Bella Rosa in Hertsmere

We were a party of 4 spanning 3 generations. The children’s menu is pretty good considering the price. A pizza almost large enough for an adult and more than a match for a 5 year old. It was tasty too. I had the lasagne which was equally tasty and very filling, I almost wished I hadn’t had the crispy whitebait starter to make room for it. At around £120 for 3 adults and many drinks it was fair value for a pretty good dinner and service.

Booked this restaurant last weekend by calling and speaking to a staff member, confirming table for 4 @7.15-9.15pm. Arriving tonight within 5minutes of our booking, we were met by we believe the manager asking for name of our booking. He looked a little puzzled and asked how I booked to which I confirmed. He preceded to ask when I booked it, how I booked it, who I spoke to, did I confirm it. Said he called but I didn’t call back. I checked my phone, the only missed call was from a ‘No ID’ caller and no message was left!! He was quite aggressive in his manner. He then offered us a table, to which one of our group sat down at. I asked him if the table was there why he questioned us in that manner. To which he replied ‘I don’t have a table but what can I do I can’t throw you out!!!!’ My friend said to him that he felt he was being a bit rude. To our shock the manager then said ‘in which case I don’t have a table, Goodbye!’ and turned his back walking away in a temper. We told my friend who was already sitting at the table that we had to leave, honestly by then we didn’t want to stay!! I was left open mouthed, all of us reeling in shock at what had just happened. I was also really embarrassed as I had booked this restaurant for us all. I’d heard mixed views about this place but thought we would try it as it was local enough for us all. I could never have imagined how we would be greeted and treated in such an appalling way. If this was the manager it doesn’t bode well for the rest of the team. I will never return here and will be telling all about the managers totally uncalled for shocking behaviour - Beware!!!

Wow where to start, well I just want to Thank You for ruining our Valentines day. Food had to pay for something I didn't order or eat. Staff where pushy with drinks menu, then straight after want your order, then constantly interrupt while your eating but as soon as they see u stop eating they avoid you, NO mention of a Set menu when reserving online or NO mention of a service charge, lovely starter, but why ask how u like your steak, if you don't get what you ordered? only to be belittled by a waitress who can't tell the difference between a medium steak or a Blue/Raw steak?!(Which is NOT ITALIAN) by the way. I will Never recommend this restaurant as I left feeling sick from the blood on my plate, with No reduction from the bill when I eat a quart of my main and it was RAW. I would give ZERO stars but u can't.

We were looking for an authentic Italian restaurant and found it here. The service from beginning to end was outstanding, Rishap looked after us and was an amazing server, no request was too much, even bearing with my husband's jokes. The food was heavenly, we had the fettuccine vegetali, margarita pizza and vegetali pizza, all were scrumptious. The decor is simple but warm and elegant with comfy chairs and flowers around the restaurant. We all really enjoyed and can't wait for our next visit.

As Italian restaurants go,you'll be hard pressed to find better.

Come here for lunch on Saturday. They have a lunch offer for two or three courses. The food was lovely and well worth the money, the staff are absolutely brilliant. I would highly recommend this place for Italian food.

I moved to Bushey a few years ago and have driven past this restaurant so many times, but had never been there. Went today for lunch with an elderly friend and her granddaughter and it was really great! Two courses for £13.99 - the food was really excellent, very well presented and the portion sizes really good (too much in fact!). Special mention to the young waitress who served us and was an absolute delight. She knew her stuff and was really welcoming, helpful, friendly and efficient. She was very proud of working at Bella Rosa and I hope they are very proud to have her! Will definitely be adding this restaurant to my list of regular eateries! Thank you!

Every time we go we have a lively experience the food is varied and delicious . The drinks flow easily and staff are friendly , what else can you ask for. They are always busy so book ahead.Also they are well priced on the menu for quality food.

Superb and relaxed ambience in a spotless restaurant. Excellent variety of authentic Italian dishes. Wonderful staff - special shout out goes to the lovely polite Irish waitress and also to the Italian waiter. Owners are also extremely friendly. Cannot recommend highly enough. 10 out of 10.

We visited this restaurant earlier this week for my daughters birthday. We wanted to try a different Italian to the usual ones we’ve visited and Bella Rosa didn’t disappoint. We had a mixture of dishes but would definitely recommend the aubergine starter which was delicious! The service was good and it had a lovely dinner atmosphere

Never had a bad meal in this restaurant 😋 staff are very friendly and has a great atmosphere. Food is delicious and is currently one of my favourite 😍 Their meatballs are very tasty and pleasantly surprised by their spag bol.

Every dish was delicious, limoncello spritz was luscious (not too sweet and quite punchy), and the wine recommendation by Kamil was banging. Service was top notch by him, and everything was so excellent. Would come again (10/10).

We celebrated my husband's 70th birthday here with lunch for 21 of us. The restaurant was full, but we were given excellent service, especially by Alana, our lovely smiling waitress. The food was absolutely delicious, all our guests were very complimentary and thoroughly enjoyed their meals. Genti was on hand all the time and nothing was too much trouble. I would highly recommend this restaurant for anything from a quiet meal for two to a large celebration. We love going here.

We went to celebrate our anniversary with the family and we had a lovely meal. The staff, Alanna, Rishi and Jade looked after us well and were very attentive to our needs and requests. A lovely atmosphere for all ages. Definitely recommend a visit.

My wife and I revisited Bella Rosa for an early dinner. We both had the pollo alla crema which was excellent, freshly cooked with roast potatoes. The atmosphere was warm and friendly, the staff, Chris, Rishi and Jade, efficient and capable. All in all, Bella Rosa is everything one could want from a local restaurant. Highly recommended.

Partner and I dropped in for lunch en route to a relative-in-hospital visit. So glad we did. I had the caprese to start; she had the garlic flatbread. Both excellent. For mains: linguine di mare and linguine polpete. Lovely, and substantial portions. Delightful young serving staff, especially the young lady from Ireland (don't know her name but that should identify her!). Apparently they've been open six years so survived Covid lockdowns, which they fully deserve to have done. £13.90 each for two courses - well worth it.

Great food, really delicious, hence the 5 stars. They did forget my son's order a couple of times and the waitress seemed annoyed I reminded her. Other staff were much friendlier and even came to the table to redo my friend's cocktail smoke bubble, so she could take a picture before it popped.

My father celebrated his 80th birthday at Bella Rosa with a fabulous lunch for 40 friends and family. The space was large enough to mingle before being seated and the staff accommodated a delayed start as many attendees were stuck in traffic. The food and wine was delicious and incredibly we were all served together which is simply amazing by for such a large group. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Bella Rosa and will return again. Grazie mille!

Was walking past with my sister today, saw a sign outside for lunch menu (2 courses £13.50 M-F) We went in & so glad we did, the food was fresh, plated beautifully & was so delicious. Bruschetta was fresh, crisp & full of flavour, main was POLLO MILANESE with spaghetti Napoli. This was a large chicken breast crisp outside & soft in middle with beautiful pasta. I cannot explain how tasteful this was, it was devine all for such an amazing price. I glanced at the main menu it was fabulous, I will be going back for an evening meal. I live 45mins away but it well worth the drive, for such authentic Italian food like this. Staff are wonderful, they couldn’t do enough for us. Also they offer GF pasta which you can ask for. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting authentic Italian food.

Our third time here...and consistently good. Particularly the seared tuna and calves liver. Shared hors d'oeuvre of aubergines in delish tomato sauce. And topped off with terrific afogato.(vanilla ice cream sprinkled with ameretti biscuits. ... .espresso coffee and ameretto liquer to pour over yourself. Hmmmnnn.👍👍 2 glasses of wine.....and a comfortable bill, including tip of £82 And lovely happy service.

Update: First time back here in a while. Food is still very tasty, but the portion sizes leave a lot to be desired. The desserts in particular are tiny portion sizes and quite expensive for what you get. Might be time to freshen up the menu too. Service still good, staff friendly and attentive. With so much choice around though not sure this is now top of our list when looking for a meal out in the area. Original review: Always great service here and the food is of a good standard. Seems to fill up quite quickly in the evenings so worth booking, but they have always tried to accommodate us when we turn up unannounced.

Wow what a find!! A friend booked this for the first time last month & I was so impressed I’ve now booked the next 2 birthdays here! Starters - there is meatballs & an amazing sauce under the picture! Mains was the best flavour of Risotto I’ve ever tasted and a great “British” pineapple pizza! 😆 Dessert tastes as good as it looks. We also kept looking at everyone else’s food as it came out coz it looked so lovely. Staff are super friendly & decor is on point 👌🏻 You’re in luck if you find a parking space right outside on the high street. If not - try the side roads or there is a car park Approx 300m walk away.

I have just visited Bella Rosa, and I have to say their food is world class! I regularly visit Italy as my sister in law is Italian, and the food I had today is as good as what I eat when I'm in Italy. The linguini di mare was exquisite, as was the goats cheese salad and the oyster mushroom starter. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. All in all, a beautiful meal at a very reasonable price! As I live locally, I'm looking forward to visiting again soon 😀.

I am a regular customer. The staff are friendly and the menu is very good. My granddaughter has a lot of allergies, and they went out of their way to cater for her and made sure there was no contamination in her food. They also had gluten free pasta for her. She really appreciated not having to worry like she usually does at restaurants.

Had a big argument with the owner as he was not happy for us to share the dishes . When we asked for extra plates, he exploded and in the end he said in a very rude way not to come to his restaurant unless we order one dish per person. All the staff very friendly and were prepared to give extra plates for sharing. Food was good
