Family of 6 we had a really tasty breakfast, fantastic value as kids breakfasts were free with 2 unlimited adult breakfasts. Servers Craig and James were great, so helpful. Definitely be back.

4 people, none of us happy with food or size of portions. Definitely not value for money.

We were told that there would be a 45 minute wait for food! However our meal appeared in 10 to 15 minutes or so. The place did not look to be so busy, however the staff seemed reluctant to engage. The food was so so with my steak well undercooked. Sticky tables, looking down at heel - I have eaten in many better Beefeaters.

I would have love to give my review, however I spent age and no one answered the phone. This was 7.30 on a Tuesday evening.

Went there few times for family meal. Horrible customer service, my steak was over cooked. The pastry of the fish is soft and soaky. No staffs checking us with our food. Was so mad from our last visit, booked table at 8.45 and soon we arrived. Waited a long time at the fort and been told kitchen is closing in 10 mins and no starter allowed. We asked for the set menu and took her so long to bring the menu over and keep telling us kitchen is closing in 10 mins.

Arrived 4pm for late lunch at bar. Asked what gins they have and barman pointed and said they are there - I asked him what flavours as I can’t read from where I was he just said what flavour do you want so asked for blueberry which he did offer to get but I chose another. I went to order meal but no one around so had to wait for him to return to bar. The food came and my partner asked if he could have another Guineas the bartender said he’d have to come to the bar to get it! Being how quiet it was (we the only ones in bar area) found him rude so didn’t bother buying another drink. If things customer service I’ll leave it and go elsewhere thanks! Lost revenue for Beefeater.

Awful place visited this evening partner tore new shirt on one of the sharp edges sticking out of the pool table, when we informed staff and manger we where told bring the receipt in and we will rememburse for the shirt, our main concern however was say a child walked past put there hand under the table and caught one of the 3 sharp metal edges sticking out, the mangers reply was this, well they wouldn't be playing on the pool table. I mean really in my opinion the manger /staff with no customer care or concern in my opinion about the safety of ypung children using there facilities we asked for the pool table to be shut down when leaving 30 minutes later no tape covering 3 of the metal corners which had very sharp edges which any child could run there hands under or catch there face on ! Absolutely disgusting!

First time in the White Hart, made to feel very welcome by CRAIG. Service was extremely quick, the food well cooked and delicious. The dessert absolutely yummy and very large! Highly recommend this restaurant. For an extra star CRAIG showed me how to scan from my phone the qr code for beefeater Which was so kind of him. Terrific team of him or his colleagues working at the White Hart, we will certainly return.

Was a little chaotic as short staffed on the day. But all the food turned up quickly if not necessarily in the right order, and was very good. Staff were polite and friendly. Only complaint would be that the draft Peroni could have been a lot colder

I visited here with my family a few weeks ago. It is very local to us however, we have only visited a handful of times. Ater just having a baby it seemed like a perfect excuse to let someone else cook, although I wish we hadn't bothered. The restaurant is looking run down, menus were filthy, upholstered chairs were grim, dirty mirrors, worn out carpets and tables were sticky. I used my wipes to clean everything my toddler was likely to touch. The food, for the price, was disappointing to say the least; grey peas, fatty meat, sparse sides and the strangest tasting chicken balls on the children's menu. I begrudged paying the bill, as the glass of wine was the only thing I enjoyed and my toddler only ate the chips (which were few and far between). It is such a shame as this place has sooo much potential, with the beautiful views from the beer garden. I would suggest avoiding for food and heading to the surrounding local pubs, who offer quality food at half the price and take pride in their business.

Good food, tables could do with being cleaned more often, service is good but could be better at the garden side bar, often had to stand around for a while.

Great service perfect food love it

We visit here regularly and always are well looked after by Jamie and his staff, Kirsten and Craig are an asset to the restaurant. Our food is always good, tasty and hot, we have enjoyed lots of meals over the years here.

I had a great Father's Day lunch. The mixed grill was absolutely delicious, with each meat cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. The atmosphere was welcoming and the service was good, making it a truly memorable experience. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a great meal and wonderful dining experience.

Helpful staff made a big order for food on separate bills and ordered at different times easy and pleasant (there was 22 of us). All our food was ready at the same time and delivered with a smile 😊 Great choice of food and drinks, plenty of parking space a pool table and darts.

Lovely site with excellent views. We were greeted and sat promptly and order taken by a friendly server. Food was hot and tasty and great value for money.

Terrible!!!! My partner paid for a meal in a large group her main dish did not arrive and when she advised the manager he told her that it was not on the order list, she showed proof of purchase on her phone but was told it did not prove anything! As someone who works in customer service and given that my partner was in a party of approximately 20 people I think it shows the inexperience of the manager. She was not offered a refund or a meal and ended up leaving paying for food she did not receive. She was treated as if she was trying to steal an extra meal! I would think that the management would be delighted to have the income from such a large group but everyone left with a bad taste in there mouths (excuse the pun)

Found this on sitesearch. The food we had was well cooked and enjoyable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The scenery is amazing. Sat in the garden area having drinks and taking in the sights. A fantstic sunset.

Food and price were rubbish. The actual pub/restaurant is lovely, fantastic space and view in the garden but over recent years the food has gone down hill but the prices have gone up. Certainly not worth the money, dry chicken, tasteless burger, very little chips. Unfortunately we will not be going back.

Cold and incomplete breakfast, continental options are poor

My review is based on value for money. Plenty of options on the menu and the drinks arnt the most expensive. Food is good for the price and doesnt take long to come out but could do with a little more seasoning on the meats. Pool table and darts in the upper area of the bar.

Very small potions, had to send egg back as not cooked properly and had eaten my dinner then they brought egg out. Very expensive for what you get.

The food here was amazing. The peppercorn sauce was out of this world. Come here if you want an amazing steak.

I'm usually not a fan of Beefeaters as a rule as I find them all a bit run of the mill drab and similar. This one is a lot nicer. The bar area has the feel of a more up market bar, there's a lot of seating and large outdoor area. Pool table and darts there, large free car park. Didn't eat here as we was passing through in a bit of a hurry so can't talk to the food quality or the atmosphere really as we arrived early afternoon and there wasn't many in there. The lady in the bar is an asset to the place, I forget her name but remember she has a pro darts player son...lovely lady.

Absolutely shocked the service I have never ever had such a more negative experience Food was great when we got it The place is awesome set on a hill with a view to die for But the staff/management was so rude and in the words of the team leader on duty "I just don't care" and then as he walked away I will leave it at that....

Came here today for lunch with my partner, we both had the nacho chicken wings to start with but they didn't really have much flavour to them, then my partner had the classic beef burger which looked burnt which she didn't enjoy and myself I had the fish and chips. The chips was all of about 8 in total and the beer battered fish was over cooked the batter was hard and when you got to the fish there was hardly any there and what was there tasted like rubber. The waiter come to take the plates and was told about food and he said he would let kitchen know and that was the last we heard there was no apology or even and offer of money off food nothing even when leaving they said nothing so left there £35.00 lighter and still hungry.

Portions were just the right size. Didn't have to wait for long.

Service was fantastic..... Jay the GM was very friendly and the waiter ... Craig ... he was very attentive.... i was with 2 friends and we all had sirlion steaks and triple cooked chips .... i would drive the 60 miles again just for them

This place has improved immensely since my last visit , staff very attentive . Was really impressed with the manager who took an order a two course order for 5 people with different sauces and cooking requirements without writing it down I was convinced it would be wrong . It was delivered exact to order really impressed very efficient. Thank you

I had a burger and chips and it was absolutely horrible. The service here is rubbish it takes half an hour to order a food and drink. Food came out cold. The music is too loud, I do not recommend (at all)

Lovely steaks but rather expensive compared with competitors. Table was close to loud large party that made it unpleasant experience. Side dish was pathetic small and over priced. Couldn’t find any staff when we wanted to pay for twenty minutes. Very odd

been here on numerous occasions and usually fine. on this occasion had fish and chips. fish portion wasn't huge but was really dry and mushy peas were a solid lump. not the standard we were expecting ☹️

My fiancé and I came here for a Friday night steak. We had 2 starters, 2 steaks with some extras and 2 drinks each which totalled over £90. We normally wouldn't mind paying that price if we had good food & good service however this is not the case here. The customer service was very minimal and not great to say the least. The starters were ok but our mains came out just after we finished our starters so there was no room on the small table to put our mains down as the starter plates hadn't been cleared. We paid £5 extra for a small bowl of onion rings, we had to pay £2 extra for sauce to go with the steak and we paid £5 extra for king prawns with one of the steaks... we received TWO prawns! Not king prawns either! I asked the waiter if that was right and he said "I'm afraid so". I wouldn't class a lump of rocket as "salad" and the chips were cold. The steak was ok. We weren't offered any sauces and the only ones available at the cutlery station was ketchup. We asked for mustard but they said they didn't have any. We then asked for some mayo and received a tiny dish with a big film of slime on top of the mayo so we didn't use that as weren't sure it was actually edable. We have been here a quite a few times over the years and it has been mediocre for the price. This is now not the case. It is a rip off for not great service neither good food so unfortunately we will not return again.

We have always enjoyed Beefeater meals but this one topped them all. The staff team from manager to servers were so helpful, warm and friendly, they could not be faulted.

Living in Fairlight we’ve used the White hart at Guesting for many years but after today’s experience I’m not sure we will again. The server we had was absolutely appalling from sending incorrect items to our table to giving us incorrect information regarding what was included with their premium meals, we made our decision based on the Servers information only to be told when the food arrived at our table that if we wanted specific items we would have to pay extra for them. Bearing in mind the bill was over £87.00 for the 2 of us I don’t think putting a Mushroom and a Tomato on a plate is too much to ask for especially as we were told they were included in the meal and that’s why we made our choice. So in a nutshell, the service has hit rock bottom and the Management and Staff don’t care about their customers, all they’re looking for are tips, well not from us!

Very sad this place could be wonderful, BUT it has some things that really annoyed me the main one was I had a burger and chips skinny fries you would get more chips in a happy meal at Mc Donald's the server's where Very good for nearly £20 pounds a head with a coke and a slither of apple pie and custard not value for money,

Very pricey for the quality of the food. We waiting quite a while for the food and the children were hungry. When asking the manager politely if the food was nearly ready she was very abrupt stating there is a 20 minute wait. No one informed us of a wait when we ordered. We saw the two children's pasta meals sitting waiting. By the time they were brought to us they were dry on the top. We both ordered bbq chicken. Cost £15 per meal and was a very small thin piece of chicken. Not worth the price. We were then told when asking for a copy of our receipt that they couldn't print one until tomorrow and they couldn't look back again our order until the next day.

This pub used to have such a wonderful reputation. Not anymore! Went in White Hart for a catch up drink at about 9.20pm with a friend. Not busy as I know it was near the end of day... but forgive me for not getting my phone out to check what time you shut up house. Sat outside as it was a nice evening amongst the filthy ashtrays and unwiped tables. I could have let that go but then just shortly after 9.30pm the garden doors were closed and locked. My friend and I looked at each other in wonder... Had they really just locked us out????. I tapped on the glass to have the doors reopened by a customer playing pool. We finished our drinks and I as a publicans daughter took our empties back to the bar... I asked to speak to the most senior person working of the group of workers huddled chatting and simply suggested that if they were going to lock doors ... it might be polite to stick your head out of the door and say they were getting ready to close and could we finish our drinks up. The MANAGER said he had done this... no he hadn't... they call it hospitality for a reason... to be hospitable... Perhaps the barmaid could have told us that they would soon be closing when we bought our drinks??? Perhaps the manager could have just apologised for his error of locking customers out. I have no reason to lie so when I say he or no one took a step outside to say they were closing up... they didn't. BEEFEATER... what a shame. For over three decades our families have come to the white Hart for family gatherings but after the last three visits to your establishment resulting in negative feedback... whether it be regarding the bad cut of steak you choose to serve in a BEEFeater, the cleanliness of your venue... with staff standing around there's not a lot of an excuse... or the poor customer relation skills your leading staff share with customers... that's another customer that no glorified sign on a roadside will entice back.

Staff never heard of customer service

This pub was such a disappointment. No wonder it was so quiet and barely any customers on a summery August day. Tables, chairs, floors and bathrooms filthy. Baby changing facilities were disgusting and full of flies! Food was hard, not cooked properly and not as stated on menu. I don't usually post reviews but felt this was needed. Staff were stand offish and stood about on their phones when they should've been serving/cleaning. Would not recommend this place even to my worst enemy!

Over the years, I have come to this venue many times. Before covid, prices were good, the food was good, and the service was good. Lately, I feel the food has become pricey for the volume you get and how it is presented. The service is very hit and miss, 7/10, they miss the mark on service especially families with young kids, families expect prompt service to get in and out this rarely happens, I pretty much always have to look for whoever is serving our table. I recently witnessed a very poor front of house manners whilt the 2 ladies were being seated and 2 questions were ignored. One request was to be seated, not by a window. The request was completed, ignored, and glossed over with a poor joke. I checked to see if there were many seats available, and there were over 10 tables available, I was disappointed on their behalf. I have hope for this place to get better as there aren't many great places around the Hastings area. Lately, I have been left disappointed and came out feeling I didn't get value for money for what I received, including the service. I know we are in harder times financially, but I think retraining and a better menu for value, especially for kids, is due. Seems standards are nonexistent those days.

The staff were very helpful and nice. It was a shame to spoil a meal by having on the menu JUMBO Prawns for 3.99. 2 tiny prawns tasting like rubber, obviously overcooked (corporate cooking instruction).Then, to be told they would be replaced but come out the same. A conflict or misunderstanding about size and quality.

Came here with my family and everything was so good. From the welcoming service when we came in, even if we were a few minutes late for the booking! We were served really quickly and the food was spot on. Couldn't have asked for a better service.

Tried this place not expecting much wow how wrong we were! Staff are friendly and very welcoming ,place is clean ,food is amazing above what we thought a chain restaurant would be ,we opted for the 3 course special lunch menu £36 for 2 people with refillable drinks !! So worth every penny 😋 wish I didn't have pudding as I was stuffed 😂, will definitely go back and definitely recommend . The view from the garden is amazing too .

Went to beefeater whitehart Sunday was absolutely shocking.Had table booked for 1645. DIdn't get a seat until 1730 got to table was still dirt 2 chairs were completely wet. There were lots of other tables available but they didn't have sfatt so would not open the area. Then was told after waiting for seats that they had run out of most the food not great so walked out.

Service I little slow but all in all very nice even though I set the alarm off sorry about that I thought you could get out that way

We seem to be going quite allot lately there are 2 members of staff that are always exceptional at there job. Did not get there name lady with glasses and tall guy with a beard. Food is always good and service is great
