Went in to get out of the poor weather for tea and cakes. It's not a big place and was quite busy but it was well run and the server allowed us to substitute tea/coffee for hot chocolate on their specials menu. Reasonably priced for what we had

Really good meal only place in Lyme Regis where you can get gammon steak and lasange.

Tried the Lasagne today and it was lovely, plenty for me and my lovely lady , would definitely recommend this place to eat out ,👍😋😋

Brilliant! Great service, very accommodating for my gluten free requests and lovely views. The breakfast was delicious and my boys ate everything on their plates! Can't wait to come again. Such amazing service the lady let my little boy sit wherever he wanted as he wanted a window seat! And treats for the dogs! Our last holiday breakfast was one to remember thank you xx

The food was quite poor. I had fish and chips. Frozen chips, frozen fish, and some peas. But the staff were friendly.

We had the biggest,nicest breakfast of our lives here Sat, and they do NOT scrimp on the mushrooms like most places! Jane and the other lady had a good banter with us as we were quite lively 🤣 honestly could have stayed for ages,its lovely and clean too. 5 stars all the way plus dog friendly 😍 xxx

Absolutely loved this place! It was such a refreshing change to find a restaurant that did lovely simple food - I was spoilt for choice. I have dietary issues ( low fodmap) so find the majority of cafes and restaurants do complicated meals, elements of which I cannot tolerate! My husband thoroughly enjoyed his ploughman's too. The staff were so friendly and helpful, it was a pleasure to eat here.

Lovely quaint coffee shop! Went the extra mile for the dog with treats and water. The cream tea was the best I’ve had in Dorset (and ever!). Large portions and delicious lasagne.

If you like, soggy Toast with partially scrambled eggs-then this is for you! Plus the bonus, is a warm tumbler of flat watered down Coca Cola, and all for £14! What a bargain......

Popped into the Bell Cliff yesterday afternoon for a well needed cuppa. It was quiet so we decided to indulge in a High Cream Tea. Tuna & cucumber sandwiches with 2 scones, Jam & Cream with a pot of tea. Absolutely lovely! Could'nt ask for better. Best scones I've ever had. Nearly crisp texture on the outside and beautifully soft and light in the middle. 10'*s for the cream tea! Most scones I've had are dry and heavy. Sandwiches filled with a healthy helping of tuna & cucumber. I've had cream tea at the Castle Hotel Taunton and have to say ....they were'nt as good! so a well deserved shout for the Bell Cliff's cream tea...keep the standards up.:)

Been here twice, the second time with my hen group, staff were fabulous and friendly and loved having us there, easy going and relaxing atmosphere, its now my favourite place to go for scones, they even let us switch out the pot of tea for lattes at no extra cost. We will be back in the summer and I can't wait 🥰

Staff were unfriendly and had no manners . The place is dated and filthy . The crockery is filthy. Nothing has been cleaned in a long time. I would not recommend to go anywhere near it.

Stopped here for tea and coffee with my wife's parents. Very small bottles of sparkling water but the hot chocolate looked nice.

I received a warm and friendly greeting. It's a lovely setting. The food (breakfast) was delicious and the service was first class. The one and only thing that spoilt it for me, was the member of staff, who just stood on the stairs (between the two levels) and watched me eat. I have worked in a pub/restaurant before and there is always something to do....even if it's just wiping down the tables (again). It made me feel uncomfortable. Its a shame really because everything else was great.

Fantastic cafe, lovely cosy interior. The crab sandwich and pint was just what I wanted. If I have to be critical: the beer was too cold (personal preference, I like my ale closer to room temp), and the crab was more of a paste - unlike other sandwiches I have sampled along the south coast that have lumps of crab in them.

Dropped into Bell Cliff Sunday, late morning for full brekky. So hard to find somewhere for a good hearty breakfast out of the cold while walking the dog, most other places offering coffee and biscuits etc sat under brolleys and awnings. Met by very friendly and efficient staff, nothing was a problem, food served quickly with a proper china pot of tea. Breakfast was cooked very well thank you, nice mushrooms, lovely eggs etc. Attentive staff cleared table and were very friendly to our dog offering a treat, so we all felt welcome. We spent £28.50 with a tip. Definitely dropping back into here for morning walks. Thank you. The cafe is full of character with it's wooden beams and floor. A traditional British cafe, good value, great location. 👍

Great little cafe just off the beach, right by all the attractions. We sat at a window looking at the fossil shops and the sea which was very wild today. Lovely food, great quality and portions were perfect. And the staff couldn't do enough for us happy to chat and tell us information. Coffee was great as well. Thank you for a great breakfast x

I've been a non meat eater for 35 years and this was easily the best veggie breakfast I've eaten in that time!! My wife had a gorgeous prawn sandwich. Service with a smile and a bill that didn't break the bank. Would highly recommended.

Great food and prices. The plates are huge though!! A little cramped in terms of seating hence marked down for atmosphere. Great waiting staff

Good tea, cream,and jam. The scones were not my favorite. The coffee was a mite expensive and just okay. The atmosphere was not great, but that was due to some extremely loud folks with children making so much noise in the small space. It took an unusually long time for us pay to the point where I had to stand in the middle of the pathway and flag someone to pick up the card reader and let me out of the place.

Brilliant breakfast, quick and efficient service from friendly staff.

Very impressed with the service received at Bell Cliff. We had eaten there before about a year ago when on holiday in Lyme Regis, and while visiting again this year we were overheard staying how we would probably have lunch there. The owner offered to reserve the prime outdoor table for us if we wanted it, which we did, and all in all it was another memorable experience. Food was lovely with gluten free catered for. Looking out to sea while eating our lunch on a glorious blue sky day was perfect. Amosphere just like before was great. Wouldn`t hesitate in going back for our next visit.

Great cream tea at the end of the day, and they even went to hold the bus for us. What service!

Christian served us and he was absolutely amazing! upped the products so much and was so happy being there and told us how much he loved his job, let us try products before buying and had so much information about each one! definitely recommend! the food was absolutely spot on as well!

The worst fish and chips I've ever eaten. 😫 Please don't waste your money. We are there today but the staff were running around like headless chickens that we couldn't get there attention. When we paid they were so busy trying to seat me customers that they didn't even make eye contact 🙄

Came here on a school trip, and was not disappointed. The food was gorgeous, the service was faster than light and the hospitality was outstanding. Definitely would recommend and I will definitely be back soon.

After a rather challenging guided fossil walk it was such a relief to find a friendly comfortable restaurant for lunch with fabulous service and tasty options for vegetarians and vegans. Jayne kept the kids entertained and was lovely to all of us. Highly recommend this lovely cafe for visitors particularly in large groups.

Good seafood in a nice little cafe. Probably avoid eating outside as the seagulls are vicious. But the prawns and crab sandwich were excellent and the service was lovely.

Just Had a delightful afternoon tea at the Bell cliff, cheese scones with cheese and pickle, delicious. The staff were just lovely very efficient and friendly, they even bought a little dish of dog biscuits for our dog, would definitely recommend.

Cozy tearoom with charming dining rooms building is 16th century and gets its name from an alarm bell that once hung there. Cream tea was nice with several vegetarian options.

The food went down since we've been last. It used to be our go to place for breakfast everytime we came to Lyme Regis. Such a shame

Nice enough place but if you order a latte then be aware it is made from a machine and tastes sweetened and a bit grainy. It does say this on the menu. Personally I couldn’t finish mine which was a shame given the price (£5.75 for coffee + toasted tea cake)

Been to Lyme so many times...first time here ..it was the rain and the wind that drove us in but the menu caught our eye. Friendly and accommodating staff,great atmosphere with history....the views from the window are great. The home made soup was out if this world...the best Mushroom soup I've tasted in a long while🎉🥳🎉 came with a huge chunk of tasty warm bread with plenty of butter and a cheese panni which I was not expecting which was lush,no cheap plastic cheese.Tasty mature Cheddar....5 stars‼️

Our family of 4 visited the Bell Cliff restaurant today. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. Me and my wife opted for tea and a cake, and our children both had kids meals. The food was good but maybe a little bit pricey as it come to £33. On another note, try to avoid sitting by the back door. The staff are back and forth using this door to take food and drink to there outside seating area. The door was constantly being opened. My wife and daughter kept feeling cold.

Excellent food and the service was great. Best hot chocolate in Lyme Regis. Jayne was an excellent server. So good we came here twice for breakfast in the week we were here

It was a special birthday lunch for my wife. Not only was the food, hygiene, location, service and decor brilliant, but my wife has a phobia about toilets these where modern, with no obvious pipes. A place we would happily return to. Well done to all involved.
