Me encanta.

Wonderful café and concept. Beautiful, high standard, homemade food on-site, cooked and served by hard working, efficient, friendly volunteers. All proceeds go to help fund the parish outreach work, which includes providing meals for homeless people. They don't advertise or mention this, but if you wish you can "pass it on" by including a donation when paying your bill. Marvellous place. I'd give ten stars if I could

This café is hidden away and you need to go further inland to find this eatery. It is a bit pricey bearing in mind it is inside a church – St martins on the hill. Food was ok, soup was £5.00 which I think is a tad pricey. No Yorkshire tea on offer as far as I could make out. Tea tasted weak.

LOVE this gorgeous little cafe - the scones are amazing and the tea for two is in the cutest tea cosy. Staff couldn’t possibly be any lovelier and helpful, not sure if they’re volunteers but they are really incredible and kind people. Of course the venue is fabulous and surprisingly warm for a church, and dogs are allowed!! Highly recommend paying a visit it’s all round a lovely experience!!

Went today when visiting scarborough, just had a coffee which was strong,' proper' coffee not instant. We didn't eat as we weren't hungry, but we will go there for lunch when next in scarborough. The food looked good. The church is beautiful, it was warm and the people running the cafe were very friendly. We'd not realised the cafe was open more hours as the sign at the italian gardens isn't there any more,by chance we'd walked down falsgrave Road and saw the sign outside the church. The prices are very reasonable. Go, support a good cause.

This is a wonderful cafe in an absolutely beautiful church. Staff are friendly, there are gorgeous freshly baked cakes and lovely home made soup. The Welsh rarebit is my favourite thing here, but all the food is top notch. You can wander around the church and admire the famous pre-Raphaelite art and features.

We booked a table as this was a highly rated place for a roast dinner near Scarborough. I had called ahead and enquired about vegetarian roast dinner options for my girlfriend. On the phone I was assured there were multiple options and although this technically was the case, neither were necessarily the best accompaniments for a roast (stuffed pepper and stuffed pasta). The service was great and we had a lovely table in a corner and the atmosphere was cozy and great. I ordered the beef roast dinner and my girlfriend ordered the stuffed peppers with a roast. The food came relatively quickly. The selection of vegetables was nice and was a welcomed change to have red cabbage and cheesy leeks although they would have been a bit more generous with the portion size as it was to share between the 2 of us. It would have also been nice to have some optional extras on the menu like a portion of cauliflower cheese. The roast dinner also only came with 2 roast potatoes which were really big but would have preferred 3 or 4 smaller ones. It came with a jug of gravy however it was meat gravy and there was not a vegetarian alternative but luckily my girlfriends stuffed peppers were quite saucy so her dinner wasn't dry. My beef was nice however it was slightly chewy and could have been hotter coming out and was only kept warm by hot gravy. Bit of an irrelevant side note but the loos were really nice! Everything else was really lovely and we did have a nice meal and I appreciate it is a small country pub in Scarborough but if you advertise as vegetarian friendly then I think it needs to follow through fully - for example being advised they don't have a veggie gravy upon ordering the dinner or even having a veggie alternative. I'm sorry to be negative, especially when we did have such a lovely time (hence the 4 stars) bu my girlfriend has been vegetarian for 5 years and situations like these feel very frustrating and easily avoidable if staff are more aware and informed.

Amazing quality 5 star's for the exlarge haddock. It's my once a week treat and oh how I look forward to it. I would like the add that the service is gold star and the staff are amazing and very welcoming and really can't do enough. The owner is the Friyer and he really knows his stuff and this comes from a friyer in Leeds. Now retired in Scarborough. If you're lucky enough to find this chippy you won't be disappointed.
