Surprisingly tasty food. Great service

Worth a visit. This was our first time here. I had a lovely burger. The patty was home-made style and perfectly cooked. Sensible portion sizes - the previous diner here would give us too much food for a lunchtime and that actually put us off going there. Cool decor. Very attentive and quick service. Noisy family in the corner when we were there but not much the restaurant can do about that! Why do people have to talk loud enough so they can be heard by everybody in the room? Edit: Sadly, we won’t be back. I checked and they don’t allow dogs.

Unfortunately this place is incredibly poor. At first glance you would feel that the cost is reasonable and competitive. Sadly the experience does not reflect that. Our food was varied with some bits ok and most inedible. Your eggs are microwaved and I’m convinced powdered, frozen potato (parts still frozen), pancakes that look and taste several days old and re-heated, over cooked eggs, a “token gesture” for bacon. I ordered an additional side of two sausages (£3.95) they were basically cocktail sausages that had been in a hot cupboard for the past 6 years). There are no condiments at the table, no sugar for hot drinks offered. Service started out ok the when being served the waiter served 4 of the 5 breakfasts, went and took payment from another table who were all paying individually before returning to serve the last plate. At the cost of over £60 for breakfast I will not return but I’ll be surprised if the place is open for very long. It is almost comical how bad it is, you would be forgiven to think you’re being pranked and at any moment Keith lemon is going to pop up out of nowhere. Great place, Staff are excellent and very friendly. The music in the backround is great and the theme of the place itself is brilliant.. Food was lovely, one slight complaint in that the Veggie burger wasn't very good and could be improved massively.. other than that it was a excellent experience for us all 😄

Terrible food, can't believe they're allowed to even charge for it. First red flag was when I ordered a Ferrero Roche milk shake and didn't hear a blender, tasted premixed out of a carton with a bit of squirty cream on top. My boyfriend ordered a smash burger that was smaller than a McDonald's double cheeseburger, I ordered a texas hotdog which was okay as you expect a poor quality hot dog to be but the toppings were disappointing. As for the dirty fries they were absolutely atrocious! Labelled with homemade cheese sauce and chilli beef, the sauce was definitely not homemade nor could barely be called a sauce and the beef was definitely microwaved pre packaged crud, dry and bouncy. The only good thing was the wings. The tip of the iceberg was how they charged £50 for this was almost insulting. We were tempted to walk out but I'm too polite. NEVER AGAIN AND I WARN PEOPLE TO STAY AWAY. Also the server was nice but also too interested in the football match on the TV rather than his dying restaurant.

Highly recommended. Friendly staff, nice retro USA themed decor, lovely burgers and reasonable prices. Hope to return soon to check out the breakfast waffles.

Took our mum here again today for lunch. My sisters and I love this place. Nice meeting point. Ricky is sooo lovely ! Always gives us a warm welcome. And makes a fuss of our mum. She is 94 and likes going there. Dennis is fantastic as well and always happy and friendly. I had the rump steak salad. It was delicious. Thankyou for a lovely afternoon. See you again soon. Haven't been since the new ownership and renovation, like night and day in comparison. Inside gives a really great USA vibe. Menu is varied and all looks so nice. Breakfast menu until 4pm was great, we had a classic Tennessee pancake stack, chicken strips and a mexican smash burger. All great value for how tasty it was. Iced latte was very affordable and so refreshing. We will be coming back, would highly recommend for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

First time we have been here, but wow the burger I had was absolutely superb. Will definitely be coming back again. If you want something that makes other burgers look and taste bland then I would recommend this place.

Situated right next to a Travelodge, the Diner was a great surprise. It serves good food speedily and is managed by friendly and helpful staff. The atmosphere is intriguing with plenty of interesting bits of memorabilia to admire. Definitely a place to remember and return to.

From the warm welcome through to the goodbye, Dennis looked after me, a hungry and thirsty traveller. Wings cooked perfectly with a fine honey bbq saucesauce, rib-eye medium rare - outstandingly juicy and tasty, super string fries, great onion rings; all cooked perfectly and hot. Cheesecake and a couple of beers and I left happy. Service was excellent. Thank you chef for that steak.

Took the kids in for lunch and had 2 steaks and 2 different burgers. The food was lovely and hot.. The Mexican burger was nice and spicy. If you want well cooked meat just tell them when you order as ours was cooked perfectly for us and the sirloin steaks were lovely. A decent lunch for us.

We had to stay overnight at the hotel next door to Amigos'. We were very late getting up so we missed breakfast service. I ascertained that Amigo's American Diner next door was open and they had the ingredients for an Eggs Benedict, something I'd fancied but hadn't been able to order for a few days. My Wife had an American 'Slammer' Breakfast I had Eggs Benedict with salmon. The salmon wasn't smoked salmon but it was OK. The portions were large. My Wife doesn't like black pudding. She left most of her toast, a slice of bacon, half a sausage, most of her baked beans and one whole poached egg. I finished all of that off for her. Er had three cappuccino coffees between us. We ate leisurely and talked to the foreign owner and Latvian waitress. I went around taking photos of the American memorabilia. The service was friendly and efficient. The atmosphere, and food choices, were that of a typical American, deep south, diner. The prices were reasonable. We will definitely return if we are in that area. The prices were reasonable.

The food and service was amazing

We go to Amigos a lot and we love it. It's our number one burger and pud restaurant in Milton Keynes. Never been disappointed. The food and service is fab. Middle of the road price wise. Definitely cheaper than TGI Friday. We often go in the afternoon and it's always quiet and service prompt. We love this place. Give it a try.

Food very tasty service was fine

Saw some reviews on Tripadvisor so decided to go for dinner. Venue was attached to a Premier Inn. I went on a Tuesday evening and it was quite (only 5 other people). Service was good but I thought the food was average, with the dessert (caramel apple pie) looking unappetising. I saw House slaw on the menu, was looking forward to home made coleslaw and what I got was basic supermarket coleslaw (for £2.45!) My bill for a Cheeseburger (with fries and a leaf salad), coleslaw, bottle of beer and dessert came to £24.65

My family and I go here all the time. The pancakes are amazing and the music and decor is great. The staff are so friendly. They always greet us so warmly. Their breakfasts are something else! Do book on a Saturday or Sunday for brunch though as they get so busy.

Would not recommend breakfast here - had the full american style breakfast, smaller portion than expected, eggs had shell in, beans were cold, sausages and bacon were cold, black pudding was overdone, the pancakes were supermarket packet toastable ones. All the ingredients were very cheap. Took 25 mins to make despite the fact there was only one other table who had come in 5 mins after us. Nothing american about the place. Not worth the £12 each

OMG the best burger I've ever eaten and I've tried a few! Worth the 40 min drive, staff are very welcoming, fab service and lovely atmosphere, definitely coming back

My husband forgot to specifiy if he wanted pancakes or toast, they made the decision for him. The waiting staff were nice, but the man in charge was horrible to his staff. He also refused to allow the elderly couple who came in after us to have something off the kids menu as they didn't want a big breakfast. He was rude to them about it too.

I was really disappointed that they didn’t have milks that are nondairy. They also didn’t have nondairy spread for the toast so I had to have dry toast. The breakfast was okay

Great little diner, far better than the Buddies diner that was here previously. Menu is burgers/dogs/steaks oriented. Service & presentation is very good. Smashed burgers are a newer menu item & are very tasty. Go on a weekday afternoon if you want to visit when it's quiet.

Delicious burgers that really ticked my American Diner boxes. Not busy so it lost points on atmosphere but I am told it is busier at breakfast time rather than in the middle of the afternoon on a Sunday. I am sure with a few more people there it would be perfect. Hidden gem with plenty of parking.

Amigo’s was very quiet when we went. For a while we were the only people there. Service was friendly, food was okay.

Burger is really nice but that’s about it. Chips are cold and soggy, and also obviously just oven fries. And even though I ordered an hour in advance with a specific time slot, the food was half an hour late. Quite expensive for the amount you get aswell

WOW passed by this place for the last few years today we stopped. What a fantastic experience my mum and I had a fantastic American burger meal and wish we had stopped off long before now. We will be coming back. X. X

A mid-week journey resulted in us being in Milton Keynes so we decided to try Amigos. It was very quiet. Food was lovely and nicely presented. We rarely travel that way, but will pop in again if convenient. I'm still not sure about the difference between 'gourmet' and 'smashed' burgers, but they tasted great, so who cares!

I didn't like the breakfast. Pancakes came from a plastic bag , served cold ... tasted awful. Pancakes only good if it is freshly made. Which in an American diner was expected. Bacon/ egg/ beans nothing special, toast was the cheapest ones what you can purchase from shops. For £8-10 pounds dish , no, not worth it. I would have had much better if stayed at home and not spending £40. Cappuccino was good , it was made by a cappuccino machine. Ps.: Amigos sounds more like 🇲🇽 Mexican ? Then American?? So the name of the place little odd

Love Amigos, really nice food that always arrives hot. The chicken wings are some of the best I have had outside of the US. The hotdogs are well worth a go and the sausage loaded fries are really good as well

Amigos is now our go-to place when we want a nice breakfast in a nice atmosphere. The food has improved each time we have been here. The dinner menu is very good and fresh now, the owner told us that he is using the 100% British Angus beef now from a local farm and he also updated the kitchen. Me and my husband came for breakfast, the staff was very polite and kitchen followed my request to cook the poached eggs a bit longer and they came out amazing just how I like them. It' nice to see that the owner remembers his customers and came to greet us personally. I am impressed how this restaurant is improving!

I have never had such delicious food and the host is such a lovely guy, made this service 100% better and that’s hard to beat! The food is absolutely amazing, everything is fresh and homemade. Would recommend this place with such high hopes! And very very quick service.

Saturday early evening, not overly busy, plenty of parking spaces, great decor, toilets were clean and smelt nice, we were sat straight away, as for the the rest of the service it was very slow, lots of things unavailable on the menu, ordered what we could, food presentation for the adult meals looked good, kids meals were meh, my burger was a little too pink for my liking, but I powered through, regretting that decision now at nearly midnight (I won't go in to detail) Probably not a place I'd visit again tbh

been here for sunday lunch. I ordered the loaded chicken fries and classic american burger which was very delicious and was homemade. I would definitely recommend it, we will be back.

Popped in here with family for breakfast. Food is good, if a bit expensive. Good choice and you can mix and match things. Pancakes are excellent. Puddings are good too3.

If you are staying in the travelodge next door you may not be able to get breakfast here, sadly. We stay at the travellodge Saturday and Sunday night. Hoped to breakfast before going to silverstone on Sunday morning but wasn't open until 8:30 which was too late. Then hoped yo get breakfast on Monday morning only to find wasn't open until 12:00. Seems quite odd given there is a captive customer base for breakfast literally on top of the restaurant. Can't comment on the food or service.

Came across this place by chance and my family and I had a lovely experience. We're vegetarians so we were pleased there were various options for us. Nothing was too much of a ask for the gentlemen serving us. Thank you, although we're not local, we'll visit again when in MK again 👍

Good quality was very low, the £13 burger was just a very standard burger. The pizza had potential but so burnt on the underside and nearly uncooked on the top.. very disappointing, small quantities too. Sharer box of sides literally had 2 of each item in, space was filled up with some bread.. very disappointing as it’s definitely not a cheap take away. Won’t be ordering from here again..

Nice place to grab a bite or drink when staying at the Travelodge next door.

We were quite on our own at 12 something on a Wednesday. We were in a Buddies restaurant with a new name and, as we liked the feel of Buddies, that was a good bit of nostalgia. My dining buddy maybe was a little swayed by the man there working. Thankfully I'm married so don't look at such things but he was very interested! Anyway, I digress. I'll be honest, I expected my blue cheese burger to contain actual blue cheese but it didn't appear to. Rather it was just a blue cheese sauce. Still tasted good but I thought it then queried the price which was way more than burgers generally are. Actually adding real cheese wouldn't have been a bad choice. After all, we wouldn't expect to get burger flavoured sauce instead of meat. As a listed ingredient it should be there. But, it was tasty and relaxing, my sort of scene. It's easy to get to and parking is good. Not sure if the other side was open as, if it were I believe that has better access for wheelchairs.

Would recommend. Friendly staff. Food great and plenty of it. Would recommend.

Really delicious! The New York Smash burger was sooooó juicy and the Texas Hot Dog had just the right amount of chilli - looking forward to going again. Service was really good and speedy too - thanks!

My burger was raw, when I informed the waitress she told me it was fresh meat from the local farm and they mixed paprika in which made the meat look pink. Please make your own decision

Took my wife and daughter here as an alternative to McDonald's not expecting much and we were pleasantly surprised: good decor, good food, good service, fairly reasonable prices and appropriate (if too loud) music. Recommended.

We stopped here for breakfast on Sunday. The food was delicious and a good portion. The staff were lovely and helpful and really friendly. The ambiance is lovely with the music and memorabilia. Definitely going back for lunch or dinner.

Just visited amigos for late lunch. Had the rumb steak off the steak & grills section and it was amazing! Steak was perfectly cooked and delicious and the fries were perfectly salted! Really recommend this place! I will definitely be back! Thank you!

Way overpriced and cold breakfast which took forever to be served snd there was only 2 tables of people in there ?? £2:50 for 2 of the cheapest white slices of barely toasted bread is a complete joke Really cheap food at top prices about double the price of the super sausage just up the road . Wo t be making that mistake again £30 for 2 small cold breakfasts and 2 coffee’s what a joke

Fantastic breakfast (vegetarian for me & regular for my husband). They were kind enough to make us a fresh breakfast even though we arrived after midday and they had finished serving breakfast. We will definitely be back!
