Bella Italia Milton Keynes in Milton Keynes

We use this restaurant when we go the the MK theatre and enjoy the food. It is busy before and between performances. For the second consecutive visit we have been told they have no Pino Grigio. It’s a popular Italian white wine and we are in an Italian restaurant. Get more in! Enjoyed the service and food, always consistent.

I was disappointed with my visit to Bella Italia in the theatre district. I was quickly shown to my seat in a fairly quiet, but well-lit restaurant. The menu was placed in my hand and the greeter left. I was immediately approached by the server wanting to take my order, I'd barely had time to open the menu, but ok, 'keen', I thought. The food was all delicious and really quite good value for money. My food was delivered so fast after placing my order, that if I didn't know better I'd have thought it was from someone else's table! Unfortunately, that's where the speediness stopped. When he took my plate away the server asked if I'd like to order dessert. I told him that I'd not chosen yet and could he come back in a couple of minutes. He returned 42 minutes later!!! I'd chosen a hot chocolate and mini donuts. The mini donuts were unceremoniously thrown in front of me a few moments later, but the hot chocolate took nearly 15 minutes to arrive. I was seated so close to the barista that I was able to watch him make it, but also I was able to watch it sit on the counter and go cold, while two servers sat at the pass, chatting - yet sat - on the counter top/cabinet that stands in front of the pass! Only when the barista realised I was watching all of this, did he signal to them for one of them to deliver it to me. I watched servers repeatedly hanging out at the pass and chatting. Whilst it was a very promising start with prompt service and great food, sadly the service went from one end of the scale to the other and was dreadful by the time dessert was ordered. Getting my bill was another ordeal entirely and I virtually had to leave the restaurant almost before anyone got my bill. I decided that being a lone diner perhaps I became invisible as the restaurant filled up - this is no excuse though. To top it all off, there was a fly buzzing around my food for the duration of my time there!

Such a lovely meal, staff were very welcoming and pleasant. So busy in there on Friday and we still received service and our food very quickly. All 4 of us went for 3 courses and they had a deal on that was very good value for money for the amount of food we had. My favourite was definitely the dough balls starter but everyone agreed that the food was lovely. Would definitely go back!

Early Sunday evening for a pre theatre meal. A scruffy young lad showed us unenthusiasticly to our table. When he came to take our order I was informed the Fanta orange zero wasn’t zero. It needs to be changed on the menu, if this is the case. I think they must have been short of lettuce as my Caesar salad only had a few leaves and left me slightly underwhelmed. The side of roasted new potatoes were quite firm and I’d say slightly undercooked. 5-6 scruffy staff young board staff hung around by the serving hatch , one swinging a small gadget around his finger was a slight distraction. Won’t be my first choice when I next come over to the theatre.

Recently visited and had the pleasure being served by 'Arif' for lunch. I asked if we could sit outside which he had no problem cleaning the table for us and setting up the one we wanted immediately. Throughout our meal he was so polite, friendly and helpful and even made some recommendations that were so worth it, making our meal better. He even offered to grate some extra cheese on my pizza if I wanted! Could not recommend enough all thanks to Arif.

Great food and service by Michaela and Ahit , spinach and ricotta dish was absolutely amazing Definitely would come back for more!

Don't bother visiting this restaurant if you have an allium intolerance or allergy. You wil be told that all pasta or pizza items will be off the menu for you and what's left to choose from might be doubtful as well. This from an Italian restaurant that says it serves freshly cooked food. So cook a dish without onion? Apparently not.

We eat here regularly. We pick this place as they have vast and great gluten free options. Unfortunately this time around the gluten free penne pasta was very hard. I had to return the dish. The chef said that they are unable to get it any softer and It was bought to my attention that the supplier has recently been changed. The dish was swapped out for me by the lovely manager and the sea bass was amazing. It's a shame that if this pasta is not changed it will ruin all of their gluten free dishes when every other aspect and ingredients are cooked beautifully.

Started off ok but everything went downhill rather quickly. Starters were mediocre at best. Half of my groups mains were forgotten. After waiting 10 minutes the rest of our food went cold, we then asked the waitress where the rest of the food was. It hasn’t even been cooked. Another 20 minute wait which really ruined the morale of the group as we had planned a night out. Lasagne was a poor two layered attempt at a main meal. Pasta was ok. We continued to chase up our meals, where some of the waitresses seemed very unbothered. 30 minutes later the rest of our meals arrived. Cookie dough dessert arrived cold and late. Toilets had no toilet paper and no soap in dispensers which was not ideal. Not a great start to our night. Won’t be coming back.

Went for lunch as a little last minute with my partner. Was served by the lovely lee he was very funny and very attentive to our needs. The food was absolutely stunning and would highly recommend the seafood pizza. Will be coming again and again

Lovely dinner with lot of options, very friendly and polite staff. The prawn pasta is delicious. Worth the visit if you visit Milton Keynes. Plenty of vegan and gluten free options are available.

Warm and friendly service from our table host, Joshua, who was friendly, attentive and efficient. Great menu with wide choice of dishes. Our meals were served promptly and were delicious.

Booked a table for 5 for 5.15 as we were going to the pantomime at 7.00. We arrived on time but no table for 5 was available. A waiter pulled together 3 tables of different heights. One of the tables was filthy and we had to ask for it to be cleaned. There was an empty table for 6 next to us but it had not be cleared and there was rubbish and food waste underneath it. Waited for 25 minutes but nobody came to take our order so we walked out. Seriously understaffed and chaotic.

Visited with my husband before going to the pantomime. I had booked a table as had a feeling wpuld be really busy and I'm glad we did as restaurant was full. Was taken to our table and didn't have to wait too long before our orders were taken. Service was quite slow unfortunately but staff were friendly and food was good! Would reccomend if you are going to theatre give yourself plenty of time! We gave yourselves 90mins and finished about 20mins before show due to slow service. Worth a visit though just allow extra time

I arranged for a family dinner before the theatre, having visited recently and been pleased with the service I received. Oh dear! That was not our experience this time! The service was slow and disorganised, despite being asked for a pre order and deposit, which I supplied the week before, they had trouble finding my email, then proceeded to serve the table next to us who had arrived 20 minutes after my family and had ordered from the al a carte menu!! We were unable to eat our desserts as we ran out of time and would have missed the start of the show. To complete the evening, they had not taken our deposit off the bill so more time was spent sorting that out! All in all, a very disappointing and stressful visit, we won’t be rushing back!

Seated fairly quickly as we had a booking. When we sat down and waited 15 mins for someone to take our drinks order. Then another 10mins for them to arrive. Told waiter one drink was missing (3/4 in total arrived). Waiter continued to serve other people. Had to go up to the bar staff to get the drink served. Food arrived but was for another table! Then when our food arrived it was attempted to be served to table behind us. Food was average. The whole visit was slow and staff were disorganised. Lack of management really shows.

We had a fantastic visit. After having a really bad experience in the other branch (mk1) we had not gone to Bella Italia in 2 years despite having over 70quids worth of vouchers which expired in July 2023. We arrived early and was sat straight away by the friendly lady at the front. The other gent soon came over to serve us while the lady found us a table which was amazing (worlds apart from MK1!) Then our waiter, the young lad with black short curly hair was extremely attentive and professional. There was a slight delay with our mains but he kept us up to date completely and even offered us some drinks as a gesture. Honestly, the team here are great and i'd definitely strive to have a team as seamless as this if i ran a restaurant. Thank you, we will definitely be back here sooner than 2years!!

Let me first say that the service was fine but that's all. The food was overpriced and bland, a mild tomato sauce. I ordered a chicken pasta and found four slivers of chicken, portions were small too. As for the beer, well, what beer, it was lager or nothing. Why no real ale or at least a bitter or pale ale. and nearly six pounds for a small lager and even more for a small glass of wine. I shan't go again

Awful experience amongst at least four other tables of unhappy customers. Took 45 minutes to order drinks! Food was very quick but was then given a fork (by the manager) from a dirty table that hadn’t even been cleared! 40 minutes after clearly finishing our mains, I had to ask to speak to the manager about the awful service. He had unfortunately gone home. Terrible service. All staff too busy setting new tables, one waiter doing his best to keep up and was polite and helpful but was trying to keep up with all customers!
