Bell E Buon in Northumberland

What a fantastic find. The food, atmosphere and service were amazing. Real friendly ambience and authentic tasting Italian food. The owners and staff are very attentive, it was like having a meal at home, good conversation and great banter. We will definitely be back , thankyou for a great night .

We had a lovely evening at Bell e Buon. We were a party of 12 and the chef and waiting staff did an excellent job. The food looked and tasted great, including really good pasta and pizzas, antipasti and other starters. We had a wide range of choices and every dish lived up to expectations. This is a little gem and deserves to succeed.

Amazing little find. We stumbled across this place last week while out for a wander and had breakfast (which was really good). We spoke with the chef and found out he was from napoli so just knew we had to come back to get a pizza and we booked for an evening meal. These were some of the best pizzas we have ever had. All of the staff are so friendly and welcoming and the food was beautiful. It’s easy to miss this place but it’s a real hidden gem and we would highly recommend. We will 100% be back. Thankyou :)

What an amazing little hidden gem this restaurant is. The food was unlike anything we have eaten in the UK outside of eating in Italy. We had a calamari starter and meatball starter. This was probably the best calamari we have had anywhere . The meatball starter was just right and a full of flavour sauce. The pizza and pasta were as good as the starters and the best we have eaten outside of Italy. This really is an amazing little restaurant with excellent staff and an extremely talented chef.

Awesome little Italian. They had some seafood specials on (seafood soup, calamari, langoustines) which were cooked to perfection. Staff always really friendly here and great value prices especially for the quality. Deserving of its awards.

This is a really great basic home-cooked Italian restaurant with friendly staff. It's always busy and you need to book. Their specials are always lovely. Quality food at a good price.

One of the two best lunches we had while walking Hadrian's wall over 9 days. The food was authentically Italian. The staff was kind and gracious, service was prompt and friendly. Although we all ordered different kinds of food - pizza, pasta, and chicken - everything came deliciously prepared and at the same time - the chef knows what he is doing! Dessert and coffee rounded out the meal for three hungry travelers who were super appreciative of the warm welcome.

my wife and i had dinner on saturday and to tell the truth it was a bad experience 2 people working ,we were sitting next to a table of 4 people who complained about a dish they didn't like it's a waiter queso lo youngest he was rude he is very offensive to customers expressing their opinion and this waiter kept expressing with very bad attitude , we are customers not slaves to him , I will never go back

We stopped off to visit Hadrians wall enroute to our holiday and were blown away at the quality of the food from this little restaurant. We all had different meals and each one was very special with fresh ingredients and cooked perfectly. If you are in the area you won’t be disappointed.

This place. Modest though the venue may be, the food is outstanding. Unbelievable. If you find yourself in Heddon-on-the-Wall, don't miss it.

Called in for a quick coffee with a view to returning at some point for food. Service was extremely slow, we waited over 20 minutes for our coffees , despite there only being one other family eating, and we had almost finished these before our pastries finally arrived despite taking our time (no napkins provided and only one spoon between 2 people). We almost got up and left at one point the service was so slow. No prices on any of the pastries and on paying we were charged £24 for 2 coffees a croissant and a brownie with a scoop of ice cream! Had the price been displayed we would never have bothered. We had waited so long by this point we just wanted to pay the bill and leave. Needless to say we won't be returning for food. Update The reply from the owner has unfortunately been deleted as part of the process with tripadvisor to allow an update but I wanted the opportunity to reply. I appreciate the apology for the slow service but wanted to point to out 1) if you checked your cctv as you say you did, you would see there were no napkins or spoons available our table. By the time we got our coffees we just wanted to leave as the waiter was totally disinterested in serving us and wandered off 2 or 3 times whilst making our coffees. 2) whilst there were prices on some of the items on top of the glass display cabinet, the items we bought did not. 3) you seem to dispute that we paid £24 for 2 coffees and pastries and said they should have been £15 and you had proof of this. I have attached evidence that we did in fact pay £24.30. I am disappointed you chose to dispute this fact and didn't offer a refund for the incorrect payment. 4) you dismissed our comments stating that we had only waited a bit longer than usual for our coffee. We waited a very long time, had terrible service were overcharged and received quite a flippant reply to our review. I do not call that good customer service. 5) You stated in your reply "I think this review is not genuine and false" I can assure you it is a genuine review from a disappointed customer.

This may seem like a friendly Itlaian bistro in our village with a typical looking menu. It certianly is that but in fact its more than this. The dishes the Italian Chef produces here actually taste fantastic -even the most basic dishes served here taste delicious by any standards. Yes the menu seems full of standard "UK Italian" dishes but the flavours rival most places in the area. Add to this reasonable prices and very friendly staff -its a gem!

Went here for a family occasion. Great food, good friendly welcoming staff. Good selection of drinks. Pizzas were lovely. I’ll defiantly be back.

I had heard good things about Bell e Buon and when we visited in early February we were not disappointed. The food was excellent (we tried some of the paninis and a pizza), the staff were welcoming and friendly and the atmosphere was lovely. The bistro is smart and stylish. We'll definitely be back.

Visited the Bell'EBuon deli and bistro to find myself in an authentic italian place. From the cousine, the amosphere to the great waitering service, it is definetely a must-try for heddon locals to visitors alike.

A gem! Biagio serves authentic Italian cuisine. The menu is enhanced with some delicious specials. My husband had the ravioli stuffed with lobster and a side salad while I had the salmon. The addition of a deli to buy Italian food products is a great bonus. We will be coming again!

Been here twice now and will definitely come back again. Both times we have been for an evening meal. The food has been excellent and served by happy and friendly staff. Also very reasonably priced. This is just what Heddon village needs. It’s a great place to be able to walk to when staying in the village.

We visited twice in December for lunch and were impressed both times, nice atmosphere, friendly staff and good food.

I had the best Calzone pizza I have ever had there today, so fresh and extremely tasty, lovely helpful staff. It has just open recently and I wish them the best of luck, try it out, you won’t be disappointed

Friendly staff and good food. Very reasonable prices. Fod came quickly and freshly prepared. Will definitely be back to try their pasta and pizzas.
