These guys have been here for 30’s its a family run restaurant their food is amazing the Servuce is great!

Me and some friends dined here and it was great, service was amazing food was very tasty and for London the prices were very reasonable I would highly recommend 👍

Usually love this place, but probably our last time going. Food took over 40 minutes to get to our table. They definitely prioritise deliveries over people sat in the restaurant and I could see other tables also waiting for ages and looking restless and hungry. Asked twice for water, never came and I just gave up. When we asked if it was possible to pay by card the waiter snapped at us and told us to wait, like we were children. Lectured us on waiting and letting him clean up. Then started slamming the plates together as he tidied up. Asked what tip we wanted to give, we said no thanks. Asked if we wanted the receipt, we said no thanks, told us to 'take it'. Pft , strange attitude and won't be coming back, shame cause we used to love it!

Missing items. Asked to return and pick up myself. Finally delivered, but rest of the food cold by then.

Edit: because I can’t reply to the restaurant. There was an active choice made to not provide good or helpful customer service. I have never experienced a restaurant screaming down the phone at a customer. And we asked to pay extra for someone else to deliver, but this was not accepted by the restaurant until over an hour later, by which time the food was cold, sitting out and our guests were nearly heading home. This was my favourite curry house for years with excellent food. However, I have had such a disgraceful experience tonight that I will never go back, and I recommend that others follow. We were only delivered a small part of our order. We waited for over an hour for our second part to come. We spent nearly an hour on the phone with the restaurant, who were rude, obnoxious and uncaring. They brought my partner to tears by screaming at her on the phone that it was her fault. We asked if we could pay extra for them to send one of their own drivers and they refused, but an hour later called us to say they could do it, after the food had been sat out and was cold. We never got our food, and my mums birthday was ruined. Shocking customer service, I have never had an experience this bad, and will never eat here again. Absolutely furious.

A really disappointing experience. Restaurant accepted a large order (2 bags of food) and they requested two drivers. Second driver never showed but tone of their customer service was that it was my fault for not ordering directly. No apology and no way to resolve with just eat. Had to call back to see if delivery could be rearranged and was shouted at by one of the staff. Shame about waste of food that had been prepared. Usually rate 5 * but this time it’s regrettably a 1. Awaiting full refund

Extremely portions, had about three small pieces of lamb in the Dansak and the world's smallest naan bread. Won't order again as really bad value for money. Disappointing.

Selling rubbish food and rude people

We ate here in June 2024 and the low score is for the appalling service when we paid our bill. Up until then, everything had, more or less, been fine. True, one of the menus was dirty, but I managed to avoid the curry stains. And the food, was satisfactory. It wasn't piping hot, and my diet coke was a bit flat, but we didn't mention it to the polite waiter who served our meal. And the food was reasonably priced. It was when we paid our bill that our experience changed considerably. A different waiter served us, who was rude and completely lacking in customer service skills. The bill was £50, and we thought that £57 was a reasonable amount, easily divisible by the three of us, and included a decent tip. My friend asked if we could pay separately, £19 each. He initially asked what about the tip ( are waiters meant to ask this?), so we replied that our £19 each included the tip His reply was that he'd charge £20 each. You can imagine our response... Then came the actual payment. I asked to see the amount on the card reader before i swiped. He refused, saying i would get a receipt. He tutted and shook his head when I again asked to see it. He was then rude to my friend when her first card didn't work, reminding her that his bill had to be paid. We left feeling disappointed and disgruntled, and wondering if men would have been treated that way. We had been polite throughout the evening. There is no excuse for such behaviour.

Lamb very tough and rice undercooked very crunchy. Had to throw it away

Well I’m not too pleased. It stated that the veg Rohan was medium spicy. It wasn’t spicey at all! (and I’m sensitive to spice) The Tarka dhal tasted bland. They just tasted like lentils cooked and mushed up together with no herbs or spices. I tasted no tarka! I chose belash because I’ve had great from them before. It tasted fine and I could eat it but I felt disappointed because my expectations weren’t met

Ordered the food. Delivery window kept changing. When the food arrived, it was only half the order. I had to call the restaurant to see what was happening. There were supposed to be 2 delivery people. We had to wait over half an hour between deliveries. Totally unacceptable. Was very frustrating and unprofessional. Food was excellent. Delivery service did not provide acceptable service.

Very expensive, small portions, not that tasty

I ordered on deliveroo but felt I must add a google review as well for what I just experienced. I am half Indian and eat a lot of curry. I regularly try new places. This was mind blowing to me. Each dish tastes unique and delicious unlike bland comments for the bland curries ordered below. In particular the mouth watering: okra, keema peas, chicken Ceylon, lamb vindaloo, prawn & puri. I always leave a lot left over but I finished every last bite. 10/10

Great Indian restaurant. Food was superb and the service was very good. The price too was very reasonable. Thank Belash for a fine evening.

Food was OK apart from Tarka Dal which they liquidised for some unknown reason. Naga chicken was good and spicy, but all the food quickly went cold as they provide no heaters at the table to keep it warm and serve it in open top dishes. The restaurant itself was freezing cold and despite our requests, no additional heating was provided. They have 3 fan heaters in fixed positions above the tables but these are totally ineffective at providing any warmth.

Great Indian Restaurant with a really friendly vibe and delicious tasty food. The Prawn Vindaloo and Chicken Achari where outstanding, washed down with Draught Kingfisher and followed by a great selection of Ice Creams. Lovely Night in laid back surroundings.

A friend said he liked this restaurant so went there to sample their range of dishes. Ordered a vegetable balti which was not as described. Found it to be so different from all the other Balti dishes I had at other places such as the Muhib in Brick Lane where this dish is superbly flavoured but not at the Belash. Thee rice, naan and side dish were ok so this place is average overall.

Almost 1hr 30 late not happy food wasn’t warm anymore

Inexpensive Indian down the road from crouch end clocktower. Service was good and food came quickly, but you get what you pay for.

Portion was small. The curry came in the rice size foil container. For the price, I’d expect more. I had the madras and it tasted ok, but I’ve had a lot better in the area, especially for the price you pay - and you get more too.

Whilst food was great, I've been in the restaurant before. The food also arrived on time but when we opened the bag it was dripping with yellow oil from the curry sauce. The curry was completely squashed and pouring out of the container.

Mein Lieblings-indisches Restaurant in London. Habe sowohl im Restaurant als auch Take Away gegessen - gutes, sehr leckeres, reichliches Essen zu vernünftigen Preisen. Angenehme Atmosphäre, freundliche Bedienung. Tisch reservieren ist unbedingt notwendig!

I ordered it at 6:08 and it arrived at 7:20, we phoned the restaurant multiple times and they said it was ready however the driver was not there despite the app saying there was a driver there this leaving our food to be cold and our evening ruined

Food was delicious as always. Warm, welcoming reception is standard. Had been coming to this restaurant for over 20 years but due to customer service, not the food, I won't be going back. When it came to paying the bill, the older waiter came with the card machine and pretty much demanded that I add a tip and very rudely asked how much I was adding. I told him that if I were to tip, I would decide how much and leave it in cash. This resulted in him flouncing off with an attitude. The next time I visited, I received the frostiest reception ever, even the Manager whom I have known for over 20 years and who is normally very pleasant, barely acknowledged me. When the waiter came to lay our table, the cutlery was literally thrown down on the table in front of me. This is all very sad but in the same breath, it is most definitely unacceptable. In all the years I have been going there, I have never not left a tip so I was really shocked by the waiter's behaviour but more so by the subsequent behaviour of all the staff especially the management. The food is delicious and although the amount of meat/chicken in the dishes had become sparse it was still my favourite. Sad to say that I won't be back. Feb 2023

Not used belash for a while did not enjoy the chicken Ceylon not as nice as it once was

A good time was attempted but not had. Ultimately, the downfall of this establishment was due to the lack of paneer in sag paneer. Upon enquiry, the management and chef enlightened us on the secret recipe which featured melting paneer. This was a bare-faced lie. Paneer does not melt. Facts. Otherwise it was delicious and they were very nice. Just bring your own paneer or face disappointment.

I was horrified that after an innocent mistake in entering the wrong address, the restaurant would not help me in reassigning the delivery address which would only have been a four minute drive from the original. Very upsetting

Very bland food and definitely reheated in the microwave. Wouldn’t go again

Much of the food was ruined as the raita was not sealed, the bag was squashed and so the raita spilled all over it and then leaked blue ink into the other boxes of food. I have taken pictures so please contact me about this.

All Indian restaurants give free pappadums and a small yogurt raita this was disappointing as it was not provided hence will not order from them again

It's OK,always busy on Friday and Saturday but don't expect anything special. The lime pickle is god

Had a meal in Belash tonight and it was very busy with every table occupied but a waiter managed to find us a table for which we were thankful. Took a while to get our drinks and starter order in and looking about there were others that were already seated before we got there that had not had their starters or drinks, but it was busy and me and my wife both understood this due to the busyness of the place. Of note it doesn't help when you've got moped riders from food delivery companies coming in every 5 minutes clogging up the kitchen orders. If you have a restaurant, then the front of house service should be catered for first and foremost. If your business relies so much on take away orders, then close the restaurant and turn the business into a takeaway only. Anyway, we got served our starters eventually and received our mains around 1 hour after arriving. My main issue here is not the waiting time as it was very busy but is of the food. I ordered a chicken tikka dish, and the pieces of chicken were both tough and tasteless. My wife ordered a king prawn dish, and her prawns were small and appeared very pale and not at all pink. All the dishes were very under seasoned and frankly tasteless and bland. The veg curry and Bombay Aloo had a weird sheen and tasted over sweet. In fact, nothing was very tasty at all and was a disappointment. Shame as this place used to very good and was the best Indian restaurant in Crouch End years ago but something has gone amiss. Not sure if it has changed ownership or chefs but it was nowhere as good as I remember it. The prices are good, but I'd rather pay the extra and have a better meal somewhere else in future.

Ordered takeaway. Food was more than reasonable in terms of quality but the main curry dishes are delivered in side dish sized boxes rather than the usual oblong main size. Nice food, but stingy on portions.

We went there by chance the other day for dinner and ordered a portion of curry to share, as we weren’t too hungry. The food itself was largely ok, although not comparable to some of the best Indian food you get in London. At the end we were told by one of the staff , who was grumpy from the offset, that 30 pounds is the minimum bill at the restaurant and our bill was much lower for a ‘standard customer’. I wasnt planning to be a regular or prepared to spend my hard-earned money to satisfy their self-declared rules. Not going back again.

Really disappointed asked for no cucumber in salad as one of my guest is allergic and there was cucumber in it chicken curry had spilled over everything so the vegetarian could not eat there food and really small potions for the price the restaurant changes and not even a free popodom really disappointed 😑

Food poorly packed, nan dry in places and wrong side sauce sent, will not be ordering anything from this place again

Unfortunately I was delivered the wrong main meal and when I phoned the restaurant they were not very helpful the first time, verging on rude. Rang again and they were a bit more helpful but I still had to place a whole new order for them to send me out the correct food. Then I had to struggle to get my full amount of money back from Just Eat. Food was average. Sadly after this I would never order from this restaurant again.

Great food, terrible service & atmosphere. We walked in and the waiter was immediately rude to my wife and had am attitude of "what are yiu doing here?" Whenever we ordered anything he was gone before we were finished our sentence. When the food came he made some awkward jokes about forgetting parts of the order. And to top it all of at the end, when we were paying, he highlighted that service was not included and asked how much we wanted to add to the bill. When I said I'd pay it as is he was offended that I wouldn't "pay" the tip for his service. A shame because the food was actually good and would've probably come back another time if it weren't for the terribly uncomfortable service.

Classic BIR Indian restaurant, this restaurant has been here since I was a kid, amazing food classic prices and loverly friendly service, always a pleasure!

Our order was over 2 hours late. I have been waiting at home with my husband and daughter who are both diabetic type 1. I contacted Just Eat and they were so unhelpful and very unsympathetic about their disabilities. Very upsetting.

Excellent food the King Prawn Vindaloo and the Begun Bahar where a particular treat but everything was so tasty we scoffed the lot then lay on the sofa and moaned with joy. Would definitely use again but we're particularly looking forward to visiting the restaurant.

Used to go about 30 years ago then moved out of the area. I went looking for it about 10 years ago but I thought it closed down as I thought it was opposite the queens pub. But I went with a friend a month ago as it was the next parade along. Been 3 times since. Easily the best for food and value 10 out of 10 for me.
