we were at dinner yesterday, at 8pm the tables were already leaving so it wasn't busy like always at this hour, we ordered starters, we waited short time, all 4 starters were burnt, dark, oily...they was run out of steaks so we ordered burgers, we didn't finish the starters and our dinner was already on the food pass , after clearing the starters we get straight away main burgers that had been standing on the pass for about 10 minutes, they were warm from the heating lights, the meat was burnt. we don't recommend the place on weedon road... I sow manager apologies few leaving tables… so I gest it’s not just as unhappy.

We booked days ahead. You can't choose your food ahead. When we got there-- 5 -- new customers we were told no more Sunday roasts left.This was 4pm !! Spoke to the manager who couldn't care less. AVOID THEY DONT DESERVE CUSTOMERS

This was a standard Beefeater. We had an evening meal here to break up a long journey. The staff were very nice but sometimes hard to find, 1 waitress said she couldn't help us get our bill as we needed to find our waitress. The food was OK, toilets were OK but nothing special. One of our group has a nut allergy, when we advised of this we were given a greasy, grubby feeling lever arch file to look through to see what meals contained nuts. The writing was tiny and it was not user-friendly. It felt like a box was being ticked by dumping the folder on our table rather than showing any due care or concern towards the guest with the food allergy.

Stopped here for a full English. Got here late and the manager who greeted us could not have been friendlier or more professional. I think one of the staff called him Laurie or Laurent. But his whole team were thoughtful, professional and polite. I’ve been in a few other Beefeaters where the staff give the impression they’re interrupting an important chat to deal with the customers. If you’re in the Northampton area you’d be well advised to try this place. And Beefeater should promote this guy to head of personnel and training. Oh, and the kids eating free makes it hard to beat in terms of value

We went on August Bank Holiday Saturday at mid day, it was very busy but there was no wait and the service was brilliant. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

As always, a lovely experience eating here and the attention Lauro and his team give us is always top- notch. Lauro deserves a special shout out as he is always so welcoming and attentive. Fully recommend!!!!

A lovely warm welcome yet again and great food nothing ever to much trouble ,Roast Beef lunch and Roast Chicken was fab too even better with 25% off 👍.

I stayed 2 nights in the Premier Inn next door. First night I was asked to eat in the bar area. I couldn't get served, only one member of staff behind the bar, walked out and went else where, next morning breakfast was ok. Second night my resignation didn't make it through but I got a table. It took 30 mins to be asked what I want to eat. A couple next to me arrived 10 mins after me and complained about the lack of service. My fish and chips arrived quite soon after but it was the smallest portion that I have ever seen. The did not look very good. I asked if it was a child's portion and was ignored until I asked for a reply. My boll arrived and I was over charged. Breakfast on the final morning was again ok. This has put me off staying at the Premier Inn again next door.

Did not book, friendly greeting. Good choices on the menu. Food came out hot and in good time. Desserts were delicious. Ample free parking.

Amazing service such friendly staff and was busy but our service wasn’t effected and food was top class we could see it being plated up and were delivered it straigh away

Recently visited the Turnpike and I must say I loved it. Special shoutout to Jonathan who made our evening even better with his friendly demeanour, excellent recommendations and overall personality. If you’re looking for a great place to unwind with good company, yummy food and exceptional service, The Turnpike is the spot. Can’t wait to visit again :)

Reasonably priced, tasty food. Suitable for my children as there is lots of different choices and they loved sitting outside.

Recently had grub and drinks here and it was decent. Jonathan in particular was so nice and affectionate to our party and made our experience the best it could be. So give him extra plaudits for that

Went yesterday with my daughter and 2 grandchildren . The 2 men serving looked scruffy and when I asked one if he had English mustard he looked at me like I was stupid. We had only just sat down and was asked straight away if we wanted drinks, we ordered 3 zero cokes and a wine. A lady appeared straight away and asked if we were ready to order, we’d literally just sat down. We ordered food then as we started eating our steaks from the main menu she came over to tell us she would bring the tomato half and a mushroom each over to us because we had ordered from the main menu. We asked about the bottomless drinks and she said you get that anyway with dietdrinks, Urmm well how was we supposed to know that? The steak was lovely, the chips were disgusting, they seemed old and refried, Urmm about 10 peas on the plate. Luckily I had a 40% off of mains but we still spent £60. I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place. Won’t be going back. The lady was the only one in uniform, the 2 men looked as if they’d popped in for food

After enjoying their awesome breakfasts I thought I would try dinner. Had a mixed grill and the Mrs a rack of ribs. Quality food that didnt break the bank.

Good value for money. Very personable staff. Absolutely packed so they must be getting it right.

Arthur was very helpful and nothing was too much trouble for him. Food and service was great. All very happy and would come again.

This gives the impression of a business in decline the host's laptop was falling apart, I visited as part of a stay at the adjacent Premier Inn, The meet and greet person was rushed off his feet he didn't have any information as to who was having a continental breakfast or full English, the cereal dispenser was loose on its base and seemed in imminent danger of collapse, one of the toasters was missing a foot and therefore lopsided. The food was OK but the apparent chaos was disturbing.

Stood for 20 minutes waiting to order a pint at the bar. Not good enough really. 🤣

We had a lovely lunch here today. The restaurant was busy and the atmosphere was buzzing. Lovely food as always - my rump steak was perfectly cooked and only £9.99 on the lunctime menu! I chose to have a salad instead of chips, and it was really good. Angie looked after us brilliantly as she always does. She is a credit to The Turnpike and the Beefeater brand. Thanks to Mark for the fab liqueur coffees.

Great breakfast. Could have been a few more choices available for fruit and yoghurt flavours but otherwise a really good variety of food, both cooked and continental.

Came in for breakfast takeaway 3/7/24 ready for our long journey home. Our server was very attentive and helpful. Making our experience a very positive one. He was very happy and chatty. Couldn't do enough to help us. Understood we wanted to be on the move so sorted our takeaway very quickly. Delicious food (Thankyou kitchen) Thankyou so much.

Just visited took 35 mins just to order drinks which was still wrong when they came. (Hardly any one there wasnt even busy). Food cheesy garlic bread 7quid for two soggy bits of bread with cheese. My boy tried the crunchy chicken burger and he said the crunch part was good but the chicken was dry and bland. Very expensive for very poor quality and staff were ridiculously slow, dread to think what itd be like if it had more than 5 tables. £17 for the burgers and really not worth the price. Had to go back out and get my son a pizza for something to eat. Strongly suggest to know what your getting in for.

The service was great and food reasonably good but oh the decor!! The chairs were filthy, need a good shampoo.

Angie served us and as always there are no complaints about her. She was very polite and helpful as usual. I do however have complaint about the chap who showed us to a table. He took us to a one next to the grill. It gets very hot there and I politely asked if we could sit somewhere else, as I have before. He apologised and said there was nowhere else. A table for four like ours was 3 ft away and remained empty for the whole time we were there. There were many other tables that remained empty too. It's a shame he couldn't be as helpful as Angie. My comment for him is 'must do better!'

Told to use the front of the pub as the back nearest premier Inn was full so did but couldn't find a clean table so wiped my own. Stood at bar for 15 minutes waiting to be served, eventually did get served after the girl struggled to make the cocktails for the couple in front of me, she must have been well trained or NOT I would imagine. Food was terrible cold and inedible chicken mush goujons, cold onion rings not too bad but very plain mushrooms that had no garlic taste at all and the cheese and tomato nachos might as well just had a packet of crisps cause there was no cheddar cheese or cheese sauce and about a dozen small bits of tomato. Tables near me not cleared away and cleaned in over an hour I was in. When I did complain, no offer of apologies just constantly said it's cause they were busy, sorry but the place was dead the staff are bone idle and didn't give a flying you know what Staying in premier Inn tonight and meant to be having breakfast in the morning but would rather not bother now seeing how dirty and unhygienic the place is, reported the gents toilet floor very wet, either leaking or someone pissed on the floor and an hour later just the same, told the staff again and apparently I could have used another toilet round the corner. Totally not impressed with the place, recommended you avoid at all cost.

What an amazing experience! Myself and my partner, visited The Turnpike as we were passing. We have been to many Beefeaters before, but this was like no other. Our waitress Angie, was quite possibly the best waitress we've ever met. What an amazing lady. She was very kind and caring and nothing was too much bother. She honestly made our day, how lovely she was. Then there was the food, I had the double burger. Absolutely amazing. Juicy succulent and perfectly seasoned. Litterally can't fault our meal here! The Turnpike, see you again soon! 10/10 food 10/10 service Angie we love you! ❤️

We didn't pre book so had to sit in the bar area, this area could do with a refurb as chairs are very tatty and blinds dusty, can't fault the food and service that was OK, I think they should supply sauces cutlery and napkins on table as we had to ask for them when our food arrived

We tried to book by the automated telephone system for a meal at the Harpole restaurant. I asked for a 9.30pm table and was told by the (AI) booking system that a table would be available at 9pm. When we arrived at 9.05 we were told that the kitchens were closed and therefore no food was available. The staff told me that the last order for food was 9pm but the booking system had not been updated despite many requests. As we were staying at adjacent premier inn (with a meal deal) we ended up having to spend our night with empty bellies. A very dissatisfied and disappointing start to our weekend. Beefeater/Premier Inn, you need to sort your online systems out!!!

Bar service absolutely awful 1 person serving waited 20 minutes to get served while 3 staff behind standing behind bar on phones and chatting. Must of lost £ £ with people walking out

Unfortunately, with work, I stay at far too many Premier Inn Beefeaters. Dare I say it, but Covid brought a lot of these places right down and menues were reduced and they haven't bounced back. The menu is long overdue for a revamp and should have different options on it. If you have the misfortune of staying regularly all week with work "and most of their customers do," it doesn't take very long to run out of options.

Good service, recommend booking as it was very busy and I think you would be in for a long wait if you didn't. Had breakfast after a stay in the premier Inn, undercooked pastries, absolute mayhem but the cooked breakfast was okay

Booked a table day before. Arrived shown to our table .Waited 30mins before any one came for our order. Then another 45mins had to chase up drink order only to discover that our meal order had not even been put through. 15mins later server came to inform us that they had no chicken or lamb but we could have extra slices of beef. I had to order a completely different meal. Another 45min wait 2 meals came with only 2 slices of beef and a grilled chicken pattie one of the beef meals was so over cooked it was uneatable. The manager came and apologised and didn't charge us. But they should have informed us when we arrived that they had no chicken or lamb before seating us. That way we could have gone elsewhere. They slso had no Guiness or Doombar. Normally we have brilliant service but felt let down on this occasion.

Really nice lovely meal had the trio of fish and apple crumble and they even let me have extra custard with my crumble. Arrived at the beefeater at 4.30pm on the 7th of July lunch menu was still on so got two course meal deal which had steak on the menu which was just a pound extra so think it was 12.95 for two courses. Been this evening on a Sunday night food was good but service was next to nothing staff stood around mucking around and one staff member stood behind the desk in plain view on the phone texting. Got told short staff you need to sit in bar so was disappointing won't be rushing back ok. Use to go as a treat but won't be hurrying back now.

Myself and other members of my family including 3 children went for breakfast. The foodon offer was on an all you can eat basis. You started with cereals and gave the staff your order for as much as you liked of the cooked breakfast which was really nice. There is something for everyone including continental breakfast if you prefer.

Ordered off the lunchtime menu. Actual menu was not very clean. Ordered fish and chips x2. Advised only Haddock available. One meal -fresh chips with nice chunky white fish. My meal "second handchips" which seemed to have been warmed up as the were a brown colour and not hot. Fish appeared similar state. Not sure what type of fish it was either. Mushy peas barely warm. All in all not a very good experience

No fresh vegetables could be seen on menu. Only chips as potatoes, no baked or mashed, sautéed or boiled. No curries and therefore no rice. All was fine but very limited menu.

As a guest at the adjacent Premiere Inn the location was ideal. Food was good, staff helpful. Not the normal Beefeater breakfast, but fuel to start the day.

The roast dinner was overcooked, poorly presented and tasted awful. Fish was also overcooked, had to send it back. Spoke to the Manager, who had nothing to say. No Sky Sports. Dangerous cable running along the floor where the pool table is. Slow service. Pub is unclean, terrible atmosphere.

We have been coming here for once every couple of months for family get together minimum 8 people. Food has always been brillant. But last night was very disappointing. The batter on the fish was hard and thick and it shattered everywhere when you cut it. The fries were hard and cold And then to be charged £9.98 for 2 side orders of garlic prawns which then consisted of 2 prawns in each dish was atrosious!!!!! So 2.25 a prawn!!!! Will now be looking for other venues which is a shame.

We have been here several times for the all you can eat breakfast. It really is hit and miss here with the kind of experience you'll have. Also, with how good the waiting staff are. Food is usually good, though we've had to complain about that a few times as well. I suppose with how much you pay for it, can't really complain that much.

Went here in January for a meal. The lady seating us rolled her eyes when we asked for a different table....not a good start. Seated near the kitchen where the staff were walking around aimlessly and chatting through the kitchen hatch. No staff were cleaning tables or doing anything productive. Food was ok, but the waiter was staring at us while we were eating until my husband spoke loudly about him doing so, and he moved away. The whole place needs an overhaul, and the staff need training on customer care. They were not interested in anything related to their work. We thought we would give it another try just for a drink, so we sat in the bar a few weeks later. Floor carpet was grubby, but oh dear, the seats were even worse... looked like dogs had chewed through the fabric on nearly every chair...table sticky, and the whole place looked dirty even though the lights were low. Avoid going here....its grubby from top to bottom, and the staff are just not interested in their customers.

I visited this place while in England, very nice atmosphere, nice service, fresh and tasty food, good burgers, although a bit too small... Good ribs. The weakest was the children's pizza... A solution from the children's menu - the price includes an appetizer, main course and dessert, great 6*

It would seem you are allowed to Vap in clear view at this place, especially while playing pool. Maybe smoking at the bar will happen real soon?

Went for breakfast on a very busy Sunday. We was a big group. All are plenty and enjoyed our time there.

Fabulous.... Ellie the waitress was very attentive and catered to our every needs 😊 Best steak we had both had at a beefeater 😋

For £9.99 it was an all you can eat breakfast with fruit, a continental option and a freshly cooked option. I asked for hard boiled eggs but unfortunately they came soft boiled.

Food is always lovely. You can choose to eat in the restaurant or in the bar area. You can't book for the bar area. Most of the staff are very friendly, but there's one particular staff member that I dread getting served by. The Beefeater has always got discounts, which you'll get if you have signed up for their marketing emails. The breakfast is probably the best meal to have here. For £9.99, you can order what you want for your fried breakfast and pick up a few continental pieces whilst you're waiting for it. There's also tea, coffee, and juices available for you to help yourself.

I was delighted by my experience here. Staff was lovely and very helpful. Highly reccomend for family meals and big parties!

We decided to try the beefeater as we have visited many times over the years. Bar staff are lazy and stand around the back texting on their bloody phones, Tables in the bar area were filthy, stained with dried drinks,glasses everywhere, and the place was disgusting, as soon as customer leaves clear the bloody tables and wipe them down its not as if you are busy just bad management. Eventually, we got seated, and again, cutlery was not clean, and the table was sticky. Order taken OK here we go , asked for a bottle of wine ( tell you what I won't even go there ). Food turns up, looking like something from Debs Dinner, absolutely horrendous starters, Mains , Wife has the steak sampler along with skinny fries, A selection of fillet, sirloin and rump, which was which ?? As we will never know as it was fat and grizzle, and the dog loved it when we went home, Fries came out wrong!!!! How , but they did change them, then tried to charge us for them lol I had the burger, which was dry,had a very strange smell to it but managed to keep it down with my wine that the waiter had never heard of. Both starter and mains now come with no salad whatsoever as a garnish just to put some colour on the plate, staff were more interested in moving bloody tables around while the few were still eating, poor management again, staff not properly trained, restaurant was dirty with more food on the floor than on the plates, This place desperately needs a complete overhaul from the front to the back and adults running the place, not kids running a burger joint.

Had the curry and it had lots of chicken in. Which was really nice quite often it's more sauce than chicken at other place

What a shame it was so good I orderd a steak not cheap I had to fight to get a whole grilled tomato then they forgot to put mushrooms on plate steak was small the starters looked like the potato pealing left over from the chips they pealed. Never again.

Christmas Dinner at the Turnpike, unfortunately for me it wasn't the best, but other members in the family had a good meal. For starters most had patè, which was ok, you had loads of it (nice) but bread wise you got a tiny thin bread baguette, could of done with 2 (the waitress said most had complained about this) Also on the plate there was (haha) a watered down chutney, won't say what it looked like.. 😆 2 others had the pawn cocktail. I had the traditional turkey with trimmings, I'll go 1 by 1. Roast potatoes lovely, Yorkshire pud, a bit rubbery. Carrots were nice 👌, sprouts were like cannonballs, and these were rock hard. Pigs (sorry pig on a diet) in blankets were very thin, and you only got 1. And the Turkey was ok, not the best from what I had in the past from there. My wife and another had steak, and they loved it, said it was a good change to the normal Christmas meal. For the pudding, I had apple pie with custard, was really nice and had a good sweet taste to it. Over all, wasn't the best meal but given the day and that I didn't have to cook I can't complain. The staff were all great and had a smile, even the chap dressed like an extra from Miami Vice. We did have a drunk couple and friend site behind us, absolutely hanging they were, when we left they were behind us, one of the ladies said 'I'm going to be sick' so I tried to hurry my party up, thank god I did as this lady then decided to empty the contents of her stomach on the floor. What an absolute state to be in on Christmas day.

Is this pub under new manager?? Went for a birthday steak, couldn't eat it. Looked for staff to let them know but no-one about. Left uneaten and won't be back. Shame it was our local and have had some lovely meals here.

I tried to book a table for a group of 30+ through the online form, but as the group was large it said I would recieve an email from a member of staff to discuss this further,. A week and a half later I still have had no email contact and called 5 times to the restaurant to try and book this, but they did not answer. I then tried to ring head office to complain about the lack of contact and to see if they could get through to help assist with the booking and the gentleman on the phone also could not get through. All he advised was for me to "try call them again" I would avoid for any large functions because clearly they are not bothered about the large income that would amount from catering for such a large group. Contact is poor and head office are not bothered at all.

Went for lunch. Not great but not bad by any means.

Staying at the premier Inn next to the restaurant and a great place for food. The kit kat sundae takes some eating, as there's so much of it, so save some room.

My go too place, always end up back here with family. Cosy, staff very friendly and attentive ( my wife has major food allergies ) the staff always cater precisely for her allergies. Food is always done right and nice. Keep up the good work!!

Came in for a coffee for business. Was very much impressed by the greeting and professional friendliness of the bar tender Alex (I asked for his name as he deserves this review) 😊 A relaxing and welcoming atmosphere. Fair prices too. 👌🏽

I went to the Turnpike with a few friends for a bite to eat and a few drinks and we had the most wonderful experience. Our sever Lauro was kind, attentive and more than helpful. Nothing was too much to ask of him and he always had a smile on his face! 10/10 would definitely recommend!
