Beijing City Chinese takeaway in Stockport

Bejing City is definitely more of a chinese restaurant than a chippy. If you're after a proper chippy then you're best going for salty towers in the underbank if it's not too late in the day. Not that Beijing City is bad, I still love a chips and sausage from here when I come, it's just not that classic chippy style some might be after. If you're coming for a proper chinese then you're gonna get the best though. Their salt n pepper box is great, I wish they gave you a tub of sweet n sour sauce instead of curry with it though but I'm always too anxious to ask if they'd change it for me!!! Staff are usually really pleasant, there's one lady in particular that we're always really happy to see, she's always lovely. Beijing City is very tasty food with good prices in a good location, open later than lots of other places. Go for it!

Waited nearly two hours for cold food. Rang up after an hour to be told it would be 15 mins, 45 mins later it turned up cold. Do yourself a favour and give this place a miss

New favourite Chinese. Tried for the first time tonight. Got a small sharing salt and pepper box, plenty for 2 and all tasted fresh. We also got the Mon-Thurs meal deals of chicken curry and sweet and sour chicken. Both were excellent, full of flavour and for £23 delivered absolute bargain as there's enough for dinner tomorrow 😁

This has really gone back to the quality of food they used to serve years ago ever since the new takeover. Everything is spot on and fresh! The best Chinese in Stockport hands down and always lovely on the phone!

We eat here several times a week, tried many dishes and none of them disappointed. The portions are always large and the food is very tasty, the staff is sociable and pleasant, they cook very quickly.

Normally very nice English Chinese but the last two times a little disappointed n the salt and pepper portions very little for the price and the past value sadly. Always on time, lovely staff, and decent price increases but sadly the salt and pepper needs more attention and amount.

Lovely food, pleasant staff and reasonable costs. Doesn't look much from the outside, but the food was good, and that is the main thing.

Knocking a couple of stars off because things have gone downhill, the price has increased significantly. containers have got cheaper, the last 3 times my sweet n sour dip has arrived exploded, the quality of the meat seems to have decreased. A couple months back they lost my address and the people who answer the phone are always different so I think they might have changed hands, Not sure because the satay was still kinda the same unique way they do it. Unsure but wish they would return to their former glory. Gonna move over to Golden Boat if things go on like this. My favourite Chinese takeaway in the area that delivers to me and I have tried damn near every one to get to this point. dragon palace may edge it out slightly but It's waaay more expensive and they don't deliver to Stockport amazing value, open late, very quick with the food, big portions (I'm a big guy, I can eat a lot in a sitting and the portions are so big I reliably get 2 meals out of one order) really tasty, super flavourful and some of the savoury dishes just on the edge before you would say something is too salty, That may be too much for some I suspect but I kinda like it, better to be packed with flavour that a flavourless soup. My pet hate when it comes to Chinese takeaway is wobbly chicken and they don't suffer from this, the meat is decent quality and cooked well. Really nice stir fried noodles, best around here in my experience. Tried a few different dishes and never had anything I didn't enjoy from them. friendly and convenient, they have your address tied to your number so it's no faff to make an order. The only downside is that it's cash only.

We ordered a meal for 2 to be delivered between 6.30 and 7.30 so we could chill out before the England game . Unfortunately the meal was delivered just before 5.30. I phoned Beijing City to let them know it was too early and a lovely lady 'Tikki' was so apologetic and said she would send a fresh meal at 7.30 . We got our meal just before 7.30 and it was gorgeous 😋😋. Thank you Tikki. Customer service is amazing as is the food !! Definitely our favourite..

Beijing City is our go to for the best Chinese, the food is always great very tasty & portion size good. Delivery is always quick & drivers very polite. Highly recommend

The food quality is good. I tried a couple of times and never disappointed. They are very friendly and their service is quick. You must try salt and pepper chicken.

Staff very friendly. I was a bit disappointed with the food. I ordered a salt and pepper box. Chips were a bit soggy and noodles pretty tasteless. Chicken balls and ribs were ok.

We had a full banquet from beijing city tonight. Amazing food. Starters were all excellent, none greasy which was a refreshing change. Great chef i hasten to add. Highly recommend and would definitely order again. 😋😋

Place has gone down hill. Ordered online via their web (not uber or just eat) then when making payment their System crashed. Tried calling to see if my order hâd went through. Thought îl just drive up.... Confirmed they hâd my order and did i want to wait for it as it wasnt ready yet. I said of course now ive drove here. When I asked if i would get my delivery fee refunded was told no. Anyways, i said î ordered from your web direct and it wasnt even ready and ive driven here. He then got angry and gâve me 1/3 of the delivery fee so 1.20 and said angrily youre not getting any more like i was a scammer.... I paid delivery i picked it up as their web said hadnt gone through (so was driving over to order în person) Anyways, got home excited to eat and its gone way down hill. Curry îs blând, egg fried Rice tasted like boiled Rice, salt and pepper dish over salty with no chilli. Noodles were ok. Wont be back very very very rude..... This îs the 1st neg review ive done în a while.

Got a special chow mein chips and curry sauce. The chow mein had no flavour at all, absolutely tasteless. The pork was just fat and the oil the chips were cooked in needed changing about a year ago. I would never order from here again

Have been going to Bejing City for years now but noticed that it's slowly gone down hill. Tonight (21.05.20) our meal arrived, the ribs were full of fat with very little meat, soft noodles had a weird chemical taste and the chips had been reheated. The main dishes were bland. Overall very very poor and would not recommend this take away. We have had to throw most of the food away due to it being inedible. If i could have given half a star i would have. Really disappointed!

Ordered a 30 pound meal at 615pm arrived at 845pm Young children waiting to eat. Rang 3 times to find out where the delivery was. No one had any idea. Lied to twice and when it arrived it was tepid bland and not wrapped properly very very poor service. Tasteless cold food. No apology from chef or delivery driver. Far better options for delivery. Avoid at all costs

I wouldn't order from them if this is how they deliver.. Someone might step on my chips

free delivery within 3 miles..I live in Brinnington an google maps say its 3miles away..but still they say i have to pay delivery as its more than 3 miles..is google wrong? i dont think so..by the way there food has Always been 1st class..an good amounts..

Very disappointing lately. used to absolutely love this place, but the last few orders just haven't been the same, food not tasting nice at all, soup tasted and smelt like dish water, chips overdone, some food way too greasy. Couldn't eat half of it. It has put me off ordering again. hope it improves in the future.
