flour which is one of the best flour you can make pizzas with and wow wow wow being italian this has got to of been the best pizza bases ever. The pizza was so light and the whole pizza Base was like this. I would totally recommend even if someone just wanted to try at least they do, do a special deal in the afternoons of £6,95 for pizza or pasta dish . I have said to my elderly mother I will take her there every other Friday as the food is so good. It's on the high street of wootton bassett near the church . It's disabled friendly and the staff yet again were amazing.

We decided to try the Bella Vita as we were waiting for our fish and chips across the road. Wow, what a decision that was. From walking in and being met by the head waiter we started the evening off with a bit of craic straight away. Everything was just outstanding, the service always with a smile, drinks order and subsequent refills were very quick, the food was excellent (Pizza for me and Lasagne for Diane) with quite a large and varied menu and the Limoncello desert - well - to die for, just superb, in fact the one we ordered to share, very quickly became one each. We even had a complimentary drink as well. Very nice. All in all, really good, definitely go back again and if you fancy an Italian meal, you need look no further than this establishment

This restaurant is situated on the high street of royal Wootton Bassett and the head chef is an ambassador chef and has cooked for many of famous people in his time which at first I just couldn't believe even though the food was outstanding and amazing , until he showed us photos of him cooking for the Pope and other famous people . The restaurant is disabled friendly and I highly recommend it. The staff are friendly and food is cooked fresh at all times. Will definitely be coming here again

We arrived at the Bella Vita and the noise was quite overwhelming, the restaurant is very small but they had two large noisy birthday celebrations going on, I am all for celebrating and having fun on these occasions but maybe they should of told us at the time of booking that there could be a high level of noise and given us the choice to rebook . We were meeting up with friends and sat all night without conversation because we couldn't hear each other talk so gave up in the end. We had to wait an hour and a half before we had our main course which is understandable due to the large parties which again could of been avoided had we been informed at the time of booking. The food was acceptable but the evening was not as we expected.

Our first visit to Wootton Bassett, staying at a local pub who informed us that could not accommodate us for lunch and closed for evening for food, we set off to find a suitable restaurant to have a meal. We found this wonderful restaurant offering specials for the day along with a very good selection on the main menu. The food was perfect, from the starters of their special garlic bread, antipasto and salad to the mains. We will be back soon. Thank you for looking after us so well.

My wife, son and I visited Bella Vita today for lunch. My son and I had Calamari as a starter aand my wife had Parma ham and Mellon. My wife and son had Spaghetti Bolognese as a main course and I had calves liver. All the courses were very good indeed but the calves lives was outstanding. The meat was beautifully cooked, pink, tender and bursting with flavour. The sauce was magnificent! The staff was friendly and exceptionally good. Finally, the tiramisu dessert was as good as any I have ever tasted. A first class lunch and a hidden gem of an Italian restaurant. The Calves Liver must be tasted to appreciate how wonderfully tasted it really is! Well worth a visit.

Ate here on a busy saturday night, even though they were very busy the staff made every effort to be cheerful and on hand when needed.

Went with 3 generations of family for Xmas Day Lunch. The menu choice and food was excellent, with many little extras. The staff were helpful and efficient, but the Manager was outstanding and he created a wonderful festive atmosphere. One of our best ever Xmas Day meals and hopefully we can return next Xmas!

I visited here at the beginning of December for my daughters 22nd birthday. The food was great and there is a really warm and friendly atmosphere. The owner was very welcoming and he really helped to make our celebration special, we didn’t have room for dessert but they brought out a piece of Banoffee Pie (which was delicious) with a candle and sang Happy Birthday. Thank you to Bella Vita, I would definitely recommend and look forward to returning!

Visited Bella Vita at short notice with a couple of friends. We had a lovely time and enjoyed the extremely friendly service (particularly the manager) and the excellent food. Steaks, pasta and pizza were brilliant, though the prawn starter lacked a little bit of punch. Great restaurant though and definitely worth checking out!

Booked a table for a Saturday night for 4 friends. Very friendly welcome on arrival. Great selection of wines on the menu, when the waiter bought them over he gave a very interesting back story to the red wine.

This was our first visit to Bella Vita. From the minute we walked in to the restaurant the staff were friendly and welcoming. A very comprehensive and varied menu. The food was excellent in presentation and taste. Excellent attentive service, Rossi the manager made our visit special, with his friendly personality and magic tricks, that he used to entertain our 6 year old grandson and the adults. We plan to visit again later this year for my birthday. I recommend lovers of Italian food and great service to book this restaurant.

We have often visited the Bella Vita as a couple because the food is superb, service excellent but not intrusive, and all round value for money. Nothing new for our latest visit in that respect, whitebait and steaks cooked to perfection. I have heard from friends that they have been disappointed, not by the food but by the noise from large groups, and on this occasion we had that very problem. The building is an old converted pub with low ceilings which actually gives a great atmosphere under normal circumstances. We chose a section of the restaurant where just two other couples were seated as we were looking forward to a quiet meal. Part way through our starters disaster struck; a group of five (two women, three men) walked in without a booking and plonked themselves at a large table next to us. Every time one of the men spoke one of the women talked (shouted) over him at high decibels, the other woman looked embarrassed and said very little. Our quiet evening out was ruined by one person with no social skills, and for this reason I have marked down the value rating as there is nowhere to express this issue. This problem could be resolved in future by the management rearranging the tables such that one half of the restaurant is laid out for couples, which caters for most of the customers, and the other half for groups.

We popped in quite late on a quiet Wednesday evening and were made most welcome. A great choice of food and wine, prepared to perfection, and really tasty. Good service. The decor could be improved, but overall, a really nice dining experience.

We visited on impulse last week. I can't eat wheat and the restaurant owner was great about telling me what I could and could not have. The food when it came was fantastic. I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant. The price was very reasonable too.

The food here was really good last night but the Gavi (Italian white wine) was beyond description. It would be worth a detour just to taste this outstanding wine. I thought I had tasted Gavi previously - but this was like nectar. There were a couple of reviews on here which disturbed me but I need not have worried. Saturday night and no loud music. My husband and I had used this restaurant before at lunch times and early evening. Last night, a Friday, it was completely different. For a start it was busy, no problem with that, Wootton Bassett needs successful restaurants, but acoustically it was incredibly loud with voices bouncing off everything from floor to ceiling. They have a wooden floor, no curtains at the windows and no soft furnishings to deaden this noise. However our waiter was in good spirits and the Italian background music was pleasant. Our food was Okay but suddenly the whole atmosphere changed and Geri Halliwell was blaring at us at nightclub volume and this continued to the extent that we missed our dessert, coffees and drinks and paid up and left. An hour later when we passed, this unbelievable volume of music was still spilling out of the windows and into the street even though the restaurant was now empty. Even the twenty-somethings we were with were surprised. It will take a lot to entice us back sadly.

What a great afternoon out not only was the food amazing. We had entertainment by Rossi the manager. He gave us such a warm Italian welcome. We had singing, tips on Italian cooking, as well as a visit to the kitchen. This was our second visit to the restaurant and we will be returning soon.

An okay option in Wootton Bassett. Pizzas were fine, staff were friendly. Open on Sunday evenings, unlike a lot of options in the area.

Last night my husband and I thought we were going to Bella Vita to have a meal with our two daughters, to celebrate our golden wedding. We were totally gobsmacked when we got there to a group of friends had taken the time to come and celebrate with us. We had a fantastic evening, thanks in no small part to the staff. They did everything possible to make our evening special. The food was fantastic and the manager was such a showman, singing and engaging with everyone- I think he had as much fun as we did! All I can say is if you want to have a celebratory meal with great food, choose Bella Vita.

After visiting our child's school fete and deciding against the more predictable food fair of the local pubs ..burgers ..fish "pieces"..we decided to try Bella Vita - What I really loved is that there is no "children's menu" featuring deep fried food, but rather choose the main dishes and we just make them smaller ....more restaurants take note - our child eats what we do ..just smaller portions!! The quality of the food was very good - good quality pasta - not the usual supermarket taste; amazing fresh baked bread wth sea salt and slight taste of rosemary. Very attentive servers ..possibly a little too attentive..at one point we had 3 people around our table - it was just after 6 to be fair it was quiet.

We decided to invite our friends and family for my wife's birthday and, of course, the chosen restaurant had to be Bella Vita. Everything was brilliant, starting from the very warm welcome (Rossi even knows us by our names ) , the attentive service at the table and the beautiful Italian atmosphere all around. We opted for various choices from the menu and they had no problem with that at all. The food was good and tasty (after the meal we thanked the Chef for that) and our guests seemed to have thoroughly enjoyed the experience at Bella Vita topped by the brilliant service rendered so professionally by Rossi, Monica and the team. The end of the meal celebration for my wife (people still talk about it) was second to none with the whole room joining us in the Birthday singing. All in all, a beautiful memorable dinner. Thank you all at Bella Vita and it's incredible host Rossi. We recomend Bella Vita to everyone looking for a really good Italian restaurant in the area.

This is a very popular restaurant, but don’t bother on a Saturday night if you want a take away... we were sent away empty handed as they were ‘too full’ with restaurant diners to take any other orders...

Pizza bases not cooked well. Nothing like stone baked. No interest from manager when obvious that we had left half the meals. Don’t bother.

A typically welcoming Italian restaurant which was a bonus. It was nicely busy but the staff were attentive. The food was wide ranging and of very good quality. We sampled a range pizza, pasta, vegetarian, chicken, lambs liver... It was very very good. My only comment would be the amount of veg on the meat dish was a little pitiful, particularly for my 100kilo rugby player of a man. We would order a side next time. Good value.

My husband and I were looking for a decent Italian meal and we most certainly found one!

First visit to this restaurant for a family birthday and we will certainly be returning. Absolutely gorgeous food, competitive prices and fabulous atmosphere. Staff very welcoming and helpful and neither the service or meal were rushed. No complaints whatsoever and looking forward to our next visit
