Bella Napoli in Glasgow City

Picked here for our monthly lunch out, staff were welcoming as we all arrived. They don’t have a lunch menu, so everything is off the a la Carte menu. Drinks quickly brought and our pizzas arrive fairly soon after. Star taken off for the next bit, one of our company asked for a no cheese pizza, guess what he got. Quickly taken away when fault discovered. Everyone was finished by the time his arrived. Food was great, the service was good, but a bit pricy at £28.00 a head for a pizza, a soft drink and a coffee each. Possibly why it was a bit quiet at lunchtime.

Staff were great. Well, most of them. Helpful and friendly. We were celebrating important family occasion. Advised Oro of this at time of booking but nothing mentioned, or noted about it. Bill was over £300 so a wee nod for celebration would have been appreciated. Food was lovely. Just way too expensive.

Absolutely over priced £17 for a pasta dish !! Just pasta on its own 2 hard bits of Garlic bread £6 WON'T BE BACK!!!!!!!!!!

Ordered a takeaway for collection, we were there early and told that order was not ready. We were asked to move to a separate area and assumed that someone would advise us when our order was available. After 20 minutes asked a waitress if our order was available, she said she didn’t know, on turning around she looked in the counter top heating unit and pretended to put our order in a paper bag, but was obviously distracted as she then had a conversation with her colleague, leaving us waiting even longer! When she eventually gave us our order, I asked her how long it had been in the heating unit and said “I don’t know”. The food was cold, we had to reheat the pizza, congealed pasta and chips that don’t reheat. Service awful, reheated food at best below average, chips in the bin.

Firstly I want to say the food was delicious and service was perfect, even with how busy it was we could not fault this part. My family and I have come here a lot but after attending on hogmanay for dinner, I dont think we will be back. Everything was going well until we received the bill. Maybe this was partly our fault but we asked for 1 bottle of sauvignon blanc no options where given in terms of kind or cost we wanted, they just brough it to the table. We ordered another bottle and was brought the same type. Upon receiving the bill we shockingly found that they had given us the most expensive bottle on the menu at just under £50 per bottle. The 2 bottles came to almost the same price as the meal. I will definitely rethink where to go in the future. Over priced for sure.

What a thoroughly enjoyable evening. From the minute we arrived at Oro, we were greeted and treated very well. The starters were hot, tasty and plentiful; stringy mozzarella sticks, meatballs in an amazing sauce and XL mussels, which were soaking in an incredible sauce. When it came to main courses, the staff member gave us recommendations, which were fab - pizza, Milanese and carbonara #2. We thought the wine was quite pricey but it was a special night so it was ok. The best part of the evening however were the staff, they were numerous, always engaged and super friendly. We couldn’t finish all the meals so some of our group asked for their leftovers to be packed up. The ever helpful woman came back with the boxes but there was a misunderstanding and the pasta had been binned. She was mortified and 5 minutes later came back to the table with a small boxed up newly cooked portion to go. Staff amazing and food fantastic…….. and no where near as expensive as we were told. Thank you ORO.

Absolutely Awful! This was the worst experience of a restaurant in many years! My meal tasted of salt and nothing more! My partner returned their meal twice and ended up having nothing! The service was good but attitude of the management was disgusting and it was as if it we were in the wrong! Never again and definitely not recommended!

Police called! So four of us, all adults, visited Oro on Friday night. Unfortunately, my wife's carbonara was heavily salted and she couldn't eat it. It was returned intact. My wife shared pizza, etc, with the others present. We were surprised when the bill arrived and a £16 charge was present for the meal returned. We reminded our waiter (who was lovely and fully understood) that one meal had been returned, and she left to speak to a manager. She returned, saying they would not be removing the said £16 from the £300 total. Well, I'm not paying for it, I said. Two additional managers came saying they would not remove the £16. Manager #2 said he was calling the police and went to the centre desk to do so. Eventually, evening ruined, the £16 was finally removed. Meantime, Oro lost a £45 tip for the meal and our future custom.

Increíble almuerzo con miembros de la familia. Llamé a última hora para reservar y tenían una mesa disponible. Entorno realmente maravilloso. Cálido y cómodo con personal muy atento. Amplia carta en oferta. Bebidas llevadas a la mesa en 5 minutos y comidas en 15 a pesar de estar ocupado. Mucho personal para que todo funcione a tiempo. Comida de alta calidad y presentación. Han sido muchas veces y altos estándares consistentes. Lo recomendaría.

Los controles de alérgenos no se siguen e infringen la legislación. He estado comiendo aquí durante varios años y desafortunadamente esta será mi última vez aquí, durante el año pasado aproximadamente he pedido artículos específicamente libres de alergia y me han servido artículos normales hechos de trigo. Es triste que el equipo directivo, se desentienda como un saco roto, mientras tanto estoy mal durante días. Personal y siempre amable y educado y las comidas son siempre encantadoras y bien presentadas. El precio es un poco alto para la zona, pero ya sabes que cuando pides así que no me molesta. Los controles de alérgenos no se siguen lo suficientemente bien y simplemente no puedo correr el riesgo de enfermarme de nuevo. Estoy muy decepcionado de que haya llegado a esto.

First class service, food and ambience. We made last minute booking and were delighted with the extensive menu and speedy and efficient service. Not the cheapest but well worth the money.

Pizzas used to be really fresh and delicious, now they are wet and sloppy with too much sauce. Specially the amount of cheap garlic sauce and cheese they now put on their BBQ pizza is pretty disgusting

Salty lasagne I wonder about the chef's tastebuds I really do. Food was not piping hot as it should always be. Dour faced waiter serving us. I will never return here.

Walked in on a Sunday night without a booking and luckily got a table. Defo the worst table in the restaurant- but we didn’t book so can’t argue! Service was good at the start, attentive and quickly took drinks and then food order. Drinks were nice and the food was great. Mussels were a lovely starter and then the diy pizza and seafood pasta were delicious. Service became poorer later into the meal - wanted to order a 2nd round of drinks so asked. First person seemed to forget us so we asked again, another lady forgot us. It was busy - however, we asked twice and then about 30 mins later decided we were just gonna pay up and get a drink somewhere else! Good food, service just could be polished.

We had a great family meal out at Oro - the service and food is excellent - kids favourite place to go “the best pizza and pasta in Glasgow!”

Four adults and two lively little ones, (one with allergies)....each one of us enjoyed the experience. Generous portions...my Sea Bass was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. The children enjoyed their pizzas....Wine kept in an ice bucket and attentively topped up. A busy place, but the noise level was not intrusive., and it didn't feel cramped. Staff very helpful, professional. Parking spaces on the main road sparse, but available. I also liked the fact that the children were not given crayons and colouring sheets...so, it really was a family meal...talking, sharing little bits for "tasting". My older grandson, (8), said "I really like it when we all go out together for a meal". He was fascinated by the pizza oven and the chefs spinning the dough. A "keeper" for Glasgow visits.

Food was nice, but prices are pretty ridiculous compared to other excellent Italian restaurants in the city. What really irritated me was as family of 4 ordered 2 portions of bruschetta. We were told each portion has 2 pieces but when it arrived it was just one piece per portion. I called over the waiter and he then said he had got mixed up and the garlic bread was 2 pieces. At £8 per 1 piece of bruschetta it was shocking. No apology or offer to get more and I certainly wasn’t going to spend £32 on 4 pieces of bruschetta. The owner could perhaps crack a smile now and again-seemed to be in a mood! Nicer Italian restaurants in city centre and west end.

I'm absolutely appalled by the fact they are using a machine to make you cappachino or flat white. Pressing a button that's that! Shocking!! Losing the Italian heritage straight away... I had to send my coffee's back 5times in 3 visits explaining coffee is cold or doesn't taste right. Why on God's earth wouldn't you use a member of staff to make coffee the traditional way?? This is supposed to be up market Italian restaurant... Why are they using machine to make coffee... Even l complain about my pizza saying its to thin.. Even for a thin pizza... The waiter said he'd ask the pizza guy to actually roll it out instead of "machine" yet again! I'm shocked that such a great place would even allow this kind of thing to go on. Please will you stop using machines and actually use staff to make coffee.. Science and skill behind everything. Customers like coffee done catered to their own needs and like... Dominic yiu are the owner and please keep things done the traditional way. Your losing respect by customers. This seems and lazy and uncaring way.. Customers like things done the normal way. I’m disappointed that my grandmother wasn’t allowed to make a booking on the telephone. She isn’t able to do internet due to poor eye sight. It was my grandfathers birthday and they wanted to surprise him on his big day. This company seem to have forgotten that our elderly are how we are all here today. We won’t be returning to this restaurant again.

Went here today for dinner. Could honestly be the best pasta and pizza I have had. I would say the first time I have had bolognese close to my nonnas. Will be back. All the servers were very attentive! I hope all tips given via the card machine are given to the staff. Keep up the good work!

On arrival, my husband and I and our friend were greeted by the scowling manageress who couldn’t see our booking and was sceptical that we had one….we showed her the confirmation email. The owner/manager bloke wasn’t very welcoming either. We felt as though they were irritated that had to deal with customers. After being told to ‘wait here’ eventually we were shown to our table. The waitresses were efficient but hardly interacted with us. Seemed disinterested. My ravioli was nice. My husband’s Puttanesca Milanese was weird. A perfectly round piece of chicken which exactly fitted the large plate….we reckon it was minced chicken flattened out, with some breadcrumbs on top….none underneath. Not a breast of chicken but minced. The sauce wasn’t very good. The ‘music’ was so loud and made it virtually impossible to hold a conversation without shouting. All in all - the ‘welcome’ was appalling, the servers efficient but seemingly just doing the job and no more, the food disappointing. We won’t be back.

Visited this restaurant with family . Very good dishes and a wide variety . drinks were good and service was very good would definitely recommend and be visiting again next time we visit Glasgow

Came here with my boyfriend for a late valentines dinner and was not disappointed, the food was amazing and all the staff were very friendly would definitely return. Went for a family meal as it looked very nice and someone recommended it. Food is ok nothing special, service is not to bad, prices are RIDICULOUS for what you get and location. £7 for a hand full of hand cut chips? Really! I dont mond paying for good food and service and there was none of that. The door was open the majority of the time so it was frezzing! The guy and woman that seem to run it, the guy was pleasant enough but the woman is shocking, if i worked there and she spoke to me like that when customers can clearly hear you should be ashamed of yourself. I’m so disappointed. Normally the food from Oro has been amazing and the pasta we ordered for takeaway has been. However we ordered chilli oil (1.95) and got given oil with some chilli flakes and paid £6.40 for the smallest cheesecake slice I’ve ever seen. Although an excellent takeaway normally, for £43.30 I’m absolutely gutted. Hope this is a one off.

The staff were exceptional. From the moment we arrived until we left, they were faultless. The food ordered was to very high standard. Our second visit and cannot wait to return. The ambience in this very busy restaurant w as outstanding. I felt as if I was in Italy. Congratulations to all staff. They made our night. Well Done 👍

After being let down by another restaurant last night we called Oro and were delighted when they could squeeze us in on a very busy Saturday night. Food and service were top notch as always. Should have gone there in the first place!
