Bella Italia - Norwich Riverside in Norwich

Went to Bella for dinner with a friend, Exceptional service and amazing food!! Runner named Lily was so accommodating and checked back on us throughout the evening. Food wait wasn't long at all.

I came here for the bella day as one of my friends was called Isobel. The service was really good ! A little shout out to Alessia who was really friendly and welcoming. Overall the food was delish ( I got the spinach and ricotta cannelloni) and I will definitely be coming back here and getting it again !! Was also such a bonus we got £100 off our order which was the cherry on the cake :)

The restaurant was short staffed, and very busy. Only two servers between a full ground floor. I felt sorry for them running around but we received our food in good time and it was superb. A couple of the other tables around us were rude to the staff even though they got their food in good time too - so I don't know what all that was about. The service was great from all the team. Thank you for a lovely meal.

We arrived at 8:15pm as a group of three. We were acknowledged by a young man with ice creams in his hands who smiled and said ‘be with you in a minute’. A few minutes later a lady with bright pink hair and tattoos came over and asked if we had booked, when we said that we hadn’t, she rolled her eyes and shook her head as if we were an inconvenience. She said, you will have to wait, it’s been really busy and she needed to clear the tables. At this point, I would have walked out from the rude greeting, but the rest of our group agreed to wait. We sat at the bar and ordered drinks. The man at the bar was very polite, he served our drinks and our table was ready. I needed to use the facilities, which are a walk through the restaurant and upstairs. I looked around and there were at least 5 empty tables and the entire space upstairs was free too! We ordered food, the waitress was friendly. Whilst we waited for our food, a family with small children came in and asked for a table. Pink haired lady told them it would be a half hour wait. They didn’t wait and they left. (There were spare tables, and even more so as people had payed their bills and left). Food was served by the pink haired lady who practically chucked it on the table. Now to the food, my partner had the carbonara, it just looked like spaghetti in a pool of melted butter or oil. No sauce! The pizza was dry and did not look appealing. I had the pollo Cacciatore, I started to eat it I noticed it had been mixed with spaghetti, which put me off as it looked as though it had been mixed with a leftover meal. I could not eat it! At 9pm another couple walked in for a table and pink hair lady told them the kitchen closes in 10 mins. Again, turning business away! I was very surprised by this, especially with it being a bank holiday weekend. Surely, they would be prepared for more customers. Clearly not something the pink haired lady wanted. She just seemed like she wanted to close early and go home. Business hours are advertised as being open until 10:30pm. This was our first experience at a Bella Italia and sadly, this experience will mean we will never visit again!

Appalling service. 45 minutes wait for 4 pasta meals on a quiet evening which were cold on arrival. Unfriendly staff.

I hadn’t been to Bella Italia before, a friend forwarded us the Bella Day offer as our daughter is called Isabella. I went with no great expectations, I was blown away by the friendliness of the staff, the level of service we received exceeded my expectations. The offer itself was incredible, our £102 meal cost us £2! I’ve told everyone about it and recommended you to everyone. A fantastic marketing tool as we will 100% be returning!

Bryony really looked after us. I can highly recommend her service. I have worked in food service and run my own restaurants and bars. I would hire someone like her in a heartbeat. Amazing service friendly and attentive. The food was excellent and service with a smile. She pointed us to the app and offers that were available and has definitely made us repeat customers we will be back.

It was my first marriage anniversary and Bella italia made sure it was amazing. Loved the food and ambience. And Alexia was super sweet and amazing. She co-ordinated to arrange a surprise tiramisu for my husband and we really loved her gesture.

Went in for lunch with friends to celebrate my birthday. Staff were lovely, when they found out it was my birthday they came out with a desert with a candle in and gave us all shots. Food and service were excellent and Staff very friendly.

Myself, my mum and grandma recently visited here and the food was amazing we went for the 3 course set meal and couldn’t fault. Our server was called Chelsea she was amazing, very polite and helpful. Would recommend

Me and my partner visited Bella Italia on the whim during the easter holidays and were delighted that there was availability. We were served quickly and there was a good range of food including pastas, burgers and pizzas and mocktails aswell as cocktails. Our waitress Bryony was lovley and attentative and helped direct us to the best discount for our meal. Overall great service and great food

I'll save you some time - go somewhere else. If you want to know why: Fairly empty restaurant, lots of servers but food took 45 mins to arrive. Wasn't asked once how the food was. The food was cold when it arrived, pizza was slightly better than a reheated Domino's. Me and my girlfriend both have belly ache. Asked for bill 3 times, took 25 minutes to get us a card reader. Black spots in tap water. May have been pepper? (don't want to know!) Staff were unfriendly and incompetent, wandering around aimlessly, didn't take our empty plates away. One guy seemed nice but I just felt sorry for him. Terrible service, mediocre overpriced cold food, waste of time and money, AVOID. PS see the picture to see the black stuff! Let's see if we can figure out what it is. Haha

Lovely Staff great cocktails enjoyed 2 for 1 cocktails out side in the sun. Really nice restaurant.

We arrived without making a booking and lovely Chelsea welcomed us and made my daughter's 15th birthday very special. Calzone was amazing!

Used some Tesco vouchers and found in other BI restaurants the service has not been as attentive when they know it is voucher payment. Service was great, friendly and helpful all though. Reuben and Ryan in particular made sure we had everything we needed and were chatty and helpful.

Huge and somewhat soulless place. Food was no better than average. Welcome was as chilly as the establishment, food took ages to come even though it was very quiet. Avoid.

George and Harrison were absolutely fantastic and really went the extra mile to make sure our visit to Bella Italia - Norwich Riverside was as special as possible. Having them both recite the specials in two part harmony was really creative and although they became distracted and started arm wrestling vigorously to see who would be crowned “Prince Bella” (their words) at the table next to us, the effort was still appreciated. Chef Ramoné (head chef) continues to toss up some of the most exquisite pasta in Norwich, and we really appreciated him hand-delivering the food to our table and taking pictures with us and telling us about the “old country”. What else is there to say except bellissimo! and avoid eating here at all costs.

Restaurant was cold, water came with hair in it, child starter cucumber and pepper old and wilted, main (marco polo past) had no spring onions, tiramisu like eating glue, no server came to ask if everything was ok. Will not be returned

Wait times for food drinks abysmal, at least 3 tables walked out in the time we were sat waiting for our food to arrive which was cold then got re done took another hour and was still cold. We did get everything for free in the end without complaining or asking which was nice (wouldn't have paid anyway). However, this isn't a problem with the staff yhst work there they were all friendly and well trained. Just makes your feel sad watching them work in a doomed environment. Independent is obviously the way forward these days hopefully chains like these will continue to decline and close and it truly was horrendous experience. Quality and ingredients for the price is abysmal.

Awful , wrong pasta on my dish so i presume they had ran out of the correct pasta , charged for 3 meals on a table of 2 , took 1 hour 40 mins to bring out mains , shit beer , list goes on and on 🙄

Our server Megan (with the pink hair) was absolutely amazing. She was rushed off her feet but still managed to give us the perfect level of service. The food was delicious, couldn’t fault it. I have deducted one star because a 10% “optional” service charge was added to the bill, even though the receipt says this is only added to tables of 8 or more and there was only four of us. Unfortunately I didn’t notice this and it wasn’t pointed out.

Nice waitress was excellent and couldn't do enough for us. But your getting sub standard food at relatively high prices. Support a local Italian restaurant rather than the chains

Had a lovely dinner out at Bella Italia yesterday. The food was great and the atmosphere and decor made it a really nice place to go for a date night. The staff were all fantastic, particularly Bryony who made us both feel really comfortable and made sure we had everything we needed. Lots of options on the menu too!

Our server Bryony was lovely! very friendly and helpful! Food was decent and the place was nice and cozy inside, we didn’t have to wait long for our order although it was a little busy.

When travelling with work, dining alone can sometimes be a little daunting but Bryony gave me a very warm welcome and then when I asked she provided some very good menu advice. The 1/2 pepperoni pizza was cooked very well and the 1/2 salad was plentiful. Great value on a Tuesday too via the app. offers.

libby was extremely kind and sweet, the best server ever. super understanding and was willing to explain things for us as i had dined here for the first time. libby is a very positive individual which elevates the atmosphere in this restaurant. the food was absolutely brilliant would definitely recommend.

Went here for a quick bite to eat before we went to the cinema next door, the waitress came to take our order. Drinks first, no issues there, then food. When I asked her what one of the pasta sauces was she told me to Google it. I asked her if she could just go and ask someone in the kitchen she finally reluctantly did. She really didn't seem like she could be bothered at all to be there. We got my boys starter reasonably quickly but then waited for around 45 minutes before we asked where the food was. We were told by someone who looked like management that they would go and see and let us know but he disappeared and never came back. So on asking another waitress she had found out that the order hadn't been put through after the starter was bought out. We only had 20 minutes left at this point until our film started, so we said we would have to leave it. Unfortunately a few pizzas and a child bowl of pasta was all it was and you would have thought that over an hour would have been plenty of time, especially as they had only just opened. They still tried to charge us for the starter of garlic bread and water that we had while we were waiting instead of offering to waive it as a gesture of good will. Very dissapointing but it seems that basic training and teaching the staff the menu isn't applicable here.

Atmosphere was a works outing...so our own table. Staff were nice took orders quickly and Served in a reasonable way. The food was ok....spaghetti carbonara...not as creamy as I like it but did the job. Price kind of standard for a meal out. All ok no complaints.

As a group of 8 this was our Christmas meal out. We pre booked from the Christmas menu so our food choices were already known to the restaurant. The food arrived and was mediocre at best. Main courses were not very warm and not particularly appealing. Our desserts were either tepid or completely cold when cookie dough shouldn't be and the sorbet was just frozen ice. The service wasn't great and the restaurant it's self was really cold. No Christmas cheer and not a Christmas cracker in sight. Really disappointing and I doubt very much any of us will be racing to go back. So in a nutshell........ Don't waste your money!

First of all service was amazing! Chelsea was amazing! I came out to eat after having a really sad and emotional day and the way Chelsea treated me so kindly with such a lovely and sweet cheerful energy. It was everything. She made a difficult day for me end with a positive evening. The other staff were lovely too you have a great team. The service was fast too. I didn’t wait long for my food at all. Even though the team was great I need to highlight that Chelsea really does stand out because she’s so sweet. Her kindness wasn’t just to me, I could also see the way she interacted with the other customers sat near me. She was just so lovely to everyone. She had the biggest smile too. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Really friendly, clean, comfortable and excellent food

Incredibly slow and it wasn't a busy evening. Ended up losing our bowling booking even though I allowed a hour and a quarter for the meal. Just sat around waiting. Wouldn't visit again.

A warm welcome, advised that there might be a short delay with the food as there was a party of 30 upstairs. In fact the food was served as I would have expected. The food was good and price acceptable.

Came on a spontaneous evening out with my wife. We were served by a woman called lobby who was both chatty and completely professional the entire night and really made our evening special.

I love nostalgia - that coke ad at Christmas, the feeling when you hear an old song on the radio, the taste and feel of a tepid, stodgy bland early 1980's school dinner....oh, hang on, wait a minute, that school dinner... I'd rather have been served mashed potatoes from an ice-cream scoop and lumpy custard than ever have to eat here again.
