Bella Italia in Milton Keynes

We came in for dinner on the 29th October. The food was great. We were served by a lovely young lady called Jay. She was polite and made sure we had all We needed. She made us feel very welcome Would recommend and will be back again.

Bought a triple chicken pizza which was okay. Came with a free bolognaise as part of an offer which would usually cost £14 so that was fair BUT for an Italian honestly the WORST bolognaise I’ve ever tried it was basically bolognaise flavoured pasta… 99% spaghetti and a faint bolognaise sauce basically no meat. Again…. Worst bolognaise I’ve ever had in my life. You are basically paying £14 for a bowl of spaghetti.

Ahhhhhh.... how i love this delicate place! When i enter i feel a welcome that is like no other! The staff make me smile... and giggle to myself hehe... i need to come back! My neighbour is Alex Pollard and this has been my story! Plus ultra!

Bella Italia has been my fav restaurant for years and this one is no different. The food is absolutely amazing! The spaghetti bolognese has been my go to order and I love it every time.

Came in at the weekend for a bite to eat and was immediately greeted by a server called jay who was absolutely amazing throughout the whole evening she made sure our food was perfect and that we were given the best service ever had to leave her a tip 10/10 would defo pop in here again.

i had Jay as my server last time i went and she provided excellent, swift service. the food was amazing and affordable as well as the restaurant being clean and having a wide variety of food for different types of people.

Amid the rush from the theatre this was a welcoming retreat. We were shown to our table in the outer conservatory type structure with IR heaters. Our waiter - Arif - promptly took our order and delivered them quickly and efficiently, our only criticism the desserts could have been hotter.

Always a pleasure going here, Atmosphere was great. My go to carbonara always hits the spot definitely recommend it if you don’t know what to get from all the mouthwatering choices. Now onto the service nothing but the best, Jay was an absolute legend hand down one of my favourite servers. The food came on time, very friendly while taking our order, and has a great work ethic. Friendly staff, Asif our waiter was very efficient & friendly . Nice atmosphere. Food was poor - vegetarian pizza hardly had any veggies on & was served only warm. Sticky tables which were very off putting. Didn’t stay for dessert as wasn’t impressed with food quality overall.

We use this restaurant when we go the the MK theatre and enjoy the food. It is busy before and between performances. For the second consecutive visit we have been told they have no Pino Grigio. It’s a popular Italian white wine and we are in an Italian restaurant. Get more in! Enjoyed the service and food, always consistent.

Pollo Cacciatore pasta had a lot of tomato taste. Pizza for its size is pricey and was a bit rubbery. Didn't feel authentic

Came during lunch time and got a window seat. The service was so great and the food came out so quick. First time trying Bella Italia and it was really good, would definitely come back again!

I was disappointed with my visit to Bella Italia in the theatre district. I was quickly shown to my seat in a fairly quiet, but well-lit restaurant. The menu was placed in my hand and the greeter left. I was immediately approached by the server wanting to take my order, I'd barely had time to open the menu, but ok, 'keen', I thought. The food was all delicious and really quite good value for money. My food was delivered so fast after placing my order, that if I didn't know better I'd have thought it was from someone else's table! Unfortunately, that's where the speediness stopped. When he took my plate away the server asked if I'd like to order dessert. I told him that I'd not chosen yet and could he come back in a couple of minutes. He returned 42 minutes later!!! I'd chosen a hot chocolate and mini donuts. The mini donuts were unceremoniously thrown in front of me a few moments later, but the hot chocolate took nearly 15 minutes to arrive. I was seated so close to the barista that I was able to watch him make it, but also I was able to watch it sit on the counter and go cold, while two servers sat at the pass, chatting - yet sat - on the counter top/cabinet that stands in front of the pass! Only when the barista realised I was watching all of this, did he signal to them for one of them to deliver it to me. I watched servers repeatedly hanging out at the pass and chatting. Whilst it was a very promising start with prompt service and great food, sadly the service went from one end of the scale to the other and was dreadful by the time dessert was ordered. Getting my bill was another ordeal entirely and I virtually had to leave the restaurant almost before anyone got my bill. I decided that being a lone diner perhaps I became invisible as the restaurant filled up - this is no excuse though. To top it all off, there was a fly buzzing around my food for the duration of my time there!

Such a lovely meal, staff were very welcoming and pleasant. So busy in there on Friday and we still received service and our food very quickly. All 4 of us went for 3 courses and they had a deal on that was very good value for money for the amount of food we had. My favourite was definitely the dough balls starter but everyone agreed that the food was lovely. Would definitely go back!

We dined here with our two grandchildren last night. A gentleman named Arif did an exceptional job in welcoming us and making sure the children had what they wanted. Customer service and attention to detail was second to none. Thank you Arif

Pre theatre dinner didn't book but fitted us in easily. Food was lovely and bonus they have a 2 or 3 course set menu with many dishes in it which is great value

Early Sunday evening for a pre theatre meal. A scruffy young lad showed us unenthusiasticly to our table. When he came to take our order I was informed the Fanta orange zero wasn’t zero. It needs to be changed on the menu, if this is the case. I think they must have been short of lettuce as my Caesar salad only had a few leaves and left me slightly underwhelmed. The side of roasted new potatoes were quite firm and I’d say slightly undercooked. 5-6 scruffy staff young board staff hung around by the serving hatch , one swinging a small gadget around his finger was a slight distraction. Won’t be my first choice when I next come over to the theatre.

A pretty Italian restaurant with a nice atmosphere. Lovely staff and service. Recommend the gamberoni and the spicy sausage pasta.

Wonderful food with amazing service.

Recently visited and had the pleasure being served by 'Arif' for lunch. I asked if we could sit outside which he had no problem cleaning the table for us and setting up the one we wanted immediately. Throughout our meal he was so polite, friendly and helpful and even made some recommendations that were so worth it, making our meal better. He even offered to grate some extra cheese on my pizza if I wanted! Could not recommend enough all thanks to Arif.

We had such an amazing experience at the Bella Italia in Milton Keynes. I am gluten free and dairy free and I was blown away with the amount of things on the menu o could eat. They even had cookie dough for dessert which I polished off very quickly. The service was exceptional from the moment we stepped through the door and the lady that served us called Rebeka was amazing. She was knowledgeable, attentive and so friendly. It’s been a long time since we have had service like that. We will definitely be going back.

We was out for a family birthday We sat down and restaurant was empty for a Friday night. Ordered the draft beer to be told its not working and had to pay more for bottled beer. 1 starter came out undercooked fish, second cane out as if it was just chucked on the plate. When shown to staff we was told myn was how they serve it, even my dog wouldn't be served that. The un cooked one we was offered it to be recooked. We decided on the service and food with in 10 mins of being there enough was enough so paid for the drinks we had then found another restaurant to eat Would we go again No Would we recommend No

Was welcomed by Xin, she was very helpful in helping my partner with his food allergy and gave options to what foods he can and can’t have. Overall was very happy with our food and the excellent speed of service. She did very well ❤️🥰 :)))

Quite nice for what we paid. My starter of garlic prawns was really perfect. Could not have been better and I eat plenty of this fish. My partners main course of risotto was also superb. I had sea bass and roasted potatoes. It was OK but could have been better if the fish was pan fried with a crispy skin. Just seemed a bit wet.

Pre theatre bite to eat. I don't live here but had memories of a previous big birthday here with friends years ago. Thought I'd try again for old times sake. Friendly welcome as we hadn't booked. Seated in the conservatory but too warm so I asked to move to the main restaurant. Found a better table. I only had two starters as wanted something lighter, both came within a reasonable time and were nice enough. Friend had a main meal and enjoyed it. They grate the cheese with their bare hands which I don't like for hygiene reasons so I declined cheese on top. The vibe was nice and I like you can see them cooking in the kitchen. Short walk to the theatre also. Overall a nice evening and food.

Arif went out of his way to accommodate me even thought I was being a very awkward customer. Special thanks to Arif. Food is delicious and service is magnifico!

My friends and I dined here on a Wednesday evening having pre-booked a table in advance via their website. We were attending a show at the Theatre nearby so the location was convenient for us as it's right near the MK Theatre. Plenty of (paid) parking nearby. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere but the seating is comfortable - hard wooden chairs. We ordered a variety of starters, mains and desserts and all agreed that the food was poor to mediocre at best. The pollo cacciatore was not very pleasant - the pasta was overcooked to the point of being slimy / mushy. My Tiramisu portion was very small considering full price of this is around £7. We utilised a Tastecard discount for 2-for-1 on starters, mains and desserts. I would have been disappointed had I paid full price for this meal. Overall, whilst the location and service is very good - the food is very poor and there are definitely better dining options in the vicinity.

Portion sizes were very small. For starter had small crispy chicken fries with only thin 6 strips. Main course was Lasagne. It was a very thin layer. Left the restaurant hungry. Went home and had to eat again. Not worth for the money spent. Will I go there again? Nop!!

Great food, fantastic, attentive and friendly service from Scott who happily accommodated our various menu adaptations and spotted that our eldest loved the garlic butter with the starter and offered some more for him to have with his mains.

The food was speedy and absolutely delicious! The staff were friendly and checked up on us regularly. Xin was great because she made a good laugh or smile and was overall just very friendly.

We eat here regularly. We pick this place as they have vast and great gluten free options. Unfortunately this time around the gluten free penne pasta was very hard. I had to return the dish. The chef said that they are unable to get it any softer and It was bought to my attention that the supplier has recently been changed. The dish was swapped out for me by the lovely manager and the sea bass was amazing. It's a shame that if this pasta is not changed it will ruin all of their gluten free dishes when every other aspect and ingredients are cooked beautifully.

Well placed venue in Theatre District Milton Keynes, also very convenient for City Centre shopping. Staff were brilliant, and the food tasty and served nice and hot. The only downside for us there was only a handful of people, this was on a midweek visit so no atmosphere. The place comes alive on theatre nights, as well as weekends. Would recommend a visit.

Pros: Free glass of prosecco for Mother's day Mains arrived in a reasonable time with 2 servers, so all arrived in 1 trip (loved this) Quiet lunchtime visit, 6 servers seen and over half the tables empty. Enough to give great service without being rushed. Clean toilets that had classical music playing. Nice selection of cocktails and mocktails, large selection of non alcoholic drinks. Cons: Food not arriving with no communication from staff, so was waiting til my meal started going cold before just going "ok, I don't think it's coming." GF Pasta was undercooked and still hard, clear it was dried pasta and not freshly made. Dessert ticket was missed (was in ear shot of the kitchen collection area) and took 25 minutes for x3 cookies doughs to arrive, needing me to ask at 20 minutes with them only being made at that point. To clarify; it wasn't busy just poor service forgetting customers exist. Summary: Only go for drinks, the pasta isn't fresh, staff don't communicate delays to you, don't bother with dessert unless you wanna pay for another hour of parking.

Great lunch time experience. Good food, good service, nice restaurant, convenient location. Usually fuller with more atmosphere, but no matinee at the theatre so not very busy.

{this was on a Saturday evening} We were sat for half an hour and had our starters before our drinks. Food was nice, but the ribs can be hit and miss. Dirty and sticky table. Sticky floors.

The staff were all so friendly and helpful even though the restaurant got busy before the Matinee performance at the theatre. A set menu being offered on a Saturday was brilliant as that's so rare and the choices on it were great.

Had a really great meal. I would highly recommend the Calzone and Cookie Dough. And the atmosphere was really pleasant. Just a little let down with the service. Desserts did not come out together and a drink was handed to me over a rail and not table service. Minor things, but they make the difference. I would go back.

Under staffed, not the same as it used to be. Food is a let down. Vegan cookie dough used to be delicious until you changed it now tastes very oaty.

I visited with my family before we went to the theatre for dinner. The table was sticky and the toilets were dirty. We ordered our drinks (2 cokes and 2 beers), but this took around 25 mins to come due to running out of glasses. We were told they were going to go round to find some dirty ones. Our food arrived 40 mins later, the pizza wasn’t hot. I ordered the chicken burger, upon my first few bits of the burger, I noticed that the burger was still pink. Our waitress reaction was a bit odd, more laughing it off but obviously I wasn’t very impressed. I’m glad that I hadn’t eaten enough to cause any issues but has definitely put me off. I was offered something else but we didn’t have the time to wait, so they did try to rectify their mistake.

Food was bland and a bit oily, but I suppose standard for a chain italian. The atmosphere was good, lots of happy families/couples. Restrooms and table clean. Service was not great, starter and mains were put through at the same time, so half way through starters the mains arrived. Waitress did not check on us or offer more drinks at any point, had to flag her down to ask for the bill.

Dirty restaurant, dirty toilets, dirty cutlery, sticky table, horrid food. Salad was off. Had to send it back. Had the cheek to charge me for the food that I didn’t eat. Will not be returning. Poor on all levels.

Stood at the door waiting to be seated whilst they chatted away. Then asked if we would like to sit at a dirty table. Just plain rude. We left. Some of the seating areas were very close together as well.

Zero atmosphere. Really disappointing pizza - which for an Italian is embarrassing. Do not order the chicken wings - they were grey and looked as though they'd been 'cooked' in the microwave. It was the only restaurant on the strip that had loads of tables free and had no wait, and now we know why.

Awful service, overcharged and the waiter who was called Alexa made someone from our party cry after arguing with us and being rude and denying the bill was wrong. Eventually went back to check the bill and admitted they had got it wrong! After all that.. honestly shocked with this awful behaviour.
